  1. Now whit the brony fandom being like ":SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE: WE WOT AN ADOWABLE NEW WUTIE FILLY AND ME WANNA BELLYRUB HER FOREVER ". I figure we should start the fanclub at once, don't you think?
  2. We're not too far away from the movie's release and the only confirmed characters from the show are The Mane Six, Spike and Celestia. I thought they'd have announced more by now, and if not, that seems too little for my taste. What about Cadance, luna, Starlight, The CMC...there are so many important characters that are being left out. And if they are in, the fact that they are not being announced would seem to suggest they will not have a major role
  3. Hi, I was just wondering if anyone can lead to any Cadance merchandise. Cadance is one of my favorite characters on MLP but I've noticed other than tee shirts, there doesn't seem to be that much merchandise for the princess of love and that is a bit disappointing as I would love to have some Cadance merchandise in my life. Thanks.
  4. Title: The One Where Pinkie Pie Knows Air Date: October 17th, 2015 Synopsis: Pinkie Pie struggles to keep a secret that involves Princess Cadance and Shining Armor. Author: G.M. Berrow I'm super pumped for this episode. As Sweetie Belle describes Apple Blooms blank flank back in season 1: "It means she's full of potential" is how I feel about Cadance. We've only begun to scratch the surface of this classy lady. Add in a dash of husband, and a sprinkle of pink party pony with a secret, and this is looking like a recipe for disaster. So, what is this secret?!
  5. I mean think of it, we have yet to get an answer as to where this darkeness came from. Well here I give my theory on how it came to be and who may be responible for it. Comments are Welcomed #MLPFIM #MYLITTLEPONYFRIENDSHIPISMAGIC #GROGAR #HASBRO #DHXMEDIA #MLPTHEORY #THEORY #THEORIES
  6. I don't know about you, but I'd really like of one of the songs from the series played during my sending-off. It sounds morbid on the surface, but I'd like to think it would add a small glimmer of happiness to the attendees. Even those who hate the show with all their life can't deny some of the songs are really happy and upbeat and could cheer everypony up. I'm thinking Pinkie's Smile song as the final one on the list. Would feel so bittersweet - it would be my way of reminding everyone that even though I'm gone they have to pick themselves up and carry on. What song would everypony have played at theirs? (Sorry if this thread upsets anypony or it sounds too morbid.)
  7. There are certain times this season that would be great opportunities for Spike to appear in, but none of them are as important as Spike joining the Sparkle family vacation! Is he part of the Sparkle family, or what? This episode will tell us! I really wanna know who Spike considers family! Since he never met his family, and Twilight adopted him, what's stopping him from being close with Twilight's family? Big Jim did say that family is this season's theme, and throughout the season we had A Flurry of Emotions (Twilight and Flurry), Rock Solid Friendship (Pinkie and Maud), Forever Filly (Rarity and Sweetie), Parental Glidance (Rainbow, and to an extent Scootaloo), A Royal Problem (Celestia and Luna); Applejack, Big Mac, and Apple Bloom (Perfect Pear); and To Change a Changeling (Thorax), and we already met Fluttershy's family last season! We're gonna be seeing more of Twilight's family in episode 22 this season, and that should tell us whether Spike and the Sparkle family consider themselves as a family! This needs to happen! Hey, even if Uncommon Bond doesn't turn out to be a Spike episode after all, I can tolerate that as long as this happens!
