  1. For me, Hell no. By the time the two-part Season Four premiere comes out, it's going to be a save-the-world story like previous season premieres, except this time it'll have Twilight sacrifice her wings and princesshood to save her friends from whatever evil threat the writers pit her against. Besides, if you're going to turn Twilight into a princess, you might as well turn Rarity into a world-famous fashion designer, and Rainbow Dash into a Wonderbolt, while making both those characters leave each other and their other friends behind to do so. If Twilight's gonna break up with the Mane Six, the rest might as well do so, too... except maybe Fluttershy, Applejack, and Pinkie, because they'll probably stay in Ponyville for their own reasons (animals, farm-life, and "hey, why not", respectively). And yes, I'm still struggling to get over the shock of seeing Twilight become a princess. And yes, I'd rather the humanized ponies from Equestria Girls, than Princess Twilight, because at the very least the former doesn't break continuity like the latter.
  2. this was based off of the confrontation between Nightmare Moon and Twilight in the first two parter of season 1, the feelings and atmosphere there will always stick out to me for how tense and amazing it was!
  3. I tried to draw a royal portrait for Twi This is the first time I attempt to draw digital oil painting, without references(second time if counting with references) Since I personally prefer Twi pre-timeskip, I drew this version instead
  4. I know this is from S1 but it’s just so weird to talk about this again.Im sure everypony has seen crazy Twilight somewhere. I know that she has OCD problems about that lesson and her brain snaps.Anypony found this episode, slightly weird because of this? Yeah twilight, sadly you might be
  5. So that scene when Twilight snaps at Pinkie... I keep seeing A LOT of people saying that the scene bugs them. I figured it's worth discussing. Think about it; Twilight DOES NOT DO WELL with FAILING or F@#&ing things up. Now add on top of that the fact the princesses are stone and it seems more likely by the minute that she's going to be next. Then bye bye Equestria. She also really doesn't know what to do anymore at that point in the movie. As their journey has been going on, friendship seems more and more to be an Equestria only thing. So she's backed into a corner and now it seems like her friends are starting to go against her too... BOOM- Involuntary magic reflex. I found the scene fine- But I actually think they could have gone a little further. There could have been more of a magic buildup. She could have been walking more towards Pinkie (with Pinkie crouching down more) and then when she was just about to "zap" her, Rarity could have stepped in, forming a magic shield or something and then yelling at Twilight. I think it would have taken the scene up a notch. I don't think it would have really "realistically" (aka beyond the TV Y rating) been out of character for Twilight given the circumstances. I also think it would have been an even more powerful scene when Twilight realized what almost happened. Too Dark? So what did you think of the scene? Did they go too far? Did you think it was fine? Should they have handled it differently?
  6. So, we all know twilight is the main character of the show, but who in the main six would be the 2nd main character after twilight? I'm thinking either Pinkie or Dash. What do you guys think?
  7. There is a site that has text to speech voices based off of My Little Pony. They can be found here, but keep in mind that sometimes the site is under maintenance.
  8. This is a depressing scenario I like to create in my head. Hope it isn't too bad. Imagine this: You are a young stallion living in Ponyville with no family, no friends, and not known very well. Your parents died at a young age, and you've been living with your uncle and aunt since then - but once you grew old enough, they sent you away because they could not keep supporting another person, much less an adult. You know next-to-nothing about friendship, but are a kind-hearted pony. Did I mention you are not well-known? Not even Pinkie Pie can make heads or tails of your existence, as you are reclusive and shy to approach other ponies. But you are not a Fluttershy; you're more nervous than her, more self-concious than her, and do not have the joy of friendship that drives Fluttershy around and keeps her sane. You admire Twilight Sparkle and her ability to understand and make new friends wherever she may go, and are secretly a big fan of the Mane 6, to the point where you have a crush on her... however, the first time you met her, she did not seem to want to talk to you. The following days you attempted to approach her again, but she becomes increasingly annoyed by your presence. You attempt to brave up and talk to other Mane 6, but it appears that they've been informed of you and they try to avoid you as well. You hang your head in sadness and disappointment, feeling that they really don'y want to be around you, but you decide to make it up to Twilight somehow. When the day comes, you spot her near Sweet Apple Acres, just a few meters outside of the entrance. You approach her, and she seems annoyed by your presence once again. Uneasy, you try to talk to her by handing her presents and putting forth your best smile. Becoming even more angry, however, she tells you to go away and to stop trying to talk to her. You ask her why in a nervous tone and she outright says she does not like you... which you become taken really aback by. Uttering the words "but I'm lonely...", she finally responds with "you deserve to be lonely, in that case", and storms off to her library. You come to the sudden realization that you really are lonely. You realize that not even the Element of Magic wants to be your friend. How do you react? What do you think Twilight would do afterwards? I'll finish off my stuff with I'd be shocked like all hell afterwards and that was just a direct blow to my psyche. How did I ever deserve this kind of treatment from someone I think highly of?
