  1. Note #1: This is one of the episodes leaked a few weeks ago. If you watched the episode already, keep all discussion under the spoiler tag until after it finishes officially airing. (Hit the eye icon to trigger it and type within it.) DO NOT LINK OR POST THE LEAKED MATERIAL! Note #2: Over the last few months, some content originally leaked (e.g., the Student Six's names, episode titles, some summaries) have been officially revealed, and chances are more will, too. But as always, please keep all leaked content not officially revealed yet — and/or if you're unsure if you're revealing too much — under the "spoiler" tag. Title: The Parent Map Air Date (U.S./Disc. Family): May 5 at 11:30am Writer(s): Dave Rapp Summary: Neither Starlight nor Sunburst have visited their parents in a long time, but when both are called by the map to their hometown, they discover their parents are at the center of the friendship problem. Episode to be linked after it airs. CMC Clubhouse on! SendVid:
  2. My guess as to how the Mane 6 found out the friendship mission was a fake was that the map contacted them through their cutie marks in Morse Code. Twilight of all ponies would most likely be able to translate it.
  3. Would the map just continue to say there's a friendship problem there or would it stay there for a moment then move? Maybe it would just never say a friendship problem ever again? I'm not sure, what's your thoughts?
  4. Remember when the map called for only the Mane Six? It was because they're connected to the Elements of Harmony. However, the Mane Six haven't been using the elements for three seasons, and maybe the elements want to come back but with different holders! The elements used to be connected to Celestia and Luna, but ever since Nightmare Moon's banishment, they haven't been used ever since, and the Mane Six became the new bearers of them. What made me think this is that first Starlight got called by the map, and then Spike recently! If some of us are correct, and Trixie gets summoned by the map in To Change a Changeling, it would really start making suspicions! I saw somebody say Starlight and Spike only got summoned by the map because they're close to Twilight; but if Trixie gets summoned, that theory would pretty much end! So basically, I'm starting to think that the Elements of Harmony might come back sometime in the future, but with new holders: Starlight, Spike, and Trixie for the first three! Who would be the other three? It could be the CMCs, or it could be Maud, Ember, and Thorax! Any way could go, but it depends on who gets summoned by the map in the future! I'm pretty sure people would rather have the CMCs, and would wanna see them as heroes of Equestria, and they are more main characters than Maud, Ember, and Thorax! But Maud, Ember, and Thorax are good friends with either Starlight, Spike, and Trixie; so either way goes! But the main question is: who's gonna get summoned by the map next that is not a Mane Six?
  5. As you may have already read from my posts before. One of the main things I want to see is Big Macintosh get to have a big hero moment in at least one episode. It was one of his desires back in "Brotherhooves Social". And if non Mane 6 ponies such as Starlight Glimmer and Trixie along with Thorax and Discord could be heroes, why not give Big Mac a moment in the sun? Granted, he has been getting more development since the episode, and that's good. But the hero moment has yet to come. One opportunity to do that would be the through the Cutie Map. There have been other threads discussing other characters getting summoned by the cutie map. This past season, it summoned Starlight Glimmer in an episode, and Spike in another. So I guess this would be a perfect opportunity for the Big red stallion to do something awesome. There were some noodle incidents mentioned by Applejack when she was under Starlight's spell back in season 6, mentioning some great adventures that Big Mac was on at certain points. Maybe the Cutie Map could summon him back to those places and save the day. What do you think?
  6. This is something that's been playing in my head since a Royal Problem aired in Canada. But what would happen if one of the Mane 6 wound up having a Friendship Problem that requires the Cutie Map, as well as another pony willing to solve the problem? One example I had was involving Twilight. What if she had her own Friendship Problem(Mainly her stress) that requires another pony(Ex: Starlight Glimmer) to help her out on?
  7. I know a few places that the Cutie Map didn't send anypony to yet. Appleloosa (Applejack/Rainbow or Twilight) - Braeburn and Little Strongheart can be the guests here. Pinkie is not a candidate here because she's already went there twice, last time in "Buckball Season". Then again, Rainbow has gone there twice as well... Fillydelphia (Rarity/Twilight or Rainbow) - Nopony has ever gone to this place before, even though it was mentioned lots of times. Breezie Village (Pinkie/Fluttershy) - Remember, that episode "It Ain't Easy Being Breezies" featuring the Breezies was a Fluttershy episode. Any better ideas?
  8. Back when the Brony fandom was young and we were all gushing over how surprisingly good Season 1 was, many of us (mostly fanfic writers and speculators and such) conceived of the idea that Celestia and Luna were like the Egyptian, Roman, Greek, and Norse gods. This made sense, as they were bigger than all the other ponies, the only winged unicorns in the show, and could raise and lower the sun and moon. It was a logical conclusion to make, as many myths and legends feature sun and/or moon gods. Going further, many would assume that Celestia and Luna, or perhaps their parents, were the creators of the world/universe/planet Equestria is located on/in. At some point, the fan theory that Lauren Faust, or rather, Lauren Faust’ Alicorn OC “Fausticorn,” was Celestia and Luna’s mother and the creator of the world was made. However, as time went on, more seasons came out, more alicorns were introduced, lore regarding the founding of Equestria and the movement of the sun and moon by unicorns was revealed, and Celestia and Luna (and even Discord as of the Season 6 Finale) were revealed to be quite weak, the theory of Celestia and Luna being divine beings is pretty much debunked. Many Bronies still stick with the Fausticorn theory, but I think it would be better to find something a lot more cannon to look to. If were to make a bet on who or what is the true creator and Divine Being of the world of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, the only choice there is, of course, the Tree of Harmony. Why? Well, here’s my reasoning: If The Tree of Harmony is the Divine Being, it would have to have existed since the beginning of time. In Princess Twilight Sparkle, we see that the Tree existed during Discord’s first reign. You might think this breaks the theory, seeing as the Fires of Friendship of Hearthswarming Eve predate this. First of all, the Fires are a one trick pony. All they do is kill Wendigoes and keep you warm. Powerful magic, sure, but not divine. Second, in the past vision where Celestia and Luna take the Elements out of the Tree, you will find that the tree is the exact same size as it is 1000 years later in the present. This means that the Tree was already mature 1000 years ago, and also ages very slowly. Plus, from seed to sapling to fully mature, trees take a looooooong time to grow. Not only that, the Tree of Harmony is huge. If a Redwood tree can live for 2000 years, I’m sure a magical crystal tree can live many times longer. I punch the numbers into my calculator and I get “In the Beginning was the Seed.” Next, the Tree needs to be omnipotent. To find that out, let’s check out all the time aspects of the Tree had to show their strength. First, the Elements of Harmony. Now, let’s get something clear: if the Elements were not used correctly and the results were either lacking or non-existent, it is not the Tree’s fault. A good comparison would be Samson in Judaism/Christianity. Samson’s superhuman strength came from God, but God told Samson not to let his hair be cut (among other things). So, when Delilah cut Samson’s hair, Samson was defeated. God was still omnipotent, Samson just forfeited his rights to that power. So, first the Elements defeated Discord. Then Celestia used them all by herself against Nightmare Moon, so she was imprisoned instead of purified. Nightmare Moon was unable to destroy the Elements, and the Mane Six used them properly and purified her. Celestia and Luna lost their connection to the Elements, so the Tree removed its power from Discord’s stone prison. The Mane Six tried using the Elements while they were corrupted, and without Rainbow Dash, so the Tree denied them its power. They used them properly the second time and defeated Discord. Then we have the Plunderseed Vines in Princess Twilight Sparkle. I’m going to skip over this and save it for later. Don’t worry, it’ll all make sense a little later. Then we have the Rainbow Power, which was able to defeat Lord Tirek instantly. Tirek had ALL THE MAGIC IN EQUESTRIA. This means that the Rainbow Power is stronger than ALL THE MAGIC IN EQUESTRIA. Then there’s the Cutie Map, which was able to survive SEVERAL COMPLETE REWRITES AND HARD RESETS OF THE TIME-SPACE CONTINUIM in The Cutie Re-Mark. I’m pretty sure this proves the Tree’s omnipotence. As for omniscience, the Cutie Map is a clear example of this. The Cutie Map knows exactly what problem will happen, when it will happen, where it will happen, how it will happen, and who will be the best ponies suited for the job of solving it. Yes, I know that this is a TV show with writers, but within the actual world this show takes place in, this Cutie Map, and therefore the Tree of Harmony, is clearly omniscient. I’m not sure if omnipresence is important here. If anything, the fact that the Tree is aware of everything that happens in the world through the Cutie Map is a kind of omnipresence. The way that the Map existed in alternate timelines can be considered omnipresence too. Now, I know you’re all thinking about the part I skipped earlier. You all think that those Plunderseed Vines disprove my theory, because those thorny vines nearly killed the Tree. Fluttershy herself said the Tree was dying, after all. Sure, the Tree was brought back to life through the sacrifice of the Elements, and the Tree gave the Mane Six a gift through its resurrection, but still, it was almost killed. Well, to avoid getting into trouble or triggering anyone, I’ll be both brief and vague here. My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is a Canadian/American show. Christianity is the majority religion in these two nations. Now, tell me, who is the main figure of this religion and what is He well known for doing? I’d rather not get banned or anything, so I’m being intentionally ambiguous here, but I’m pretty sure you all know what I’m trying to say. Love and tolerate, please! So, what do you think? Is the Tree of Harmony the Divine Being of the world in which Equestria takes place? Is my reasoning sound, or did I make a mistake or overlook something? Please, leave your own comments and opinion, because I’m sure that this can be a great source of ideas and speculation for all Bronies. Also, here is a Fanfic written by someone who is also convinced that the Tree of Harmony is the Divine Being:
  9. This is just something I thought of since watching Top Bolt. What if they had a scenario where the Mane 6(And heck, even Starlight Glimmer) teamed up with another pony? Especially ponies(Or even a Draconequus) who live in Ponyville. Example Team ups include a) Fluttershy and Big Macintosh Applejack and Trixie c) Rarity and Spitfire d) Pinkie Pie and the Cutie Mark Crusaders e) Twilight Sparkle and Princess Luna f) Rainbow Dash and Discord g) Starlight Glimmer and Princess Celestia Your thoughts on Friendship Missions involving a Member of the Mane 6(7 if you count Starlight) and another individual just to spice things up? And if so, who would you like to see ponies team up with?
  10. So I was just thinking about the season 5 Episode 1&2 again. Being how the show is- I figured all would be well and good at the end as usual. I figured those episodes would just be the mane 6 resolving the issue by teaching the "cult" that it's good to be different and have special talents, yadda yadda...THE END!! I thought Starlight was just as loopy as the rest and believed in her own BS just as much at first. (I don't know how I didn't notice her increased color saturation.) I wouldn't have expected such a deceptive and manipulative character to EVER be in this show- OR BRAINWASHING for that matter! Individuals like Starlight are what scare me the most in the real world. For example, some of the worst criminals can sometimes appear to be some of the nicest people. We still don't know what her true motives/ultimate goal was either. To top it off she's still out there- just silently waiting... watching...menacingly! (for all we know she's in the mailbox!) Whenever I see people say stuff like she's not scary, or the episode was boring I'm all like... </rant> Anyways, are there any episodes went WAY differently (plotwise) or ended differently than you were expecting?