  9. Well, looks like we finally got a title for the third entry of the princesses chapterbook series, but still no cover, nor synopsis
  10. After Celestia and Luna defeated Discord, peace flowed into Equestria. But at the edges of Equestria, chaos still reeked havoc, and ponies still hated and hurt one another. In a small village in the clouds, in the far edges of Equestria, a young pink pegasus pony, named Cadance, lived with her mother and father. Cadance father was a mustang of a broken spirit, and drank his pain away. Cadance mother was a mare of weak will and fears, and drank her fears and insecurities away. And just like every other night, Cadance hid in the closet as she watched her parents drink their lives away. One night while her parents were drinking, they began to fought, which isn’t unusual for them, but this time, it became violent. Her parents began to hit each other, her father began to choke her mother. Tears rushed down from Cadance eyes. She bolted from out of the closet, and looked at her parents. She began to wish, wish that she could fix their broken hurts, wish that she could remind them how much they loved each other, wish that she culd make them happy again. As she wished, something in her turned on, a mix of beautiful colored lights, seem to come from her heart, surrounded her, and rushed to her parents. Her father released his grip of her mother and her parents faced each other, smiled and began to cry. They rushed to there daughter and hugged her, and apologized. They all jumped, startled by a loud crash. Cadance turned her head and saw Princess Luna. “hello little alicorn.” Luna spoke in a gentle and soft voice. Alicorn? Cadance thought. “We need to talk” Luna said to pegasusi. Luna explained to them that Cadance held an extremely powerful magic within her, a magic too powerful for her pegasus form, a magic too powerful for a form other than an Alicorn. She offered to train the new alicorn and her parents accepted. The next week, Cadance left for Canterlot.
  11. So, I have been thinking. Which parent will McFlurry be closer personality-wise? Be advice that I don't mean she'll be exactly like either of her parents, but it's possible to say her own personality can be comparatively closet to either of them. I think her personality will be closer to her dad rather than her mom. Appearance-wise, she already look like Cadance (two-tone curly mane, a lighter but still pink fur), so I think she should have a personality closer to her dad . I don't mean she will be a disciplined military commander, but rather closer to the geeky of her father's younger days, plus a bit of an adventure strike, and taking care of stuff herself instead of the royal guards. Got this idea from Sapphire from the Disgaea series Sweet at a moment, but danger comes and she be like....
  12. We saw her fly head on at Sombra, to beat him to the Crystal Heart, and stnd with Shining Armor to synchro up a love spell to push back Queen Chrysalis. Sunbutt, on the other hoof, only took on Chrysalis when chips were down, (and lost). Every other villain- including her own sister- she just chose to throw Twilight at, for the sake of teaching lessons. Is Cadance more willing to put herself on the frontlines to defend her citizens? Does this make her a more honorable and respectable pony than Sunbutt, who puts her student and the entirety of Equestria at risk for a lesson plan?
  13. Tia, Woona, and Cadence in Onesie Pajamas.
  14. Well people, we got the release date of some already known books, plus new ones we haven't known about. I'm specially itching with The Journal of the Two Sisters: Human Edition
  15. Why, hello there gents! My name is Arylett, and I am not a vector artist. This is something I finished up recently (though I've had it sitting on my computer for quite some time and forgot about it over my busy months.) It's a wallpaper for my resolution specifically. Hence the whole "not a vector artist" part. You see, it doesn't resize 'cause it wasn't made with vectors. I actually hand-drew and painfully traced all the lines whilst obsessively straightening them out with my tablet! Because I am crazy. So here you go, enjoy. It's not my best work, and I know, I know, the eyes on the ponies are a bit wonky. But I am somewhat proud of it.
  16. (Excuse me if this is in the wrong forum) So, a while ago I listened to a song on youtube. It was the Friendship is Witchcraft song "It`ll be OK" but instead of Twilight and Shining armour it was about Shining and Cadance. I have been trying to find it for quite a while now but I`ve got no luck. Does anybody know what song I am talking about, can you post the link?
  17. I'm just wondering since Shining Armor and Cadance are married you'd think they would live in the Crystal Empire together. But I haven't really seen them rule it together or at least I haven't seen a throne or room of his own. And in Twilight's Kingdom it looks like he is still working and living in Canterlot. Considering he's married to Cadance I thought he would be guarding in the Crystal Empire instead.
  18. I wonder. So let's try to get to the bottom of this, together. To start off, though, we have to take a look at what we already know about alicorns; or rather, natural alicorns, meaning Celestia and Luna, the originals. According to the Journal of the Two Sisters, several important factors of alicorns/ Celestia and Luna are mentioned. 1: It's heavily implied that the royal sisters were born alicorns, and that other alicorns existed in their time. This is found pretty early on in the journal, where it states (Luna's journal entry): “Oh forget it. I was going to try to write in the ROYAL CANTERLOT VOICE, which Celestia and I learned when we were fillies. The Alicorns thought it was an important part of our education...” and “”see, when we ran and flew in the hills of Canterlot, we'd pretend we were princesses...” 2: Born alicorns don't require ascension to princesshood through a feat of exhibiting and understanding of magic. Neither Luna nor Celestia were given princess status for any grand accomplishment that turned them into an alicorn, like Twilight, but simply for already being an alicorn, who never ascended from a “lesser” race of pony. Referencing the Journal of the Two Sisters, it states “They knew that Alicorns stood for everything Equestria was founded upon: love, harmony, and friendship. And because Alicorns are a combination of Pegasi, Unicorn, and Earth ponies, they believed that we could represent the citizens of Equestria in an unbiased they asked us to be their princesses.” Now that we can get a sense of how Natural Born Alicorns work and ascent to royal status, what about 'lesser' ponies who can become Alicorns? How can earth, unicorn, and pegasus ponies become alicorns, and get title of princess? To start, I think it's best we simply assume that Earth ponies, unicorns, and pegasus share a similar ancestor race- that being – you guessed it, Alicorns. Alicorns, as stated previously, are a race all their own; and have perfect understanding and are representations of 'peace'. Friendship, love, and harmony. It's difficult to imagine any pony race existing before the alicorns, who likely made the world a very pleasant place to live, when they were more prevalent (something along the lines of Garden of Eden, I'd assume) But the “master race” that Alicorns were eventually likely branched off into 3 separate races that they represented- Pegasi, Unicorns, and Earth ponies- through the generations. And while those 'lesser' ponies weren't a combination of the 3 races, like the Alicorns, they all still carried their ancestral Alicorn genes. I feel this is a proper assumption that the MLP series itself hints at. Take for example, Mr and Mrs Cake- two Earth ponies, giving birth to a filly who's a unicorn, and a colt who's a pegasus. Easily explained with Alicorn ancestral genes in their DNA. Now, as for a unicorn, earth, or pegasi pony transforming into an alicorn- let me just state- CELESTIA/ LUNA ARE NOT the ones who transform other ponies into alicorns. Because there seems to be a common misconception that they do, when this is not actually the case. (carefully observing “Magical Mystery Cure” one can see that Celestia's horn never glows in Twi's transformation scene, but rather, it's a magical energy that comes out of Twilight, envelops, and transforms her) First, taking a look at Cadance. In the book “Twilight Sparkle and the Crystal Heart Spell”, it tells of Cadance's transformation to alicorn and the accomplishment that triggered it. “As a baby pegasus Cadance was found in the woods by earth Ponies, who took her into their village. When she grew up, she reversed a love-stealing spell cast by a pony named Prismia.” Prismia wore a magic-enhancing necklace that amplified her evil and jealousy, but when Cadance confronted her, the necklace amplified Cadance's love. Once Prismia changed her horrible ways, Cadance was surrounded by magical energy and transported to a strange place where she met Celestia, who adopted her as her royal niece. Since the Alicorns, according to the Journal of the Two sisters- represent Friendship, love, and harmony, I suspect that in order for a non-Alicorn pony to transform into one, they have to accomplish a task that proves that they understand and have mastered those three attributes. This was possible for Cadance, who already had the utmost understanding of Love, given it was her special talent and what her cutie mark represented. She had fought for and brought about harmony against Prismia, and understanding of Friendship was a given, seeing as how love is just a higher form of it. Once all three elements are realized and mastered in a pony, then it must react with or trigger the dormant Alicorn gene in a pony that does, and transforms them. This was also seen in Twilight, who also accomplished/ understood the magic of friendship (enough to discover that its its own unique kind of magic, even, and above simple Alicorn/ earth/ unicorn/ or pegasus magic), was a champion of harmony (along with her friends), and also mastered/ understood love (in the form of loving her friends). At least, that's my understanding of it. But what does everyone else think about how non-alicorn ponies become alicorns?
