  4. In your mind, what do you all consider as the best film about Batman? Not just as one of the stars, but as the main star? It can be anything from Tim Burton to Christopher Nolan. Me? If you ask me what I think is one of the best Batman films of all time, "Mask of the Phantasm" is one for the road. Every character in this movie played their part well to the story, the romance was handled better than Tim Burton's Batman, and even the Joker was at his best.

  6. When the Caped Crusader ends up in a strange world full of talking pastel horses, he gets more than he bargained for when finds a rival that shares his own name. To make matters worse, he might not be the only one who was dumped here. Manehattan may find out that comic book heroes are no laughing matter. Be sure to read and comment here, same Bat time, same Bat channel! Batman vs. Batmare
  7. Is the movie good in anyway? I want to see if it's better then the Dark Knight trilogy movie combined.
  8. Aside from cartoons like Gravity Falls and of course FIM, I'm really and I mean truly into Marvel - I'm not even just talking about the movies, I've read over 250 issues of Marvel Comics (mostly 70s and 80s). I have high-functioning autism and I think it classes as a SI (Special Interest). Anyone else share this interest - I don't often see comics being talked about on here, there isn't even a category for it in this forum, and since loads of bronies tend to be geeks too I just wondered...
  9. Whew. What a day. First off, I lucked out and got a ticket to the Autograph session of My Little Pony. Actually, it was alot easy to get one of those tickets. I went to the Hasbro Booth as soon as the doors opened, and I was able to easily acquire a ticket. And unlike in 2012, I made it to the My Little Pony panel. Which is rather odd compared to back in 2012. During that year, it was really hard to get into a My Little Pony panel due to how small the room was. I only made it in 2013 due to a lesson I learned, and I was able to attend the MLP panels since then. Recently, the panel got a little easier to get into. It was almost like you could just walk into the room, sit back, and enjoy the time there. The panelists all showed up: Tara, Tabitha, Andrea, Ashleigh, Cathy, Meghan, Mike and Daniel. Oh, and Liev Schreiber was there. All they showed was tidbits of the upcoming My Little Pony film. Not only did this feel alot like a classic Disney film, but the Storm King reminds me of Hades from Disney's Hercules. And yes, I did ask a silly question: What is your command, Storm King? XP Afterwards, I was able to reach the Autograph session. It took some time, but I was able to meet up with the voice cast. I gave out pictures, but I gave two very important ones to Tabitha and Cathy. The former was because of what happened back in January, when she had to miss a day due to having to have her appendix cut out. The latter is the same image I gave to Charlie Adler yesterday. Both enjoyed it. Afterwards, I was tired from going to panels. So I ate lunch, and went over to pick up something from Mattel(The Wonder Woman set from DC Superhero Girls), and went into the Nintendo Lounge. I was able to play a bit of Splatoon and Mario/Rabbids. The latter was alright, but I only got a small taste of it. I made a big mistake in the game, getting myself killed by a Rabbid Hulk. Oy vey. After eating dinner at the Manchester Hyatt, I returned to catch Batman and Harley Quinn. It's a fun nod to Batman: The Animated Series that's really funny to watch. Some parts remind me of the Adam West era Batman. And Melissa Rauch did a great job as Harley Qunn, right alongside Arleen Sorkin and Tara STrong. When I asked about Kevin and Loren paying tribute to Adam, Kevin gave a heartwarming story about his meeting with Adam West, how he got to work with him, how he was humble and was willing to let Kevin play the role. I admit, it brought a tear to my eye. Anyway, besides the Wonder Woman toy, I also got a Songbird Serenade pin and 2 Justice League/Power Rangers comics. The next 2 days will not be as exciting. But I gotta do this. It's Comic-Con after all.

