  8. My friend Lucas has an uncle who is a MAJOR video game collector, he lives in Brazil. He claims to have the hard drive that contains the ROM of Conker 64. Lucas says his Uncle said the computer is really old, and needs fixing, but the hard drive is completely fine. This is NOT a prank (Although he may be pranking me), this is real news!
  9. Now I just want to start off by saying, I love The Legend of Zelda. I grew up with it, and, in fact, Ocarina of Time was the very first video game I ever played. I loved it more than anything in the world. As a mindless 4-year old blowing through the Shadow Temple with nightmares to spare, I was always in awe at how a boy no older than myself, was able to traverse across the vast lands of Hyrule and defend an entire kingdom from Ganondorf. Ocarina of Time will always stay in my heart as the best game to ever exist. 10/10 -IGN But while making my way through the death traps in the Bottom of the Well, I caught wind that there was yet another Zelda game on the 64. The name of the game was The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. Now, back then, there was no way for a toddler to get his crumby hands on Dial-Up, at least, not for me. So I managed to forget about it and move on. Nearly 8 years later, the name once again arises with a remake on the Nintendo 3DS, a handheld console that I still would argue is superior to the PSVita, a gaming equivalent to MySpace and Windows Vista. (Vita, Vista, huh. I wonder if there's a connection) Having remembered the brilliant adventures of the masterpiece Ocarina of Time, I set off to find myself the original cartridge for this mysterious successor. Another year or two passed until I managed to find myself a Gold Cart copy of Majora's Mask for about 60 bucks with a replicated Expansion Pak of the same price. Slamming the cartridge in my system, I booted it up and started a file named "BEN", in respect to the Creepypasta. Back then, and now, I like to play 3D Zelda games with a challenge known as the "3-Heart Challenge", where, the player rejects all heart pieces and containers dropped or earned. Let me just say, the adventure on the original system would never compare to what the 3DS had to offer. I often complain that games today are simply too easy. Anyone can pick up and play them without dying once, hence why I like to revert back to a remake's original. Majora's Mask was a rage inducing nightmare that I truly enjoyed. Everything about it was familiar, chaotic, and absolutely impossible. Having bought the 3DS remake beforehand, I thought I knew everything about the game. WRONG. I can list everything they changed from the original right here, and right now. Of course, I'm not going to, but just about every boss battle was changed to make it more "paced", items were changed from their location. The Bombers' Notebook had no purpose in the original, but, that didn't bother me. I like to call the new game a well-deserved reboot. I like the remake, but the original is so much better. I found myself stomping around my room, tossing my controller on the floor, and screaming at my 2x2 VCR TV while drinking Pepsi more than enough times. It was the most excitement I'd felt in the longest time. I managed to beat Majora's Mask 64 with about 70% completion by avoiding all fairies, heart containers, and having one mask missing: Fierce Diety. For some reason, I just couldn't finish that Goron obstacle course. What a load of crap. The lesson of today is legit. If you see a remake hitting the stores, play and respect the original first. -RealityPublishing
  10. I have around 7 OCs that I made modeled after Nintendo consoles, and they all look different. But I'm wondering if they're fitting OCs, and if they have good names and cutie marks. http://i.imgur.com/fFnmNEZ.pngis Famicom Tom (NES Pony [NES in Japan is Famicom]) http://i.imgur.com/VDqAUMl.pngis Mega Genesis (Mega Drive Pony [sega Genesis in Europe and Japan is Mega Drive]) http://i.imgur.com/fPBiwZB.pngis Super Dash (SNES Pony [Fun Fact: SNES in Japan is Super Famicom]) http://i.imgur.com/HdUlDh3.pngis Ultra Dash (N64 Pony [codename of N64 is Ultra 64/Project Reality]) http://i.imgur.com/ziJtJrv.pngis Super Atlantis (GBA Pony [codename of GBA is Project Atlantis]) http://i.imgur.com/XlLNDye.pngis Super Dolphin (Edit: Dolphin Dash now) (Main OC/Profile Pic) (GCN/NGC Pony [codename of GCN is Project Dolphin]) http://i.imgur.com/GP1whY8.pngis Ultima Nitro (NDS Pony [NDS's codename is Project Nitro]) Oh, and also, they're made with Pony Creator V3, which I think is way better than Full Version. I was thinking of renaming Ultra Dash to Reality Dash, or Super Dash to Super FamiDash. Or maybe Super Dolphin to Dolphin Dash? I want you guys' opinion, regardless. Edit: Super Dolphin's name is now Dolphin Dash as I would prefer as well as the others.
