  1. I have a Twilight Sparkle 3D model, but the latest versions of Blender are ruining it. I downloaded the model from CreatorOfPony's DeviantArt page.
  2. Since Twilight hasn't visited Richville, she decided to get some information from a newest Wonderbolt member from the town: Blue Wings.
  3. Hub Welcome to the Twilight Sparkle Fan club! Twilight Sparkle is the faithful student of Princess Celestia who is tasked in studing the magic of friendship. She holds magical powers unknown to even Celestia and she can use these powers, along with the Elements of Harmony to stop anypony who would harm her friends. She perfers keeping to herself and her books. She is the element of Magic. Kyronea's thoughts on Twilight Warning: long thought-fueled post ahead. Rules of this thread -No spamming post to become biggest fans -This is a children’s show, and believe it or not there are younger people who go on these forums, please limit content to suggestive only. For example you may post a picture of two ponies kissing, but they cannot be doing anything inappropriate, or showing things inappropriate. -Do not post a picture of Applejack in the Rainbow Dash forum, because Applejack belongs in the Applejack forum. -Do not hate on another fan club, for example posting in the Fluttershy forum "Twilight is better!" -I have the ability to decide whether you are doing something inappropriate or not, if I deem you are doing something unnecessary and I ask you to stop, please stop. Common Sense my little ponies. -All of MLP Forums rules still apply. This is the Twilight Sparkle thread, please only post her. If you have recomendations for another pony club, go to the hub (linked at the top of the screen).
  4. When did Twilight freaking out (so called "Twilighting" by the show itself) became a thing? And why do we see her like it so often? Not in a context of her freaking out as a story, but her freaking out for the sake of freaking out. Is it because Lesson Zero got so much praise? I don't get it. If it's so, Lesson Zero's Twilight freaking out actually drove the story forward and brought the character the place where she wouldn't ever go otherwise. The Twilight's freak out I'm pointing out, that doesn't affect the story. Other ponies just calm her down and she moves on. Is it because the writers want to give her characteristics and flaws? If so, it's not so subtle especially when the show has to push it and meme it in a contrived manner. Is it the new cornerstone to establish the character? I think there are many better ways to show Twilight's character. Is it because It's About Time? Even if we saw her freaking out many times before, most of it was to drive the story forward or accentuate the theme (The Ticket Master), or it was genuinely an incident that anyone could freak out (Swarm of the Century). The point is, I don't want characteristics thrown in without considerations of the context. I used to think Twilight was more stable than most ponies and could function great under pressure and facing stressful situations. She often seemed more distant from the problem than most ponies would and could focus more on books and nerdy stuff she's interested (Look Before You Sleep). Twilighting might seem to make her "Relatable" by giving her obvious flaws, but it used to work for complimenting the story and the theme. I guess The Crystal Empire started this, but it's going on for too long. I don't see the point of constantly making Twilight hyperventilate whenever some big responsibilities occurs. It doesn't get anywhere and makes her look incompetent. Most of all, I got bored by it. They should make new interesting ways to show it or slowly get rid of it as she grows as an authority and gains competence. She felt more like an authority when she was guiding ponies in Ponyville in season 1-3 than now. Because she handled thing like a boss. Old habits die hard, it's what real peoples are like. But more important than any of that, is that MLP is a show. Remember Fluttershy being shy? They showed it over and over but it didn't bother me because they showed various ways of showing it and they utilized it as for making stories. If Twilighting is all of what she's got, it's also a bad news. I think Twilight is much more than that and freaking out isn't her defining characteristics. A character should reveal themselves through the story, not as a duty protocol. They should have seen Twilighting and the fact that it's being accumulated enough to become a meme as a problem and tried to fix it, by making variations of it or changing the context of how it's used, instead of self referencing it. What do you think? Do you it fits the character of Twilight? Do you think it fits the story and the theme? Do you think it should stay the way it is or change?
  5. That seems to be the most important thing to me about the final. Will Twilight Sparkle get even bigger? Will she outshine Princess Celestia in size one day? And would Princess Celestia get mad and magically make herself bigger out of spite if that happens?
  6. HUB Welcome everypony to MLP Forum's own Mane Six fan club! Source I'm aware that all of the Mane Six ponies have their own individual clubs, but this is the place for fans of all of the ponies as a group to hang out! Everyone is welcome to join in on posting Mane Six artwork, fan videos, music, comics, avatars, banners, and any other creative media that you wish to share. It can be your own work, or just something you found on the internet. There will also be occasional discussions pertaining to the Mane Six, as well as polls from time to time. These are completely optional, so feel free to discuss whatever you'd like to, as long as it's relevant to the club. - No, you don't have to love every one of the Mane Six ponies to join the club, but I do hope you at least like all of them to some extent. This is for positive discussions, so no hatred for any members of the group please. This is simply a place to come in and appreciate the main cast. - No fighting over who is best pony. Be respectful. Yes, we all have a personal favorite, and you can talk about your favorite all you want, but no arguing over which character is better please. If anyone has any questions, comments, concerns, suggestions, or ideas, please speak up. I would really like for this club to be successful, so I am all ears. Let's get the ball rolling with a pic:
  7. Okay so I have said quite a few times on here that I am not a fan of twilicorn but despite my misgivings I am trying to at least look on the bright side and can think of a few ways this might still work. Before I begin though I have noticed that several critics of twilicorn have said that this could work if it is temporary but I do not agree with this. Sure the way twilicorn was introduced may have been pitifully lazy writing but to simply grant alicorn status out of nowhere and then take it away as quickly as it was given would also be lazy writing and lazy writing cannot be solved with more lazy writing. 1. Twilight as princess of friendship: this will probably happen regardless of whether or not this actually works out so it is highly unlikely that Twilight will leave her friends. Think about it, she is the element of magic which is a combination of all the other 5 elements of harmony and the title of the show is "Friendship is Magic". Expecting the princess of friendship to leave her friends would be like expecting Cadence as the princess of love to not be with Shining Armor. Twilight if anything will need her friends more than ever as she gets used to her new responsibilities as a princess, Rainbow Dash could teach her about flying as some have pointed out for example. Rarity could teach her about some of the finer points of high society etiquette though I am sure Twilight is well versed on it being Celestia's apprentice a little sprucing up though never hurt anypony. Applejack could help her sort through all the BS, suck ups and flank kissers trying to get in good with the new princes that will inevitably come her way. Pinkie Pie could help cheer her up when she is feeling down or discouraged and maybe make it a little less likely to have Lesson Zero moment. 2. A rational explanation as to why the coronation was so abrupt: there are many different potential scenarios I have come up with in my head and most of them involve some kind of emergency. We all know that alicorns get a massive power boost so perhaps whatever threat is lurking required Twilight to take this power boost a bit sooner than Celestia had originally planned. It could be a new villain or the return of an old villain it could even link to why Celestia wanted to reform Discord. There is nothing that will completely get rid of the abrupt nature of this change but it can be smoothed over slightly with some good writing. 3. Twilight's power grows slowly over time: my biggest concern with twilicorn was that Twilight would become too powerful too fast making her a Mary Sue. But having great power dosen't mean you have complete control over it, during this one flashback scene where it showed how Twilight got her cutie mark she had a massive magic surge which not only caused Spike to hatch from his egg but to temporarily grow into a fully grown dragon. Thanks to her years of training and study she has much greater control over her powers then she did back then but turning into an alicorn is far more significant than simply slapping a pair of wings on Twilight. We don't know how big of a power boost that Twilight got but we know that is probably fairly substantial. We saw from Magic Duel that while Twilight was far more powerful than your average unicorn still had her limitations and as a alicorn if this is done correctly will still have some limitations. Simply put if Twilight is able to perform the kind of spells Trixie did under the influence of the alicorn amulet right off the bat than I am going to be seriously pissed. If written correctly Twilight could learn to master those kinds of spells and other high level unicorn and alicorn spells gradually over the course of a few more seasons.
