  1. After I failed Fake It 'Til You Make It, I decided to put all 28 failed episodes in order from worst F- minus to least worst F+. That list eventually expanded into a complete list of episodes I graded, from the best letter-plus episode to the worst letter-minus, . The statuses can be found here: A episodes, B episodes, C episodes, D episodes, and F episodes. With each list compiled, I'm taking every episode in the show and arranged it in order from the best to the worst. The list is always subject to change; episodes could be upgraded or downgraded at anytime. S9 episodes are in bold underline. Those aired early are under "spoiler" tags. To see every piece of FIM media I graded (and how I graded each episode for each season), click here. That gets updated during each season and possibly in between or during the offseason, if I changed one. And for readability purposes, I sectioned each list with "— — —" in between. Let's begin! 2. One of my biggest peeves in reviewing is giving something a calculated score, because it's very difficult if not impossible to reduce the quality to such a mark. Plus, whenever many people see a score, they tend to not read the review at all and rely on the score/grade itself as proof for purchase. Nonetheless, if I were to grade the following based on the following items below, they would be the followings below the first rule. The grades are respective and separated to the following categories: Season 1 Season 2 Season 3 Season 4 Season 5 Season 6 Season 7 Season 8 Season 9 (ongoing) MLP: The Movie & Specials Equestria Girls series, RR animated shorts, specials, and IDW comic/annual Main Comic Series* Micro-Series Friends Forever If you want to see my order of every FIM episode from best to worst (with grades), click here. Be warned: There are no reasons given for any of the grades, and they're all subject to change. Let's begin! 3. Rainbow Dash was not out of character in "2 4 6 Greaaat". Rainbow isn't into cheer leading mostly because she sees it as to girly but just cheering for a friend is different. She mostly only knows cheering from her parents when they were cheering from the sidelines and what she knows by them is just the basics, so just teaching Fluttershy the basics of cheering is for the sidelines. Even in season 4 "Rainbow Falls" yes Twilght and Pinkie were wearing cheerleader outfits and were cheering for Ponyville but still they were just cheering not cheer leading, even with those outfits. Rainbow also looked uncomfortable when the 2 cheerleaders for Cloudsdale were cheering around her she only smiled a little for those 2 before she returned to the Ponyville team. Rainbow Dash is a tomboy being into sports, but not the cheerleaders and doesn't pay attention and/or as she said in "2 4 6 Greaaat" ponies get snacks during it. She never has been interested into cheer leading and only the basics of cheering in general but nothing about the overall process of cheer leading makes sense.
  4. We know that Celestia and Luna are immortal and possibly Twilight, Cadence and Flurry Heart as well, but maybe non-alicorns could live extremely long such as Granny Smith and possibly the rest of the Gold Horseshoe Gals. Because Granny Smith in "Family Appreciation Day" called herself a "young filly" but when the founding of Ponyville she looked more like a teenage/young mare but the founding of Ponyville was over 200 Years ago according to Twilight in "Winter Wrap Up" said "Ponyville was started by earth ponies, so for hundreds of years they've never used magic to wrap up winter" the key term being "for hundreds of years" so Granny Smith at her youngest during "Winter Wrap Up" is over 200 years old.
  5. During the song in the season 8 premiere "School of Friendship" there is a part where the book is levitating but Twilight's horn is not lit and in the season 8 finale there is a pink stream of magic going into Pinkie. Is pinkie levitating the book? Does one of her parents have a kind of genetic disease that keep the horn from growing out but still exists, Marble and Limestone might be earth ponies but having Maud and Pinkie will explain "some" of their abilities with Maud's super speed and strength from "Maud Pie", and Pinkie's ability to teleport in "Party of One" and "A Friend in Deed", and being able to keep up with Rainbow Dash by using a speed spell in "Party of One". P.S. Please don't say that this was just an animation error in the first picture, i know it is, unless the writers go back to this in season 9.
  6. At the end of "The Ticket Master" how were the Mane 6 using magic to carry the tickets home. Spike wasn't and Twilight and Rarity make sense being unicorns but the others shouldn't be able to use magic.

  9. So in faust's show bible faust not so subtly hinted at something else as dash's Destiny besides joining the wonderbolts, possibly as a secondary thing, possibly as a replacement instead as her destiny. What do you think she meant by "or perhaps fate has something more in store for her" in regards to her Wonderbolt dream?
