Who was your favorite villain so far from the MLP:FiM Franchise? What makes them your favorite? Mine is Discord, because he has amazing power, yet he only uses it to amuse himself. Reality doesn't apply to him at all, he just does what he wants.

A fairly short theory I did all the research and writing for in about three hours. https://www.deviantart.com/cloudmistdragon/art/King-Sombra-is-New-G5-Villain-s-Ancestor-Theory-917393212 This is another expansion theory, supplementing an earlier theory of mine, King Sombra is in G5, with more evidence. In the wake of the premiere of the new Make Your Mark special of Generation 5 of MLP, someone pointed out how the new villain that makes a brief appearance towards the end of the special resembles Radiant Hope, Sombra's childhood friend from the IDW comics. Given the fact that the villain in the special is in a dark room for dramatic effect, the resemblance may not be apparent at first. But even without better lighting, the color scheme is still oddly familiar. Also, make a note of the similarity between the Crystal Heart and the Unity Crystals. Not just in appearance as I pointed out in my King Sombra is in G5 theory, where I said the crystals could've been separated parts of the Crystal Heart. They are also similar in purpose. In the special, it is hatred among the ponies that causes the weather to become tumultuous. And it is love that stabilizes the magic in the Unity Crystals, keeping the weather normal. Wasn't it revealed in Friendship is Magic's The Crystalling that the reason Sombra hid the Heart rather than destroying it was to keep the weather from becoming uncontrollable? It's not just the appearance in regards to the villain either. When I was discussing the possibility of Sombra having descendants in my theory of him being in G5, I also talked a fair bit about his potential relations with Bridlewood Forest and the Tree of Harmony. What do you see in the lair of this villain? Those four jagged structures around her twist like vines or the roots of a plant. And in the special, the earth ponies acquire their own magic once the magic is stabilized, the power to grow plants. Said stabilization is also the reason why the villain determines that this is the right time to make her move. Could the now enhanced earth pony crystal further amplify plant magic of her own? These vine-like structures also have lines ingrained in them that curve like the lines seen in a unicorn's horn. And last, this leads to the final, biggest piece of evidence. The villain's horn. Not only is this horn curved, it starts with a dark color from the bottom and gets progressively brighter as it works its way up to the top, ending with a bright tip, just like King Sombra's horn. Interestingly, this type of color pattern is standard among unicorns in 3D-animated G5 media, but that's another discussion for another day. More intriguing is how the villain's horn is curved, also just like Sombra's horn... Overall, I'm surprised by how much evidence we are already seeing supporting the possibility of Sombra having a presence in G5. People will inevitably argue that Radiant Hope can't share a descendant with Sombra, saying the IDW comics are not actually canon. However, Jeremy Whitley, the writer of Siege of the Crystal Empire and the lead writer of My Little Pony: Season 10, has called the comics "the primary canon" following FiM's conclusion. Regardless, Sombra's backstory in the comics could still be rewritten to fit into the show's timeline. Either way, it's peculiar how we're already seeing another character who bears a likeness to Hope and has a possible connection to Sombra, the first character being Izzy, as I already brought up in my Sombra is in G5 theory. Just for a little bonus, Izzy was recently seen in the tenth episode of Tell Your Tale carrying a cart of gray gemstones, pieces of crystal. Besides black, another trademark color of Sombra's crystals is gray, albeit usually much darker gray. Make Your Mark may not have opened with Sombra returning from the moon, a possibility I briefly mentioned in my King Sombra in the Moon theory, but I do enjoy the evidence it gave us in an unexpected form. However, speaking of that theory, I have one more bonus to throw in. I was satisfied with the evidence I presented in that theory supporting the notion that it was Sombra's image on the moon and not Nightmare Moon's. But there was one more feature about the eye that I completely missed. There's something about it that's very difficult to see in the light. Can you guess what it is? If you still can't catch it, try darkening the image. You can now see distinct traces of colors of green and red, the colors found in Sombra's eyes. This is what it looks like compared to an image of Sombra's eye. Only Sombra's pupil is red, not the outer area of his eye, which is green. But more importantly, why does color remain in his eye at all? Are these the remnants of an image that was drawn over? Sombra is admittedly not an easy character to draw, much less draw to fit on the moon. Could an image for him on the moon have actually been an already existing shot overlayed with light? Or were those colors left there intentionally? You decide. And so concludes what became an expansion of two Sombra theories. Let's continue to see what else is in store for the shadow king in the new generation.