  19. OK, welcome back everypony to another addition of "Batbrony Reviews." So after last week's bit of amazing that was the 100th episode, unsurprisingly I don't have quite as much to say about this new episode as I did last week. That's not to say I didn't enjoy, there were quite a few elements that I liked about it, it just didn't come anywhere close to the levels of awesome that "Slice of Life" did. Without further ado, let's take a look at "Princess Spike." So first of all, let's talk about Spike himself, starting by getting something off my chest. As with most Spike episodes since I wanna say Season 3, we yet again have a lot of bronies complaining about so-called "Spike abuse," the notion that Spike is a special sort of punching bag for the writers in any episode that he stars in. Let me just come out and say that while I understand some bits of this notion, overall I think it's overblown. The writers have shown plenty of times in the past and this season that Spike can be and is written well plenty of times. If he ever does come across as an idiot in starring roles, let's keep two things in mind: (1) he's still a baby dragon, and we have no idea how quickly or slowly dragons normally age, much less one being raised among ponies like Spike, and (2) the main characters of episodes are almost always at the root of the problems caused in those episodes! I don't ever hear anybody complain about Applejack being written like an idiot in "Applebuck Season," people just accept that that's an extension of her stubborn personality getting the best of her, and that's fair because it's true. But for some reason some people seem to want Spike to be Mary Sued anytime he's in a starring role, and I don't get it. I think it goes back to "Spike At Your Service" and how mad people were and remain that Spike was so incompetent at basic tasks (a point that I get, "Spike At Your Service" is a pretty problematic episode), but the fair points that people raise about that episode have warped into this twisted notion that Spike is always going to get this treatment now. That's just not true, and certainly not here. Spike got in over his head quite reasonably so because he prioritized one task ahead of the others (a task involving his mother/sister figure Twilight, the closest pony in his life, mind you), got a little power-crazy as well because he was feeling inadequate alongside four pony princesses (understandable given that he's still very much an outsider for most of pony society), and didn't think through the long term consequences of some of the things that he did (understandable given that he's both an adolescent and not used to organizing or running an event as large as a nationwide gathering of ponies in one of Equestria's largest cities). Yeah, he bucked up, he bucked up hard, but the fact that he bucked up should hardly be surprising, and not because Spike's stupid or unfairly written as being stupid, but because that makes sense for his character in this particular situation. So there, that's that. As far as I'm concerned, Spike is not written nearly as badly as some of the fandom remains convinced that he is, and I thought he was fine here, aside from how maddening some of his decisions got, but I would've had the same reaction to those if any of the Mane 6 were doing what he did as well. What fell, new sorcery is this? Now that that's out of the way, let's talk about what else I liked. Twilight was super adorable (Sleepy Twilight is officially most adorable Twilight for me now ), and Cadance had a surprisingly very good showing here. Definitely her best appearance in a slice of life episode, even more so than "Three's a Crowd" just because she didn't really do much in that one besides tag along with Twilight. But here, we got to see some of her own brand of wisdom and how Cadance works as a princess, I liked that. Seeing Luna and Celestia two weeks in a row was super surprising as well (not to mention hearing from Luna too), though I would've liked to see just a bit more of them besides the opening scene, mostly because their absence raised many questions, namely, where the buck did they get off to after the opening scene? Ah well, probably were playing video games or something. I've got my eye on you, Mime Pony. #don'ttrustmimes But my favorite aspect by far of this episode was its setting and supporting cast. I love slice of life episodes that take place in Canterlot