  1. As some of you may know, the Area 51 raid is today. What are your thoughts on this? My thoughts is that the people who are actually there are going to have a real bad time.
  2. I don't know if you are serious or not, but let's consider this: the Moon landing program involved thousands of people designing/building the rockets, lots of people over multiple countries tracking them (since if the spacecraft is on the other side of the planet you cannot get a radio signal to/from it so you need a tracking stations in Europe, Australia etc that would relay the signal back to the mission control). In fact, the video of the first steps on the Moon was received by a tracking station in Australia, not the US. So, you would need to pay off all of those people to make them quiet. And be sure that everybody stays quiet. It would take a lot of money. But, even if the US government did so, there was still the USSR. At the time the US and the USSR were in a fierce space race. If the landing was faked, the USSR would have found out about it since they had their own space program and tracing stations (also, Russian spies managed to copy pretty much all of the documents from the Manhattan project and Russian security was good enough that the US didn't know that the USSR has built a copy of the Fat Man until it was tested). So, the Russians would have had lots of fun exposing "the lies of the corrupt capitalist pigs" and then landed a man on the Moon themselves to prove that Communism is a superior system. Or the US would have to pay off the USSR as well. I actually don't know what it would have cost them to do that. To make the Russians concede defeat when they knew it was a lie would have taken a lot and not just money. And then, for what purpose? To fool the general public? What would have been achieved with that? It's also funny to me when I read about conspiracy theories that predict the end of the world (a large asteroid etc). Yes, the government is keeping it secret, so when everybody dies it would be a surprise.
  3. This is for people who live in Florida, lets hope everypony / everybody stay safe and keep updated ! ^^ also see it from space !
  4. Something more positive, albeit bittersweet. This great man refused to be rescued so that his family of seven could be saved from drowning. Let us honor the good in this man and the good in people.
  5. No MeToo crap here, they caught a real pedophile this time. Let's just hope that he doesn't weasel his way out of punishment.
  6. Received My '' Copyright Non-Infringement Opinion'' Letter from my Lawyer today... This is Wonderful News Now i can Proceed further Writing my Novel Series,.. And illustrate more New Characters from My Copyrighted Designs.. Trademarked Registration in Canada. So Far Looks Good. Once Finalized, plan to Trademark in USA Next. Awesome..
  7. If MeToo hadn't gone too far already... Awful story with a hopefully obvious moral.
  8. Minecraft has made history today by replacing Tetris as the holder for best selling video game of all time. This was announced by Mojang 2 days after the game celebrated it's 10th anniversary. Your thoughts on this news? To me, it's amazing to see this game start off as a Java-applet to a pop culture legend. One would know it's even impossible now to not imagine video gaming without Minecraft.
  9. For all of you US citizens, there's another "oh so wonderful" scam going around that can get you if you're not careful. The scammers claim they're from the Social Security Administration and your "social security number is suspended." Hint: that's not a thing. More info: Similar to those IRS scams that float around every year. Pretty sure, much like the IRS, the SSA will contact you via certified mail and not by phone. Be careful if you get any calls claiming to be the SSA. I've gotten five of the goddamn things today but I blocked the number.
  11. Discussion thread on Japan's new era, Reiwa. The current era, Heisei, will end this Tuesday. Akihito will abdicate the throne after 30 years as Japan's emperor. His son Naruhito will become the new emperor of Japan. The last time an emperor ever abdicated in Japan was in 1817 (202 years ago). Photo overview of Akhitio and his life in the Japanese royal family: Info about the upcoming emperor:'s-new-emperor-naruhito-a-cosmopolitan-team-player What are your thoughts on this? For me, Heisei will be looked back on as a memorable childhood when us Westerners experienced the golden age of Japanese pop culture. I'm hoping Reiwa will bring positive fortunes to the people of Japan as they have been through alot of hard times as of late.
  12. I know that some of you may not follow politics, but this is something that has a major impact on you especially if you live in the European Union (EU). The EU Parliament plans to pass a law that would make copyrighted content on the internet illegal in the EU. This would be disastrous to European bronies, as many aspects of online brony culture such as posting fan art and fan fiction would be illegal if this passes. If you live in the European Union, I urge you to visit this website Tell your friends, family, and followers and do everything you can to fight Article 13. I may not be a European citizen, but I am a brony, and I wish to do everything I can to help my brothers and sisters in Europe.
  13. Imagine attending church on Easter only to be killed by terrorists, these madmen. I don't mean to fear monger, but this raises some suspicion about the recent Notre Dame fire as well, which very well might not have been an accident.
  14. During Notre Dame Cathedral's renovations, a fire suddenly burst and spread across the building. The Central Tower has already been compromised, and the roof has collapsed. Firefighters are giving their best efforts to save the Cathedral and the various arts which lie in it. It is such a shame to see an iconic mark of French Gothic Architecture, which has stood since the 13th century, be put into serious jeopardy so suddenly. Let us all hope the Cathedral can be salvaged... but that remains to be seen. Fortunately, there have not been any recorded casualties thus far.