King Sombra looks like a vampire?

I had the weirdest pony-related dream last night. In it, King Sombra was on this snowy plain looking up at the moon. Three eyes were on the moon with yellow, blue, pink, and white colors. A fourth eye appeared on it, and something that looked like Pinkie Pie's soul appeared in that eye when the view moved closer to the moon. When the view moved back to Sombra, he had this concerned look on his face before souls came out of the eyes on the moon and went into his eyes, turning them green with his purple haze exuding from them. I don't remember if this my first time dreaming about pony or not, but I know for sure I've never had a pony dream THAT BIZARRE before.

Considering the infamous election America is suffering from this year, my brain hatched a pretty stupid idea for a thread. Who would you rather have as one to rule over you and all around you, Queen Chrysalis, or King Sombra? A changeling, or an Umbrum? A parasite, or a most likely possible nutcase?<--- (Sounds familiar, don't it?) Feel free to explain as to why you believe your choice is the best case scenario out of these two worse case scenarios. I see lots of people doing the same for Trump and Clinton, so go right ahead just for the heck of it right here.

Synopsis: Following the events of The Last Problem many years later, what begins as a tale of Twilight mourning the loss of her last friend to leave the mortal world becomes a story involving deep, inner conflict of two destinies in the cosmos. In a world where light and darkness can not exist without each other and the living become one with either the stars or the blackness in the sky upon their passing, one must wonder what happens when Twilight Sparkle's friends pass away from the world and meet King Sombra. As the two begin to question their destinies, they begin to wonder what would happen if their roles were reversed... You can read the first chapter on FIMFiction.net... https://www.fimfiction.net/story/502451/the-shadow-and-the-star Or here... Chapter 1: A Tale of Two Destinies Light and darkness…the stories tell that one can not exist without the other…this is one of those stories, where most of Equestria knows this, and can sense that after death, their energies will coalesce into either a star or a shadow, becoming one with either light or darkness… Those who carry out the will of the light while they are alive become one with the stars after death, and those who carry out the will of the darkness while they are alive will become one with the creations of the void. Light is not necessarily good, and darkness is not necessarily evil. The destruction the void brings is a product of hopelessness, though it is far more often the darkness that spreads hopelessness, the will of the void to the world. Light far more often spreads hope, thus the two forces will always be in conflict. Sometimes, the darkness will win. The void will take away those we love through death. But the light gives us a chance to create something everlasting to share with others through life. This is what gives the light, and in turn, our lives, purpose. The power of light is the power to create something from the void. All of these things are known by Twilight Sparkle’s friends. Unfortunately, now, however, they have died. For our story begins many years following Twilight Sparkle’s ascension to the throne, assuming her role as the leader of Equestria, where her friend whose kindness allowed her to comprehend these things best has been called to the great beyond… Inside Fluttershy’s cottage, tears were falling to the floor while two of Fluttershy’s closest friends were sniffing and sobbing… “I can’t believe this…she’s actually gone…” Princess Twilight Sparkle and Discord were crying their eyes out over Fluttershy’s bed alongside all of her animals, a motley crowd that included creatures of all kinds from bunnies to flamingoes. Fluttershy had died. Twilight despondently used her magic to pull the cover she was under over her head as a way to show respect to the last of her five closest friends to depart from this mortal plane. “How did this happen?” a mournful Twilight had asked herself in thought with a heavy heart at Fluttershy’s funeral, which was held before she was buried alongside Twilight’s other friends, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, and Rarity. She was now standing by where all of her friends were buried, staring at their tombstones as if she was mesmerized, an hour passing by in her mind as if it