  11. So here it is. The first day of Comic-Con. And BOY Was it crowded or what. A majority of the Panels I went to today took place in Room 6A. A room that I will return to tomorrow for My Little Pony 1) Teen Titans Go: I know. It's not one of Warner Bros' best cartoons. But I went there just for the heck of it, and got to see one of the episodes "The Night Begins to Shine," and it looks like a fun nod to the 80s. Unfortunately, they only showed the first 3 parts of the episode. The final part is still unknown. Oh well, I'll see how it concludes in the future. My question, which involved having Tara invoke Harley Quinn, was if there will be an appearance by the Joker, voiced by Mark Hamill, and they may consider it. 2) Unikitty: I caught a bit of the animation after lunch. But it looks like something I may consider checking out. Only voice actor Eric Bauza showed up because Tara was at a signing for Teen Titans Go. But Tara will voice Unikitty while Eric will play one of the antagonists. My question was "Will there be an episode where Unikitty is angry cuz someone tipped over her chocolate milk?" They gave a subtle Yes. Which means, I want to see this episode. 3) Justice League Action: The panel I came for, BIGLY. They gave us not ONE, but TWO episodes. The first involved Robotic duplicates of Justice League Members Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Cyborg and Booster Gold stopping Darkseid from analyzing their combat data. The other invovled Booster Gold giving a Watch Tower tour to a small group that is really Toyman, Granny Goodness and....The Joker in disguise. My question was, "Will there be a crossover with other Warner Bros properties like Bugs Bunny or Scooby Doo? It might happen. Might. 4) Rocko's Modern Life: Another BIGLY one. They had all the original voices there: Carlos Alazraqui(Rocko), Tom Kenny(Heffer), Mr. Lawrence(Filbert) and especially Charlie Adler(The Bigheads and the Fatheads). There's a movie coming out next year called "Static Cling." It's mainly a take that towards modern day technologies like Smartphones and Taco Trucks. My question, after pretending to be a customer at a Fast Food Restaurant, was "If there was going to be a spin-off based on the Fatheads." Probably not. I later gave a picture to Charlie Adler, and he liked it. It features My Little Pony's Spike the Dragon. Both G1 and G4. I'll show you all later on. 5) Batman: Mask the Phantasm: Yes folks. This movie is getting a re-release on Blu-Ray. I saw this originally on DVD, and it's a pretty neat movie that encompasses what makes Batman great. I recommend giving it a shot when it comes out on Blu-Ray. Sadly, I did not get to ask a question, but I gave Kevin Conroy a piece of Batman art that I did. I did do some purchases between this and the final panel. They happen to be two Rocket League Car sets(One for me, one for my brother) from UCC Distributor, and from MAttel: Two Justice League Batmobiles(They were in Limited Quantity. That's why I bought two) and a Kylo Ren's STarfighter. I also checked out a bit of the Adobe's Character Animator, where they showed off simplifications of rigging a character to a skeleton, and utilizing pre-set cycles(Espeically Walk-cycles) to help get them moving. And yes, I have the program. Finally, I did check out the Adventures in Voice Acting panel. I do this every year in the event I get to try my luck as a Voice Actor. But alas, I never get picked. :(. I did, however, give the guest actor Robbie Daymond a copy of a drawing I did. Tomorrow's the big one. My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. They're suppose to show off what's going on with the Movie and the rest of Season 7. If I get the chance, I'll talk about em.

  13. Re-watching Equestria girls Legend of Everfree and I realised that Filthy Rich is a billionaire with black hair and blue eyes who acts like the tough businessman but if you watch MLP you know he is a nice guy. And he is up against a woman who gains powers over plants and vines who is so oblivious a Poison Ivy rip off. This made me conclude that Filthy Rich is Equestrian Batman. (which would make Diamond Tiara Damian Wayne and Spoiled Rich Talia Al Ghul)

  15. I've had this funny little idea for quite sometime. Suppose two of the most famous rogues galleries in the history of fiction were to cross paths. I'm talking about the Disney Villains and the Batman Villains. I thought "What would happen if by some coincidence, the various Disney Villains were to be committed to Arkham Asylum. Imagine the sort of interactions that those such as Hades, Jafar, Scar, Meleficant, Ursula, etc. would have with the likes of the Joker, Penguin, Two-Face, Riddler, etc. Which Disney Villians are crazy enough to be committed to Arkham? How would the interactions play out? Which Rogues gallery is better? How well do the Disney Villains compare to the Batman Villains?
  16. Warner Bros has released three new scenes from their upcoming animated series: Justice League Action. And judging by these, this looks like a ton of fun compared to Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice. Video 1: Obviously, you know that Mark Hamill is back as the Joker, especially after coming off of the Arkham series and the Killing Joke. Video 2: I saw the complete episode at Comic-Con. YOu all are going to enjoy it. Especially to the fact that we have a Teen Titans classic Cyborg(Complete with Khary Payton reprising his role) Video 3: Not as interesting as the first two clips, but we do have information of Blue Beetle and Time-traveling Chronos. Overall, this new Justice League series looks like a mix between the classic Justice League series and Teen Titans(The 2000s original). Do yourself a favor and catch this when it debuts later this month on Cartoon Network. And yes, I met the legendary Kevin Conroy.