  8. Yesterdays thread: http://mlpforums.com...-drew-a-rarity/ Anyway, as per request of Electrobolt, I drew Twilight Sparkle. I tried to take a closer up picture...meh. I absolutely DETEST the coloring on this. I never should have colored her in the first place, I don't have the right colors. Anyway, please point out the flaws, besides her left back leg... Also, tomorrow I will draw Vinyl Scratch for DJ Clock Work. Hopefully it will be better then this monster...
  9. I don't know why I have been thinking of this but.. here we go! Rainbow Dash: 5'2 Pinkie Pie: 5'3 Twilight Sparkle: 5'5 Rarity: 5'6 Fluttershy: 5'9 Applejack: 5'10 Rainbow and Pinkie being short... Twilight and Rarity being average... Fluttershy and Applejack being tall. This is just how I kind of see them based on their personalities and even how they are drawn.. Thoughts?
  10. So, I've been thinking... If there is a humanized version of everypony in Equestria in this High School place, wouldn't there already be a humanized version of Twilight there? Would Twilight have to meet her human-dimension self in the movie? Or did her soul replace the already-human Twilight's soul? Or was there just not one for some reason? What do you think?
  11. You’re invited for a sleepover with Sci-Twi and the human Mane 5. As a prank Sci-Twi gets you into a deep sleep, then dresses you in her uniform, down to knickers, vest, and socks. Experiencing a weird feeling, you wake up the next day and discover the prank. Reaction?
  12. OK, so now for a very important topic. I think it's good that we're able to discuss critical issues like this here. What side is Twilight Sparkle's pink streak on? It usually appears to be on her left (our right), but occasionally randomly shows up on her right (our left). For example, here's Twilight in Rarity's shop in Ticket Master, and her mane is on her right. Moments, later it's back to its usual spot. OK, maybe that can be explained by the fact that she was in the process of shaking off her wet mane. But later on in the episode, we see her answering the door to Applejack with it on the right, and once she's out of the door being offered various apple treats, it's moved back to the other side! So maybe, the animators just put the streak on whatever side is closest to the "camera"? No, that's not it either! It quite often appears behind her horn. Also, just for fun, here's a picture of Twilight rocking the denched-as-a-rat look.

  16. In the episode "Molt Down" Rarity's ears became clogged by some effect of Peewee's feathers. But in season 1 and 3 "A bird in the Hoof" and "Just for Sidekicks", Celestia's pet Philomena didn't seem to have any effect on anypony including giving Fluttershy one of her feathers, and we don't see much but a few pictures of Peewee as a baby phoenix with Spike and Twilight. The possible reasons as of to why is: 1. Maybe there is a difference between wild and domesticated phoenixes, that wild phoenixes need to defend (themselves, eggs, nest, family, etc) and therefore develop genes as a defence where domesticated don't, Peewee for being so young when Spike returned him to his family didn't have as much time being with Spike compared to being in the wild with his family. 2. Another is that Rarity might be allergic to them. It might be a very rare allergy (pun not intended) which is why we have never herd of it until now except for Zecora. And both could clear what Zecora said "Ah, the feathers of that bird can affect ponies' ears", the keyword being "can" as though it possible to but not 100% that it will. 3. One other that might explain Philomena but not Peewee is that Celestia might have some kind of spell on Philomena to have her feathers not have an effect on ponies.
  17. Anypony been able to find My Magical Princess Twilight Sparkle in any stores? Not a big fan of ordering online, to many bad experiences.

  19. IS TWILIGHT READY?
  20. First let me clarify a few things. First, I DON'T hate her, I just like the rest of the mane six a LOT more. And second, this is NOT an "anti-Twilight" thread. So it seems like having Twilight as your least favorite has become frowned upon, but why??? It's OK to talk smack about Rainbow Dash and Rarity who are my favorite and second favorite ponies respectably. I've seen many anti-Rainbow Dash and anti-Rarity threads all over the internet and I ask myself why people even hate anyone in the mane six. So about Twilight, I just think she's a bit quirky for me and a bit OCDish. Now I still think she's pretty funny like how she went batsh*t insane in Lesson Zero. And lets not forget when she beat Rainbow Dash and Applejack in a race. My point is, I don't hate Twilight I just like everyone else more (yes even Applejack).
  21. The amulet the princesses made for Twilight in season 9 when she was going to take over as ruler of Equestria, did they originally have that being quickly made and infusing it with their when all magic was being drained from Equestria. Sense magical artifacts took 3 days to be drained of their magic, and the amulet could be considered as one, explaining how the day and night where changing with the princesses not having their magic.
  22. Note: Taken from here and edited. A second, fuller review/analysis of how it's the perfect FIM finale is on the way. - A nitpick, but the adults are looking a little older than what they show. They're all at least in their mid-thirties if not closer to 40, but the giant bags under their eyes make them look like they're older than Bow Hothoof or Windy Whistles. Lighter, smaller, subtler lines under their eyes may work more to better match that range. - Twilight apparently had a little too much trouble relocating sheep away from the line, and her animation as Future Twi isn't very polished. +/- Twilight looking like a Celestia recolor was a major surprise (and I can see why some don't like it), but over time, I've become more and more used to her. Her hair's beautiful, but the lack of strap over her crest makes it look like it's floating over her chest instead of being hooked around. + The new interior of the Throne Room is absolutely breathtaking. Beautiful color palette pleasing to the eye, excellent callbacks via the stained-glass windows (including updates since the finale, like Flurry Heart officially becoming princess and the Y6 saving the School), and the lighter pastel making the bolder-colored characters pop out. + Spike really shows how much he's evolved since becoming the ambassador, and I don't mean physically or vocally. He's part-royalty, Twilight's equal, and has done a spectacular job maintaining harmony throughout the world. Recall the very beginning of the episode, which he states to Twilight how he mediates peace between the Diamond Dogs and Abyssinians, a reference to one of the comics where Capper's originally from). Also, he's more mature despite maintaining a kid-like attitude, too. + What Twilight prophesied during the final battle before the last friendship laser comes true. Fifteen or twenty years into the future, several races are now at harmony with each other. Dragons, griffons, kirin, hippogriffs, yaks, changelings, and ponies are all in harmony together. There's no infighting; everyone's communicating with each other happily and without prejudice. Not only did everyone come to embrace the Magic of Friendship. But their own lives improved, too. (You got to see some of this affect the ReMane Six later, as Ocellus, Silversteam and Smolder teach at the School of Friendship, and Rarity lives and sells fashion at her boutique in Yakyakistan.) + Luster Dawn has that same naivety as Twilight, but at a very different angle. Twilight thought making friends was a waste of time, period, though was apparently never really taught friendship at any point. Sure, Twilight had friends in Canterlot, but never reciprocated those feelings. Here, Twilight teaches her best and most faithful student how friendship's the most powerful and most important magic in the School for Gifted Unicorns, but due to their time separated over the years, Luster wonders if friendship is worth it if the friendships fade away. Unlike Twilight back then, Luster's more outgoing, but doesn't embrace friendship as a result of seeing Twilight spend most of her time ruling alone. + As a result, Twilight tells and explains very intricately about how it can be easy to make friends, but it's much, much harder to maintain them. They may be separate more now, but they always stay connected so they have each others' backs whenever something bad happens or catch up on things. Back in her days, Celestia mostly had Twilight learn to make friends and understand friendship on her own. Here, she shows Luster that friends always matter in the most proactive, teaching way possible. Arranging a meeting with Luster on the day all gather. + The flashback itself is