were only a few minutes. “How could all my friends leave me like this?” she asked herself another difficult question her heart had trouble taking. “I knew it had to happen one day…and that the pain was going to be unbearable…but why like this? I just know they could’ve lived longer…but instead they’ve all died the same death…they all passed away only months apart from each other…it’s as if this was planned by unseen forces…” Twilight was referring to the fact that each one of her friends had died of a heart attack in their sleep. Despite the fact that none of them had shown any signs of illness or serious condition before their passing, they had still left her while they still should have had some time left. In spite of that, every several months, each one of them would go to bed, then not wake up the next day. “I knew that having to endure this was my inevitable fate, possessing immortality…” she thought somberly. “And I’m glad that they all went peacefully, but…now that it’s actually happened…no, even just remembering how it played out…” Applejack had been the first to go. Her death devastated her still living siblings when it happened, yet Big McIntosh and Apple Bloom quickly recuperated, knowing that Applejack would’ve wanted them to move on. They knew it wouldn’t be long before they too would meet their fallen family relatives in the stars. One of Twilight’s friends, however, did not take it as well… Rainbow Dash was especially upset. Pinkie Pie had tried to cheer her up despite being sad herself, but Rainbow took it the wrong way as a lack of consideration and yelled at her, leading the two to get into a fight. They later apologized to each other, but their relationship was not the same after that. After Rainbow died, Pinkie lost her appetite for sweets, developing a habit for baking cakes, not to indulge in or give to any pony, just to decorate and let sit on the counter. Her Pinkie sense said her time was coming, after all. Her eventual death was not taken as well by her family as Applejack’s. By then, both of Pinkie’s parents were already dead, and while Applejack’s family farm still succeeded financially, the finances of Pinkie’s family farm plummeted, and most of her relatives still suffer from chronic depression. Rarity was the last to go before Fluttershy. Sensing that she was destined to suffer the same fate as her other friends, she entrusted her business to Coco Pommel and spent her last days of mortal life preparing dresses for Coco, Fluttershy, and Twilight, in addition to a will that allowed Spike to inherit her most prized gem, the one he gave her that day he confessed his crush to her… Once Rarity had passed away, Fluttershy knew she was next. She wore the dress Rarity had made for her every day out of respect, spending her last days of mortal life taking especially good care of her animals and devotedly practicing meditation. On the day before she took her final rest, she was discussing the things her meditation had awakened her to with Discord. She told him that her friends dying the same way in succession was no coincidence, that they were being called to the stars by the will of the light… “Please tell Twilight…to believe in us if we are called to do something she won’t understand…” Discord had told Twilight what Fluttershy had relayed to him at her funeral. “The light works in mysterious ways…but you must not lose hope…hope gives the light power and darkness is needed for us to grow stronger too…but hopelessness will only give power to the void…” “What did she mean by that?” Twilight asked with concern. “I’m not certain…” Discord answered, disillusioned and with equal concern. “But I have a theory. Do you know why I did something as dubious as bringing back all those villains to test you?” “Yes?” Twilight replied. “Neither do I.” Discord told her solemnly, surprising her. “I was just doing what came to me naturally at the time. As the spirit of chaos, it is in my nature to disrupt the order of the light. However, I can only go as far as the powers that be allow me to. If the light willed it, I could disappear from this world right this moment. If only I was the one the light had allowed the darkness to take…” “So that time when you brought back King Sombra…” Twilight said in reminisce. “Could you only do so then because the light allowed you to?” “I’ve never had the power to bring back the dead, if that’s what you’re alluding to.” Discord gave her another solemn response that she had this time somewhat expected. “Sombra was not