and give us the chance to see more of that city, it's definitely one of my favorite settings in the show to this day. Not to mention we got to see a lot of very cool ponies from all over Equestria. Fancy Pants, a pony with a chainsaw that may have been Canadian but I prefer to think of him as a Wisconsin cheesehead (since I love Wisconsin ), the Manehattan delegate that was very much the New Yorker, the Winnyapolis (or Winneapolis) delegate who was the most obvious Minnesota/Fargo reference ever (and stop saying she was Canadian, people who are saying that, she wasn't ), that adorable nerdy pony that Spike met with, the return of Fluffy Clouds, polo-playing ponies, a mime-pony, what I can only describe as Richard Simmons-pony, an awesome griffin with the cat portion of its body being a tiger's (SERIOUSLY, THAT IS SO COOL!!!!!!!! ), plenty of Canterlot ponies, and many, many more. Sure not a lot happened in this episode, and the lesson Spike was gonna learn was fairly obvious from the start, but it was a pure Equestria episode that was completely comfortable in its setting even though it was introducing a very much new event to both the show and the audience. I love any slice of life episode like that, so yeah, for what it was, this episode was solid in my book. Nothing more, nothing less, just as good as it needed to be. See ya'll next week everypony! Yah, sure ya bet'cha, us Midwestern ponies are pretty friendly around these parts, don'cha know?
  20. Ask me anything you like! I'm curious what your questions are, so please don't feel shy to ask me about anything .. I'll try to answer them to the best of my ability
  21. I've been thinking, if Celestia died or became unfit to lead, which of the remaining alicorn princesses would replace her? I investigate this question in the following analysis video. Enjoy! Comments are always welcome
  22. What do you think will happen if all the princesses died except twilight. For all I know, it would be extremely serious.
  23. Twilight Returns With a Vengeance "I know that things have changed. I have new responsibilities. I have more challenges to deal with." Twilight Sparkle stated in her first post-game interview. "But I really wanted to win this game." "Yep," an exhausted-looking Spike groaned beside her. "She really did." Twilight demonstrated a rule of physics: what goes down, may also come up again. Twilight's journey through the Most Attractive Pony Tournament was much harder than last season's. Tough competition in the EFC sent her reeling into an unfamiliar wildcard spot. Yet the most powerful unicorn in Ponyville was as determined as ever to succeed--and that she did. In a rematch with defending Magic Bowl I champion Lyra Heartstrings, she cast off a burden that had weighed on her for two whole years. Twilight jumped out to a strong early lead, and at first the game showed every sign of being a blowout. But with Lyra, there is always a twist in the plot. The minty musician galloped back into contention in the last few days of the contest, slashing a lead of dozens of votes to only 16. Another miracle seemed possible for Equestria's ultimate underpony, but the clock ran out, and Equestria's newest alicorn princess emerged with another jewel in her crown. Last year's champion was gracious in defeat. "Are you kidding?" Lyra said gleefully when asked if she was disappointed about the loss. "I'm kinda relieved! It takes off all the pressure of being 'undefeated.' I mean, I didn't want to go 'one-and-done'...that's what it's called in the human world, right? But I really am happy for Twi! I mean, um, Her Majesty." The result sends the princess into a duel with Rainbow Dash. This time, Twilight won't need her hot air balloon for the trip to Cloudsdale. TWILIGHT, 91-75 The More Things Change... It may be a new year, a new beginning, and a new tournament. But in Octavia and Pinkie Pie's wildcard rematch, the only thing that changed was the cellist's margin of victory. Pinkie is left to puzzle over another mysterious development. Along with Lyra Heartstrings, Octavia remains one of the most popular background ponies in the tournament, and here she was also the most successful. Her elegant beauty was one thing Pinkie couldn't pull out of her hammerspace, and this time it garnered even more votes than before. The party pony stayed competitive, though it was never really close. Octavia was quite composed (no pun intended) after the