    Your best day ever?

I did a search; 120 results, none of which looked quite like what I wanted. What was the best day in your entire life up to this point and time? Or if applicable, What is going to be your best day ever? I've had a few really good days, but I also have a horrible memory so finding my best day ever amongst all the rest of my memory-spaghetti would take awhile. So this thread will be about YOU. Yes fillies and gentle-colts this is not about moi, It's just strictly you. This way I'll get to know some of the wonderfull ponies on this forum without sounding overly egotistical. Alright you heard it! Best day, Go!
  2. .. While I normally like listing off my favorite things... this list is actually gonna be kinda small for me personally. This could maybe be attributed to the fact that hardly any one fictional character really connects with me, usually it is the combinations of characters within certain settings. That being said, here goes: Ripred, The Underland Chronicles Rarity, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic Luxa, The Underland Chronicles Gregor, The Underland Chronicles Boots, The Underland Chronicles Spike, My LIttle Pony: Friendship is Magic Captain Holly Short, Artemis Fowl series Applejack, Scootaloo, Sweetie Belle. ... and then, uh...I'll probably just hafta go with like, Buzz Lightyear and Woody and Toy Story characters. I know a ton of people here will be like, "too many to count". I hardly care about... like, Harry Potter characters, or Hunger Games characters. They just sort of exist and are pawns in a larger story. the characters from both those series I just mentioned. oh yeah... maybe I like the major characters in my actual favorite movie of all-time, the movie called AKIRA. I like Kei, and Yamagata, and Kai, and even the Colonel. I also just realized, I forgot to mention how excellently written most of the characters are in that one manga-about-the-manga-industry called Bakuman. I adored that manga, despite the fact that it is one of the only manga I've ever read and that I generally dislike manga and generally don't read manga. Kaya Miyoshi is one of the best-written female characters I've ever known. I also like the two main characters, Moritaka "Saiko" Mashiro and Akito "Shujin" Takagi.
  3. Hello everypony. Woohoo here with another edition of Musical Manslaughter. because you can't spell 'slaughter' without 'laughter' and these songs are jokes. When I made the first entry of the MMS last year, I declared that "Shake it Off" by Taylor Swift was the worst song ever. Well, I take that back. Turns out, there is a song far worse than "Shake It Off" or any of the songs I ripped apart the past few months. This is a song that's even more irritating to my ears than "St. Anger," more insulting to my intelligence than "Marvin Gaye," more boring and excessively elongated than "American Pie," and even more overplayed than "Shake it Off." This is a song I've been... No, scratch that... everyone's been listening to since the day we were born. It's been around since the dawn of the time and will continue to exist long after all life and all time ceases to exist... Holy shit, that was longwinded! Alright, enough jucking and chiving. I'm going to reveal the name of the worst song ever... and it's name is... Silence. ... Really, what can I say about "Silence"? It's... just... nothing. The lyrics? Nothing! The music? Nothing! Artistry? Nothing! Emotion? Nothing! That's all "Silence" is, Abso-Fuckin-Lutely NOTHING! *sigh* Why people keep saying "Silence is Golden?" What's so golden about it?! It's nothing! Who came up with that phrase?! Whoever came up with that phrase, I've got a few words for ya... Now for the final score. For the first time, we get a perfect score! And that concludes this entry of Musical Manslaughter. Happy Easter Fools Day everyone!
  4. There’s no shortage of musically talented people in the Brony fandom. There’s not many movie musicals whose soundtracks had us squealing with such delight. And this year, a group of gifted Bronies and Pegasisters, will bring an abridged version of the biggest smash since Hamilton, to the Mane Stage. Featuring the songs from the movie, sung by famous personalities from our great fandom, you’ll laugh and cry and cheer as you witness fabulous singing and dancing and... what’s that? The hotel probably won’t let us set up a trapeze act? Darn it Well aside from that obviously missing factor (maybe Zac Effron and Zendaya 2.0 can just make flighty motions like Pegasi), it’s sure to be the most wonderful spectacle Everfree has ever put on. Or, here’s a thought for a set of potential lyrics for a song to go with the opening skit THE GREATEST CON: Intro Verse 1: Fillies and colts this is the con that you’ve waited for (Thump - thump thump) Been trotting through the dark All year you’ve been feeling bored (Thump - thump thump) And buried in your heart are the elements you can’t ignore (thump) laughter and loyalty (thump) honesty generosity (thump) kindness and magic Yes there all here you gotta see Don’t fight the fun it’s coming for ya Starting right now It’s only 3 days Don’t care what comes after Your pony dreams Can’t ya see Getting closer Just surrender cause ya feel the friendship taking over It’s rainbows and sunshine and lots of laughing It’s the panels and the singing Don’t forget the dancing Let go of your ridged ways and blind composure All that ya know Chorus: Tell me do ya wanna go Where it’s covered in stunning rainbow lights Where the Ponies Are run of the night Where we party until dawn And we have loads of fun (Oh, this is the greatest con) We light it up We won’t come down And the rain won’t stop us now Your friends are all here Filled with a bunch of cheer (Oh, this is the greatest con) Verse 2: Voice acting and writing and costumes if that’s your thing And there’s even some panels where we might explore anime Don’t fight the fun it’s coming for ya Starting right now It’s only 3 days Don’t care what comes after You’re high as Pinkie Pie on unfiltered caffeine WHOAH! (Awkward pause) Chorus: (Same except in place of Where we party until dawn And we have loads of fun It would say Where we forge bonds for lifetime And have an awesome time) Bridge: It’s all the ponies you could want And all the friendship you can dream And it’s here right in front of you This is where you wanna be Repeat (This is where you wanna be——) Person playing Hugh Jackman’s part walks off stage as the chorus is sung as in the movie. Ashleigh and Andrea run out: Andrea in an excited Pinkie squeal: “THIS IS THE GREATEST CON!” Ashleigh finishes the song, playing Zac Effron’s part For finale, instead of This is the greatest con Andrea: “NOW LET’S HAVE SOME FUN FUN FUN!” Confetti cannons go off and shower the audience with rainbows and sparkles and tons of glittery crap and it’s wonderful I have no idea how to ponify the other songs. If a full performance of the songs from Greatest Showman is a possibility, I’d suggest simply doing them in their natural state. If doing a song to close out the opening ceremonies sounds better, I’d suggest doing a pony parody (feel free to use or adapt this if you wish). Either way, I nominate Dr. Wolf to play Hugh Jackman (he might have a little trouble on the higher notes, but I can see him putting his own wondrous spin on it).
  5. If you were presented the opportunity to be immortal, would you? You are immune to injury and disease, the only way you can die is if you kill yourself. You are also granted the ability to kill yourself by thought, incase you lack a means to do so. Would you take it? If not, what would you change in order to accept it?

    Return of the College

Remember Iser ?, you know that ugly black eyed guy, from my last entry........ yeah me neither... ``Everything has to be done at it s time`` Everything has to be done at it s time like homeworks and projects something that Iser never did in his holiday weeks, soo dear Iser does it all in a day or 2. Iser is a simple man, he saw bed he woke up 2 weeks after for school. With a heavy load of food and `` clean plain not fizzy water``his brain is still fuzzy, life angel after a bath. ``I`m gonna start to do it right after this song/post/movie/dinner``, a phrase we use it everyday, it seems so useless, but it kills our own inspiration, our own motivation, initiative, something that Iser would have to learn on his own skin. Inspiration and motivation is so hard to find these days, not even taliking about moral support..... a very rare perk we have to dig very deep in this society. Everyone of us needs a quiet moment full of nothing, just take example of Rainbow Dash`s means of relaxation, standing on a cloud, if we all could have slept on clouds and recover our strenght of our mind...very few things could stand in our way. You might laugh or say it sounds like a doctor prescription, well laughing is good, so laugh and there is a reason why doctors recomend these breaks from society and from our daily routine, 5/10/15/20 minutes of sleep or any kind relaxation with your eyes closed is good for your mind, and thus for your friends mind. Anyone that can be strong enough to hold himself can hold a couple more friends with him, guaranteed... science, ohh and 70 or more of the information our brain procces everyday is through our eyes soo... you close your eyes everything gets cooled down, it`s that easy Iser understanded this, what he didn`t understand was the part with 10-15 minutes, he just did it for 2 whole weeks, so now he has to recover all his lost data.... bummer Next time maybe he will pay atention to a import lesson in life MODERATION. If there is a this we as humans don`t like to do is to take sides and balance things, with the few exceptions.... But to keep everything might look easy at the circus, not so easy when it comes on how we need to keep our time in balance. An example of a wrong balance: ``The day has 24 h right ?, so 8 h we play, 8 h we sleep, and 8 h we go to work/school, easy :3`` Quite wrong I must say.... our mind it isn`t set as a computer is set, we need to take in ecuation the recovery time, recovery time is needed when we change from a state to another, from school to free time, from playtime to naptime and soo on... At the end of the day we have our mind ...let`s say fragmented, and need to ``defragment`` it. Sometimes alone, sometimes with friend either case is good and it`s recomended, pushing our mind to extra information, could make us act weird and funny, like a drunk sailor after a battle with Davy Jones. Tired is my mind, sleep is what calls me For today this is my entry, hope you like it, if you did like it, post any kind of comment bad, good, weird, funny, Make things as you want to do it.... in a limit of your conscience.