dead, only dispelled. As he is now…” Twilight stood silent, even though she had also somewhat expected this too. Deep down inside, she always knew that the light of her friendship couldn’t truly destroy another pony, not even one as evil as Sombra. She even felt a sense of relief…before a dark thought dawned on her… “You don’t think…” she murmured, worried. “That Sombra has something to do with this, do you?” “I doubt it.” Discord blankly replied to dispel her fears. “I was actually incapable of bringing him back after you and your friends dispelled him for the second time. The first time he was defeated, his particles had been scattered into the ether. The second time, he had actually been banished to the moon.” “How can you be so sure he has nothing to do with this?” Twilight asked, unconvinced. “Before we dispelled Sombra for good, we blasted him with the Elements, causing his body to disintegrate. Yet he was still capable of returning. And if Nightmare Moon was able to escape from the moon, why can’t Sombra?” “Remember that Nightmare Moon did not free herself from the moon.” Discord reminded her. “It was the stars that aided in her escape.” Twilight then recalled what Big McIntosh and Apple Bloom had said about meeting their late relatives in the stars, putting it together with what Discord had told her about what Fluttershy had said…and felt a disturbing premonition… She took a deep breath, practicing the breathing technique Cadance had taught her decades ago to try and relax herself. “Keep it together, Twilight…” she told herself in thought. “There’s no way my friends would ever help Sombra…let alone allow themselves to be killed by him.” “Twilight…” Discord interjected, reading her thoughts. “You shouldn’t doubt your friends for a second. You can’t allow yourself to be consumed by irrational thought, even in this trialing hour. Your friends wouldn’t want to see you like this, would they?” “No, of course they wouldn’t.” Twilight answered sincerely, feeling shame. “I’m just worried that…maybe I’m the reason they all left this world so suddenly. They were getting to be of old age, meanwhile I’m in a body that will never grow old or die…am I just a selfish pony they didn’t want to be around anymore?” “I think they’d be even more upset to see you consumed by self-deprecating thought…” Discord admonished her in frustration. “If you don’t want to be immortal anymore, you may ascend the same way Celestia and Luna did, leaving Luster Dawn to rule in your stead.” “The thought has crossed my mind many times, I assure you.” Twilight retorted, feeling frustrated herself, but also feeling that Discord was trying to be cruel to be to kind. “But I can’t shake this premonition. I feel there’s still one thing I have left to do before my destiny is truly fulfilled…” Twilight looked back at her cutie mark as she uttered that last sentence… “I respect your decision.” Discord said with sincerity. “I, however, do not wish to linger in a world without Fluttershy, my first and dearest friend. Starting today, I am retiring to the dimension of chaos for good.” Discord clicked his fingers and made a blue portal appear behind him. “Though I will tell you one more thing before I go…” “That is…?” Twilight asked curiously. “Even if your friends did do what you suspected them of, never doubt them.” he told her seriously, which had Twilight taken aback by his tone. “Even an immortal being like yourself must learn that one can not have an earthly understanding when making a judgment of a cosmic situation.” “Discord…” Twilight reacted in surprise. “You…” Discord didn’t say another word before he stepped into the portal, closing it behind him. “I was lying…” he thought. “I do know why I did what I did. Having good intentions and acting on my nature, that’s just as far as a mortal understanding of my actions can go. The painful truth one can only see with a cosmic outlook is that I am a part of the world’s darkness that must return to it…you and your friends were a light I wanted to see shine before I left…” Discord clicked his fingers again, proving the truth of his words in thought as he began to disintegrate into particles of darkness, just as Sombra had long ago… “However, I can not help you anymore…for in order to pass the test you must take before you can ascend as your mentors did, you must put yourself in place of the darkness…” With those words, Discord’s particles finished dispersing into the world of chaos. Twilight, getting ready to return home, felt a compulsion to look up