  11. As you might have noticed, there's a certain niche crowd out there for retro gaming. A lot of recent games have been made in a 32-bit style with chip tunes to call back to the older days of gaming, to the SNES and Genesis. These games have shown themselves to be... very well done, in a lot of cases. After all, they are utilizing tech that is well known and probably helped along by newer processors that can more than handle the payload. But I pose a question to you? Would you be interested in a game inspired by those made around the late 90s? To clarify, I'm talking about the games that came out for the original PlayStation and the Nintendo 64. Games with an excessively low polygon count, synthy music, and when 3D games were becoming a reality. Could this be an unexplored avenue developers could explore? Or is it too much of a downgrade with not enough reward or nostalgia to entice you to play it again?
  12. Want just a quick summary? Go to the Final Verdict for that and my rating! Mario Party Platform: Nintendo 64 Genre: Party Game Publisher/Developer: Nintendo/Hudsonsoft Mario Party was a strange yet interesting release when it launched. A board game stringed together by a bunch of mini-games starring Mario characters? That actually sounds awesome! Well, it is actually kinda cool. Now it has become a franchise with over 10 games in the series. Let's see how the first outing fares! In Mario Party, you go through differently themed 'boards', compete against others in mini-games, and collect coins and stars to become the next Superstar! Apparently becoming the Superstar is the main point of the story. Each board has its own theme and are also based on the different characters The main place to do this is in the standard Adventure mode, where you pick your stage, turns, characters and so on. This is the standard go to mode for the goal of Superstardom. You can pick from 6 characters in the Mario universe, Mario, Luigi, Peach, Yoshi, DK, and Wario, which some oddly enough have their Japan only voices used here. Compared to the newer games, it is a small roster but it was awesome for the time. This mode overall is pretty fun to me, though a couple more stages would have been nice. looking back there wasn't that many overall. You also run into different obstacles on the board depending on its theme, Bowser and a Boo are always on these boards. Bowser exists to make your life miserable and Boo is there to be your personal thief, stealing coins and maybe even stars for you. The overall variety of the boards themselves is good. Beyond the standard Adventure, you have a Quest mode, where you go through set locations, completing Mini-games along a path with a limited number of lives, which coins from the games give. Surprisingly, this mode is pretty well done as it takes you to many locations and has a good variety of the games, which gradually get pretty hard. I'd say this mode is just as good as the Adventure mode and actually better if you are a solo player. Beyond this, there is a shop to buy things with your earned coins, a Mini-game hut to buy mini-games and play any of them as you like, an options area, and..thats kinda it. The game does seem like it has a lack of content but overall the replaybility can make up for that, mainly due to multiplayer. Bowser exists to do one thing: Make you all miserable The mini-games themselves are the meat of Mario Party and they range from fun to meh to ugh. There are games for tracing objects, shaping a Bowser face to match the center, Shy-Guy says and many more. Even if some of the games are hit or miss, there definitely is a good variety here that cannot be overlooked. There are 4-player games, 2vs2 games, 1 Player only, and 3vs1 games that further add to the variety, though there are not near as many games for the last three, the 4 player games received the most attention for obvious reasons. Speaking of 4 players, this game can be played with up to 3 other players and multiplayer is where the game really begins to shine. It is clear that this was intended. Playing alone is nowhere near as fun as playing with others though this game has a history of creating bitterness between players at times, it can definitely do that. The game just needed a couple more modes centered around the Party aspect and more games for the other categories, such as 2vs2 and so on. Face Lift was always one of my favorite mini-games The graphics and sound get the job done. The graphics themselves don't have the same shine as say Super Mario 64 but they aren't bad at all. The sound fares a bit better though with very catchy melodies in the games and for the worlds, though no real classic Mario tunes are present for some reason, except for when getting a 1-UP. 13. READY! This has to be my favorite fighting series by far and I am overjoyed at its return! I played this all the time on the SNES and the sequel on 64. The new game on the Xbox One, while the free to play approach is questionable, it looks fantastic and Double Helix did a great job! It will be the first game I get for the One, Ultra edition as it comes with the arcade edition of the original, which I have not played that version. Anypony else love the series? Do you have the newest one? Which one is your favorite? Favorite character in the whole series? These are just random questions I am throwing out there. I a immensely hyped for the new one.