emotional. Twilight was absolutely justified to feel super upset and scared what happens next. The big baddies are in stone sleep, but all of them have lives. Despite the promise of ruling together, we don't know how they're gonna rule together, budget their time to do so, and if they'll remain together at all. She's moving away to Canterlot, and the day of the coronation may be her goodbye. It was also very subtle and impactful for the RM5 to use their preparation to admit they're grieving, too. They're so unnaturally happy and casual to see Twilight head off to Canterlot, but their conversation at the Castle of Friendship shows how that happiness is truly everything but. They don't know if Twilight will be able to communicate with them ever again. Also, the criticism of Twilight not moving the capital of Equestria to Ponyville's nonsense. Canterlot has been Equestria's capital for well over a millennium, if not before Celestia and Luna were princesses. In addition to Canterlot having a firmer legacy than Ponyville, moving an entire capital would be a task of epic proportions. To be able to share their sadness, fright, and despair reminds he audience how close they are, no matter what trials they face. They were scared, and it's okay for them to be scared. Their cries felt very real, and it's heartbreaking to see them all slowly break down, especially ones like Pinkie (her words just got me crying, literally). Everyone was so obsessed and focused on the "perfect" coronation that everything went terribly wrong so quickly when things got complicated. The hilarious screwups were a very refreshing break from the drama. With the coronation over, they can laugh it off knowing it's over. They had their hardships today, and to have this break means they can relax. Because of this, Twilight has a clear head now and can use that knowledge over the years to come up with a great idea: every moon, they meet once under the Council of Friendship. It was a challenge they had to face, and they found a way to conquer it. The ending really marks the end of a long era, mirroring FIM's, too. Celestia and Luna are no longer ruling, and they felt confident in letting Twilight and her friends rule Equestria on their own. Yes, they'll be more happy to help her whenever they need it, but the RM7 are confident and can be trusted in helping Equestria move on to its next chapter. + The moral is excellent in concept and better than excellent in execution. I already talked about that extensively. + The episode took another bold, daring direction by giving everyone definitive lives with both occupations and sometimes love lives. not only on what they're doing. CheesePie, SugarMac, YonaBar, and LyraBon are more than confirmed, but ones like FlutterCord and AppleDash are hinted with subtle clues (i.e., Fluttershy's lunch bag and bluebells, AJ/RD's banter). It's DHX's story, but their lives also have a purpose: no matter how much your lives change, your friendships keep you connected. Everyone's extremely busy now, but they always manage to meet together. When they don't, they see them. Starlight and Sunburst still lead the thriving School of Friendship. Look closely, and you see all of the confidence from the Young Six. (For example, Smolder openly has tea with Ocellus, a hobby she once derided and hid until What Lies Beneath.) + Not everything ends happily. Granny Smith and Goldie Delicious are gone now, and AJ and AB are wearing their scarves in their honor. + The Magic of Friendship Grows. All of it. It's emotional, hopeful, and beautiful. This song got me crying at times. The background shots during the final chorus are extremely moving and very well-done. But there are two things to mention: The final shot of all seven watching Luster walk away with new friends is absolutely fantastic. Even more beautiful is the sunset glow, a literal twilight sparkle as one YouTuber wrote. The final shot: the book to open FIM closes, indicating the end of an era. (Pay attention to the "fin" on the left page, a great piece of detail in a show that doesn't always show the English alphabet so clearly.) This is an EXCELLENT episode! A magnificent cap to a great, successful show!

  24. After watching the final episode of MLP: FIM, I knew I had to get back into writing more FanFiction. After almost a year, I decided to finish the first chapter of my second story. Please be sure to check it out on Fimfiction (link below) and feel free to leave any constructive feedback or criticism A Sapling of Friendship A treasure trove of old books and scrolls, the Golden Oak library stood for generations, sharing knowledge beyond its roots, knowledge that stretched to the far ends of Equestria. For many, it was merely a library, but for Twilight, it was home. With its absence marks a growing dilemma for Twilight, a problem that begins to plague her and her friends. Things are changing, a fact that each of them struggle to accept. But as time moves on, will their friendship change as well?