at the sky after feeling a chilling sensation, and saw a black swirl briefly appear and disappear. “Discord is dead now too…” she realized in a state of disbelief. “I was just talking to him…” Twilight then collapsed to the ground and put her front hooves on her head before she looked up to the sky and screamed. “GGGGGRRRRRAAAAAGGGGGHHHHH!” she bellowed in tears. “I CAN’T TAKE IT ANYMORE! IF I’M THE PRINCESS OF FRIENDSHIP, HOW CAN THIS BE MY DESTINY?! WHY AM I ALL ALONE?!” Twilight didn’t know it then, but things had been allowed to transpire this way for a reason, a reason that was meant to be revealed by the sky that night… She wept… Now a star in the night sky, Fluttershy was mourning over Discord’s death, as he had mourned hers… “Oh, would you lighten up?” a familiar shadow told the star coldly. “New parts of the void and the light are born here from the dead every day. You’d never have enough tears for all the souls in the galaxy.” “Oh, cut her some slack, you varmint!” Applejack, also a star now, scolded the shadow in the moon beside her. “She just got here!” “And it’s not exactly a badge of honor to proudly display,” mocked Rainbow Dash, also a star close to the moon, “the fact that you got here so much sooner than we did by losing to us spectacularly!” The visage of an angry King Sombra was made visible on the moon, revealing that the shadow in the moon they were speaking to was indeed him. “IF YOU EVER REMIND ME OF THAT DISGRACE AGAIN-” “It’s fine, girls.” Fluttershy interjected calmly, surprising both her friends and Sombra. “He has a point. We all have to do what we still can for the living. Right now, Twilight needs our help.” Pinkie Pie and Rarity, both stars now too that were in between Fluttershy and the rest of the group, concurred. “Yeah, what are we waiting for?!” Pinkie cried excitedly. “Let’s get this party in space started with a BIG BANG!” “Twilight simply adores stargazing!” Rarity exclaimed, also enthusiastic. “Once she sees us five showing off such a dazzling gleam, she’ll immediately recognize that it’s us sending her a sign to never give up on hope!” Sombra groaned, feeling he would throw up if he was still able to. “Aren’t any of you in the least bit nervous of the fact that in order to make this grand light show of “hope” possible, you will have to free your greatest nemesis from captivity?” Sombra reminded them. The five friends turned to each other for a second before they all began to laugh. “Greatest nemesis, ha ha ha!” Pinkie guffawed. “Why would we be nervous when our power’s greater than yours?” Applejack taunted him. “And after we release you, our power will be greater than ever!” Rainbow exclaimed confidently. “You’re not even comparable to a prisoner on parole, you’re more like a power-up in a video game, heh heh!” “At this point, it means nothing whether or not you are freed.” Rarity chimed in. “Your darkness is a complement to the power of our light. The will of the light would never allow us to free you otherwise.” “And once you are brought out here, we’ll be able to create so many beautiful new stars from your darkness that will inspire not just Twilight, but future generations to come!” Fluttershy exclaimed happily. “We all get new opportunities! It’s the best possible win-win!” The cheers and jeers of Twilight’s friends left Sombra feeling crestfallen in deep thought. “This is an even worse punishment than being destroyed or imprisoned…” he discovered in horror. “The realization of the fact of just how little Twilight and her friends fear me now…even freed, it is as if I’m their slave…” Looking upon those happy stars, the shadow grew ever envious… “Why was I born to become part of the darkness?” he questioned angrily. “Why couldn’t my destiny have been with the light?” Sombra didn’t know at the time, but soon, he would have an answer to that question. What it would’ve been like if roles were reversed… A large light suddenly sparkled… Behind the moon, six stars glowed forebodingly, forming a familiar pattern… Down below, Twilight looked up at the evening sky from the window of her castle bedroom, knowing it was almost time to raise the moon, and saw the mark of her destiny beaming. “What if this wasn’t my destiny?” she asked herself sadly. “What if I had never made friends, just staying in the darkness alone my whole life?” The six stars continued to silently shed their light…for having appeared from another dimension, they knew that the courses of their destinies could be altered… They know both their stories…