  10. Just re-watched that episode and this really bothered me - Applejack represents the element of honesty and is so well-known for that trait. Sometimes she's honest to the point where she gets in trouble for it ("Honest Apple"), the whole plot of "Where The Apple Lies" is discouraging Apple Bloom from being insincere. Don't get me wrong, the episode is awesome, but I don't understand why such a character would suddenly take up an attitude that is the exact opposite to what she stands for. Specifically, I am referring to the scene in which she attempts to convince Pinkie that construction is underway in the barn. I know it was for the greater good, and she was doing it to hide the fact that the others of the Mane Six were planning a surprise party for Pinkie Pie, but still. What is everyone's thoughts...?
  11. Does anybody else think Twilight, or at least her family was rich. I was thinking about the house she owned in Canterlot, and all her books, both of which likely costs a decent amount of money.
  12. What i mean is: What is a lesson from the show which you can connect to that you know should be listening to but continue with your short comings? For example. I have said this multiple times but i don't follow with "Stare Master" The lesson with that episode is "Don't bite more than you can chew." But even still i overwork myself and setting deadlines for a lot of things but BECAUSE i'm doing so many things it's hard to follow those deadlines.
  13. When did MLP reach its "peak"? Some in the fandom would say that peak was the end of season 2, in several different ways. From the first episode to the end of season 2, FiM went from a simple cartoon about ponies to a cultural phenomenon. Why did MLP:FiM experience a massive response from a teenage/adult audience? What is it about the first 2 seasons that caused such an explosion in popularity over a relatively short period of time? Here I list 3 scenes which I feel represent everything that made those seasons an instant hit. Scene 1: Train Scene - Season 1 Episode 21, "Over a Barrel" When I think of why I like FiM, I think of this scene. What makes it so interesting and representative of Season 1? It's simple, funny, and hints at an adventure to come. Why are they on the train? Where are they going? To put it simply, it gets you curious for the episode ahead while still being entertaining on its own. A lot of episodes from season 1 and 2 had great openings like this. The setup and subsequent pacing hooks the viewer from the start. The ponies' personalities all compliment each other. You could tell the writers put significant effort into making these characters likable and relateable. The train scene is a situation everyday people could see themselves in. It's representative of one of those nostalgic moments you and your friends recall years later. Scene 2: Derpy & Rainbow Dash (Original Version) - Season 2 Episode 14, "The Last Roundup" This scene to me represents the connection the fandom established with the show and its creators. The recut, edited version essentially ruins the appeal, but the original cut is one of the most memorable moments in the show's history. Anyone who's familiar with the show's history knows about Derpy. She started off as a background character with a slight animation error. Usually this wouldn't even have been noticed. But the fans saw this and imagined an entire character with backstory, a name, personality, and purpose. That was merely the beginning, however. Essentially every background character in the show was given a name (and usually, a personality) by the fans. The creative potential of all of this new material was endless. The fandom took the idea and ran with it. In response to this outpouring of enthusiasm, the gray mare known to the fans as "Derpy" was written into an episode. The scene manages to mirror the many interpretations of her personality perfectly. Her voice is clumsy and curious. Her unintended destruction of city hall is hilarious, and Rainbow's reaction just tops the whole thing off. To this day, people still talk about this scene, and the controversy that surrounded its portrayal of the Derpy character. Scene 3: At the Gala - Season 1 Episode 26, "The Best Night Ever" I considered putting "Winter Wrap Up" here, but I chose "At the Gala" because it represents a plethora of elements that made the first season such an instant success. "The Best Night Ever" was the culmination of an entire seasons worth of buildup towards a specific event. From as early as episode 3, we're told about the Grand Galloping Gala, an event of monumental proportions, an event of mystery, an event that would be unforgettable. Throughout season 1, the Mane 6 prepare for the Gala over the series of several episodes. Season 1 struck a harmonious balance between journey, slice of life, side-stories, and continuity. The majority of the season deals with character development, small stories, and bonding between the cast. However, spread between are mentions of the Gala, the continuous event which the viewer increasingly anticipates. We learn just enough about the Gala, and see the preparation for it by the ponies, enough to get excited about the arc's progression & conclusion, but not so much that we grow tired of the concept before it even happens. Instead of the stereotypical "fairy tale" ending one may expect, we're treated with the complete opposite. Nothing went to plan. All of the splendor the ponies imagined was nothing more than wishful thinking. Everything doesn't always go the way you imagine it will. But that doesn't mean the experience you do get isn't memorable. Beyond that, "At the Gala" is a nice song on its own right. Musical cues in FiM are important to the flow of things. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ There are many more scenes I could have chosen. These are but a few. To summarize, what made seasons 1 and 2 of FiM such a captivating experience which caught the intrigue of a diverse audience was its balance, consistency, and continuity. The balance between slice of life and adventure made the world feel dynamic, not static. The consistency in its background characters makes the world feel populated by actual people and not nameless, soulless bodies. The visual & audio design was top-notch. Catchy, good on the eye, and easy to interpret in your own way via music, art, and so on. And finally, the continuous evolution of the ponie's development, and the progression of its story arcs made it something you wanted to keep watching. Seasons 1 and 2 are not without their faults and bad episodes. But overall, it's easy to see why they appealed to so many people. Thanks for reading. What are your thoughts on the matter? Which scenes (or even full episodes) from the first couple seasons made the biggest impact on you? What made the show appealing to you initially?
