  1. HELLO, FRIENDS, AND A HEARTY GREETING TO MLP FORUMS! For those of you who do NOT know me, I am Iron Will, the greatest seminar host, fitness trainer, motivational speaker, body builder, airship pilot, vacation cruise coordinator and substitute teacher that Equestria HAS EVER KNOWN! Today I am here to tell you - no - SHOW YOU the single greatest video game EVER DEVISED! I am also here to provide a sanctuary for those already familiar with said game, giving them a place to discuss it and connect with other players! What such game is this, you may ask? Why, it is a game so metal, so thrilling, so unbelievably ADDICTING that even the likes of Iron Will could not put down his controller. This game is Monster Hunter: World, and it is the latest incarnation of the Monster Hunter series. Commit it to memory, little ponies, for it holds the power to CHANGE YOUR LIVES! A bold hunter comes face to face with a sinister Rathalos in its nest. A grave mistake! Monster Hunter is a series of RPG games developed by CAPCOM, who many may recognize from games such as Mega Man, Street Fighter, Resident Evil, Devil May Cry and more. Monster Hunter found massive success in Japan, and has been around since the days of the PlayStation 2. However, it wasn't until the series' latest installment - Monster Hunter: World - that Capcom found global success with the game, winning them numerous awards and spotlights! The premise of Monster Hunter is quite simple. Taking on the mantel of a fearless hunter, you hunt ferocious, deadly beasts, and craft armor, weapons and items from their parts. These parts aide you in discovering and hunting even rarer, more powerful monsters! You can take on these challenges solo OR join a party of up to four hunters, and hunt beasts with your friends! An overconfident hunter flees for his life from the mighty jaws of an Anjanath! Someone should have brought along their friends! With fourteen weapon classes to choose from, Monster Hunter is a journey of creativity as well as courage! But that's not all, friends! Monster Hunter is no one trick pony. Should you decide to hunt solo, you'll have a companion of your own helping you every step of the way. What better companion to have than a loyal feline! Palicoes are bipedal cats with high levels of intelligence, who have been living, and hunting with hunters since the dawn of time! Your palico will heal you, distract your target, provide buffs and more! You can even customize their outfits and weapons, just as you can your own. "The palicoes are simply adorable. I need six!" ~ Princess Luna "She hasn't put the game down in six weeks." ~ Princess Celestia With breathtaking worlds to explore, small wildlife to collect and items to discover, the world of Monster Hunter has many secrets to unearth! Monster Hunter: World is receiving AN EXPANSION! In celebration of the game's massive success, Capcom is releasing Monster Hunter World: Iceborne, this upcoming September! Iceborne has enough new game content to be considered a sequel in its own right, with twice the roster of monsters found in the base game, new maps, skills, a brand new story, hunter bases and more! This news is SO BIG, Iceborne slammed onto the cover of Game Informer for the month of August! With Iceborne just around the corner, NOW is the time, friends! NOW is the time for you to embrace the world of hunting, and ascend to the VERY TOP OF THE FOOD CHAIN! Monster Hunter: World is found on PC, PS4 AND Xbox One, so get your copy today, folks! Iron Will is not endorsed by Capcom in any way, and is simply doing a public service by bringing a satisfying game experience to the ponies of Equestria. Iron Will is also mainly looking for others to hunt with. And there you have it, ponies of MLP Forums! I, Iron Will have given you the tools YOU need to become a lean, mean, monster slaying machine! Please use this thread as your means of discussing all things MONSTER HUNTER! Give your thoughts and impressions! Ask Iron Will questions regarding Monster Hunter! Seek out friends to connect and play with! Iron Will is SO confident that you'll love Monster Hunter, that if you do NOT love Monster Hunter, YOU. ARE. LYING. Now if you excuse Iron Will, he has some light grocery shopping to do.
  2. This is a fan-made project, that is not associated with Hasbro, Inc. in any way. This is a non-profit project and the developer will never make any money in any way from it. My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is the property of Hasbro, Inc.. This is a fanmade Local Multiplayer Ponified Kid-Friendly Turn Based RPG based on My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic TV series. A unicorn pony, Twilight Sparkle receives a very important mission from Princess Celestia, the ruler of the magical land of Equestria. She and her assistant, a baby dragon named Spike are sent to Ponyville, where her task will be to meet other ponies and study about the Magic of Friendship. With their new friends, they'll go on adventures and solve various problems. Note: Everything may change along with development progress. ♥ PONIES! Discover the Magic of Friendship! ♥ Story and events heavily based on the TV series What happened in the show, will happen in the game along with RPG elements and additional plot. Didn't watch the show? Don't worry, you'll absolutely not get lost because of that! However, as the show can spoil the game, the game can spoil the show. ♥ Local Multiplayer (up to 2 players) Discovering the Magic of Friendship with a real friend or siblings will be better, than doing that alone! Explore Equestria, solve puzzles and fight together! ♥ Energetic Battle System As everything will be based on hit-boxes, each skill will have different usage. Every single projectile appearing on the screen will be a physical object, rather than just a part of animation. Some skills may also have interaction involved, like timed action, chain of buttons or simple button mashing when casting powerful abilities such as Twilight's Magic Nova. ♥ Each pony has a set of unique skills As each pony is different as the night is from the day, their abilities and specialties are different as well! ♥ Skill Tree Each pony will have a different path. Gain experience to improve or learn new abilities. ♥ Skill Assign System Each pony can assign 8 abilities, either active or passive. A good combination of active and passive skills may give decent (even unexpected) results. ♥ Resource gathering and crafting Collect materials to craft equipment; Combine equip-able gems to get better-quality ones; Collect herbs and plants to allow Zecora brew potions. ♥ Minigames and Puzzles Various minigames and solving puzzles to keep the boredom away! ♥ More PONIES! ... Equipping Passives will simply raise pony's parameters or add special features like additional projectiles when attacking etc. at cost of a skill slot. A well thought combination of these skills can give decent results. Everypony will have Passives. Now let's talk about unique skill sets for each pony. Magic | Primary | MP/EP Twilight will have various spells, starting from simple telekinesis that will deal light damage by throwing various objects -> through magic projectiles that will deal magical damage -> to powerful Area of Effect Spells, that at high MP and EP cost, will bring some destruction to the battle field. As she sings songs during their adventure, she will learn to sing them in battle as well to raise parameters of ponies and more! YEEHAWs | Secondary | MP/EP Applejack is an active pony and she will be showing her energy by motivating her friends and raising their strengths. Magic | Primary | MP/EP Rarity loves shiny gems. Besides using them for her creations, she also uses them as a weapon by dealing physical or elemental damage. Get ready for rains of shiny projectiles. FABULOUS! However, her beloved animals will cover her! She will be able to call various animals to deal physical or magical damage. Calling a bear will cause some troubles to enemies! Support | Secondary | MP Nopony is as kind and caring as Fluttershy. She will do her best to help her friends in need by recovering their strength and protecting them. 3. Starting development on things I can actually show off with visuals! Tilemaps recovered from oblivion, and steps towards an explorable overworld, this time made with a lot more common sense and cleanliness. Catch details on all that and more in this month's DevLog for the prototype of Battle Gem Ponies! (Get on the Patreon Hype Train for Exclusive Posts about the making, and remaking, of the game!)
  4. Hello, folks! After careful consideration, I've decided to start this special blog specifically for the purpose of following Maradice Isle's ongoing development! The game's come quite a ways since it all began, but it's still got a LOOOOOONG way to go! Here's to hoping we can have it done before 2021 arrives! But with an RPG of this scale... that's pretty unlikely. Anywho, before I go off on a tangent, I would like to detail some of the things that have been accomplished with the game recently. There's a lot to cover here, so settle in. ** 1. UPDATED MENUS ** A lot of changes have been made to how the menus handle. The one change you'll notice right off the bat is that the option to quit the game was replaced with a new "OPTIONS" menu. This is something that doesn't come naturally with RPG Maker VX Ace, so scripts had to be used to get this to work. The options menu handles pretty much how you'd expect: You can adjust the window color, change the music, background sounds, or sound effect volume levels, and even turn on "Auto-Dash", eliminating the need to hold down the run button to move quicker. Also, an option to have text boxes load instantly, or one letter at a time, as well as an option to skip battle animations during battle is in there, too, for those who want to speed up the game during those grind-heavy moments. Another change that was made was changing how character equipment handles. Not only has the equipment menu been changed completely, there are now TWO extra equipment slots. One for another accessory, and one dedicated to Power Orbs, special collectables that grant you new abilities when you find them across Equestria. These alone will encourage you to explore every nook and cranny to try and get all 56 ( 8 for each of the 7 classes ). Speaking of Power Orbs... ** 2. POWER ORBS & SUMMONS ** The Seven Seers had access to vast amounts of power thanks to the 56 Power Orbs they all carried during their adventures 5,000 years ago. However, when the big battle with Strange Tidings occurred, the Orbs got misplaced and eventually wound up in what would become Equestria, going into hibernation. With the arrival of the four player characters, and thanks in part to the Seers Awakening Call, the Orbs, and the Essences that live within them, are beginning to awaken again, and now it's up to the player, should they choose to do so, to explore all across the kingdom and find the 56 Power Orbs. And believe me, you WANT to go out of your way to find these babies! Each time you get one, you can equip it to one of your characters to give them some minor stat bonuses. But in addition to that, every time you find a Power Orb, you'll unlock a new "Summon" to add to your characters list of attacks. In addition to this, collecting a specific amount of Power Orbs ( for example, 1 Frost and 1 Ember ) will unlock some Special Summons of increased power. All of this is activated by using the "SP" meter, making it useful for more then just activating Ultimate's when it's full. Some Power Orb abilities inflict status conditions on the enemy, some can restore MP to the party when used. And there's even a couple that allow you to almost completely resist the damage dealt to the party on that turn! So for those of you playing along at home, FIND THOSE POWER ORBS!! You'll be kicking yourself later if you don't. Here's a little party favor for you: The moment you enter the main overworld of Equestria ( after leaving the San Palomino Desert ), you'll be stopped by the first Frost Power Orb, Frostbite, who's Essence will proceed to show you the ropes on how to use Power Orbs properly. So in case your worried that you'll be struggling to figure out how they work, worry not, because that's not the case here. And if you already do know how to handle them, there is an option to skip this tutorial. Those of you who need a refresher course on Power Orbs later down the road can always refer to the Playing Manual in the Key Items tab. Aren't you glad you got that thing at the start of the game? Oh, and for those of you with short-term memory issues, which I assume would be a fair amount of you, you can check out what Orb's you've found in the "Power Orbs" tab of the items menu. ** 3. THE FIRST SHRINE ** Somewhere in the San Palomino Desert, you will come across the first of the seven shrine's that will be in the game. These shrines offer up unique equipment when you complete them, but be forewarned: They are not for the faint of heart. Everytime you find a shrine, you'll likely be met with the following: Unique monsters not seen elsewhere in the game. Multiple trials to complete in order to reach the end. A Guardian that will challenge you to a VERY intense fight for possession of the shrine's treasure. Upon entering a Shrine and approaching the huge door that bars access to the central chamber, you'll notice a sign on the wall that reads as following: "If you do not wish to die here, your objective is quite clear. In order to secure this treasure's might, make each orb shine with a brilliant light. Take note, brave one, for though you are strong, you'll soon regret it if your answers are WRONG." Branching off the main hub of each shrine, you'll find four rooms, each containing a trial. Some will challenge your knowledge of the Seven Seers and their stories, while others will simply be gauntlets of enemies you must defeat to progress. One of my favorite ones is where your guiding a power sphere past red orbs to the other end of the room. It's certainly quite entertaining. And those who REALLY like this mechanic can look forward to getting to Ponyville, since there will be an arcade machine somewhere where you can play this little mini-game again. However, as the warning above might imply, some of these trials don't take kindly to incorrect answers. If you get the answer to some of these challenges wrong, you'll have to fight a battle in order to try again. And at lower levels, the enemies you'll face might just mop the floor with your tails. As you complete a shrine's trials, four orbs on either side of the large door in the main hub will light up. When all four have been lit, the door will open, and you'll be granted access to the final chamber, where the shrine Guardian awaits... In this first shrine, the Guardian just so happens to be a Tatzlwurm, armed with Equality spells that will keep you on your hooftips for the entire battle. These spells include, but are