  1. What would happen if all of the original characters you've made.... From MLP, from any other fandom, from any tabletop RPGs you've played, ALL OF THEM! Met together in one room? Would they get along? Would they fight amongst themselves? What would the resulting chaos be? Sooo, my characters include Hocus Pocus: My ponysona and only fandom OC. Nephelus: A Sylvan Wizard and Wind Listener that I created for Pathfinder. Echo: Another Sylvan Wizard Wind Listener created to be an NPC, and was the reason I decided to make Nephelus as a PC in a friend's campaign. Nymdas: A reclusive smoke-fairy ranger, Butler the Doorman: A human fighter who's preferred weapon is a door, still on its frame. Smokey the Sorcerer Sylph: Another Sylph, made for a PVP Pathfinder night... Has no weapons or armor, spent all his money of alchemist's fire and bags of holding, his initiative is through the roof, and he's immune to fire due to his draconic bloodline sorcerer ability... always goes first, and detonates next to his opponent. Rikki: Homicidal Ratfolk assassin vampire, who surrounds opponents in darkness before attacking so nobody sees her commit the murder. Beef Studpile: Half-orc barbarian who is as unpredictable as he is strong. Muffin: A halfling in which I exploited Mythic Teir rules and the slight of hand skill to allow me to launder infinite money... Craig: An Oread monk who exists to help other people and infuriate my DM by making puns.... so many puns.... Unnamed Zealot Cleric: A cleric that doesn't even know her own name that attempts to cram her faith down everyone else's throat... another character started telepathically communicating with her, claiming to be her goddess, and she believed them, following this character's every command and ticking off the entire party when she commits acts such as throwing buckets of goat's blood onto the Barbarian. Dan (AKA The Dapper Dastard): A Shadowrun Elf, created to infuriate my DM (The same one that Craig was created to tick off) who wants to keep his Shadowrun campaigns "serious"... Dan is a stereotypical evil magician with a long, thin, curly mustache, a tophat, from which he summons spirits by pulling them out, a tuxedo and black cape (with red lining on the inside), and the most powerful foci you can buy in the game that takes the form of a crappy, plastic, black magician's wand with white tips. Brain: another Shadowrun character. He's a troll that was once the muscle of a group of pretty successful runners, dim witted (they call him brain because he's quite proficient at removing brains from their owners), but loyal, Brain's Shadowrunning crew was arrested while he was away creating a distraction to keep bank security occupied. Brain now seeks to find a new crew so he can exact his vengeance. As for my characters, most of them would probably get along.... With the exception of my evil or chaotic neutral Shadowrun and Pathfinder characters.... ...In fact, at least half of the rest of my OCs would probably wind up dead due to Rikki... But after she was dealt with (probably from her trying to stab smokey, which would result in her exploding), the rest of them would probably band together and become pretty good friends. I'm sure my Ponysona and Echo would get along especially well; both are rather reclusive, curious, magic obsessed individuals, and.... Well, come to think of it, both Smokey and Echo know the "Wish" spell, so any dead OCs wouldn't remain dead for too long, anyway! It'd definitely be an interesting sight to see; the whole merry band of misfits together in one place Edit: Added a list of characters because that seems like a smart idea that others are doing :3
  2. So everypony, i would like to know from everyone why they are in the fandom and here on the forums. Of course, that question can easily be answered with an obvious answer but i would like to know the reason why you go on the internet and write posts or comments or anything. Why are you active in general? What drives you? Is there something you want to reach or gain? (And want to tell about it) Are you here for the fan content? Here for the show? Here for friendship? Here for discussion? Write it down! P.S.: Answer the question of this post down below, not the question of the poll.
  3. Do you watch MLP with any of your family members, like parents, siblings, cousins, or maybe even your friends, or relationship partners? What do they think of the show, and what are their points of view on it? I watch MLP with my mom, and even though she's not in the fandom cause she doesn't follow anything, she doesn't read fanfics, she doesn't listen to music, or look at the art. She just watches the show, and enjoys it! She doesn't make a big deal over it, but she gets pissed when I watch an episode without her! XD She has some opinions of the show that are common with mine, and some that are different! Fluttershy is her favorite! She also really likes Rainbow and AJ! She doesn't like Pinkie cause she's too hyper. She has mixed feelings with Twilight, and she's okay with Starlight. She doesn't like Discord. She likes all the CMCs, and she likes Scootaloo best mainly cause she pities her and thinks she's an orphan cause her parents never showed up on the show. She likes Spike as well! She doesn't like Rarity though cause she's a drama-queen, and she doesn't like how she treats Spike, much like my opinion of Rarity. I DO like Rarity! I think she's a good character, and her drama queen moments are funny! But I agree that I don't like how Rarity uses Spike's crush on her to get him to do stuff she wants, which is pretty much why I want the crush to end. My mom does although like Flurry Heart, and the entire Apple family, and all of the princesses! She likes Celestia best because she's colorful! How about anybody you know? What are their opinions of the show?
