  1. Starting to build out all the actual tile maps to be used in the beginning segment of the game, up to the first badge and a little beyond, just to get players hooked and hungry for more. Now, while the completed Alpha won't be a thing until the entire game is playable start to finish, I do believe I can get the first part of the game out within the month of July. While everyone is enjoying the new story, learning the mechanics, interacting with the world, and getting that first badge, I'll be working on getting the demo in as many Let's Player's hands as possible by day and implementing the rest of the design notes by night. Time to put everything I've got into a super-polished build that'll make people go nuts when they try it. Time to make sure every 30 seconds of the game gives players a Ben & Jerry's sized chunk of fun to chew on. Time to get Battle Gem Ponies on the map! Read More: yotesgames.com

    first time bronycon

so this is my first time ever going to a convention out of state and i was wondering if anyone is doing a split hotel deal. i got my plane tickets and now i just need to figure out the hotel XD
  3. Can't believe I'm still working on recreating these dang #BattleGemPonies menus! I feel horrible for taking so much longer than I keep promising out loud, but I can feel in my bones that delaying is the right thing to do... Also, finally got a response from BronyCon on if the panel is happening or not.See #GameDev Log #169: www.yotesgames.com

    LGBTQ+ panel topic

So I, your lovable, furry now panel host, will be hosting a discussion at Bronycon on LGBTQ+ things in the fandom. I am posting here (or where ever in the event this gets moved) to get an idea from bronies, what they would lie to see in a panel like this and what things I should talk about. I want a feel for how I should run the panel and of course an outline of what topics I should discuss.

    Questions about Bronycon

This summer will be my first time going to Bronycon ever. I have a couple of questions about it. 1. Which hotel is the best? 2. Which days are the best? (Friday to Saturday or Saturday to Sunday)
  6. So, most of the voice cast with the exception of Ashleigh Ball are extremely responsive to fans on Twitter and other social media websites. I've been lucky enough to get a favourite from Tabitha St. Germain and Peter New when I wished them a happy birthday (got a reply to a question from the former, too!!!). Anyway, on the subject of birthdays, I've noticed that a lot of fans often tweet the voice cast asking something like "It's my 22nd birthday today, could I get a happy birthday from Fluttershy/Celestia/Spike?" A lot of the time they reply and the fans are very grateful, even if they don't always say please :/ I was thinking of doing this but then I thought isn't it a little rude or attention-seeking (the voice cast honestly don't seem to mind - Andrea Libman and Nicole Oliver in particular are very nice about it but I dunno it feels wrong :/).

    Mega Thread BronyCon 2017

Bronycon 2017! Use this thread to discuss the Convention! This Includes things like Introducing yourself, organising Carpool, and rooming arrangments! and meetups! Poniverse at Bronycon 2017! Apple Dash, Feld0, Mercury and Pepper will be leading the expedition to BronyCon this year, which will likely be an informal promoting trip, as well as Enjoying the Convention. The team will be lugging some Poniverse T-Shirts and Stickers along, so if you're in the area you might be able to meet the gang! and pick up some goodies Yes, Dear Forum Goer, I did. The gang will be hauling a small selection of Poniverse T-Shirts and Stickers to the con, to hand out to Poniverse Staff, Friends and people we think could benefit from a little bit of Poniverse in their lives. Now, we don't have that much to hand out, but if you plan on attending the Con, please do fill out the form to see if we can get you a shirt. Due to Time Constraints and other things out of our control, Poniverse doesn't have an "Offical" presence at the con this year in terms of Booth's or Panels. But, Some Members of the Poniverse Gang will be participating in other Bronycon panels and events depending on how the final schedule works out. Even if you aren't attending the Con this year, I'm sure you'll be able to catch the VOD's uploaded after the event. This Space will be updated with Final Panel Arrangements If you're hitting any conventions during 2017/2018, we might be going informally (depending on the Convention's size and who else is going) or if we can get an official presence at the Convention! We plan to coordinate with our Partners and other Cons over the next 18 months, to see if we can have a presence to promote and share our platform with the community! If you plan on Attending Bronycon this year, we'd love to meet up! Even if you plan on attending the Conference informally as just a guest, please do fill the form out: Please Fill out the form as soon as possible!
  8. There are sub sections for Everfree Northwest, BronyCAN, BABScon and many other MLP conventions over in the conventions forum section, but there is not one for the biggest MLP gathering: Bronycon. Is all Bronycon discussion expected to go down in Sugarcube corner, including talk of ride and room shares, meet ups and special events? Is there any reason why MLPforums in general tends to shy away from associating with Bronycon?

    Con Advice

ITT: We give advice to those planning on attending conventions. I'll start: Don't get drunk before visiting the vendors hall. I did and blew $500 on pic related.
  11. So yeah pretty much what the topic says, who's going to Bronycon 2017.. cause I'm going and its going to be my first time and since I'm going alone I would love to meet new people and make some new friends.. it would be a nice thing to look forward to ...also I would love it if someone could keep me company while being there
  12. http://www.horse-news.net/2017/02/bronycon-no-longer-pony-con.html Really stupid, I don't see who would bother going to this event when there are several larger Pokémon centric events and if not that you'll have your needs met at most major gaming conventions. Also I doubt Pokémon content creators are going to bother going to a pony convention in the first place.
  13. Hello who thinks the brony fandom will be coming back in 2017 big for the premere of my little pony the movie that all bronies including me have been waiting years for thanks and also do you think season 7 will be good and will the eqg tv series be good

    "Elements of Harmony" panel

I have a probably stupid question to those of you who came to Bronycon 2016 and visited "The Elements of Harmony" event: The main VA's and some other people were reading some sort of script about Luna breaking her teeth because of Pinkie Pie's stone "ponies". Was that a script to one of the upcoming episodes or what? It's just that I came slightly late and don't know whatever was said at the very beginning. And it is the first time for me to be on such events.
  15. It's been about a week since the first full day of BronyCon and I still can't get over the positive experience I had there. It was not only my first MLP-related con, but my first convention of any sort period. I mean just walking in after the day of registration and seeing all of my fellow bronies there...it blew me away. Add in the fact that Baltimore is such a big and beautiful city...I had no words. Please keep in mind I come from a VERY rural area of West Virginia and outside of a few trips out of state with the family I haven't experienced cities bigger than Charleston, Huntington, or Beckley all that much. I began my journey on Thursday from Yeager Airport; this being the first time I ever flown. As a result of going with the cheapest route I had a layover in Charlotte and I was literally aghast at how big that airport was. If airports were monsters then poor Yeager would be prey to Douglas and BWI. XD That said all flights that day were smooth and I have plenty of photos of my first flight. Upon landing at BWI I was picked up by Sergei and his friend; and as we had a room-share setup we made our way to our hotel. This was actually my second time in Baltimore; the first being WAY back in 1997 on a field trip from Shepherd College. My second time reaffirmed just how big Baltimore is...and it's quite beautiful. It was also this day that I met those whom I have considered my closest friends for quite sometime. Just finally getting to meet Koukatsu, BatBrony, Stitch, Simon, Simeon, and others whom I am sure I am forgetting was amazing. The emotion I felt when we embraced...it was amazing. I wanted to cry, and I almost did. Scooby Doo!? Where are you!? On the convention itself...what can I say? There were so many people there...most of course being bronies and just being around those with whom you shared a special interest was immense. Thankfully it never felt overcrowded and everyone I met was friendly beyond belief. My main goal, aside from meeting my friends and fellow bronies, was to attend as many panels as I could and to visit & splurge at the marketplace; both of which I accomplished in spades. If I had to pick my favorite panels, it would definitely have to be the Mane 6 panel where the voice actresses of the Mane 6 were together for the first time at a con, Analyzing MLP Live which had Silver Quill, KP, Firebrand, and Dr. Wolf in one of the most hilarious panels ever, another panel with Silver Quill analyzing Putting Your Hoof down live, and plenty of others. The Comic Creators Panel Poor Firebrand...you would know if you were there; got burned so hard. XD And of course...I probably spent too much at the Marketplace, but I don't really mind, if I am too be honest. I wanted at least one plush and one shirt, and I left with quite a bit more than that. I won't share all what I got for fear of bragging, but I will show off a certain Great and Powerful One that made the return trip to West Virginia with me. She's mine, ALL MINE!!!! <3 Once all was said and done...yeah, I miss it still. BronyCon 2016 has a place firmly within my top-5 best experiences ever, and I plan on coming back next year. For as long there are pony conventions, this Pathfinder Deer will do what he can to come back, and hopefully reunite with friends once again.
  16. I think that it would be pretty difficult to walk away from BronyCon with a girlfriend, since its only three days. What do you all think?
  17. Good morning everypony! This blog post isn't very much show related, but every once in awhile I like to fill people in on real life stuff going on with me. Certainly got a big one for ya'll this morning. About a week and a half ago, I had the distinct pleasure of graduating from Western Michigan University's graduate school after two years of studying there with a Master's in Public History secured! Technically don't have the ACTUAL degree yet since no one gives real degrees at graduation ceremonies anymore, but should have it in hand soon enough hopefully. 'Twas a hard but rewarding experience and journey all the same, and having a supportive community like you guys to lean on at times made it considerably easier to get through. Thanks for all your friendliness and support everypony, I couldn't have done it without you! Second of all, I'm taking off for Baltimore this evening for not just my first ever BronyCon, but my first ever convention of any kind in general! There's going to be quite a few other Poniverse staff there, so feel free to look out for us or hit us up at the convention if you're there. I cannot wait and am sure this is going to be a blast and an unforgettable experience. Safe travels to anypony traveling, and God bless, ya'll! Look out Baltimore, here comes Batbrony!!!
  18. Hello my friends. I'm afraid that I have started quite late to prep a cosplay for bronycon due to deployment and lack of internet access, I have gotten to request a custom wig/tail of my OC from a great customs pony on etsy and hope that it has reached her and maybe accomplishable before the alotted time, however I am still lacking pegasus wings and can't seem to find one that can be done as i'd like it to be and arrive ontime for bronycon; even if its brought to bronycon it may still be too late so I might have to be an earthpony to my first con. I may be attending another con later this remaining year and would like to find someone who can also make a great set of wings:) only catch is to be the main color of black and the secondary color red.