  9. When did Twilight freaking out (so called "Twilighting" by the show itself) became a thing? And why do we see her like it so often? Not in a context of her freaking out as a story, but her freaking out for the sake of freaking out. Is it because Lesson Zero got so much praise? I don't get it. If it's so, Lesson Zero's Twilight freaking out actually drove the story forward and brought the character the place where she wouldn't ever go otherwise. The Twilight's freak out I'm pointing out, that doesn't affect the story. Other ponies just calm her down and she moves on. Is it because the writers want to give her characteristics and flaws? If so, it's not so subtle especially when the show has to push it and meme it in a contrived manner. Is it the new cornerstone to establish the character? I think there are many better ways to show Twilight's character. Is it because It's About Time? Even if we saw her freaking out many times before, most of it was to drive the story forward or accentuate the theme (The Ticket Master), or it was genuinely an incident that anyone could freak out (Swarm of the Century). The point is, I don't want characteristics thrown in without considerations of the context. I used to think Twilight was more stable than most ponies and could function great under pressure and facing stressful situations. She often seemed more distant from the problem than most ponies would and could focus more on books and nerdy stuff she's interested (Look Before You Sleep). Twilighting might seem to make her "Relatable" by giving her obvious flaws, but it used to work for complimenting the story and the theme. I guess The Crystal Empire started this, but it's going on for too long. I don't see the point of constantly making Twilight hyperventilate whenever some big responsibilities occurs. It doesn't get anywhere and makes her look incompetent. Most of all, I got bored by it. They should make new interesting ways to show it or slowly get rid of it as she grows as an authority and gains competence. She felt more like an authority when she was guiding ponies in Ponyville in season 1-3 than now. Because she handled thing like a boss. Old habits die hard, it's what real peoples are like. But more important than any of that, is that MLP is a show. Remember Fluttershy being shy? They showed it over and over but it didn't bother me because they showed various ways of showing it and they utilized it as for making stories. If Twilighting is all of what she's got, it's also a bad news. I think Twilight is much more than that and freaking out isn't her defining characteristics. A character should reveal themselves through the story, not as a duty protocol. They should have seen Twilighting and the fact that it's being accumulated enough to become a meme as a problem and tried to fix it, by making variations of it or changing the context of how it's used, instead of self referencing it. What do you think? Do you it fits the character of Twilight? Do you think it fits the story and the theme? Do you think it should stay the way it is or change?
  10. Yeah, I get that it's a portmanteau of Twilight and Alicorn, but it makes no sense to me. Twilight was a unicorn originally, and the "-icorn" part is in unicorn as well, so it could easily refer to unicorn Twilight. If she has to have nickname, it should be "Alitwi" or something, not Twilicorn (but ultimately they all sound bad to me.)
  11. I am not sure if this is the correct place to put this and I do apologize if its in the wrong spot so with that out of the way. Like the title says nothing is safe from Twilight's friendship she is always shoving friendship down everything's throat, but she never thinks that maybe they are not compatible as friends not every pony/ creature is going to like each other and get along when will the friendship madness end and who will she strike next? I understand its a kids show so before you all kill me where I stand uh hmmm O HEY LOOK PINKIE PIE AND FLUTTERSHY is over there yeah just look over there *flees while you all turn away to look. Well with that out of the way what do you guys think? does Twilight become a little overbearing with the friendship or is she just fine with the way she goes about pairing everybody up as friends?
  12. Rarity's, Pinkie's, Twilight's, AJ's, Fluttershy's, or RB's? I found it very hard to decide... I gotta say either Rarity's or RB's. Fluttershy's was also really pretty.