    The Dawn Journey

Several months ago the staff on MLPF had an idea to create a series of blogs introducing ourselves. At the time, I was reasonably busy and off in my own world so I completely missed my chance. Id like to rectify that now by telling you a bit about myself and my journey here to this forum. Allow me to introduce myself, my name is Matthew. Im a 19 year old game development student living in Brisbane, Australia. I was born in the city of Townsville to a single mother and spent the first 17 years of my life in a small town called Ayr. In my youth I participated in a variety of activities such a soccer, hockey, tennis, cricket and scouts. I was a pretty active kid until the internet and gaming took over my life. Towards the end of school (2011) I found an online community centered around my all time favourite game Halo. Obviously since it was aligned with my interests, I signed up. It was here that I met one of my best friends who ended up introducing me to My Little Pony. After becoming hooked on the show I began looking for a forum where I could discuss the show with like minded people. Considering MLP Forums was the first result on google, I decided to create an account on the 7th of March. (Warning, I was somewhat different in how I presented myself back then.) A month after joining the site I was offered a position on staff. I was to join the team over-watching the new Q&A section alongside former staff members Marcato and Marco. For me this was a relatively new experience but I was happy to be of some assistance to the members of MLP Forums. For the next several months I worked away answering various questions about issues users were having on the site. During this period of my life on the forum I was involved in a number of projects such as the first iteration of the Equestrian World Roleplay and the original Poni Arcade project. I also had a hand in singing for a fundraiser to bring Feld0 and Poniverse to Bronycon. (See image below for a graphical representation) Sadly though, this wasn't to continue for much longer since I had signed up for service in the Australian Army. After graduation (November 2012) I took an extended leave from forum staff and went off to basic. It was a wild ride of both hellish and unforgettable moments, making some amazing friends and experiencing something that most people don't. After a leave of 3-4 months, I returned to staff and my original duties on the Q&A team, however towards the end of my first year in the military I badly injured my hip on a training exercise and was medically discharged. This ended my military "career" and lead me to working "full time" on the forum. (Basically I was on the computer all day) During this period of my time on the forum staff I founded the initial iteration of the Poniverse Newsletter, even obtaining an interview from Peter New (VA for Big Mac). It was honestly an exciting moment for me. For the next several months I continued my work on Q&A until Artemis offered me a moderator position. I accepted and thus began my current stint as a moderator on MLPF. Its been over 2 years since I joined staff on MLP Forums and Im not looking back. I started my university course on game design and continued working on this forum as a moderator. I've loved my time here and I don't seen an end to that any time soon. Hopefully this gives you an idea of who I am as a person and not just a purple name at the bottom of the front page. If you have anything you want to ask me, feel free to comment below and I'll answer. Love you all, Dawn~
  8. I would like to introduce to you the two possible survivors, and likely cause of Ragnarök. @Koukatsu, has served you all magnificently as a Sectional Staffer in the MLPF section. Welcoming new members, answering questions, assisting with escalation of sensitive tickets, and putting up with my antics. I have known him for a while as a colleague and friend. He has proven his mettle, so it gives me great pleasure to welcome him to the Moderation Team as a Global Moderator. He will continue to focus his attention in the areas he has become an expert in, and also be able to stretch his red pegasus wings to assist beyond MLPF. Congrats Kou! Serendipity. ... (or Dawn Rider as he is known by many), will be taking over the role as Team Leader for the MLPF section. There is something special about this. For those that go back, Dawn was a member of the team that started out running Site Questions. His dedication there is nothing short of impressive. In a way, the circle is complete. On a personal note, he was one of the first members of staff to reach out to me in friendship. When I joined staff, he was instrumental in easing the transition for me. His approachability is genuine. It also didn't hurt that he sounds and looks just like Dr. Chase from House MD. Just kidding Dawn. The ship is yours sir. It is in good hands. [hr[ Both of them deserve these promotions. Though, I am not sure why we all had to die. Come to think of it ... that was bad planning on my part. *I totally did not just rip that off of Wikipedia and edit it. Nope, not me.