  14. Hi everyone, So as the title suggests, how do you feel when you re-watch episodes from earlier Seasons of Pony? As we get closer and closer to the release of S6, I was feeling a bit nostalgic and went back and watched some episodes from the very 1st season. I can't believe S1 aired nearly 6 years ago! I baby-sit a kid who is 6 years old and it freaks me out that fans who were born when the show 1st aired are now old enough to start grade school . It amazes me how far we've come from MLP's humble beginnings. I suddenly feel so old whenever I catch a S1 episode on TV. It was a much simpler time back then. The show could not take as many risks as it can now as writers had to abide to Hasbro's E/I (Educational and Informational) standards. Hasbro was testing out the waters with the show and even they weren't sure that it would last this long. Thankfully, E/I was dropped starting with Season 2 allowing for more engaging storytelling . Going back to re-watch Season 1 is like going back to playing Pokemon Red and Blue on the GameBoy after playing Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire on the 3DS. Sure it is nostalgic and great fun, but you quickly remember how far we've come since then . Feel free to agree or disagree with my analogy. It's why I rank the later seasons higher than the earlier ones, and can't stand those who say that episodes after a specific season are plain garbage (which is an entirely different discussion that i'll keep separate from this 1 ).
  15. So, I just noticed this. Did anyone else catch the Hitchiker's Guide To The Galaxy reference?
  16. I gotta wonder... Has anyone tried this? I kind of want to try it, but my first reaction is "gross!" Just wondered if anyone else was brave enough to try it, and if so... how was it?
  17. What if instead of a Pegasus, we were introduced to Flutterbat in the first episode? Same personality, same mannerisms, but as Flutterbat. How would that effect fan attention, reaction and acceptance of FlutterShy? Would more or less people like Shy as a bat than now? Would they relate to her more or less? How would this effect her standing in the show today?
  18. This is a series i'm doing called my little vines, it is an mlp parody of vines, i take audio or clips from vines, songs or any other thing that would make the clip fun to watch, i have a blast making these and am in the production of the 3rd part, each video will be about 5-10 mins long and will have plenty of entertainment, i hope you enjoy it. 19. Wow, all the topics I make involve favorites or least favorites. Lol. But yeah, self explanitory. Least favorite episode? Mine is any episode that centers around the CMC. (Call of the cutie, Cutie Pox, etc.) I dont like the characters all that much, except Apple Bloom. It just doesn't appeal. I would rather see the main ponies. The only exception is Cutie Mark Chronicals. It involved more on the main 6. I also don't like "Suited for Sucess" and "Green isn't your color." Too much "Fashion" stuff...
