1. Hi there, I'm a British filmmaker who is making a documentary about MLP culture. I don't know much about it yet, so please excuse me if I seem ignorant. I want a lot of my exploration to feature in the documentary. I hope to go to MLP conventions, such as the one in Leeds in October. I'd love it if I could have someone involved in the culture to lead me through the MLP world. If you're in the UK and you're interested in being in a documentary where you can show the world why you think MLP is so great, please respond below or send me a private message. The film will probably begin being shot in October and will likely finish in September.
2. Hey All! My name is Peter York and I have been a filmmaker since I was a little kid. I always loved filming lifestyles and subcultures and have finally made some really important decisions in my life to do what I love. I quit my 9-5 job to start being a documentary filmmaker and create a series of hour long documentaries on subcultures. My angle is to objectively show what these subcultures are, who is apart of them, how they started and to try and pinpoint their popularity. I am really excited about starting this and I figured this would be a great place for me to ask a few questions and see what you all think! First, I would like to let you all know that my first subculture will be Bronies/Pegasisters. I have friends who are obsessed with MLP Friendship is magic and they swear by the show more than anything. I am interested in digging deeper into what it is that makes you guys who you are! some questions I have for all of you, 1. What Brony documentaries do you like and why? 2.Which Brony Documentaries do you not like and what aspects of them turned you off? 3.What events should I be going too in order to get into the middle of the action? 4.Who should I be talking to in your community that could give me more insight? I just have these few questions for now, if you could take a moment and help me out that would really be awesome. Again, I am so excited to get started on this and I want to do it right and have the support of all of you behind me with this film. I want to make something we can all be proud of and have alot of fun making! If anyone is interested in being interviewed or if you are available for a phone call or skype please let me know! Thank you so much! Peter
3. I was just on youtube browsing videos while waiting for my hard drive to transfer some files and came across this documentary: A Common Person's Guide To Bronies: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P4ylcMJOPBY Has anyone else watched it? Am I alone in feeling a little bit hurt by this? It seems like there is an overwhelming bias that paints bronies as being sexually deviant, socially awkward/inept, and bad in general. It really flies in the face of everything I know about the show and the fanbase. I genuinely felt attacked by this and it scares me to think that THIS is what people think of when they hear the word "Brony". I would really love some feedback on this, because it really upset me. :'(
4. I just watched this documentary for class today, about a guy who goes a month depending on Craigslist for all his needs—food, shelter, company, everything. His purpose was to find out whether or not we've really lost a sense of community with the rise of technology and social media and such. I found it really inspiring. What do y'all think of the idea? Any of you seen the movie? It's available to stream on Netflix, if anyone's interested.
5. Hello! I need to get into contact with: theacleps! I need for him to make me an intro to a documentary, can people help me get into contact with him? I want him to make me an intro because he did so well with the intro for "The Brony Chronicles". I would like him to make an intro for my documentary, "The Brony Legacy" With the same music as the irony chronicles. Please help, this is a huge part of my grade.
6. Hello again, I'm back with another question that will get backlash opinion and hatred, what if there's a documentary on the criticism of bronies, why it all started based on the fandom and the cast and crew's response to the criticism of bronies? The criticism on the bronies have been mentioned in Bronies: The Extremely Unexcepted Fans of My Little Pony. (And if you seen A Brony Tale on Tribeca Film Festival, the topic possibly be on the documentary. Maybe.) Give your opinion and I will respond your opinions! P.S. Forgive me, this is just a question and forgive me for my grammar. I have autism and I can't think a lot of words in my mind.
7. As the title suggests, there's been a plethora of Brony documentaries that appears here and there on the internet. For example, the most recent trailer being this one. Okay, maybe back in 2011 when this thing was seriously all over the internet, but isn't this "phenomena" more public knowledge as of 2014? I mean there are bronies that literally just joined the fandom yesterday, but considering that the fandom is quite large and well established, I kind of see this as a bit unnecessary attention. Think of it this way. What if there was a documentary on all the anime watchers/otakus every single year? That is what I honestly think of these Brony documentaries. I guess what I'm saying is, do you think the brony fandom is big enough to be considered mainstream? If that's the case, I don't think Brony Documentaries are needed. Share what you think
8. http://www.horse-news.net/2014/04/mtv-documentary-on-bronies.html It is horse news, so viewer discretion advised. But MTV made a brony documentary. How do you feel about this? Do you think this will effect the public images of us at all?
9. As some of you may or may not know, BABSCon (Bay Area Bronies Spectacular Con) is happening near San Francisco, CA in April where I will be working on a documentary on Brony culture. At this point in time, I have no plans for the length of the documentary. I imagine it will fall somewhere between 30-60 minutes. Possibly more, but no less. It will be shot on a regular HD Handycam, with an external mic-- nothing fancy as I'm definitely on a budget. I want to interview many bronies, but I'm also looking to follow a couple of bronies on their 'journey' to BABSCon. I want to focus on a few personal stories from bronies. I should note that I am not a brony, I just saw that BABSCon was coming, and I have yet to hear of a decent brony documentary. This is purely for fun, and I am not a film major. I majored in anthropology, and so that's where my interest comes from. I have no intentions of portraying bronies in a negative light, it is going to be as non-biased as I can make it. Due to the budget of the film, I cannot reach out across states or seas to film other bronies, however there are two ways in which long distant bronies can help... #1 I'm asking bronies to email me videos of themselves answering a few questions: 1) Define Brony 2) Why is being a Brony important to you? 3)What is one thing you want non-bronies to know about brony culture Videos should be no more than 5 minutes. #2 Send your brony artwork! You will, of course, receive credit in the video and on screen as it is displayed in the video. If you write fanfict, you are also welcome to send a video or just audio of you reading it. it may be sent to raquelrinconsf[at]gmail[dot]com Please send me a message on here with your email if you are interested in participating, and I will email you a release form (if you are under 18 a parent or guardian will need to sign it.) EDIT: I have also been sending emails every so often to those interested in participating or just interested in the production of the documentary. If you would like to receive those emails, please email at raquelrinconsf[at]gmail[dot]com and ask to be added to the group.

12. This is, by far, the best documentary made about the brony fandom. A very well made, and free of charge documentary that is amazing to say the least. Hats off to Saberspark and PaleoSteno for making this as awesome as it is. Here's the documentary:

The BronyDoc...

It was amazing. Recently I've started to lose faith in the fandom, I felt as if it was becoming more and more inhabited with stupid people, people that haven't the slightest on how to act, especially online. I was seeing these dumb comments on youtube that were saying "Bronies will take over and you will become one" or "Embrace Bronies because we will rule the internet eventually", stuff like that, word for word, just makes me feel bad about our fandom, and yesterday one of my best friends told me that he was seeing a lot of dumb Bronies on TF2 himself. Now he doesn't have anything agianst Bronies personally but just agianst stupid people, like me, and he knows I'm a Brony and he's cool with it, but even he could tell Bronies are not what they used to be, they aren't as amazing as they used to be. I felt like there were only saints that weren't subject to stupidity in our fandom. But that all changed a few minutes ago. I watched the documentary, and it made me remember this last summer, it made me remember what our fandom is all about, it made me remember why I even became a brony in the first place, not because of the show, but because of the people. The amazing people that make up our fandom, the creative Bronies, the kind Bronies, the fun-loving Bronies, the good and wonderful people that are, Bronies. Thanks to all the people that made BronyDoc, my faith in the fandom has been restored :')
15. Hello all. I just finished watching a very interesting video on YouTube. A video that made me think, and may I add, made me proud to be a part of this amazing fandom. I recommend it to all of you whole heartily. I know many of you won't bother as IS an hour long but if you have the time, watch. This is perhaps one of the most educated, tolerant, and unbiased documentary on the brony fandom I've ever come across. If you've already seen it, that's great! But it was that good that I felt it deserved a thread on this website. If you do decide to watch it or have already seen it, post and share your thoughts. I'd love to hear what you all think about it.
16. Is it just me who is hyped about this? I really hope it will reach it's goal so we can have an awesome documentary. What do you think? Are you hyped? Do you think it will happen? It's on like $20.000 of $60.000 and there is only 5 days left..
17. As you all probably know, there is a very well funded Brony Documentary on Kickstarter that has had substantial success with its funding (Over $ 200,000 has been put into the project last time I checked). Despite all the success it has been having, we all know there will be critics toward projects that ask for donations from the public. (The brony documentary part starts at around 3:35 in the video) I have listened to the points he tries to state, but for the most part I am uncertain about his description of Bronies in general. I mean sure, we don't need to have a documentary to express our appreciation toward the show, but why is people donating money to support this project seem like such a bad thing to him? It also doesn't help that he never really says anything positive about Bronies in the video even though he does believe we have the right to express our opinion. I dunno, he seems knowledgeable on certain points, but I still think he is missing something in his argument.
18. After seeing all of these various documentaries popping up about Bronies I figured I could try my hand at it. My general idea is to have a number of Bronies voice their opinions on certain topics that I'll send them later on. Now anypony can join this part if they have a mic. The one thing I need for sure if someone who would be willing to take my audio and make it into a video as I have no video software... only audio. If you are interested just message me or reply to this topic with a description of who you are. (Hobbies and what not.) I will try to send everyone a copy of the questions once I have them all written. For more details just message me with your question.

HOME

I would like to present a documentary to you which is called HOME. You can find it in 720p on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IbDmOt-vIL8 A documentary of the origin of life on earth, how it evolved and the influence of humans after all. The scenes and pictures are absolutely stunning and beatiful so give it a chance, even if the commentary is slightly overdramatic sometimes.
