  1. Hey folks, As many of you might be aware, anonymity tends to have "interesting" effects on people. A shy person might suddenly become a stand up comedian and a Reddit user might inadvertently sprout a fedora. Whatever the case, we tend to act differently online to how we act in real life. I (and seemingly many others) find this interesting, so I thought I'd create a thread for people to talk about the differences between their online and offline personalities. My personality isn't hugely different here, but there are a few things: I use the greeting "hey folks" a lot on the internet, whereas I would never say something so corny in real life I'm actually a lot more shy on the internet than I am in my day-to-day interactions. In the real world, I have absolutely no problem going up to random people (or groups of people) and just casually talking to them. However, on the internet I find approaching people to be extremely awkward. In all honesty, I think it's mostly to do with the fact that what we write online is semi-permanent - meaning that you get too much of a chance to scrutinise what you say/write. Anyway, I'm interested to hear from others so do fire away.
  2. Hello Forum Friends! Everfree Northwest wants to make sure you are able to stay in the loop as we put out announcements for 2019! As we move forward into our eighth annual convention, we will be focusing our announcements out of our main social media outlets: Twitter, Facebook, and Tumblr. You can also find us on Instagram, Deviantart, and of course here on the Poniverse forums, but to stay informed on all convention announcements, we recommend following one (or all) of our three main social media accounts. Any questions about the event? Don't hesitate to reach out across any platform, or email! We look forward to seeing you all in Seaddle May 19-21, 2019.
  3. Tune in next week for Live chat on Facebook with Twilight Sparkle and Pinkie Pie!
  4. So basically I'm looking for a place where I could showcase my pony artwork. An active artist community where I can get some feedback and critique. And, possibly, gain popularity and recognition in the community. I've tried tumblr, but it lacks the comment/discussion options. FurAffinity has a really poor browsing and category system (and let's be honest, it's basically a fetish site). I have an art thread here, on the Forums (it's HERE), but I get very little feedback (which is understandable since art is not the main focus of this site). So far, the best place I can think of is deviantArt. Problem is, I don't really like the site itself. Too many dumb and unnecessary features that draw your attention away from art. In order to gain popularity and get feedback, you need to participate in all of the weird social stuff like llama trade and whatnot... I ain't got time fo' this. <old fart mode> The site was SO MUCH better 10+ years ago </old fart mode> So...? Any ideas? Does anyone know a good art sharing site? Maybe you know an active facebook art group? Anything?
  5. I for one never really li- lived for the like/dislike system. It is a 50/50 split between liking or disliking it. Usually some of the videos I watch on YouTube are average, so I do not click on the like button. If I liked the video, I click the like button. Simple right? Youtubers just asking for a like at the end of a video is just annoying to me. I get that clicking on the like button would bring their video higher in the search results. However just liking every single video I come across loses my definition of what 'like' means. It just turns it into some involuntary action. Basically I will like the video if I like it. I still miss the 5 star rating system YouTube used to have.

    Our dank meme pages.

A friend talked me into starting an H.P. Lovecraft dank meme page on Facebook; we both contribute to the page. Here's one of the latest and most stupidest memes: And said friend started up their own ridiculous but necessary Zelda / Link dank meme page. Here's one of their posts: If you're on Facebook and even remotely interested in Lovecraft or Zelda or dank memes, you might see something you like.

To take a go at Facebook, I have designed this photo in a matter of seconds and will now share it with you. Give me all the likes, btw.
  8. Or is it only for beautiful popular socially perfect folks ? Serious question. I ain't that pretty, no bronies in this damn country (that i know of) and I try to meet new people to talk to on Skype, meet up maybe etc etc. Social anxiety sucks and i'm pretty scared of going on FB too. What do you guys think ?
  9. Well i found these: 1.Twitter 2.Facebook 3.LInkedin ______________
  10. Have you seen anything posted on Facebook that you found bad or disgraceful? My Facebook account is deactivated now but during the times when it was active, I saw: - People kissing/making out with each other: I'm sorry, but I don't like it when people post pictures like that on social media. It makes me think that they're doing it for none other than the likes and attention. - Relationship Statuses: I hate relationship status updates because they violate privacy. Is it necessary to tell the world that you are in a relationship with someone? Shouldn't it be kept mostly personal? - Picture of someone in the hospital: I once looked into my mom's account and I saw one of my relatives posting a picture of her mom (who is very old and in serious condition) in the hospital. I found that extremely offensive and also makes me think that people want everything to be public. There are other things I saw but these three took the cake.
  11. I use Instagram occasionally, but I am thinking of deleting it and I stopped using Facebook a long time ago because of drama. So do you guys use social media? What is your opinion about FB, Insta, etc?

    Do you judge people?