  4. Leaving all the "I don't like this, I hate this, I don't like those fans, it's just disgusting and wrong." stuff behind us let's have a friendly discussion here. Let's see what we all bronies and pegasisters have in common. These are rules for discussion 1- No bashing 2- No harsh criticizing 3- Respect everypony here I'm gonna tell about myself first. I like the show so much, I can really relates to some of it's characters. I also like the fandom despite all the "conflicts". I might not approve a few things in the fandom but I respect what other people like as long as they can do same for me. Let us know each other in a better way.
  5. What did you think of bronies when you first heard of them?
  6. Don't you find it ironic that a show as optimistic as Friendship is Magic has a fandom full of pessimistic people?
  7. So imagine MLP has reached its final episode. What will happen afterwards? Will the forums stick around? Will the fandom keep producing new material? Will people even join the fandom after that? You can choose I personally hope that the fandom will keep being awesome and that the Forums will still be here even after the show ends. Not sure if that will happen though But we can dream
  8. So long question short, i've been watching MLP with my little sister for a while now, and this question came to mind...what "defines" a Brony? Do we have to be a certain age? Do we have to NOT be a certain age? Do we have to fill certain requirements? Would my 6 year old sister be considered a Brony, or just a kid who likes MLP? What age would she be considered a true Brony? Of course im not asking seriously, im just wondering what does define us? The general internet term for Brony is - male fans of the show My Little Pony. So by that respect would my 5 year old brother be considered a Brony if he where to watch the show, or would he simply be another child fan of the show? You know what im asking, for whatever reason i'm not quite sure, let me know what you think.
  9. Have you noticed that in a lot of fandoms, fan-made villains being powerful enough to match canon characters is frowned upon? I don't get it. Why can't fan-made villains be powerful enough to fight a powerful canon character?
  10. Sometimes, I get really disappointed in pony OCs. I always see the same stuff. Same concept, 'race', color scheme, you name it. I can live with the overall design with OCs, but what really gets me the over abundance of Pegasi related characters... not to mention some of the inspiration is bound to come from the facts that Rainbow Dash is the most discussed pony in the fandom and also Fluttershy, who recently won the 'Best Pony' poll from The Hub. I just... really want to see originality and diversity in this fandom.
  11. UPDATE: The survey will be closing by the end of the month! Try to spread it around, the more people the better! Hey everypony! Thanks for clicking this topic, and I'm sure you're curious as to what could be in store after… Whelp! GUESS WHAT?! There's a survey going on right now on the web for "How has fandoms affected your life?" The survey is pretty short and to the point, and it's to help tally up the results of how positively fandoms affect our daily lives. If you're a brony like me, go ahead and put in your two bits. Don't be afraid to mention you're in other fandoms too, I mean I'm a true trekkie when it comes down to it. Here's a link to the survey~~ https://docs.google.com/…/1OXpMtwct7OnQRrVslxudlOY…/viewform The people running it are a non-profit organization called,"Manifold Creators Society". The organization was made to support fans from fandoms, and help to educate what fandoms are truly about. This survey, if we have enough people submitting to it, will prove that fandoms are overall very positive to be in. Please tell me what you think of it after you've clicked submit as I am one of the members that helped to create the survey. It's my first survey, too. Thanks again for reading, and I hope you're willing to help support the survey. Share it out to all your fandoms ;3
  12. After seeing a discussion on a MLP collector forum, I am curious. Do you like MLP but not consider yourself a brony? Why not? Personally, I consider myself a casual brony because I watch the show and some youtube videos, and have some G4 merch. But, first and foremost I'm a vintage toy collector with a preference for vintage MLP toys. Many in the (vintage) collector community don't consider themselves a brony at all.