  20. I'm very surprised this topic doesn't exist already. (Or it does and i'm just oblivious) So I have seen a lot of posts about how people think Season 5 is quite possibly the best season of the series. These are quickly followed up by people who either agree or disagree with them, normally followed up with about 1000 characters of explanation arguing that their opinion is right. I for one am in the boat that the earlier seasons were better, but I won't lie and say that a big part of that isn't the nostalgia talking. Each season had some redeeming qualities that could make it the best season. Season 1: The first episodes most of us watched. Twilight learned what it means to be a friend. Letters to Celestia wrapped up each episode, a nostalgia trigger for many up-to-date bronies. Each character had their time in the spotlight, where they learned about themselves and we were right there with them. Quirky humor, friendship, and a brand new world filled with characters and locales just waiting for us were the bread and butter of My Little Pony's first season. Season 2: Starting of with the both the best premiere and villain in popular opinion, this season opened its doors to locations outside of Ponyville. This season had the mane six delve beyond what it meant to be a friend. They learned about responsibly, the sacrifices of having a sibling, and that it doesn't matter what you are, but who you are. Season 2 had one of the most surprisingly action-packed and story-driven finales at the time, one that many still consider the best. This season had more in-depth questions about friendship, along with an increased amount of character development, and overall a direct upgrade to everything that made season 1 great. Season 3: Although only half as long as prior seasons, this season still had memorable episodes including Rainbow Dash at the wonderbolt academy, Pinkie and the Magic Mirror pool, and the return of fan favorite: Trixie. This season contained two of shows biggest story changes: Discords Reform, and Twilight's Ascension. Along with a great season premiere, revealing an entire new race, villain, and location, this season can still hold its own against full 26 episode seasons. Season 4: Perhaps the biggest jumps and changes in series history. This season saw the show staple, The Elements of Harmony, being put back into the Tree of Harmony, and effectively rendered inert for the remainder of the series. This was the first season to feature Princess Twilight, and although it wasn't used extensively, it was a prominent plot point in the series Finale. Which was arguably the most action-packed, heartfelt, and suspenseful episode(s) to date. With two overarching stories (Equestria games and Rainbow Power) to weave this season together, this season had some of the best continuity episode to episode. Season 5: Starting with a finale that wasn't about a world-shattering conflict, and instead taking a more down to Earth approach, it was obvious from the get-go that this season would be talking more mature and dark topics. This was further reinforced after the Mane six experienced unwanted cutie marks, grief, communism (however debatable), politics, war, anarchy, and self-torture within the first half of the season. This season also does a good job of showcasing Twilights new role as 'Princess of Friendship', by including her role in Equestrian politics, organizing delegation summits, and making amends to her lost friends. This season has some of the most far-reaching nods to earlier seasons. This includes, but is not limited to, Twilight making amends to her past mistakes in the first episode, the Grand Galloping Gala, the power ponies, and Flutterbat. This season is certainly one for the books. With these quick synopses above, lets finally answer this once and for all. Which Season of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic was truly the best?
  21. Hello everypony! Here is my newest sculpture of the largest Diamond Dog! I think this one is named Fido, but I'm not 100% sure on that. If anypony knows the names of each Diamond Dog (official guidebook has Fido, Rover, and Spot- but doesn't specify) please let me know. Here are the pics- Enjoy!
  22. Well, a review on a Season 1 episode during Season 5. Yeah, this review made me realize how far behind I am. Regardless, today we're going to look at the first Applejack centric episode of the show; Applebuck Season. Feel free to leave a comment down below. I'd love to talk about this episode with you!
  23. Welcome to the "Pick a Flaw" thread for the first Applejack-centered episode. In it, Applejack's main flaw in her character, her stubbornness, is introduced and played a gigantic role throughout, from the party to the hilarious shenanigans to finally admitting to wanting help at the very end. It's also a bit controversial because her main flaw was really explored to the depth it hasn't covered since, leaving some bronies (including other Applejack bronies) to wonder if they're at a standstill with her. Like the others, pick the flaw that stands out to you or find to be the one that can determine the overall enjoyment or quality of the episode. My choice is going to the length of Applejack's stubborness. It's one thing to exploit it, but another to exploit it simply to plod the plot. The conflict lasted way too long, and several of the scenes were written more for the humor aspect. Although the scenes with Appljack hitting the seesaw and the baked bads are extremely funny, some like celebrating Applejack's deed to save Ponyville and then the overdramatic rabbit stampede are way too corny and disrupted the overall flow. In addition, Applejack was too stubborn for far too long, turning the episode into one where it's difficult not to watch the clock and wonder when it'll end. Overall, it's a decent episode, but it could've served its time much better. 24. In the first episode of season one, a pony named Moondancer is mentioned. Lemon Hearts, Twinkleshine, and Minuette tried to invite Twilight to Moondancer's party, but she never went. My guess is that Moondancer was Twilight's old friend. She is no longer mentioned in the show. She was a first generation pony. What ever happened to her? How would the storyline be different if Twilight went to her party? If Twilight never went to her party, she probably wouldn't have met Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, Rarity, and Applejack. Lemon Hearts, Twinkleshine, Minuette, and Moondancer along with Twilight would've represented the elements of harmony, although in this case there would only be five total which is not enough unless Twilight met someone else at the party. Here is G1 Moondancer: Here is what she might have looked like in G4:
