  1. - I don't have a OC. Also feels pretty hard when you go artist skills at all. And would prob require some time effort nonetheless. - As written above, I simply can't create art. - I just recently joined Derpibooru and didn't visit it as often. I do fetch images on my discordserver with TwilightBot though. - I just joined the fandom ~10 months ago despite watching MLP since roughly Season 2 release. - I was never at any ponycon. - At least I met some bronies recently IRL. I hope we didn't loose contact again though. - I almost never visit ED except like 2 times a year. - I barely watched youtube videos (fanworks), but I started some months ago with this as well, subscribed some channels and now I got like 70 unseen videos there. - I don't have any merchandise.
  2. Now, I've been a brony since very near the beginning of the fandom. I've been shooting down threads like these since season four. Guess the horseshoe is on the other hoof now though. I've been thinking, what is next for us after season nine ends? Obviously sites like these won't just shut down but what about the content creators? Will bronies on Youtube like Dr. Wolf still make theory videos? Will the fanfic writers (like what I try to be) still make stories? Will the artists still make pictures of the Mane Six, and the musicians still make songs about Equestria? Will the conventions still be held especially now that Bronycon is shutting down? On the one hoof, I can look to those like Prince Whatever who not too recently wrote a beautiful anthem that the fandom isn't going anywhere and the staff at EQD even wrote a nice article about the core fandom remaining strong. On the other, IlikeKimPossibleAlot called the feeling of the show ending bittersweet and seemed bummed about it and I don't blame her and even DWK kind of jokingly looked forward to the show's ending like escaping a "candy coated nightmare". Which I don't think is a serious insult or slight because that's just his bit. I suppose I'm being kind of ridiculous, after all, many fandoms have outlived their shows ending. Hell the Browncoats made outliving their show a part of their culture. I suppose I'm half-venting and half asking, what are your feelings on the show coming to an end and how that will affect you as a brony?
  3. What did you think of bronies when you first heard of them?
  4. OK, I am sure something similar to this has already been posted but....here I go. I have found that the most effective way to weed out the bronys from the other crowd is to display something that is pony in public but yet in a discreet way. For instance, I changed my ringtone to a rock version of the mlpfim opening song. To the none brony it sounds simply like a rock song, but any brony would pick up in a second. Just curios to hear how other bronys try to weed out the bronys in a crowd?
  5. With the show nearing it's end I decided to really think about why I like the show and also the fandom again. Reasons I like the show: Ensemble cast. Developed relatable characters- Not creepy robots/shells of characters. (Think older MLP stuff ) Doesn't rely on stupidity to try and entertain. Talking quadruped animals (big part of cartoons/movies from my childhood) The Mane 6 are POST HIGH SCHOOL age (I actually think this is one of the BIG reasons for the fandom- but I don't see it discussed much) A lot of veteran crew who worked on shows I liked as a kid have worked on MLP Good writing, voice acting, and animation. Flash animation in particular- since I worked with it in school for a bit so I can recognize the extra effort in MLP's animation. A lot of other shows that use flash look pretty crappy in comparison. Reasons I like the fandom: Generally chill people CREATIVITY (Fan art/animation) People working on the show are involved Overall generally positive and fun So have you thought about such things recently? I'd like to know- so post below! Um, list format please... if that's OK with you
  6. is the mlp fandom part of the furry fandom? - Bronies don't wear fur suits - the mlp fandom is more strict on the persona races - mlp fandom has a core source (mlp:fim) to talk about as the furry fandom is more general - lots more my opinion: Bronies are NOT the same as furries
  7. This is what keeps me thinking all night and i just wanted to say this to get off my crest. To any of my watchers who are Ponies fans, that if you want to know about me, Is understanding why I dislike Sonic x MLP crossover?I not considering complaining or trolling, on the Sonic fandom or MLP should crossover.THIS is MY OWN Personal opinion how Sonic and MLP are NOTHING Alike!this is like comparing lettuces and cabbages. The point of this is to analyze similar characters and finding to tell theme apart of find their similarities and differences.Dispite, there are know horrible shippings or bad fanfictions those plots that cliché or predictable. The one thing I hated this crossover because of fans comparing Sonic characters with the Mane Six,Some fans believe that these characters personalities and traits are similar to Sonic and his friends and they are totally the same characters,I wanted to see actual differences of characters and the series are they are NOT the same. It's just the way I see this similarities is that the Mane Six seemly didn't seem to stood out as individual and completely original characters,as fanS speculate that these characters are inspired from Sonic characters. These are common similarities of these characters if as you know.......Sonic = Rainbow Dash: for having being cool blue characters who are fast.Amy = Pinkie Pie: For being the color pink or somewhat randomCream = Fluttershy: Shy, kind, timid personalitiesBlaze = Twilight: Purple color and both princesses.Shadow = Sunset: Well having backstories that getting along the main characters and consider Chaos Emeralds = The Elements: Plot devices that involves defeating villains.Mane Six have something unique about them.I really wanted to know there any differences at all!I heard that Sonic characters are known be bland or bad.I'm sorry, I just wanted to see if there's anything more Unique traits to or any characters developments of these Pony characters, or anyone looking a deeper analysis on their personalities.MLP show is to have some respective nature and good writing of these episodes than any Sonic cartoon. This show doesn't revolve these ponies fighting random villains all the time. This show seems to have maturely and major changes in this show.So what to you think that Sonic characters inspired the Mane SIX
  8. Is the fandom divided? Not something I can answer in a single post, something that needs a lot of discussion I think. I'll get the ball rolling with my overly depressing take on things. The R34, the terrible (yet praised) fan-fic the militant attitudes of some, and the downright creepiness of what I will call 'elite' bronies be it popular musicians/youtubers whatever the people who form a tight nit community within the brony community itself and then set there own rules. Just spend some time on YouTube and elsewhere eventually you'll see what I mean. I can deal with all that. What russles my jimmies however is the increasingly fractured state of the brony community. Forming into sub-groups based on drama and ultimately leading many to become simply more interested in being part of a 'counter-culture' than being a fan of what they are in the fandom for in the first place. Twilicorn, equestria girls. And the one that russled my jimmies was actually the brony documentary. 300,000 dollars to be part of and excuse my language here but there is no other way to express this: a massive circle jerk of the community in a completely biased and sycophant fashion, that has caused me to lose respect for everyone involved in production as well as some of the brony community. I have avoided all fan bases since Pokemon generation one when I was still a nieve kid myself. The utopia of the fandom has either been lost or it was never there in the first place. I sometimes wonder if having found the show in total isolation of the fandom would have been better. Perhaps there is hope. To me the finding of the show itself merely a year ago was a small light in a very dark world. Well now that I've cheered everyone up. I'll end this post

Reasons for removing from the lists: Gore & brutality, descriptions of how fillies were beaten, pony homicides incl. shown on screen with blood, and a description from something so much worse I will not share it here with anyone but staff. Apples, Apples Everwhere! & FlutterIsland 1/2 Reasons for removing from the lists: Close to the previous one, meant as a "horror game", this game features pony dieing brutally randomly on screen or finding very bloody remnants of these. Template: Ratings explained & template: Edit: After a short research, the age rating of the US seems to be rather...different than Germany's and I am not sure I will stick to them.
  10. It's a question commonly asked. But how do you think the fandom will be like after G4 ends? I think the fandom will still hold up together but might shrink a little bit. (This is also a thing all fandoms have in common) but will the fandom last forever?
  11. Bon Bon deserves a fan page!!!! Please make her popular
  12. It's always been a source of personal interest when joining new forums, seeing veteran members with many posts and others who've been around for a more moderate time with a more moderate amount of posts. Do you bronies participate greatly in other fandoms such as this one, meaning you attend cons, post enthusiastically about specific characters and never tire of it, are they a part of your identity if you were to ask what is? We all have others things we're fans of but what else do you go hard for. As in, intensely, not.. Ahum. And are ponies your number one or? Tell tell. For me, am pretty casual as far as bronies go. Never get high post counts in forums (Though my first was most like a home. This place like that for anyone?) but have been very active in other fandoms as far as their place in my heart goes as well as time spent on them and time interacting with other fans. Bronies seem so very nice, though.
  13. what do you think is the biggest rivalry in geekdom? it can be rivalry between to different fandoms like star wars vs star trek, or a character rivalry like batman vs superman. personally the biggest fandom rivalry ive been a part of is thor vs hulk ( thor should always beat hulk). please post your thoughts on which rivalry is the biggest and the biggest rivalry you have been a part of.
  14. OK, I keep seeing people who are leaving or have already left the forums, and most of them don't tend to explain why. With that, I'll cut to the chase: is there something that offends people about the forums, or do that many people really lose interest in ponies after a couple of years. Is the fandom's turnover really that bad?
  15. The more I look and observe our generation, the more I dont see religion. Fifty years ago, religion defined somebody, made them who they are and fandoms were not as important, but the more I realize our generation, the more I see this is completly flipped. Fandoms have defined us (bronys, whoovians, treckis, ect), but religion has been a topic almost long forgotten. Which is why I ask, are fandoms the new religion?
  16. Here are my favorite songs created/remixed by the MLP:FiM community! Enjoy! ♥
  17. I think the answer is yes. Maybe it's just the types of fans I see, but a large portion of our fandom seems to take this show too seriously. No, I'm not gonna use the excuse "it's just a kids show!" because I believe kids television programming deserves the same quality as adults. However, I think our community is WAY too harsh on certain episodes, and it's getting worse and worse with every season. Remember when FiM was just that show we didn't expect to be great but it was? Well, now we expect it to be great, we expect it to be hit after hit after hit every episode. Or at least some of us do. You yourself may not judge this show too harshly, but I know a handful of fans who do, and I just think we need to take a step back before we rage about the latest episode disaster.
  18. Do ever feel like you've been here too long? On the forum, in the fandom? If so why?
  19. I used the search function and there didn't seem to be any topics dedicated to HTF at all. I was just thinking about this the other day and would like to know if Happy tree friends is popular with the Brony fandom. Personally, I used to like happy tree friends but I stopped watching it after "see ya later elevator" due to the long waiting periods between episodes and ever since the tv series, I think too many episodes focus on Lumpy.
  20. Hey, everyone! As you might know, I've recently been returning to websites like this and EqD to get back in touch with my old friends from the Brony fandom, and experience some nostalgia before the inevitable happens with My Little Pony. Since the start of the end is happening soon, now that I have collected my thoughts on the topic, I just wanted to say that, although I might no longer be a Brony, there's no denying that this show and the fandom around it meant a lot to me... Personally, I never expected that the day I decided to watch MLP out of being bored and finding something to do on my mother's old, slow and pink laptop could have lead to such a big part of my life. Since 2014, being in the fandom gave me a place to be in my free time, it helped me discover parts of myself I never previously knew about, I learned a lot of lessons and I became the person I am today, all thanks to the ponies. And so far, nothing, not even my obsession with Splatoon have managed to come close to what MLP was to me. It sounds silly to say but, MLP left a big impression on me, and it influenced me in a lot of ways that I never saw coming (e.g. my art style is quite clearly derived from MLP for the most part). I'm not sure where I would have been without this show, as it has helped me grow, it has helped me mature, and the fandom felt like a second home to me... Because of the kind of mark MLP has left on me in my life, I just wanted to say thank you to Lauren Faust, DHX Media, Hasbro, and of course the Brony fandom for making MLP the thing I remember it as today. To anyone here (or elsewhere) from the fandom that I may have fell out of touch with, I just wanted to say that I'm sorry things couldn't work out and I do wish things were different... I'm sure that in some way, shape or form, if you were my friend during my Brony years, you have definitely left some kind of influence on me. I have really enjoyed my time in the fandom and I wouldn't have my teen to young adult years spent any other way! Personally, for me, MLP wasn't just another popular show to me, but it was also an experience, which lead to many other things in my life and basically branched out into something more than just something to watch when I'm bored. I'll be sure to watch the episodes as they air, and it has been fun being part of the fandom for as long as I have! -Nightfall Samuel. And now, one of the first Brony songs I ever listened to, and also the song I knew would become nostalgic when the time finally came, also no doubt my favourite fandom song:
  21. did you ever in you life imagine that you will like a show for girl like mlp and end up in the bronie fandom? For me I never not even in my childhood I ever dream I a end up whatching mlp and becoming a fan. sometime when I watch the show I feel strange like weird I even fight within my self part of me like the show part of me think that I am male think I should not watch this show that is for girl. is like fighting the rule of society that man should behave like that.
  22. Y'know what really grinds my gears? When bronies talk about the fandom as if it's a club that requires dues or regular participation to remain in. I'm so sick of hearing this "quit the fandom" stuff as if you're leaving an organization like the Boy Scouts of America or something. I've taken a mighty whack at this subject on these forums, but I can't seem to make a dent. Here's one more attempt. If you still like the show, then you can still call yourself a brony. If you want to, that is. No one has to do anything they don't want. But this is a fandom--it doesn't require monthly dues, and it doesn't require community participation. If you like the show, then you can call yourself a brony! That's it! Tired of the show? Don't want to watch for awhile? Fine! That doesn't mean you've "quit the fandom"! Not unless you decided that you actually dislike the show! I read these posts all the time that say things like, "I'm going off to college and won't be able to watch the show for awhile, so I'm quitting the fandom. So sorry. I don't want to leave, but I have to." IT DOESN'T MATTER IF YOU'RE ACTIVE OR NOT. It's a freaking hiatus. I haven't watched Star Wars in years. I'm still a fan. I don't care if you ever watch the show again! If you still like it, then you can still call yourself a brony! You don't have to "quit" the fandom unless you don't like the show anymore! My head a splode.