NOT limited too: Power Blade: Boosts the bosses attack power, allowing him to hit you even harder. Sandstorm: Deals damage to the entire party, on top of having a chance to blind them, wrecking havoc on their accuracy with physical attacks. This ability can throw the battle into even further chaos. Tower Shield: Technically a Frost spell, but the boss can use this to boost his defense. Mystery Ponies armed with "Force Opening" can easily carve through his defenses. Yeah, this guy's not exactly a picnic. On top of this, he actually gets STRONGER the more shrine's you've cleared. So for example, if this is the first shrine you've ever tackled, then his HP is only 2,900, and his attack power is pretty moderate. He can still be trouble, but he's manageable if you play it right. HOWEVER, if you waited until the very end to tackle this shrine, and you've finished all the other ones, this guys HP gets cranked up to a ridiculous 27,000, and his attack power is almost x7 what it was before, and all of a sudden, you've got a VERY intense fight on your hands! Add on the fact that he'll be granted more power Equality spells once I've programmed them in, and you will definitely need to bring your A-game in order to come out alive! All these stat values are subject to change in the future, but it goes without saying: Shrine Guardians get more powerful the more shrine's you've cleared. So before you go marching into that shrine you just found, try tor remember just how many shrine's you've already done, and consider the possibility that you may need to level up a little more before you can tackle that next one. So, what kind of loot are we talking about here? Well, aside from the few treasure chests you'll find scattered around the shrine as you explore it, there's also the items the boss might drop, which include stat-boosting items. But it's the treasure they were guarding that we're all here for. These unique items grant extra-powerful benefits to the player when equipped. One of these items enables dual-wielding of 2H weapons, allowing your Ember Ponies to do some serious damage with their physical attacks! One doubles magic damage power, but cuts physical attack power in half, which would work great on a Thunder Pony! But perhaps the best one out of them all: THE GOLDEN CHALICE, which eliminates random encounters altogether when equipped! It's unknown which shrine this beauty will be put in, but it's a safe bet that most players will skip over all the other shrines and go for this one first, because who doesn't want to be able to explore the world without random encounters getting in the way? GRANTED, it won't save you from Monster-In-A-Box's, or from boss fights, and whoever is holding it can't use the "FIGHT" command, but it's still the best one out of the bunch. ( Here's a little tip: Those of you who have beaten the demo version of the game can get the Golden Chalice right away by inputting the special code that was given at the end of the demo. ) ** 4. IN CONCLUSION ** Obviously, A LOT has been going on with the game lately. But now that the story has moved into Equestria, it's becoming more and more important that volunteers are brought in to help assist with creating the tilesets needed to bring these locations to life. If you've experience with sprite design and think your up to the task, please join the official development Discord server for the project. Invite code is right here: "VabKgSC". Please note that you must be placed under one of the actual "Roles" within the server in order to see and post messages, so if you see nothing when you join in for the first time, do not be surprised. This was done to keep the "UNDESIRABLES" out of the chat. Hope this blog post has helped to shed some light on what's been going on with the games development. Hope to see you again soon!

  7. My entire past week revolved around a game that wasn't mine for once. I took the time to play the newly released followup to my favorite indie game of all-time (Undertale, in case you didn't know) and it was time well spent. I came out the other side of those credits re-energized, inspired to work harder, and pumped up on well-designed RPGs and quirky/interesting fantasy worlds. Overall, a nice reminder of why I love gaming so much.See what notable new design elements are coming (without getting too specific) along with some Earth-Shaking indie dev news on the Yotes Blog.
  8. Celestia... ah Celestia. The princess that is the SOLE reason everything in the show happened. Whether it was directly, like giving her wings, or Indirectly, making Discord to try to capture Tirek which accidentally made Twilight lose the Golden Oak. She is someone who rarely ever directly intervenes on huge issues so giving her any class that does does so, like a knight is really unfitting. I was thinking healer but then Cadence came to mind and how she is the one who heals relationships and such. Back to Celestia, it is pretty hard to get a direct class on her. Because of that, I skipped to finding her Sonic class. This was SO MUCH EASIER. 1) She rarely flies. Fliers are known to do it super constantly and in Sonic Fliers are shown to fly when ever, not only to get around quickly but even when idling around at times. IE Tails and Cream. Since we rarely see that with Celestia, we can easily rule this out. Now what about Speed? When have you seen Celestia do stuff super fast? Yes when it comes to certain things Celestia may react fast, like the parasprite swarm thing but we never see her use her speed to the best potential. So Celestia is a Power Types. Now that we have that out of the way, How did I get ranger? Most of the shows biggest problems had Celestia in the back seat. She helped in some way but never directly. Examples: She sent Twilight to get friends, she didn't confront Nightmare Moon. She gave Twilight all her magic to deal with Tirek. So that's all I got. Do you agree? Disagree? Let me know below. The image was made by me but the Power Symbol and Celestia are vectors from Wiki (Or rather Google)
  9. My gaming club was moved to a temporary location last week since our main one was in use. I wanted to do a dating sim play-through but the projector wouldn't show my laptop screen. Since I will be stuck there again this week, I thought I'd try to do a D&D one-shot campaign. I need some ideas as to what kind of campaign I should run. Feel free to make your suggestions as pony as you like.

Click the download image to be taken to the gamejolt site where this project is currently being hosted! Note: Despite the fact that the version currently reads as 1.0.8 does not by any means imply the game is anywhere near close to being done. at the moment, I'd estimate it being about 15% done at the moment. If this thread gets enough people following it, i'll be sure to update it more frequently TRAILERS: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A12EBpTD_9s
  12. So, we know Fallout 76 is coming this November. Public reaction has been... mixed. But while there is already a thread for users to discuss their thoughts on the game, I figured I would make one for players like me who are excited and eager to play. I already pre-ordered the game, highly anticipating the Break-it Early Test Application. But I don't have any friends to play it with once the game is released! Here you can exchange information with other players regarding the game. Group up, make alliances, organize shops, or even form factions! I will be playing on Xbox One. My Gamertag is GeekySonic. Currently I'm partnered with one other player I met on the Fallout Amino, and we have no immediate affiliations with any group. I plan to focus my character on combat. Purely for defensive reasons, of course.
  13. Hello everyone, i am Velgarn, creator of a free pen and paper RPG called Seeds of Harmony, which is based on the MLP show with a strong fantasy influence, for those who wants to play to a more adventurous level. (Don't worry if i post here, i've asked the permission to Staff Members on the Discord) While Seeds of Harmony has a more serious approach about adventuring, combat ad spells, it also allows a good character customization, thats to the 9 playable races on the core ruleset, who are often not covered in other similar games or simply ignored for the more common ones, such as the Earth/Pony/Pegasus/Unicorn, the game allows you to also play as a Mule, Donkey, Minotaur, Griffin and even a Night Pegasus (or Bat Pony) , while the Pony Edition also adds the new races from the movie such as Hippogriff (pre Storm King), Catfolk, Lizardfolk and also the rules for Crystal Ponies (Pre King Sombra). The game has both simple and advanced rules, so people can decide which to use and how many. Base Rules are about how Skills works, how performing Checks based on characteristics and other values and also how combat works, and that's all. Still there are also more complex rules for those who wants them, because i also seen many times people starting a more simple game system only for starting to brew new rules for situations or actions not coveredat all. It took me 4 years to finish the game and i used all my experience on various game systems such as Dungeons and Dragons, Call of Cthulhu, Basic, Vampires: The Masquerade, Sine Requie, Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay and Dark Heresy. Dice System: The Game uses both d20 and d100 for the important rolls. WHile the d20 is only used to Hit/Dodge/Parry or to perform a Counter Check, the d100 is used for most of the other rolls, such as Skill Checks, Morale, chance of obtaining a Critical Hit, Cover and Concealment. The oder dice mentioned (d3, d6 and d10) are only used for Damage or duration of certain effects, spells etcetera. Core Ruleset or Pony Edition: In the original idea the game was only based on anthropomorphic characters, for the simple reason that a humanoid shape and posture is better suited for the type of adventures we are used to see and play, plus they have hands wichi is a huge advantage compared to hooves. Still, after two years i then decided to also make the Pony Edition, since not everyone like the idea of anthropomorphic creatures and just want to play as colorful talking equines, so i made the additional .pdf document for them. The fun fact is that the Core Mechanics are the same, and the Pony Edition simply adapt some situations for equine races, such as being no longer able to hold weapons with the hands (since there are none) etcetera. Even so, those races who are already anthropomorphic can still use the Core Rules (Catfolk, Lizardfolk and Minotaurs). Another difference is that the Core Ruleset uses a custom setting or "Alternate Universe", while Pony Edition is more oriented on only what seen in the show Character Creation and Progression: In SoH there are no Classes such as many rpgs out there, but Careers. A Career name isn't important per se, but the type of career is, since it indicates what the Career does. So for example you can be a Warrior, a Duelist or an adventurer and all those careers are based on Combat, so the Career type will be that. The Career type also allows you to "buy" feats who allows you to do stuff, from being more competent in a certain weapon, being more sneaky or even cast spells. Is still possible to acquire feats from different careers, but the cost will be higher and not all feats or their relative upgrade would be available, so each career will have access to a better version of a certain feat while others only the basis. Feats are obtained by spending Character Points, who are basically the game experience who is assigned by the GM at the end of a game session (usually from 5 to 15). Skills are another important aspect of the game and are increased simply by succesfully using them and obtaining a Success. Every 5 successes, you increase the relative skill rank by 1. So even skills your character has few or no ranks at all could be increased, as long as the GM allows you to do so, but many are also limited upon your character's education (Education level is considered a feat aquired during character creation). Downloadable Material and helping the Game: All the Rulebooks, Character sheets, pre-made Adventurers, Sketches, and even some Tokens to use can be found here http://velgarn.tumblr.com/SoH_Material. I decided to use tumbrl just for having a page where to post the link and being able to also add the updates, post drawings etcetera. Note 1: that since English isn't my first language, there would be probably some grammar errors and typos, plus the documents have a very simple layout. I am the only one who is working on this long project and i would grlady get some help from those who are interested, even simple feedback about games played using those rules. Note 2: Not everything has been translated at 100%, but the core ruleset can be used without problems, since i reduced the amount of spells and feats, items and such, but i'm slowly translating everything, but remember that i am alone, so have patience unless i get some extra help. Price? That's not how you spell Generosity. The Game is free.

  15. Getting REAL tired of this game not being close to finished. I admit to dying inside just a bit each passing week as I fall behind on the schedule I laid out just because the very first bullet point is the hardest pill to force down. Maybe I'm crazy and doing this wrong. Time to take a different route to the end. As for what exactly what that route is? You'll need to read the ending thoughts to this week's devlog to find out.
  16. Feels like every day now I'm discovering some new and better way of doing things. The project is crawling towards a point where all systems exist and are easy to tweak. So good news is I can both feel and see myself becoming a better game developer. Bad news: I'm already a week behind schedule. Again. That won't fly. Time to crunch up and catch up. For this week in gamedev featuring my thoughts on a rather impressive Pokemon fan game coming out soon, check out the Main Yotes Blog
  17. Battle Gem Ponies! The fully-animated action-packed RPG adventure! An evolved version of the Ponymon ROM-Hack, and now its own indie project.Rotation battles, specialized move slots, new types, gym leaders specializing in strategies instead of types, EVs & IVs that can be altered with a slider instead of breeding, a balanced roster without intentional tiers, and a version of Eevee that can switch between any of the types at will. All ideas that went into this project's conception.Sound good? Then come along for the ride! Developed by Tony Yotes in Unity3D with 2d Toolkit INTRODUCTION: Welcome to the official Battle Gem Ponies Pre-Alpha thread! BGP has been an idea swimming in my head for years before finally starting development in December of 2014. It was inspired by a Fire Red version ROM Hack called Ponymon where the Pokemon were replaced with My Little Pony characters. The hack went unfinished for years and the story didn’t seem to do much more than name swap and make friendship references. I wondered how cool it would be to see that MLPxPokemon idea taken all the way and fleshed out into a completely new adventure. Fan games like Pokemon Uranium and Fighting is Magic inspired me to take up programming in high school so I could make fan games of my own. Specifically, I always wanted to make my own Pokemon game that did away with all the parts that annoyed me in the main series. Things like grinding, HMs, boring/easy fights, and evolution lines with stats too low for competitive viability would be no more! The first attempt at making such a game didn’t go too well, being just a kid with one java class and a C++ tutorial under his belt. So I spent the next 7 years practicing game development (even getting a degree in Gaming & Simulation) to build the skill necessary to craft a full-blown RPG like this. Over the years the game has gone from overambitious Pokemon fan game to legally safe overambitious Pokemon clone with its own characters, world, logos, assets, and so on. Measures have been taken to make sure this is a Cease & Desist-proof original property inspired by Pokemon that's made from scratch. Lots of blood, sweat, and tears are going into making this game a success. I hope Battle Gem Ponies is turns out as good as the game I saw in my head all those years ago. I can’t be the only one who would like to play a game like