    BronyCon 2016?

Thinking whether I should take a trip to Baltimore and go to BronyCon 2016, and I cannot decide. I've never been to such conventions. Can anypony tell me what such events have in store in a nutshell? Are there any worthy things about it aside from buying stuff? I am also not sure, because nopony knows if it shall happen in 2017...

Have you ever interacted with families at conventions?

Just a thought I had whilst encountering writer's block for some homework... For those of you who've gone to MLP conventions, have you ever met any families with little girls (or little boys) who also are fans of MLP? If so, what were the parent(s) reactions? Did they inquire about the brony fandom in general? Were they willing to let their children talk/interact with you? Share your stories!!

    Bronycon

Earlier today i was trying to figure out where and when bronycon was so i went to the website and it looked lively and up to date when i searched up the address on google maps it said closed PERMANENTLY! I got so confused. Anyone know where it is?
  22. I actually was pretty happy to see this, but looks like it is set to go live any day! Knowing Groupon there are probably limited tickets selling at this price. https://www.groupon.com/deals/mid-west-brony-fest
  23. Pony fans have a variety of reasons for why they continue to enjoy pony, with the songs among the most common, but barring conventions many find themselves at a loss for vocally sharing their love of the musical splendor of FiM and all the spin-offs it's inspired. Well, look no further darlings; if you're in the New England area, then the New England Bronytones would absolutely love to make your acquaintance. The New England Bronytones are a group of individuals dedicated to practicing and performing official songs from the show and the movies, with a focus on perfecting those songs with existing group harmonies while modifying those without into harmonic ensemble numbers. As of now, the group has only practiced one song ("Find the Music in You") comfortably enough to perform on a moment's notice, having clocked in around seven or eight solid Sunday practice sessions prior to a few "spontaneous" attempts at Bronycon 2015. Admittedly, our planning wasn't as on-point as it could have been, to include missing the (barely advertised) cut off point for the otherwise-ideal Open Mic event, but even so our efforts were not completely unappreciated and despite varying levels of talent and all-around low-levels of experience, we still view our proto-debut as something of a small success. Unfortunately, though the dream of improved harmony continues to be near to our hearts, a few of our members (including myself, quite sadly) may/will be moving away very shortly, leaving some newfound silence where once there was song. Un-unfortunately, that's where you come in! We found ourselves perhaps over-crowded for roles, with the notable exception of soprano, during "Find the Music in You," but future endeavors should prove much friendlier for larger ensembles, including the current focus song/mashup "Winter Wrap Up/True True Friend." One of our most dedicated members has been hard at work piecing together the sheet music for us to practice with (on this song and many, many more), and even if you can't necessarily read sheet music we have plenty of ways of soloing out your chosen part(s) so that you can tune your voice to it. With nearly an entire year before the next Bronycon, there is an ample amount of time to add and perfect a few more songs to the Bronytones repertoire, and perhaps even enough time to throw some simple-yet-swanky choreography into the mix as well! We have so generated so many interesting ideas in the few months we've been together, from individual song mashup/remixes to a giant seven-or-eight song continuous medley designed to dazzle...but the only way it'll all come together is with your help! The only things we ask from those interested in joining are the following: that you have (at a minimum) enough confidence to sing in front of fellow bronies, that you are committed to practicing and improving, and that you are not so completely tone-deaf that you cannot be trained to at least match a pitch within your range. We are hardly spectacular ourselves (yet), as we began our group in the same manner of welcoming all-comers, and therefore possess a varying range of ability (none of us can be considered even close to professional). That said, time spent paying attention to the notes, working on enunciation, improving vocal range, and learning the sound dynamics of the music has markedly improved the group's sound. If you absolutely adore the concept, but still don't think you can manage what we require for singers, we still encourage you to at least show up to see if you might bring something to the table in terms of arrangements, AV wizardry, costuming, and/or choreography. We're a pretty friendly group, which I suppose rates a "duh, bronies," but even so we try to go the extra mile to make newcomers feel like they can make a positive impact our efforts; plus we try to add some fun social elements to our break times so that it's not all just business. As far as when we get together, practices are currently every weekend on Sundays, with the next currently-scheduled-one on for August 30th, but this is naturally a difficult schedule for many and we are discussing shifting towards a more bi-weekly routine. As mentioned, though I'm the founder of this group and one of the most practiced/enthusiastic regarding singing, I'm also most definitely going to be leaving the area before September ends. In the spirit of keeping the music alive, I started the official Meetup page for the group and as you can see I intend on promoting it wherever there might be interest so as to bolster the ranks and get the name out there. Additionally, I have left some sound gear with the members, including a dual-amp/mixer combo, a 7-unit wireless mic set, a Bluetooth/optical/USB soundbar set, and a Scarlett music conversion tool for PC mixing...we haven't made extensive use of it so far, but with new members comes new ideas for how best to improve and showcase our sound, so I'm sure someone will find it all handy. ...this may have been a bit hasty on my part, as I do intend on starting a new chapter in this musical endeavor wherever I end up next, but perhaps the competition will end up needing the assistance to prevail over my next edition? A friendly challenge, as it were. Y'know, it actually came as something of a shock to me, when I finally got the ball rolling on this idea, that there didn't seem to be much in the way of dedicated MLP singing groups up in the Northeast; the only counterpart I've really seen so far are the SoCal Ponytones out on the West Coast. We would love to rival their numbers someday soon, as well as their number of fulfilled performances, but we can only do that with improved levels of membership, participation, and effort. So please, if any of this sounds awesome (how could it not?), hit up the Meetup group. You may end up being the practiced powerhouse who takes the group to the next level, or the excited newcomer with a chance to finally strut your singing stuff; whatever the case, the New England Bronytones are waiting with open arms. "You're gonna' fiiiiiiiiiind you've got the music, got the music, got the music in YOU!"