  23. After seeing a discussion on a MLP collector forum, I am curious. Do you like MLP but not consider yourself a brony? Why not? Personally, I consider myself a casual brony because I watch the show and some youtube videos, and have some G4 merch. But, first and foremost I'm a vintage toy collector with a preference for vintage MLP toys. Many in the (vintage) collector community don't consider themselves a brony at all.
  24. UPDATE: The survey will be closing by the end of the month! Try to spread it around, the more people the better! Hey everypony! Thanks for clicking this topic, and I'm sure you're curious as to what could be in store after… Whelp! GUESS WHAT?! There's a survey going on right now on the web for "How has fandoms affected your life?" The survey is pretty short and to the point, and it's to help tally up the results of how positively fandoms affect our daily lives. If you're a brony like me, go ahead and put in your two bits. Don't be afraid to mention you're in other fandoms too, I mean I'm a true trekkie when it comes down to it. Here's a link to the survey~~ https://docs.google.com/…/1OXpMtwct7OnQRrVslxudlOY…/viewform The people running it are a non-profit organization called,"Manifold Creators Society". The organization was made to support fans from fandoms, and help to educate what fandoms are truly about. This survey, if we have enough people submitting to it, will prove that fandoms are overall very positive to be in. Please tell me what you think of it after you've clicked submit as I am one of the members that helped to create the survey. It's my first survey, too. Thanks again for reading, and I hope you're willing to help support the survey. Share it out to all your fandoms ;3
  25. We all know the story of the modern my little pony fanbase. An unexpected and once monumental fanbase that dominated the internet during 2012 and 2013 respectively. The fanbase known for a huge amount of 13-30 year old males has seemingly disappeared from the mainstream and is now but a memory of a very strange time. I was one of those people who used to love it. At the age of 13 in 2012 I watched an episode and the rest is history. Up until 2015 I loved MLP. But during season 5 I lost interest and started to look elsewhere. For the longest time I could never figure this out. In my search for answers the first one I came to was that the fanbase had ruined it for me. Then over time I came to the conclusion that it was never good to begin with and that I and everyone else involved were getting in on a trend and deluded ourselves to believe it was good. My actual problem couldn't be further from the truth. MY PROBLEM My actual problem was that the show I liked had simply ended. A youtuber talked about this in depth and explained that seasons 1-4 was pretty much it's own separate show from seasons 5 and onward. Seasons 1 through 4 were dedicated to the development of the main characters established in season 1. By season 4 this process (with the exception of the CMC) was over. Season 5 and onward has been about these new characters that I simply do not care about. Truth of the matter is that MLP seasons 1-4 was actually a pretty good television programme that was loved for good reason. MY EXPERIENCE The reason I adopted the "it was a fad" idea was simply down to the shame I felt due to watching it. Internally my defence for it lasted all throughout my interest in it. I started to feel shame once I had been away from it for some time. And let me tell you, the judgement from other people was awful. I could take a little bit of teasing about it (hell I'd even joke about it myself a little). But that doesn't excuse how other people acted over it. I lost two friends to this hobby. Two people actively rejected me due to liking MLP. To add to that my family weren't exactly nice about it either. I recently came to the realisation that my mother had actually attempted to stop me watching it on one occasion. Since I let go of this interest we haven't talked about it since. Hell there have been occasions where I've mentioned my little pony and they quickly like to change the subject (most likely due to shame of having a son/brother who was into that). I won't claim we needed a rights movement or anything but some very socially conservative people genuinely would hate you for watching it. I wanted to buy merch but now you can see why I never had the guts to do it. On a lighter note having re-watched the earlier episodes I feel completely ok about what I did. I liked my little pony: friendship is magic... and that was ok. THE FUTURE It has come to my attention that a generation 5 of MLP is in development. Without spoiling anything I will say I am digging the ideas brought up and do believe it could make MLP a trend again. Maybe not to quite the extent as in 2012/13 but it could get close. In the run up to it's launch and when more official info comes out I may well become active around here again. If you still remember me I hope you all know that I do not hold anything against you people and your hobby and want to thank you for letting me be involved. And I hope that in the near future I may be involved again.