this, right? Thanks for checking out the project and enjoy the demo! -- Tony Yotes -- CONCEPT: Command super-powered, shape-shifting ponies in strategic turn-based RPG combat. The battle system is a variation of Pokemon's Rotation Battle in that matches are 3 vs 3 and either player can swap out their current fighter at the beginning of the turn (but at the cost of attacking last). Your pony will shapeshift between these 3 forms until each one's individual HP reaches zero. To catch wild ponies you have to weaken them and use capture gems that "download" the opposing pony's data and allows your pony to transform into it. In order to complete the capture process though, the wild pony needs to be defeated. There are 18 elemental classes each with their own strengths and weaknesses. In place of the "Normal type" there is a neutral class with no special advantage or disadvantage, thus being able to cause a regular amount of damage on anypony. The classes are Fire, Aqua, Surge, Plant, Ice, Ki, Toxic, Earth, Air, Esper, Bug, Ghost, Draco, Steel, Light, Dark, Chaos, and Magic. A major aspect of battle is the Ultra transformations. Like with mega evolution, finding special objects in the overworld will allow you to transform any one of your party members into a powered up version of themselves (sometimes with alternate elemental types too). FEATURES: Fully Animated Battle RPG! Every single pony and attack is uniquely animated to bring these pixel art battles to life! Explore a Vast World! An enormous, vibrant region awaits! Travel through deserts, mountains, forests, graveyards, and underwater temples on your quest through the Pinto region. Power Up Your Pony! Form a powerful bond with your shapeshifting pony companion and watch it grow stronger, learn awesome new moves, and take on the toughest of enemies. Travel with Your Pony! Surf across oceans and lakes with any swift-swimming ponies. Teleport to the nearest Health Center whenever you like with a simple phone call. Even have whatever pony is with you smash any boulders in your path, just because they all can! Customize Your Team! Choose who you take into battle from a selection of 60 Ponies and their Ultra Forms. You can alter their moves, stats, and equipment to become an unbeatable trainer! Hundreds of Different Moves! Using attacks grouped into Light, Heavy, Status, and Tutor slots that make you think more carefully about which moves to take into battle. Discover the Secrets of the Legendary Alicorns! Powerful, winged unicorns that embody the Sun and Moon are said to be the strongest ponies to ever live. People have wanted to harness their power for personal gain since ancient times. With recent advancements in technology, however, it might be easier than ever for their power to fall into the wrong hands... Collect Badges and Save The World! You’ll have your skills tested by expert Mavens and fight for your life against the evil Paragon Cartel. Simple story objectives that fans of Monster RPGs will be familiar with, but perhaps with a few surprises along the way... THE PINTO REGION: Just one corner of a brand new world… H - Rest House G - City Gate C - Celestial Shrine P - Paragon Cartel Secret Base (start in Honey Dew and venture around) A colorful and varied region with a gemstone motif and mysteries scattered across the map. It's meant to be an adventure lasting at least 6 hours on average. Preferably longer, and extended indefinitely with post-game content. The environments should be visually varied and filled with enough story content to keep the player interested in progressing. Every single section has at least a handful of notable experiences within. The scope has been thought out and written in a 200+ page long game design document along with every other aspect of the game. 18. Finally coming to grips with the new tools and having something to show for it! There's been a real headache and a half over this, but hopefully it pays off with a bunch of dropped jaws and people saying "Oh, that's cool." when they first open the game.. I need to settle into a groove! Time to crank out some content! (Check the link for the full, HUGE blog post)
  19. Release feels so close. It's like the pieces are all in my lap and I just have to follow the instructions to put them together. The final version of Battle Gem Ponies is so clear in my head now that I'm fanboying over it sometimes. In the last 7 days I charted out exactly how all 360 battle moves will look, I recreated every menu, rebalanced the battle system, came up with catchier names for things, sorted out details for a DLC & multiplatform launch plan, and closely studied just about everything that makes the games that inspired this one so great. To keep track of things I made a week-by-week breakdown of the rest of BGP's development. Counting down what's left to do to get the game to a launchable state. If you wanna find out what the Yotes Games Wednesday Milestones are, look at the list on this week's new devblog!