Web The Greatest Freak Out Ever

Anypony remember the video series titled "The Greatest Freak Out Ever"? The Youtuber who made them is called Wafflepwn. If so, what do you think of them and which one's your favorite? I thought that the videos were really funny especially when the guy keeps breaking things. At first, I thought it was a YouTube channel that had compilations of people freaking out and each video starred a different person. But when I realized it was the same person in all of the videos, I thought "this guy has anger issues". I even think that the videos are fake and the person freaking out is just acting. If I had to pick a favorite, it would be the first one. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=YersIyzsOpc

  19. EDIT 11/02: Two have dropped out, but we have received the first entry! Earlier the fic, less the harshness. So hop to it! EDIT 10/24: Standby spots are filled, and no one else may sign up anymore. Details given on page 3. EDIT 10/23: All spots are filled! However, you may still sign up on the standby list! EDIT 10/23: If I brohoof your post, you are accepted! One more judge is needed as I'm the host, so I don't count. All judge spots are filled. EDIT 10/21: If all spots are filled up and you still want to enter, you can be on the standby list! If someone doesn't register their fanfic, they will be removed and you can participate. Inspired by the 500 word fanfic contest a few months ago. Hi, guys. As I wrote above, this fanfic contest was inspired by the 500 word fanfic contest that Ashbad hosted during August. I've always wanted to participate in one of those as well, so I decided to make my own contest. Yes, I know there are community bonding contests that are unfinished and pretty much inactive (which is why I created this). So, yeah! I hope many people will participate! This fanfic contest's topic will be shipping. HOLD IT! I know some of you immediately decided to exit this topic because of the word "shipping!" The shipping can be anything. Regular romance or just really good friends, doesn't matter. Just measure out the relationship between two ponies, because that's what you'll be judged upon. Word limit is at most 2,500 words, and at least 1,000 words. If it's somewhere around 2,500 more or less, that's fine. Any tag will be fine. Comedy, dark, whatever--it doesn't matter. There will be possibly 3-4 rounds when deciding winners. It will include voting, judging by the judges, moderation through FiMfiction.net, etc. You'll be judged on: - How well you flesh out the two characters' relationship. Friendship, romance, anything--make it really shine! - Grammar, conventions, etc. - Does the story match the tag well? If you put comedy as a tag, is the story funny? - Creativity. Did you use an overused idea? Be original! Rules: 1.) No copying, stealing ANY story and claim it as your own. 2.) No late entries will be accepted. 3.) It has to be related to shipping. 4.) Have fun, because that's usually the last rule, so yeah. Participants 1.) Lightning Fluttershy 2.) Sir Dusty Soul 3.) Shadow Stalker 4.) Sneaky 5.) Viridi RaccoonBL 6.) LightRaider 7.) Elijordo 8.) Raindancer 9.) SolarWind 10.) Dsanders17 11.) TailsAlone 12.) Duece 13.) Captain McMuffin 14.) Toothless the Night Fury 15.) TheLionPaladin 16.) Oddgob Standby list: 1.) TailsAlone - Participate number 11 2.) My little pwny 3.) TheBreech Judges: 1.) Clarity - I'll be the host, so I will be the only one who knows who registered which fanfic. All the other judges will have fics graded anonymously. 2.) Sugar Plum 3.) ynomir50 4.) Rainbow Dashey 5.) SorteKanin 6.) MrAwesomeness Here are all the details y'all are eager for! Due date is November 7th UTC+8. Send them in before that time or your entry will not be counted! After you completed your fic, send a PM to me with a link to either FiMfiction.net or Google Docs. If you can't access either of those, sorry; we won't accept emails. The word limit may not bypass 2,500 or be under 1,000. More or less are fine. But please keep in mind that people would have to read almost all of those 15+ entries and sparing them some time would be good. Send to me with this form: Name: Link to the fic: And I will PM you back with a number. Since voting is anonymous, nobody else should know which number is whose entry. Remember: PM ME ONLY. Don't post your fic in the thread, because it'll be easier for us to follow up with. Any questions, PM or quote me on this thread.