\ People with a God complex think that they have divine, God-like powers and are above all mankind. They believe that they are capable enough to take extreme risks and shun the rules of society. 1. Sense of entitlement As these people consider themselves to be special, they always expect to receive favorable treatment when compared to those around them. They believe that they should always get what they want and expect others to comply with their wishes and demands. If you claim to be unable to meet their needs, they will deem you as useless. They also do not take such responses lightly and will use aggression to call you out for your incompetence this does fit king sombra seeing that his heart is as black as night 2. Grandiose sense of self-importance This trait is characterized by an unrealistic sense of superiority where the individual believes that they are special and unique; thus, they can only relate and be understood by similar people. As they claim to be above average, they desire to be associated with people, things, and places that have high status. They believe to be better than everyone else and expect to be recognized for this, even without doing anything significant. They are also known to exaggerate their talents and achievements. When talking about relationships, they rant about how much they contribute without mentioning the impact of any other party involved. They claim to be a great friend, partner, family member, or business associate and consider the people in their lives lucky to have them. well probably sombra might have an Grandiose sense of self importance 3. Exploitation of others These kinds of people lack the ability to identify with others. In other terms, they lack empathy and cannot put themselves in another person’s shoes to try and understand them. This is because they view others as objects to serve their needs. Therefore, they take advantage of others whenever they need something said or done without caring how it will affect them. Generally, they do not care how their behavior affects those around them. If you try to point it out, they will not understand as they only care about their needs and how they benefit from any situation. king sombra well he only care about himself 4. Living in a world of fantasy As reality does not support their grandiose view of themselves, they live in a fantasy world that is characterized by magical thinking, distortion, and self-deception. To make them feel like they are in control and unique from within, they spin self-glorifying fantasies of attractiveness, power, ideal love, success, and brilliance. These fantasies are meant to protect them from feeling empty and shame. Therefore, any facts and opinions brought up contradicting their fantasy are dismissed. Any comments or opinions that threaten to burst their fantasy bubble can be met with rage or extreme defensiveness. Therefore, those around such individuals learn to be careful about how they address issues with them as a result of their denial of reality. Probably sombra know about Reality 5. Demeaning, bullying, intimidating and belittling others When they meet people who appear to have something they lack, they tend to feel threatened. They do not like to feel challenged, especially by individuals that are quite popular or seem confident. Therefore, they neutralize the threat by trying to bring the threat down. This can be done by dismissing their opinions or even ignoring their presence. Sometimes, they go to the extend of insulting, bullying, or even using threats. King sombra might feel Threatened and would try to destroy the theat 6. Need for constant praise and admiration To keep them feeling like a god, these individuals need their ego fed. They try to surround themselves with those that constantly compliment them as they crave for affirmations at all times. As these relationships are often one-sided and most times, they never last for long. If the attention of the admirer is diverted, interrupted, or diminishes, the admired sees it as a betrayal. King sombra does kind of want praise and admiration does King sombra have a God Complex