She needs to learn the 10 basic combat spells every mage must master to survive fights against the monsters of Equica. Traverse deadly dungeons to unlock more spells and extend your life energy! Beat all the dungeon bosses to prove you're tough enough to take on any dangerous quest! - Unlock 10 Different Combat Spells! - 9 Dungeons Crawling With Monsters & Treasure! - Plunder Caves For Gems & Items! - Find Cupcakes, Potions, and Power-Boosting Equipment! - A Vast & Mysterious Forest Awaits… ______________________________________________________ Clover the Cloaked is a young unicorn training under her tutor, the legendary Swirllock the Bearded. He left her a series of intricately designed dungeons to test her combat skills and courage. Clover believes if she can pass this test with flying colors, Swirllock could include her on his next great adventure! The land of Equica is one full of magical creatures around every corner. Gemstones are hoarded as currency and cupcakes are a universal commodity, serving as both food and medicine. Most of Clover's entire life has been secluded to this one tiny unicorn forest in the corner of this vast world. She yearns to see what fantastic sights and adventures Equica has to offer... This here was my first true passion project. Up until this point I was making small games with the Unity engine to learn the basics of game development. Eventually I got sick of making practice games and decided to dive right in! Unicorn Training is a combination of every random idea I've had for an action RPG. You've got bullet-hell combat, a choice of multiple spells that level up Ratchet & Clank style, tons of dungeons to explore and an open world, cute little talking MLP style unicorns, and it's all wrapped up in a Zelda/Paper Mario aesthetic. Really hope people connect with this game because I'd like to try to execute the idea even better in the future as I continue to grow skill as a dev. Screenshots: Watch the Trailer Here!
  21. I figured I could group a whole bunch of my feedback requests into one thread. Getting feedback on other forums has been super helpful so far with tweaking my character designs, so I'd love to get more opinions here! #1 is the main character, Ponatina The starter for my game is this Eevee-like pony that has all these different forms and I've been getting feedback from friends and the community to let me know which ones are best and which need improvement. So far I've redone 4 of them to get the collection you see here: Which one's best pony and which one's worst? ~ List of Ponatina's Forms ~- Fire: Burnatina- Aqua: Aquatina- Surge: Electina- Plant: Floratina- Ice: Frostina- Ki: Bucktina- Toxic: Venotina- Earth: Granitina- Air: Aerotina- Esper: Teletina- Bug: Sectina- Ghost: Phantina- Draco: Dractina- Steel: Metatina- Light: Solatina- Dark: Shadotina- Chaos: Havoctina- Magic: Mystina Another design I kept going back and fourth on is Skullna. Trying to make a little woona-style zombie-pony thing and not sure if I should go with dead black eyes or cutesy white ones. I chose black for now to emphasize the undeadness and decay. And to dump off the rest all at once, here's most of my game's roster standing next to their Ultra forms. Definitely wanna tweak a bunch of them, but for now they look good enough for me to move on to another dev task and come back to them later. What do you guys think? Gimmie your favorite of the bunch and the worst of the on these guys too! And for good measure, here's all the base forms:

  23. I'm Commander Shepard and welcome to the Official Mass Effect Fan Club! FOR THOSE WHO HAVEN'T PLAYED YET: What is Mass Effect? Mass Effect is a space themed RPG that takes place in the future. Humanity has progressed enough so that we've found other alien races. You play as Commander Shepard of the Alliance military. As you go throughout the story you'll encounter many dangers. The series has an excellent storyline and is super detailed in every way. Even the characters are super well developed. Now for the rest of you, discuss anything related to the series.
  24. Hello, everypony! Have you ever thought about how cool it would be if someone made an Undertale-styled My Little Pony RPG? Well, I am actually working on that! You will be able to play as a customizable character, who moved to Ponyville from [TBD], and the rest of the story goes from there. I already have a basic idea of all the major events that will happen in the story, but explaining them now would spoil it. There will be three routes in the game, but unlike Undertale's pacifist, normal, and genocide route, in the MLPFIMRPG (That's what I'm calling it for now,) there will be a Princess Celestia, Queen Chrysalis, and Princess Luna route. All of this seems great, but there are some things I need help with, such as dialogue for certain characters, ideas for side objectives, new areas in the game, pixel art and/or animation, and much more. Any help would be appreciated! If you would like to see an old test for the game, you can watch this Youtube video, here: As you may be able to tell based on the video, I need quite a bit of dialogue help.