  20. Fifty years ago, on November 23rd 1963, two curious schoolteachers followed an unearthly child into a scrapyard only to find a magic blue box and the daft old man who stole it from his people and ran. And he's been running ever since. The continuing escapades of the grumpy, bumbling, dashing, crazy, sweet, bombastic, cunning, caring, damaged, heroic, and raggedy Doctor and his friends is one of popular culture's greatest adventures and has earned its title as one of the most beloved cult shows (if not the most beloved) of all time. To celebrate this once in a lifetime milestone in the life of one of my favorite things ever, I might as well share a quick list of my all time favorite episodes from every era of the series. This is by no means a definitive list; not every Doctor is represented equally, and there many "essential" episodes I have not yet seen ("Talons of Weng Chiang", "Curse of Fenric" just to name a few). Heck, some of these rankings might change later. These are just the stories that I think best define what I love about show and just plain entertain me the most. And hey, I've provided a link to the episodes I could find so you can check them out for yourself if you haven't already. So... 20. The Mind Robber Some would argue that the only episode in this serial worth watching is the first one (which does end on an awesome cliffhanger the rest of the story may not be able to live up to), but not me. It's a wild departure from the stories the Second Doctor usually found himself in, and features some of the best scenes of his run. And seriously, any story where the possibility that the Doctor may be killed by a unicorn is present deserves a watch. 19. The Green Death Karate fights, chase scenes, giant alien maggots, an environmental message that was way ahead of its time on television, insight into how the Third Doctor's attitude towards humanity had changed, and one of the more subtle and well-done of the companion departures. This episode has the works, baby. Did I mention the Doctor in drag? 18. The Girl in the Fireplace This was back when Steven Moffat's "girl who waited" concept was fresh and new, and he gets every emotion and laugh he can out of the Tenth Doctor's doomed sorta-romance with Madame de Pompadour. The clockwork repair droids are make for some cool enemies, the means by which all the strange sci-fi shenanigans are occurring is really clever, and David Tennant knocks it out of the park. But above all else, the episode serves as a microcosm of the tragedy of the Doctor's relationship with his companions. The curse of the Time Lords, if you will. 17. A Christmas Carol The best of the reboot's Christmas specials, offering a really clever twist on the tired recreation of A Christams Carol you see every show do at least once. Visually inventive, funny, and moving all at once, and the Doctor is at his most whimsical. One of my favorite Christmas specials period. 16. Remembrance of the Daleks After years of shoddy writing, debatable creative decisions and two Doctors who weren't allowed to be as great as they could have been, a change in producers results in the best Doctor story in ages. There's tons of great stuff that makes this serial worth watching: Sylvester McCoy is marvelous as the Doctor and takes the character into a new and interesting direction, the Daleks are presented as an intimidating military force with actual strategies and different classes (the Special Weapons Dalek is the best thing ever), there's a fanboy's treasure trove of callbacks to the very first story, and it's the debut of Ace, one of the most badass companions ever, as evidenced by the scene in which she messes up a Dalek with a baseball bat charged up with Time Lord technology. 15. The Waters of Mars Starts off as a pretty basic Doctor story, albeit one with a very creepy and visully unique central monster, but turns out to be much, much more: a dark exploration of the Doctor's evolving morals and what happens when he doesn't give a f***. It's not nearly as funny as Tumblr gifs would have have you believe. 14. Bad Wolf/The Parting of the Ways The best finale of the reboot so far and the last time the Daleks really worked. Relentless and religious in their desire to exterminate the human race, they cut the scheming weirdos schtick and become genuinely scary again, which in turn leads to my favorite Doctor/Dalek confrontation ever. It's exciting, emotional, instantly iconic, and it even ends with possibly the best regeneration scene ever. 13. The Aztecs My favorite of the First Doctor's purely historic adventures. The rule here, that history cannot be changed ("not one line") is promptly broken in the also very good "The Romans" (and how broken it is is explored further in "The Time Meddler"), but One's insistence upon it and his sympathising with Barabra as she struggles to save a doomed civilization offers a lot of insight into his personality and makes him much more three-dimensional; underneath that stern face and Edwardian jacket, the Doctor does indeed have a heart. Two, actually. 12. Vincent and the Doctor It may or may not make you cry, but if you don't feel anything during these forty minutes, I do not want to meet you. A beautiful and respectful tribute to one of the most tragic artists of all time, this story ends with an mature meditation on sorrow and happiness: a single good day may not be able to change a sad life, but it makes all the difference in the world. 