  15. Yes, that is the title. For those of you unaware, there’s a deadly disease spreading among elk and deer in the United States, and now experts are warning that it may one day be transmittable to humans who eat meat from wild game. The infection, known as chronic wasting disease, is related to bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE), also known as mad cow disease—which explains the equally terrifying nickname this illness has been given: zombie deer disease. More general information (recommended): More details regarding the disease: Do you think that we, as humans, should be worried about this disease? I am a veterinary technician so my knowledge on zoonotic diseases is pretty fair. With that being said, I do not believe that we have reason to worry about this disease spreading to us at the moment.
  16. Hi, it's Justin Case. After another long hiatus, I'm back with an all new episode! Y'know what really grinds my gears? Newspaper articles. I hate how they stop and continue on another page in another section. I understand why they do it, but I think it's f*ckin' bullsh*t. I DON'T WANT TO CONTINUE ON D9! I WANT TO READ THE WHOLE THING RIGHT HERE IN ONE CONTINUOUS SECTION, GOD DAMMIT! Thanks for joining me. This has been What Really Grinds My Gears.
  17. Alaska's largest city has been hit by a 7.0 magnitude earthquake, the strongest it's dealt with in a long time. Best of luck to my fellow Alaskans.
  18. For the second time ever, Milwaukee's own Ponyville Ciderfest has been featured on the news. (fun fact: that's me at the start, walking into the hotel) And now for this year, our record breaking attended 5th con.
  19. Even if you are not a fan of My Little Pony, this is bad news all around in the Toy Industry. Toy giant Toys R Us may be expecting to liquidate its assets starting next week, Source: Even with their recent failures, it's going to be really sad if Toys R Us does go out of business. It will be bad for toy makers like Hasbro, Mattel and LEGO, not to mention lesser toy makers like NECA, Mezco and Jakks Pacific will be affected even further since they rely on Toys R Us for their sales. Even worse, other merchant stores like Target and Walmart are also affected by sluggish sales due to the rise of Amazon and the likes. The end of an era if this is true. And I still go to their store from time to time.
  20. Because we have tropical storms and hurricanes during the hurricane season from June 1st to November 30th each year, are you prepared for the hurricane season? We have most of the hurricanes around in the month of September in the Atlantic Ocean. When you live near the beach before the hurricane makes landfall, we have storm surges with ocean waters raised by the storm, so I'll tell you all to drive or fly away from the beach area as quickly as possible. Last year, my home city was impacted by Hurricane Harvey, it made landfall in Texas at Category 4 status and we had high water floods around the city of Houston, but my house didn't get flooded so I stayed safe at home along with my family with a break from school for 10 school days (or 2 school weeks). Hurricane Irma impacted the Caribbean Islands and Florida with major flooding and damage; and Hurricane Maria knocked out all the power in Puerto Rico and leaving the whole island powerless for a few months. I believe all of you are going to be prepared for the hurricane season because it is important that you prepare for yourselves for potential tropical storms and hurricanes based on its path on where you live. I will continuously track tropical cyclones in the Atlantic area during the hurricane season. Hurricane categories are based on the Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale (SSHWS), the tropical cyclone must have at least 74 mph to attain a hurricane status, major hurricanes are Category 3 or higher with 110 mph sustained winds, and Category 5 hurricanes have sustained winds exceeding 156 mph. As of yesterday, Tropical Storm Aletta was formed in the Pacific Ocean and it became a first named storm of the 2018 Pacific hurricane season. They expect that to become a hurricane in a few days later.
  21. The dog days are not over. As most of you may know, what began as a tropical storm and is now a category 4 hurricane is making its way towards the US east coast. Areas affected are the Carolinas, Maryland, and Virginia. I'm in Richmond, Virginia, located in the dark orange band of the above image. We aren't supposed to get the worst of it, but from what I've heard it's going to suck. Last I knew, Florence is supposed to reach us sometime Thursday. I hope all of you in the affected areas are prepared or evacuated.
  22. I was just wondering if any fellow bronies on these forums were avid listeners of the podcast, Pod Save America? I personally can't get enough of these guys.
  23. How do I know? Because they charged us money to watch the actual battle after months of hyping us up for it and having multiple Logan vs KSI cons. If anyone watched the battle without paying Logan and KSI, then they were doing it illegally and it will probably be removed because Logan said it himself. Here is the link to the video where Logan announces that watching the fight is not going to be free:
  24. As of fourty two minutes before this post, MLP Forums has received it's fourty thousand and ninth member. 25. I played Shenmue when I was 13, and I loved every minute of it, now seeing it getting rereleased onto Steam makes me excited!
