  1. It is getting harder and harder to fully understand where I fall categorically in regards to politics, and other aspects as well. After watching this video I'm really at a loss for words, and at a loss for thoughts. Even bearing in mind no human is infallible beforehand, I've almost come to believe every human is bound to succumb to hypocrisy because there is no foreseeable way to exit the system, and no way to get along with others who won't allow themselves to fall farther from the apple tree than they need to.
  2. If a country starts creating laws based on things we see in MLP and norms based on lessons and things like that, what do you think that country would be like? Would it even work?
  3. I would like a list of specific values (in various topics: economic, personal behaviour, treatment of others, relationships, family) from medieval-era Europe, as I would like to "make accurate" the medieval fantasy setting I might be writing about. Can you list any?
  4. Hey everypony c: So a huge theme in MLP is, obviously, friendship! I was wondering what you all personally value in a friend and what you think is most important. I included the Elements of Harmony (minus magic) but I believe there are many more qualities too look for in a companion. Personally, I think the most important quality, although its hard to choose, is understanding. The world would be a much more free and open place with a little more understanding! Many a pony feel like they need to hide and bottle certain things up because they believe no one can make the effort the understand something they don't necessarily face with themselves. I've spoken to many troubled and distressed souls just about to explode from all the problems they've been holding back! It's sad. This thread is all about friendship so if anypony needs a new friend PM me ^-^ If y'all got any more friendship qualities you want me to add to the poll let me know
  5. I actually like his character...okay, the design. What can I say, I'm a sucker for ponies with blue hair. I'm really getting bored with colored pencils.
  6. I was just thinking about this while I was playing a racing game. I wonder what other people value most in a car? Well You will start giving Opinions Choose between these values. You can choose more than one. Remember, we are talking about your dream car. Also tell us why to make use of the minimum 100 characters limit Values -Performance (Stats of the Car) -Style (Looks of the car) -Comfort (Difficulty of use) -Economy (Pricing) I tell you mine: Well the value I want in my dream car is Performance. Why? Because I wanted a powerful car. With very fast speeds and very accurate handling..etc . I wanted something that can be used on a race track. I don't like slow and sluggish cars. I actually like to race, because it is fun to beat someone. It's is always nice if car goes fast do a face of O_O. Dream car: Koenigsegg Agera R
  7. So often, I look around and see only hatred or distrust. Look left, a gay person is being harassed; look right, a Muslim is being labeled a terrorist. So often, we look at others and call them out. We hardly ever look at ourselves and see our faults and correct them. I figured this out during my sophomore year of high school but didn’t know what to do. It wasn’t until my junior year that I took action to better myself; I made myself a list of rules by which I guide myself: 1. A man always follows his rules 2. A man who breaks his rules is subject to his own conscience 3. A man always keeps true to his word, even at his own expense 4. A man never betrays his friends or his family 5. A man puts others before himself 6. A man never feels or speaks hate 7. A man will not try to alter one’s political, moral, or religious beliefs 8. A man has no place to judge another person unless he is perfect 9. A man strives to better himself, but he is NEVER perfect 10. A man has no need for violence I follow these rules almost religiously in my life, almost like a second set of Ten Commandments. There is no rule that is more important than the other; they each must be followed to the same degree. That’s what the first rule tells me. If I don’t follow my rules equally and constantly, then I have no point in having them. The second rule explains what happens if I break any of my rules. I don’t have to punish myself physically to know that I did something wrong, my own mind will be my punishment. I have to live with the knowledge that I’ve wronged someone, and in doing so, wronged myself as well. The third rule is one that I find myself struggling with a lot. So often I find people saying, “I promise I’ll do better,” or, “I swear that’ll never happen again,” but then, almost the next DAY, they are doing the exact same thing they just vowed not to do. It drove me insane and I could no longer tolerate seeing myself doing it. I guess the third rule has made me more aware of the things I say I’ll do, because now I’ve made myself accountable for my actions and words. The seventh rule is also one that I struggle with. It is basic human nature to want to make people see my way, but there is a limit. Once I start trying to convince someone that they’re wrong, I in fact become wrong. I can give someone all of the facts on a matter, but I have no right to try and change their mind on something. If I feel they are doing something wrong or making a bad choice, I can only hope that they will figure it out. And it sucks a lot because people won’t always make the right choice and I watch them get hurt, but I have to remember that I did my part. I hope that people read this someday, and see why I act the way I do. It’s not because I’m a wimp, or that I don’t care. I have rules. I have to follow them. Otherwise, I have to answer to the greatest influence on my life: myself.
  8. WARNING! CONDITION RED As many of you know, the state of the world economy (especially the condition of the United States) is in condition red. But that is not exactly what this short blog post is about. The condition red stands for two things: the state of our economy, and the state of our declining moral values. Especially when it comes to sex (another symbolic example of the condition "red"). As a nation, we no longer seem to have any moral values when it comes to sex. In fact, America seems to be obsessed with sex. We no longer seem to worship a divine figure, but our worship lies with money, sex, and anything else that "feels goods". So, why is this a problem? Well, to put it simply (even regardless of ones spiritual beliefs) a nation that is not able to control itself morally, will never be able to find stability. In fact, a historian did a study on 83 to 87 past nations and societies that eventually became obsessed with sex, and refused to recognize a moral guideline for it (especially Rome). When compared to other nations that found revival and re-established their moral values, that scary part is...all 83 to 87 societies that became addicted to sex and other immoral acts...failed. And that brings me to the main topic! If we don't re-establish what morals we are going to live by as a nation, how are we going to be able to sustain ourselves! This is the path of the nation, if we do not make a change: 1. From bondage to spiritual faith 2. From spiritual faith to great courage 3. From great courage to liberty 4. From liberty to abundance 5. From abundance to selfishness 6. From selfishness to complacency 7. From complacency to Apathy 8. From apathy to moral decay 9. From moral decay to dependence (RED ALERT!) 10. From dependence back to bondage. Now folks, there is hope! Also, this blog is titled "Reflections of Passion" and I am very passionate at attempting to find others that agree...we need a moral revival! This is a very short entry and I hope to elaborate on it much further, but for now, we need to recognize the problem before we think of ways to fix it. And this is the basic idea of the problem. Everypony, we are in CONDITION RED! And it's time to act.