    1. Do you judge people based on their profile pic, typing, outer appearance, personal interests etc.? Do you think it's fair to do that? 2. If you were employer would you go and check your job seekers Facebook or other social media profiles before you decide who to hire? Do you think it's fair that some people do it? My opinions are: 1. Yes, because I like to know what kind of people I'm dealing with and creating some kind of picture from that person helps me come little closer to that person. If I can't create any picture telling me what kind of person I'm dealing with then that person starts to feel more distant to me. I think that is pretty fair to do that, because otherwise it would be kind of hard to get to know people over the internet. 2. I don't even use Facebook or other social medias that much. I think that peoples social media profiles shouldn't affect their chances on getting a job. I think those people who look social media profiles to choose their employees are close minded, because persons interests or profile pic doesn't relate to his working ethic in any way. But when they have seen those profiles and what kind of people they are it's really hard for them to not to let it affect when they choose the workers.
  14. What is wrong with Oculus now? Why do you think it's ruining the Oculus? I heard so many hate comments about it's acquisition Do you think Facebook will make it sh*t? I am actually ok with the idea because I can't spend $299 for a whole headset. With this idea, almost everybody can use the Oculus Rift. I want even the poor people in rural areas to try VR not just in Urban side. So guys can you tell me why?

    Facebook: Useful or Overrated?

I'm contemplating beginning a new Facebook account. I've never had Facebook before and I was wondering if it's got any uses at all. So it's a poll and a debate of sorts. Is a Facebook account worth starting?

    WWII on Facebook

better than history books hu? Source:
  20. I got a question, I've been playing Video games since 4 years old. I played a lot of Playstation and Xbox Games. Now when I try Facebook games since 2009. I like it. But now I am worried. I still play REAL console games but I stopped myself to play FB games because gamers said "Facebook games does not make you a gamer" OR "Facebook games suck! Real gamers don't play them" I mean.... geez I wanted to play too but I feel that it will stop me from being a real gamer. But I miss my progress on my FB games. Will I still be a real gamer even if I play FB games? I wanted to play them again
  21. Check this page out. I have to admit I'm pretty disgusted by the things posted on this page. This guy completely takes the piss out of the MLP fandom and says some insulting things about us as well as others do. I don't want to do anything drastic, like try to take the page down, and I don't want anyone else to try that either. And I haven't been completely explosive-mega-angry-hateful-person towards the page either. But I did post a little something on the wall voicing my opinions, with no swearing or hateful comments, and he deleted it. Well, isn't that nice? I spent ages writing that out and he goes and gets rid of it. What do you guys have to say about this page? I can't believe some people can be completely disrespectful and intolerant like this.

    Cascade on Facebook

I made a Facebook page for my OC, Cascade. I feel I may have created a monster. But now that she's there, she'll never leave.

    Post your Pony Maker ponies

Hasbro has released an official Pony Maker app on Facebook and it has quite a few features (though not as extensive as generalzoi's pony creator), so to quote EqD: "Head on over to this page, download the app, and MAKE SOME PONIES." And, uh, post them in this thread of course. Here's my OC, Dave, as a ninja. I call him "Ninja Dave". (free cookie to anyone who gets the reference)
  24. I don't know how many of you use facebook, but there was a page called "Teen Swag :]" that had over 1.2 Million likes. Essentially it was a cancerous page that posted those "Just Girly Things" pictures, the "1 like = 1 respect/prayer/etc" pictures, things like "lyek if u evr dun dis" pictures... you get the point. A few of the smaller pages (Under 75k likes) with rather dedicated fanbases, such as "This is why aliens won't talk to us" and "BestOfYouTubeComments" organized a raid on the page. It was so successful that within a day facebook took down the page. So I have no idea why I'm telling you all this. I didn't even participate. Maybe I'm just happy because we are one step closer to curing the cancer known as "swag." Yes, I know, love and tolerate. But if you think about it, I'm showing them love by saving them from their insanity ;P P.S. I don't necessarily have a problem with the "swag" style, or their little phrases (although they do get overused to the point of irritation), it's more the self-centered, "I'm better than you 'cuz u no gots swaggs' mentality. Also it seems to accumulate in groups of people who are, well, lacking in the fields of grammar and logic. Also, I get a lot of hate for MLP from SwagFags, so I do have a bit of a prejudice against them.
  25. Here is the link in which, as you could see, shit went down. I read that article a little before I made this topic, but it didn't really surprise me. Parents acting on their fear of their children going through the same thing as that horrible incident which rocked that school in Connecticut and ultimately ended up finding something to blame. You can kind of tell that I don't worry about their own kids' safety, but rather their inability to not go ahead and educate themselves about what actually happened. Misidentifying the actual suspect and then using a video game as a scapegoat is hardly anything to be respectful of.