  17. I have to admit, i didnt beat the Game because it really was difficult and depressing for me and also my downloaded Rom crashed when i was trying to enter a certain Room, so...im not even able to beat the Game, unless i download a different Version, but since this is not my Computer, i really dont want to risk anything. Okay, but really, even if it had worked, i would have probably stopped. Its to difficult for me. The Game is a kinda 3D Adventure Game, but it has this weird perspective, that sometimes doesnt let you see that well, if you are gonna hit something. Also some of the Jumps, have to be perfect and you really have to step on the very edge of your Plattform or else you are not going to make it. That and the difficult Puzzles and not being able to defend yourself against Enemys, makes the game really hard. The Story is simple, Robin got captured by the Joker with help of the Riddler, even though none of them appear in the Game. In fact, all of the Enemys are just random things that arent even from the Batman Comics, im pretty sure. Also this Game is apparently based on the 60 Television Show, since it has the same Theme and Batman has a similar Costume, even though the rest of the Game has nothing to do with it. Enemys include Dogs, Heads with an S on the back, Plattforms that kan kill you, smoke that can kill you, a Pirat Head, a Yeti ( or something ) and some Dude, could be the Joker...maybe. You have to find 7 Parts of the Batcraft to win the Game. Well...you have to find 7 Parts of the Batcraft, than walk to a few Rooms again, that you have already been, so backtracking and then actually find the Room in which the than completed Batcraft is. How are you supposed to find that out? And what does the Save Function bring me, if everytime i load, some of the Super Powers are missing which makes going to certain Rooms impossible? So you have to restart the Game anyway. And why do you sometimes get an extra Life called " Dog Life " ? And what has this to do with Batman? Anyway...and now Spoiler Alert, if you manage to assemble the Batcraft and jump into it, you simply get a Screen that says : Batcraft completed. Or something like that. Than it just jumps to the Game Over Screen. The same Screen that you get, when you die. What about rescuing Robin and defeating Joker and the Riddler? Well, nothing. Nothing else happends. You assemble the Batcraft and then Batman saves Robin by himself...i guess, because you dont get to see it. .....okay? Can i not get an Winning Screen, in which Robin is with me, so that i know that i have saved him? Anything? Okay... Well all in all, the Game is not bad, it looks good for the time and goes on for much longer than the first 2 Superman Games, but you move sooo slow and you have to jump picture perfect or you die, that combined with backtracking, losing your Super Powers when you load a save, which makes saving pointless and the sometimes confusing perspective of the Game makes it hard to aim for Jumps or even see where Objects go. Even Enemys can hide behind Walls and then kill you with a surprise. I would give this Game a...5/10. 5 Points for being a good Game, but it gets no Fun Points. That doesnt mean that the game is bad, because its really not, but i dislike it. Its not my Type of Game, its frustrating, difficult, slow and sometimes unfair. And i really dont have the Motivation to play this game for half an Hour, just to get a Game Over Screen anyway. Its a good Game, but its not my Game.

  20. Throughout the history of the Batman franchise, there have been several different Batmobile designs each with it's own charm. Even the Batman arcade game lets you choose from several different Batmobile designs. Now I would like to know which one is your absolute favorite?
  21. Let's state this off first and foremost: I DON'T CARE IF YOU LIKE OR DISLIKE THIS FILM! Like what you like, dislike what you dislike, it doesn't matter to me as everyone has their own tastes. That's not to say that things aren't objectively good or bad, but you're not a worse person even if you like something like some of Adam Sandler's worst fare. I might think you have poor taste, but it won't judge what I think of you as a person. So yeah, this is a no-flame war zone. So that out of the way, here's my review of Suicide Squad. I liked it a whole lot! I really did, I really really did. I came in wanting a fun time with a story that I figured wouldn't leave a huge impact on the DCEU, and that's what I got. Was it perfect? No, heck no, but I got what I wanted. A great cast having fun in some crazy roles which I would like to see more of in the future, along with some cool action, cool worldbuilding here and there, and a rocking soundtrack. Will Smith and Margot Robbie (as Deadshot and Harley Quinn, respectively) deserve the lions share of praise, though major props to Jai Courtney, I would really love to see more of his Captain Boomerang in the future. Viola Davis was PERFECT as Amanda Waller, she just WAS that character through and through and definitely did her homework. Killer Croc didn't talk much but he had a few good one-liners here and there and his character shouldn't talk much anyways, Killer Croc isn't smart and doesn't have many thought-provoking things to say. Katana could use more development for sure, but I think there's a good chance she could show up in something like a Birds of Prey movie. El Diablo was a cool character all in all and I really enjoyed his character arc, and Joel Kinnaman was solid as Rick Flagg, as was Cara Delevigne as Enchantress. I can't really judge Jared Leto's Joker at this point, I think people are gonna be split on the performance, but for me it felt like I was watching his audition for the role. I did leave wanting to see more of him, and I think if he has a better writer for his role (it felt like Ayer was afraid of giving him too much to do at risk that the Joker might steal attention from the other characters) in a far expanded role, say in a Batman-solo flick, that he'll really get to shine and polish his performance. The villain I would say was average, but I didn't need a great villain in this film, not when the film focuses on a team of villains already. I'd say she was on par with Ronan in Guardians of the Galaxy, he's not a very good villain either, but he works for that film's needs. The plot doesn't really matter, and there aren't really too many character arcs going on, but I didn't expect these villains to really redeem themselves or anything. And yeah, the editing was shoddy in many places but I was having so much fun that I didn't care. The action was very cool, particularly one of Deadshot's set-pieces and getting to see all these characters with these different powers and styles of fighting fighting alongside each other. After the film, I was chatting on Twitter with a good pal of mine who's a huge DC fan herself. The thing we both loved most is that this was definitely the first DCEU movie that felt like it was happening in a comic book world. There's this whole bevy of crazy characters who exist alongside each other, but the world just accepts that they exist, and I loved that. Magic is now canon in this universe, and not the Marvel tech-magic that they've developed in the MCU, actual, honest-to-gosh magic, which means things like JL Dark can happen! We finally have hope that the DCEU will start embracing the inherently fun-loving nature of comic books, and I think they're on their way to righting the DCEU ship. The mid-credits sequence was very good, and I can't wait for Wonder Woman and Justice League. 'Suicide Squad' is a blast, but reviews are a dumpster fire of hyperbole Do I think this movie deserves to be criticized? Sure, it's hardly perfect, and definitely has flaws. But a Forbes review which I've posted above best explains what's going on right now with this film, particularly with critics. I don't think there's a conspiracy or anything, but it's biggest sin to the critics who just seem dead set on destroying Suicide Squad is really that it's not a Marvel film. Not because it's not distributed by Disney, but because the Marvel formula exists already. Heaven help your superhero film if it doesn't follow that formula these days, and with DC, that's impossible, their characters and world are different in nature from Marvel's. There is something unfair going on here, and I think while the fanboy backlash has been too much, many critics are taking an elitist attitude about this movie. They think that people who like it have poor taste, or that their opinion matters more than others. One of the weakest defenses I've heard this week from critics is that "they just want to make sure people don't see movies they shouldn't and would go see if they didn't speak up." That's a terribly elitist thing to say! People are more than capable of determining for themselves what they like on their own. If someone listens to your opinion or shares it, you should be thankful they took the time to listen and follow your advice. You shouldn't simply assume that your opinion matters more than others and that audiences are obligated to share your opinion. Does that mean people always go to movies they should? Of course not, plenty of films that are bad are successful at the box office. But it's up to people to decide what they want to see, and there is no obligation for someone not to buy a movie because the critics didn't dig it, because critics are just as likely to be wrong as they are right. We've seen plenty of times where critics take very forgiving attitudes to films either because of who is pushing out the films (Disney in particular has gotten some softball reviews this year, I mean, The Jungle Book remake getting 100%, Pete's Dragon getting over 80%, come on!), or because of who directed them. This is not always the case of course, but critics are just as human as the rest of us, their word and opinions are not gospel truth, and neither is mine. Also, I should say that I have some problems with the Rotten Tomatoes formula in general; for one, it can't take into account when one movie gets far more reviews than another (like 5 or 30 vs 200+), but for another, it seems odd to try to mathematically measure the merit of a film in such a manner. Film is art, and art is to some extent subjective in the nature of how it is received. So while it may seem natural trying to quantify the merit of a film, I am starting to realize just what a weird system that is, especially how RT does it, and increasingly find myself not buying it given that there's many variables RT can't take into account. I can't guarantee you'll like this film, I can just tell you what I thought. As a DC fan, I had fun and left hopeful for the DCEU going forward. Not even the critics can damper the blast I had here. If you don't like it, I understand if the editing is too bad for you or if it's just not a superhero movie you like. Everyone's different, but for me, this spells good things going forward and if DC can just continue to do more worldbuilding like they did here, we might get increasingly special projects going forward. We need a foundation for the DCEU, and this was the first very comic-booky foundation it's gotten, that alone made it worthwhile for me, and if it's just as fun and worthwhile for you, I'm happy for ya! I think you should check it out as soon as you can, maybe bring some friends, and look forward to what will probably be a good time for ya. Have a nice one ya'll, and hope this review helps.
  22. Does anyone here remember when Svengallop gave Pinkie Pie a hard time in The Mane Attraction? Well if you do and you can't get this jerk out of your head, here's Flutter Batman to help you make sure of that. http://daimando.deviantart.com/art/Flutterbatman-confronts-Svengallop-629241742
  23. While Kevin Conroy has come off of Batman: the Killing Joke plus all new regular performances in Justice League Action, Adam West will be taking on the voice of Batman once more in Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders. He'll be joined by fellow Robin actor Burt Ward and Catwoman herself Julie Newmar. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3jBbWoAtaWc The video is due out this October on Digital HD and November on DVD/Blu-ray. As for who's voicing the Joker, I'm not so sure. But if Mark Hamill sneaks his voice into this movie, I'll be surprised.
  24. This was just a quick image that I did involving Pinkie Pie in a shout out to the Batman: The Killing Joke cover. There's a key difference between this and the original. Here's a hint: Look at the Camera Lens http://daimando.deviantart.com/art/Pinkie-Pie-s-Killing-Joke-Shout-Out-626783474
  25. OK, so finally saw Batman v Superman's Ultimate Edition last night, and unsurprisingly, it vastly improved the film. There were things I couldn't even believe they cut, like a whole bevvy of scenes and clips which fleshed out and explained Lex's plan and motivations so much better (the one that really shocked me was about 30 seconds of dialogue he speaks right before letting loose Doomsday which made it ABUNDANTLY clear that killing Superman first and foremost was always his goal), or little scenes which helped flesh out Superman and Metropolis much more and make it far more of a Tale of Two Cities so to speak between Batman/Gotham and Superman/Metropolis. The Clark Kent persona of Superman was quite a bit improved in that at least we got to see him as a reporter, even though I think to a certain extent Zack Snyder still doesn't get that aspect of Superman's personality. But the thing which I think improved the most from the extensions, however, was that the film as a trial analogy in multiple respects (there's a reason it's titled Batman v Superman in the legal sense which I was aware of already) felt far more fulfilled in that regard. You have the idea of two types of superheroes on trial for most of the movie, trying to figure out if they can tolerate the other or coexist, or which one of them the world needs; these individual superheroes dealing with their own inner trials (i.e. Superman not knowing if the world can or will accept him now that it knows he exists, Batman becoming much more intense and violent in response to Superman's presence and preparing for what he thinks will be the most important fight of his life for the fate of the world); the world via media putting these heroes on trial in the public space. I knew that this analogy and these themes were there in the theatrical cut, but they were MUCH better realized in the 3 hour edition. As a result of the trial themes, the heroes themselves are in a state of limbo for most of the film; the heroing takes a backseat and they aren't sure what their place in the world going forward is meant to be, and that's very much intentional and an intriguing idea to see executed. I think overall that in the future this film will be reassessed as being far better than it was initially received upon release, and I definitely recommend anyone who hasn't that you check out the Ultimate Edition as soon as you can (though it is admittedly long, if you have to watch it in two sittings, I'd say stop it after the big moment in Washington about halfway through, you know the one). It may not change your overall opinion of whether you liked it or not, and there's nothing wrong with that, but it's definitely the film as it was supposed to be released, so there's that at least. Me, I already dug what Snyder was going for in the theatrical version but knew fully well that it was a roughly edited film; this still had some rough editing bits but was overall much more polished and smoother, and I appreciate that we have the option of seeing this version instead.