  13. When Human twilight went though the portal she was a unicorn, but when she ponies up she has wings but through the portal she doesn't, PLEASE EXPLAIN
  14. Hello! For weeks I have been working on a story about ponies, I am still creating the characters and this led me to wonder what makes the personalities of each of the Mane Six different? For example I know that the characters are usually classified by 'extroverts' and 'introverts', Rarity, Rainbow and Pinkie are the first, and Fluttershy, Twilight and Applejack (although I'm not sure about her) are the second, but still within those groups, personalities are different, for example Rarity is what society considers as feminine, and Rainbow what is considered masculine, Pinkie is also feminine but not in the same way that Rarity, in introverts, Fluttershy is considered as femenine, Twilight and Applejack as masculine. What do you think? What makes their personalities different?
  15. If Twilight had never made contact with the rest of the Mane 6 as Celestia had expected her to, and they weren't around for any of their biggest battles (Chrysalis, Mightmare Moon, etc) what would've happened to Equestria? Would the royal sisters have persisted on in defending the kingdom without them, or was their formation timely enough to prevent Equestria's ruin?
  16. Heeeeeeey guess what??? My art has improved so much while I was gone! Obviously I'm excited to post my new art style here as well as draw more ponies again. Here is my most recent art of my gurl Twilight. I drew this within 2 hours on my brand new Huion tablet. X3 I posted it on my new DA account as well which is why my signature is LLD instead of PPP.
  17. WARNING! SPOILERS OF s9e26 "The Last Problem" AHEAD! Hey guys! I edited the 1st scene from "The Last Problem" to have
  18. Metaphorical Twilight Journey Then, when the day ends (Celestia), during sunset (Sunset), the twilight makes its brief appearance (Twilight) that unites day and night, but also divides them, brings the night back (Luna at the season premiere 1) next to the stars (Starlight in The Cutie Re-Mark), the entire night would be Twilight's journey (from whens she arrived in Ponyville until she left). The twilight would be from when she moved to Canterlot until the appearance of Luster Dawn. Again twilight appears and welcomes dawn, which means a new beginning, leaving behind the night and the previous day, beginning a new cycle of harmony. Celestia (day); Sunset; ---- Twilight (Night; Luna (moon) and (Star)light) Twilight ---- Luster (Dawn). -------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------- So what do you think? Makes sense? Does it fit the story?
  19. After twilight became a princess in season 3, Twilight literally became the 4th ever princess in Equestria. She is now royalty and have authority, but in episodes like Rarity takes Manehattan, not only was no pony showing respect to her, they didn't even realize she was a princess! Now, I understand she doesn't want to be "special", but how could no one recognize a princess? and one more thing. Suri Polomare in that episode was the most disgraceful and parasitical kind of being. they present the kind of character that is what drags our world down, and even though I disliked the bullies back in ponyville, Suri is a whole new picture and makes even the bullies look amateur. I don't understand why twilight didn't step in and do something, this is a Monarchy (since its ruled by royalty) and I bet mighty princess twilight who saved Equestria - twice - could have done just something to punish her.
  20. "Heyo!" "Welcome everypony!" "Welcome to this forced topic thread regarding our union, spawned by the most popular fanfiction ever created- Oof..." *Nudges roughly.* "We're not here to boast, honey... Ahem, we're here to gladly answer any and all inquiries you may have for either of us." "With some guest appearances by a certain baby lizard, and a pink student if needs be." "So don't be shy good friends. Everypony's welcome here to join the fun! Have an amazing time!" "And don't forget to like comment and subscribe!" *Collectively wide grinning.* ... "That good love?" "It's a work in progress certainly..."
  21. I'm speaking in the context of the Friendship is Magic canon, does Twilight have the potential to turn into a villain like Nightmare Moon and Daybreaker? Since Luna, Celestia, and Twilight have been rulers of Equestria, have flowing manes, are taller than the average pony, are alicorns, and have the responsibility of raising the sun and moon, is seems likely that Twilight would also have a potential evil alternate form like Celestia and Luna. Twilight's evil alternate form could be similar to Daybreak in the sense that she didn't become a reality but her potential to become a reality was there as seen in Starlight's dream.
  22. I was curious to see what most people think the Twilight/Spike relationship is most like.
  23. This was just posted to YouTube a few hours ago. It shows a animation test of the show that was done in July 2009. Clear differences here is that there's no background music and the voice acting of the main characters in particular. I wonder if this scene was added later on in the early seasons. REDACTED