11. The Pirate Planet The first Classic story I ever watched, and woo boy, is this a doozy. It's an very entertaining adventure with some fantastic stuff from Tom Baker, a great villain, clever comedy, one of the best uses of jelly babies ever, K-9 having a laser duel with a robot parrot, and enough out-there ideas for several stories. You expect nothing less of writer Douglas Adams, creator of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. 10. Genesis of the Daleks The Daleks are finally given an origin story and a creator in the form of Davros, who gives us some of the greatest moments of villainy in the whole of Doctor Who. Using only a handful of sets to create a tragedy on an epic scale, what really makes this story is the Doctor's ultimate decision on whether to wipe out the Daleks. While it's sort of obvious he ends up not doing that (you can't eliminate the things that sell the toys), the way he reaches his conclusion is thought-provoking and says a lot about his character. It was never about whether the Daleks deserved to be destroyed; it was about whether anybody has the right to make that decision at all. 9. Inferno Doctor Who's answer to Star Trek's "Mirror, Mirror", but with less facial hair. A well-paced and intense serial from eerie start to explosive end, the Third Doctor's best story sees him witnessing what happens when he fails to save the Earth in time in all its horrifying detail. All the weird elements in the story, from the impending apocalypse to the weird primordial zombie people fit together surprisingly well, and the alternate universe twist at the end of the first act is the kind of big, strange ideas that the best of series does well. MVP is Nicholas Courtney, who's great as the always twinkling Brigadier and his evil counterpart, the Brigade Leader. 8. City of Death Douglas Adam's other Doctor story is one of the most beloved of the Fourth Doctor's adventures, and with good reason. It's an utter delight of an episode, with a twisty and creative plot that swings between big idea sci-fi, light-hearted comedy, and a surreal caper that involves several clones of the Mona Lisa. The chemistry between Four and Time Lady companion Romana is at its absolute best, the resolution to the plot is one of the funniest moments in all of Doctor Who, and it comes complete with a random Monty Python cameo. That should be reason enough to watch this story. 7. The Doctor's Wife This may depend on whether you like Neil Gaiman's writing (because this is very much a Gaiman story), but it's an absolutely brilliant science-fantasy tale that provides some of the best moments of Matt Smith's tenure as the Doctor and introduces us to a new perspective that changes the context of everything we've seen so far. The TARDIS always had character (a quality the Doctor loves in any vehicle he uses), but now it is a character, and it's here that we learn, cheesy as it is, that the Doctor's love for his TARDIS is only matched by the TARDIS's love for her thief. 6. Blink An episode I keep thinking is overrated after a while, but then I watch it again and remember that it totally is as good as the hype says it is. The Doctor is only in it for a few minutes, but that's okay, because Carrey Mulligan is amazing as heroine Sally Sparrow, bolstered by a great supporting cast and a high production value that's much more cinematic than we've seen before. It helps that it has a ingenious script that utilizes time travel in an interesting way and dialogue that would later become some of the most meme worthy of the entire series. And of course... Probably the scariest Doctor Who story ever, and that's saying something. 5. The Caves of Andronzani The episode that is most often picked as the greatest story ever, and it certainly deserves every accolade it gets. Gripping and exciting from start to finish, the Fifth Doctor's final adventure features him at his most heroic and badass (leading to the show's best cliffhanger, in which the Doctor makes it quite clear that he has had it), pitted against fantastic villains in an intense situation that just keeps getting more dangerous and complex as it goes on. Penned by the all-time master of writing Doctor Who, Robert Holmes, this is how you have a Doctor go out in style. Even Colin Baker's tiny moment at the end is awesome. Seriously, go watch this. 4. The Deadly Assassin The first story to take place on Gallifrey, this is the episode that defines who the Time Lords are as a race, and more importantly, how they are as vulnerable as anyone else. It's a great conspiracy plot full of huge ideas (it had the Matrix before the Matrix was ever cool), bolstered by Tom Baker's excellent performance in the first Doctor story to not feature a companion. It's also the greatest Master story ever, despite the fact that he's absolutely nothing like his regular self. Gone is the suave, charismatic mannerisms of Roger Delgado, and this isn't the manic fun of John Simms. The Master here is a monster, fueled by pure vengeance and a need to prolong whatever life he has left, at any cost. 3. The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances Starts off simple enough, but soon becomes much more emotionally complex. I could go on and on about the near-perfect recreation of war-torn London and the interesting perspective of the the event that it takes, the glorious coolness that is Captain Jack Harkness, and one of the greatest and creepiest Doctor Who monsters ever (which has one of the more creative origins we've seen). But what makes this episode freaking sublime is the ending. It easily could have ended up being sappy or clumsy, but it ends up being a genuinely touching moment (I actually remember tearing up a bit) that perfectly sums up who the Doctor is. It adds a whole new level of sadness to any loss of life the Doctor suffers, because now e know how much saving people means to him. 2. The War Games The Second Doctor's adventures (and the black and white era) go out with a literal bang in the most exciting and subversive story the show had ever attempted to do at that point, and it delivers. Yeah, it's a whopping ten episodes, but there's so many new details about the nature of the War Games and crazy scenarios being added that the pacing just works and the story never drags. There's some great satire regarding the futility of war and the kind of people who would perpetuate it, as well as some great action scenes for 1960's television. But what makes this story an important classic (possibly the most important of the whole series) is the introduction of the Time Lords (who are actually kind of scary here) and the explanation that the Doctor's exile is a self-inflicted one. In one fell swoop, the show now has a mythology to tap into and the Doctor is given a level of pathos nobody knew he was capable of. Bonus points for one of the sadder companion departures and the awesome title card. 1. Human Nature Not a Doctor story in the traditional sense at all, but still a masterpiece of science fiction and fantasy television. Despite technically not featuring the Doctor at all, this is the story that best demonstrates that, once you get past the charm and the wonder, the Doctor can be an extremely dark character that borders on inhuman. But you can get past that, there's still something wonderful and worthwhile about his existence, and no matter how much pain he may seemingly bring along with him, the universe needs its Doctor. The entire thing plot is thematically charged, from the loss of innocence, to sacrifice and love, to the thin line that separates justice from vengeance. The production values are high, the villains are hammy in the best possible way, David Tennant turns in his greatest performance, I count at least three different tear-jerkers, and if there was ever a story to prove Martha Jones was a great companion, it's this one. And any show story that tells kids that there is an evil alien girl staring at them whenever they look in a mirror is worth a look in my book. Runner-ups: Midnight: Reaches John Carpenter levels of creepiness and paranoia, the Doctor's alien-ness is turned against him in an interesting way and the cast includes Merlin and Patrick Troughton's son. Silence in the Library/Forest of the Dead: Cathrine Tate turns in some great stuff, the Vashta Nerada are great monsters, and the character of River Song, whether you liked how she ended up or not, is a fantastic concept. Pyramids of Mars: Awesome villain and sense of urgency that just increases as the story moves along. Planet of the Spiders: Jon Pertwee's final episode, which features a satisfying end to his interpretation of the Doctor and uber-creepy back-spiders. Turn Left: A mind blowing observation of how the smallest change in history can have the heaviest consequences, and a dark vision of what a world without the Doctor there to save it looks like. School Reunion: Sarah Jane Smith returned. That is all. Happy Birthday, Doctor. May you keep running forever more. Wait, this is a brony site. Better whip out the Forest Rain. Agree? Disagree? Think I'm an idiot? Rattle off in the comments with your favorites.

    Has your pet ever...

Here's how it works. I post some silly thing my pet has done. The next person posts if their pet has done that to them, along with something else their pet has done. Get it? Okay. Today, my cat made me think she was outside, where she isn't supposed to be. I looked around, but I couldn't find her. I started to freak out, and then I looked up. My cat wasn't outside, but sitting in the windowsill and meowing at me, as if she was hungry. I couldn't belive I had freaked out over nothing. So, has your pet ever made you think they were somewhere they wern't sopposed to be but weren't even there in the first place?

  25. PLEASE NOTE THIS FOR TV SHOWS ONLY. NO MOVIES. I usually am not scared of most things I see on TV. It just doesn't scare me. But there is one TV show I can think of that scares me, even to this day. It scared me as a child, of course, but even today it scares me which is quite the accomplishment. But I love it anyway. This show is called: Courage the Cowardly Dog. There is one scene that terrifies me to this day and I will leave a link below. Be warned, it may give nightmares to the more sensitive people. Anyway, I want to know what the scariest TV show you have ever watched is. Leave responses below.