  11. I think the Cutie Map is one of the possible reasons why we're getting more episodes where only two or three characters appear in them. Ever since Season 5 premiered, they only allowed two members of the Mane Six to go someplace to repair friendship. The way I see it, the Cutie Map seems to go in a pattern. For Season 5, we had Twilight and Fluttershy, Pinkie and Rainbow Dash, and Applejack and Rarity. For Season 6, we had Pinkie and Rarity, and this Saturday, Applejack and Fluttershy, and later, Twilight and Rainbow Dash. For Season 7, we should have Twilight and Applejack (there hasn't been an episode with just them and nopony else in the Mane Six), Pinkie and Fluttershy, and Rainbow Dash and Rarity (both of these pairings only had one episode each).
  12. Although the Cutie Map hasn't been too intrusive so far, what it if started calling them more often? What if it started summoning them for every little thing across the land? Are they merely obligated to answer, or are they magically bound to it, slaves to the map? What if they chose not to answer? Twilight was appointed as princess, but the others did not ask for this burden. They had it thrust upon them. They did not choose to be connected to the elements or the map. What if one or more of them wanted a safe and simple life, and did not want to adventure across Equestria to solve the world's crises? You cannot force someone to be a superhero. What happens when they get too old for this sh*t? What happens if when the map's summons conflict with other obligations? Are they involuntarily locked to this magical bat signal for all time? Doesn't seem right to me. (This is just a thought that popped into my head earlier today. I don't really have a problem with the map. I'm just overanalyzing because it's fun.) Ooh, ooh, ooh, new crossover forming in my head! The six are summoned by the map to trek across the world. They journey for months, maybe years. They're hungry and exhausted. Twilight says, "I wish the Cutie Map had never come to us. I wish none of this had happened." Then we see a superimposed visage of Celestia, a memory, as she says, "So do all who live to see such times, but that is not for them to decide. All you have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to you." Sorry, I do that. Okay, back to the question. What do you think? *EDIT* My new headcanon is that the Elements of Harmony, the tree, and the map, are all part of a magical Daemon created by Starswirl the Bearded, which has been running since his death. *RE-EDIT* Y'know, the more I see it and the more I think about it, the more I don't like the idea of the map. Do they have any control over it? Could Twilight turn it off if she wanted? You know, hide map notifications? If not, it just seems wrong to me. It seems like it has taken their freedom away. Also, I'd like to point out how crazy the existence of the map and castle is to begin with. How could something so complex be naturally occurring? The tree and the elements are one thing, but the map and the castle obviously had to have a designer. Now, this sounds like the aboriginal watch analogy, and the argument for creation, but this is totally different. It's obvious that humans adapted to the earth, not the other way around. Earth was not made with us in mind. But the castle was perfectly made for Twilight and her friends. Bedrooms, kitchen, six thrones, a library. It's completely different than arguing for a designer of the universe. The ponies did not adapt to the castle. The castle and the map must have had a designer. How could a naturally occurring tree make this castle and this map that sends them on missions, knowing exactly which of them is right for the job? The more I've thought about it, the more I can't reconcile the map or the castle without the Daemon theory. In the sister's journal, we learn that Starswirl discovered the tree and the elements, so those are naturally occurring. I say he constructed the rest. The first Daemon event was when the elements changed shape to that of the mane 6's cutie marks. The second Daemon event was the formation of the chest. The third Daemon event occurred when the chest was opened, and it was this event that permanently unleashed the Daemon. It's self-sustaining now, and cannot be stopped. Its task is to create a new world order. This was Starswirl's vision. It may ultimately be for the best, but he needed to use six ponies against their will to achieve his goal.
  13. Basically, the story is about Bon Bon going back into her work in the agency she worked in some time ago. Instead of hunting monsters though, they assume a more "passive" vigilante role, in the same style as Person of Interest of Minority Report. They're using reverse-engineered cutie maps scattered across Equestria to analyze situations and see possibility of someone commiting a crime. The working title should be New Harmony, but I'm kind of afraid some people just skip over it and consider it yet another alternate elements fic. For now, I'm just wondering what you guys thought of the idea, and if you would read this fic.
  14. For me, it's: Rainbow Dash & Applejack. Easy-peasy, you might say, but the key to their success is to stop bickering, for Rainbow Dash in particular to overcome her ego, and to work together instead of competing. However, it shouldn't be too easy for Applejack either. I would make it so that Rainbow Dash tries to do it on her own because she's that awesome, and that Applejack tries the same because she don't need no help from nopony, especially not from that feathery loudmouth to whom she'd have to admit her weakness and need for help. At the end, they'll have to help each other. Rainbow Dash & Fluttershy. Destination: Las Pegasus or a similar town in the sky. Must be so hard on Fluttershy that Rainbow Dash will have to learn how to build her up without hurting her feelings by trying to grind her to a badass like herself, and Fluttershy will have to learn another lesson about courage and assertiveness. She does have diplomatic skills, I'd say she'll have to learn to make use of them in front of a crowd or something, and convincingly so. Twilight Sparkle & Rarity. Sounds easy again, throwing the two unicorns into the same situation, but give them something they both can't cope with at first, something that neither beauty and style nor piling magic upon magic will fix, and see what'll happen. This will have to take place somewhere rural to make them both fish out of water. Or send them to a city, maybe even Canterlot where they're both known already, so they'll feel too safe at first, what with being in a surrounding they're used to. Now we have Rainbow Dash blocked for both seasons, Pinkie Pie not at all, the rest for one season each. Pinkie and Applejack already get at least one "family" episode per season, so it'd take a lot of convincing to make that one work. And Fluttershy and Rarity seems too obvious, too, and it'll require a well-chosen setting to be interesting, something that's easy for neither of them. So, alternative pairings: Pinkie Pie & Fluttershy. Hoo boy. The most extroverted pony of all and the most introverted one. Also known as The Andrea Libman Show (which will have to be in the same season as The Ashleigh Ball Show starring Rainbow Dash and Applejack). Whatever the story, Pinkie will have to learn to tone her loudness and obnoxiousness down while at the same time teaching Fluttershy to be more outgoing when she has to. This setting simply begs for a Fluttershy solo song. Now I need the remaining two pairings. We already had Applejack & Rarity, and Applejack & Pinkie Pie is running in the family anyway. So one would have to be Rarity & Pinkie Pie. One's a party machine, one's too stuck up. Needs to be something where they meet in the middle. I'd like to send Rarity to a city again, just to find out that being in a city doesn't always make for an advantage for her. And it has to be made clear that a wild party out of thin air won't save anything. This leaves us with Twilight Sparkle & Applejack. That'd be earth pony traditionalism vs. unicorn magic for everything. This could be enhanced by the fact that a farmer pony has to work together with an alicorn princess. I'd suggest an urban setting again, but not Manehattan. Applejack is the usual fish out of water, and Twilight Sparkle isn't recognised as the princess that she is. She will think that, being the Princess of Friendship, it'll be easy to get things done, but she won't get anywhere without Applejack who in turn will have to learn a thing or two about diplomacy. Come to think of it, this would be a great episode for the map to want Starlight Glimmer to tag along. Starlight will still have a lot to learn about friendship, but what she can already provide is experience in dealing with other ponies. As I already said, Applejack has a diplomacy deficit, and Twilight Sparkle is still somewhat socially awkward, but Starlight Glimmer has once ruled over a village and not been brainwashed or so ever since. At the same time, Applejack will have to keep two powerful unicorns from running the place over with magic. Something else I'd like to see, regardless of already planned pairings, is Rarity and Rainbow Dash. Generosity meets the über-ego. However, Rarity would have to learn about not being too superficial. Then again, this one would work very well in a city like Baltimare or Fillydelphia because both should feel safe in a busy city environment at first. Better yet: They both crave for limelight. That's something the episode could play with. However, I can see two problems: One is to make this different enough from "Sonic Rainboom". The other one is that it'd be an episode about two hot-headed ponies, both of whom tend to overreact.
  15. As you may have noticed, we haven't gotten a lot of Cutie map episodes in season 5. Do you think we are going to get more episodes like this in season 6?