We already have a very charming, waifu stoler version of King Sombra that could rivalize Squidward´s handsomeness. So... Can you imagine alternate versions of characters like Discord, Trixie, Chrysalis, Celestia, Luna, Tirek and the mane 6 in a similar way (for the villains) or in a not-so-charming way (for the heroes)? Let your imagination flow and describe them.

When Cletus was born from a psychiatry hospital, his heart stopped beating for a few minutes. Then Cletus was revived by Knull to be the one to free him from Klyntar. As a result, Cletus showed psychopathic and sadistic traits: he was completely unemotional and remorseless individual who took great pleasure in killing his own mother's pet and grandmother, and even tried to kill his mother that encites the tense argument that led to his mother's death and his father's incarceration. The said negative traits escalated to more catastrophic scale over time during his stay in St. Estes Home for Boys, as abuse that Cletus received further made him even more evil that he acquired philosophy that life was essentially meaningless and futile, that "laws are only words", and came to see the spreading of chaos through random, unpatterned bloodshed as "the ultimate freedom". When becoming Carnage, his sadism and depravity proved to be one of his greatest assets: his symbiote, which spawned from Venom's by the time it freed Brock from the prison, would feed on his hatred and rage over the world as fuel to enhanced its powers. Not just sadistic and cruel, Kasady also become a completely treacherous, horrifying, and depraved supervillain who proved to be an extremely despicable and dangerous advesary for both his worst enemies, Spider-Man and Venom. Cletus Kasady is schizophrenic, enabling him to activate extra-terrestrial episodes of paranoia and delusion to transform into the demonic alien symbiote of Carnage. The symbiote has a considerably stronger bond with Kasady than its father has with its hosts. This is indicated by the fact that Kasady has predominantly used the term "I", as opposed to his father's use of "we". However, even though the bond between host and symbiote is strong, it has left Kasady several times to find more powerful hosts. It has bounded with John Jameson, Ben Reily (at the time referred to as Spider-Carnage) and the Silver Surfer (forming The Carnage Cosmic) but it always ended up back on Kasady is if it were his familiar. Eventually it and Kasady met their end while escaping "The Raft", a prison for super powered people. He was ripped apart by Sentry in outer space. The symbiote survived by becoming dormant and returned to Earth, but was found by Michael Hall, who used the symbiote to create prosthesis and super-guards. The Doppelganger and Shriek return, hoping to repair the symbiote. Vs n his true form, King Sombra is a demonic unicorn with a gray coat, red eyes with dragon-slits, a flowing black mane and tail, a red curved horn and sharp teeth. His attire consists of metal armor, a red royal mantle and a grey helm with two curved spikes on each side, a tiny cylinder on the front between two red spikes and three black parts that cover his muzzle and sides of his face. By Season 9, the grey lines on the muzzle part of the helm are gone. At some points, his irises become green with purple smoke coming out, and when forcing anypony to see their worst fears, his eyes turn completely green with the pupils disappearing for a moment. In shadow form, Sombra appears as a shadowy mass with only his eyes visible. Later, he shows off his muzzle, two fangs and his horn. Personality Compared to other villains on the show, King Sombra's personality is not too elaborated on. Instead, he is little more than a dark and looming menace for most of the episode. He has very few speaking lines, some of them are partially incoherent, and is a very mysterious character, whose backstory is limited to the fact that he enslaved the crystal ponies. The source of his dark powers and his motivations remain an enigma. However, he is shown to be extremely cruel, fierce, brutal, sadistic, heartless, destructive, merciless, and wicked, viewing crystal ponies as nothing more than his slaves, using fear on them and other characters, and licking his lips as the prospect of possibly killing Spike (although he may have primarily been after the Crystal Heart). He is also shown to be tyrannical, manipulative, and power-hungry. In his altered future, he tried to take over the rest of Equestria once retaking the Crystal Empire, becoming a dark age of war and conquest. He is believed to be one of the most evil and darkest villains in the show. Sombra appears to be intelligent and cunning, as he seemingly thought ahead of his enemies and placed a curse upon the empire to disappear if he gets defeated, and cleverly booby-trapped the path to the Crystal Heart. Twilight fell for every one of his traps, more than one of which would have defeated Twilight Sparkle if not for Spike. After his return, recognizing that the Elements of Harmony could threaten him, he made a plan to pretend to be vanquished to secretly follow them to the Tree of Harmony and successfully destroy it and the Elements. Despite his intellect he was extremely arrogant, making him stupid enough to think he can defeat the Mane 6 on his own which led to Twilight and her friends outsmarting him back with the magic of friendship with no elements when it shows they don't need them anymore much to Sombra's shock. After his resurrection, he is shown to be pompous and dangerously overconfident, foolish enough to deny working with the evil alliance formed by Discord in the form of the ancient Grogar, in favor of taking Equestria for himself and ignoring his warnings about working together, which ultimately proved to be his downfall. Examples of this inflated ego, include leaving the Mane Six trapped in his crystal cage instead of brainwashing them, because he wanted them to watch him conquer Ponyville, immediately assuming the princesses are afraid to face him when he finds the throne room empty in Canterlot Castle when really they were otherwise engaged, and quickly boasting that he is the most powerful creature in Equestria when striking down Discord (who was really faking it), ignoring the fact it was just a lucky shot because Discord was protecting Fluttershy Who would win in a Fight?