    Bronycon 2016

Hello to all you lovely pony folks! I'm fairly "new" to the fandom and I really want to go to Bronycon next year. Any tips and suggestions?

    Show off your convention merch!

Alright, I haven't seen another thread for this yet, so forgive me if a similar one already exists. Basically, the title explains it all. If you attended BronyCon or any other pony convention, feel free to show off the swag you bought there. I made this thread with BronyCon 2015 in mind, but I'm not limiting it to that because I feel that it can be used again in the future and for other cons. Also, I know some people were unable to attend this year but they may have attended in the past, so they can still post their merch from previous years if they want. Anyway, here's what I bought at BronyCon this year: (You can click to zoom in, though small details are blurry) Starting at the top left and working downward to the right: Posters from Enterplay (the company that makes trading cards and the MLP CCG) John de Lancie's autograph Nightmare Moon figure (from WeLoveFine.com) Comic books (some con exclusive, though I don't know which, and one limited edition signed) Andrea Libman's autograph BronyCon 2015 trading card Hilton Hotel room key cards MLP CCG cards Rainbow Dash glider (they were given out for free) More trading cards (one from BronyCon 2014) Art print by Skimlines (signed) Buttons/Pins (some Steven Universe ones because I Steven Universe!) Light wand (hand made by Sweet Apple Amperes) Lanyard with badge and pins (blue ribbon is from participating in a Mario Kart 8 tournament, which I won the first round but lost the second) CMC and Pinkie Pie tag thingies Pony Quest NES game (original fan-made game that actually works in a real NES) Mascot pony coloring page (I like to color (don't judge me! ) but unfortunately I didn't get to at the con, so I grabbed a page to bring home) Con book Brony Thank You Fund 2016 calendar (You donate $12, you get a calendar and a pin) Business cards (tried to grab as many as I could. Don't ask why) Official BronyCon 2015 poster (I also have a shirt, but it's currently in the wash) Splatoon poster (Splatoon is awesome and I love the artwork so I had to get it) K-On!/MLP crossover wall scroll (with a slight defect on Rarity's face ) I also wanted to get a plushie, preferably a handmade one, but unfortunately I ran out of funds. I'm happy with what I got though and I can't wait to see what other people got.