game, polishing her cello in the locker room. "I am grateful to Miss Pie for once again proving herself a worthy opponent. I was only a few sour notes away from going to the Magic Bowl in 2013; this year, I intend to score a masterpiece." Octavia improved on her last match with Pinkie, which she won 86-62. "Of course I'm not upset, you silly fillies! A BUNCH of people like Octavia. Just like a bunch of people like pie more than cake. I'm a super good sport--see?!" The prankster of Ponyville suddenly produced hoofsful of sticks, paddles, and balls from every sport imaginable, then just as suddenly flung them aside. "I think I'll have Octy over for a REALLY SPECIAL batch of cupcakes." She furrowed her brow at the uncomfortable silence of the reporters. "...What??" OCTAVIA, 100-66 All You Need is Love? Cadence's good vibes allowed her to escape with a win. Twilight was not the only alicorn who made good. Princesses Celestia, Luna, and Cadence all joined the tournament in 2015, and all three of them qualified for the playoffs. Twilight's former babysitter faced a stiff challenge in The Great and Powerful Trixie, the lovely wandering magician who was determined to improve on her first-round exit in the last tournament. Alas, determination does not equal victory. In the closest game of the week, the two ponies dueled on a razor's edge until Cadence pulled ahead and held on for an 8-vote squeaker. She left Hoofington Theater and a stunned Trixie to a herd of reporters. "I'm very happy that the bronies were able to feel and celebrate my love for them," said the princess. "My husband Shining Armor was not able to attend, but I know he is very happy for me back in the Crystal Empire." The wheels came off Trixie's wagon once again. Trixie also had something to say, but her post-game remarks lacked the usual brashness, even hubris, that fans have come to expect. "Trixie does not understand," she said quietly, looking up at the score that was so close, yet so far. "The Great and Powerful Trixie tried as hard as she could. Doesn't her?" CADENCE, 87-79 The Sun Also Sets While all of the wildcard matchups were guaranteed entertainment, this one may well have been the most intriguing of all: the ruler of all Equestria vs. a temperamental but very cute young pony from a mysterious alternate universe. Neither pony would comment on their apparently dark history together, but the intensity of their clash said it all. Rumored to have an excellent singing voice, Sunset did very little performing in her first match. She succeeded simply by being herself, though not all bronies might agree on who her true self is. The red and yellow pony jumped out to a remarkable lead and rode it to the end of the game, defeating Princess Celestia herself. Sunset's future is so bright, she would have to wear shades...if she hadn't defeated a sun goddess, that is. "Oh, it was really no big deal," Sunset said nonchalantly. "I'm lying, of course. It was a huge deal to get my revenge on Celestia at last!! But not as huge as when I reach the Magic Bowl and face her new teacher's pet, that goody four-hooves Twilight Sparkle. That's the game I'm looking forward to..." Her Majesty's blank expression says it all. "I am happy to return to my usual duties as Princess of the Sun," Celestia stated before leaving Canterlot High School. "I wish my opponent all the best in the future." But no matter how graceful her exit, it is unlikely that Her Highness expected to be done so early. As many voters have learned, anything can happen in the Most Attractive Pony Tournament. Sunset advances to face Rarity in a stacked Divisional round. SUNSET, 97-69 See a recap of the Divisional Round here! Vote in the Tournament here! ...And revisit the 2013 Tournament here.
  24. They have already proved that they are caring, dependable big sisters, but who do you think is the best at being a big sister? (Cadance as Twi's sister, Dashie as Scoot's sister) And who would you like to be your big sister in real life? My answer the best big sister is A.J. She provided clubhouse for CMC. She's able to have fun with apple bloom at work so they probably spend more time together than other sisters. But in real life I kinda prefer a big sister like Maud... On a side note: Am I the only one think Luna should be the older sister?
  25. A Changeling/Cadance drawing, made because it had to be done. Enjoy. Wow. It looked a lot better when I first finished.