So, unless I'm sorely mistaken, we've never seen King Sombra's cutie mark, as he's always been wearing robes or armor, actually, most of the time in shadow form. It seems hilarious and unthinkable for him to be a blank flank (god, imagine him going cutie mark hunting with the CMC), what do you suppose his cutie mark would be? I think a couple of black crystals would make sense, or some swirly design of red/black lightning.

I don't like Sombra very much, personally, but I'm open to change! Tell me your opinions of the ol' crystal boi!

King Sombra sometimes has green eyes with this purple fire/magic thing, but his eyes can look pretty normal too. What do you think is that and when do his eyes look like this? Does it affect him e.g. makes his magic more powerful? Somra is the only character I saw whose eyes can look that way.

Note: Not exactly sure where to post this. Just say he comes fully back to life and gets his hooves on The Alicorn Amulet? I think all bucking hell would be unleashed. It would be awesome! Someone talented writer gotta write that! He's probably become as powerful like the dark lord Morgoth.

Ahh yes, King Sombra. Famous for being one of the worst and most underdeveloped characters in the entire series. It seemed like he could of had more potential and screen time. Anyway, this kind of serves as a discussion thread and a thread for listing all the possibilities that Sombra could have had.

Now with The Trading Card saying he might return and Meghan McCarthy Saying that she wanted to do more with him than he was at season opener, It is safe to assume that even though he is dead he might return The same way The Lich returned. however this isnt about is he going to return or not. this is about If He returns should he be redeemed or not. Personaly I prefere not because He is the only Pure Evil character in G4 and redeeming him would be like The Lich being redeemed

Spoiler Warning! This story takes place after the events of the final episodes! https://www.fimfiction.net/story/451309/the-last-lesson This is a three-part story (I'll be posting the next two parts between now and November 1st) meant to fill a "plothole" in the show of how the Student 6 would overcome the resentment they would inevitably feel over learning of the Tree of Harmony being indirectly destroyed by Discord. Though I love the finale and know of the Season 10 comic, I want to write my own interpretation of this potential storyline.

DISCLAIMER: SPOILERS FOR SEASON 9 FINALE! ONLY WARNING! So, this is something that I have been giving some thought. We know that Sombra is fairly full of himself and is only out for himself. Nothing in any of his canon appearances really dispute that, and it's really no surprise that he turns down Grogar's offer to form an alliance. Again, we're talking about a pony whose "heart is as black as night" with little to no remorse present., and has shown himself fully capable of waging war. That said...what if King Sombra actually knew that Grogar was in fact really Discord, or at least knew something was off? Yes, there's nothing that explicitly supports that as fact, but at the same time Sombra's mannerisms toward the ram made me think a little. Do you remember just how dismissive he was towards Grogar going by his facial expressions? "I too have heard of the first Emperor of Equestria. The "father of monsters."" Of course, that look he gave Grogar can mean many things, but for the sake of argument, let's consider that "father of monsters" was a sort of slander, knowing that this was the chaotic trickster all along and not the first Emperor of Equestria. Or at least; he suspected something was off. In any case, my main point is that Sombra was not impressed or intimidated like the other three were. Again, he's full of himself and he's shown himself able to wage war so his over-confidence is most likely here, but I also like to think that he knew something was off with the old goat and wanted no part of an alliance. Sombra has shown himself to be very intelligent, so the possibility is there. That said, I realize this is a long shot, but it's an idea I wanted to share. :p