  13. i'm only in two major fandoms, i guess. i'm in the my little pony fandom (obviously) and the homestuck fandom (obviously). i'm waaaaaay more into homestuck though, and is basically my main fandom, so yeah.i'm also kind of in the pokemon fandom, though it's a minor one, and i was a massive warriors cats fan, i joined a forum of it and stuff. and also i was in the adventure time one too, i forgot to add that.
  14. So what did you think of it all at first in regards to the show, fandom, and fan-made content? Overall I was like, "WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON WITH THIS AND WHY?!?! HOW/WHY IS IT SOMEHOW NOT COMPLETELY STUPID? WHY AM I WATCHING AND ACTUALLY LIKING THIS?! AM I GOING MENTAL?!" I didn't have any hate towards it or anything, I was just very confused at first. I first found out about MLP at the end of 2013 by looking up Tara Strong from a Powerpuff Girls parody she was in. Being 25, I hadn't really been watching cartoons for a while mainly because I think most of the new ones are just too stupid compared to the ones I liked from the mid 90's-early 00's.
  15. - I don't have a OC. Also feels pretty hard when you go artist skills at all. And would prob require some time effort nonetheless. - As written above, I simply can't create art. - I just recently joined Derpibooru and didn't visit it as often. I do fetch images on my discordserver with TwilightBot though. - I just joined the fandom ~10 months ago despite watching MLP since roughly Season 2 release. - I was never at any ponycon. - At least I met some bronies recently IRL. I hope we didn't loose contact again though. - I almost never visit ED except like 2 times a year. - I barely watched youtube videos (fanworks), but I started some months ago with this as well, subscribed some channels and now I got like 70 unseen videos there. - I don't have any merchandise.
  16. Now, I've been a brony since very near the beginning of the fandom. I've been shooting down threads like these since season four. Guess the horseshoe is on the other hoof now though. I've been thinking, what is next for us after season nine ends? Obviously sites like these won't just shut down but what about the content creators? Will bronies on Youtube like Dr. Wolf still make theory videos? Will the fanfic writers (like what I try to be) still make stories? Will the artists still make pictures of the Mane Six, and the musicians still make songs about Equestria? Will the conventions still be held especially now that Bronycon is shutting down? On the one hoof, I can look to those like Prince Whatever who not too recently wrote a beautiful anthem that the fandom isn't going anywhere and the staff at EQD even wrote a nice article about the core fandom remaining strong. On the other, IlikeKimPossibleAlot called the feeling of the show ending bittersweet and seemed bummed about it and I don't blame her and even DWK kind of jokingly looked forward to the show's ending like escaping a "candy coated nightmare". Which I don't think is a serious insult or slight because that's just his bit. I suppose I'm being kind of ridiculous, after all, many fandoms have outlived their shows ending. Hell the Browncoats made outliving their show a part of their culture. I suppose I'm half-venting and half asking, what are your feelings on the show coming to an end and how that will affect you as a brony?
  17. OK, I am sure something similar to this has already been posted but....here I go. I have found that the most effective way to weed out the bronys from the other crowd is to display something that is pony in public but yet in a discreet way. For instance, I changed my ringtone to a rock version of the mlpfim opening song. To the none brony it sounds simply like a rock song, but any brony would pick up in a second. Just curios to hear how other bronys try to weed out the bronys in a crowd?
  18. With the show nearing it's end I decided to really think about why I like the show and also the fandom again. Reasons I like the show: Ensemble cast. Developed relatable characters- Not creepy robots/shells of characters. (Think older MLP stuff ) Doesn't rely on stupidity to try and entertain. Talking quadruped animals (big part of cartoons/movies from my childhood) The Mane 6 are POST HIGH SCHOOL age (I actually think this is one of the BIG reasons for the fandom- but I don't see it discussed much) A lot of veteran crew who worked on shows I liked as a kid have worked on MLP Good writing, voice acting, and animation. Flash animation in particular- since I worked with it in school for a bit so I can recognize the extra effort in MLP's animation. A lot of other shows that use flash look pretty crappy in comparison. Reasons I like the fandom: Generally chill people CREATIVITY (Fan art/animation) People working on the show are involved Overall generally positive and fun So have you thought about such things recently? I'd like to know- so post below! Um, list format please... if that's OK with you
  19. is the mlp fandom part of the furry fandom? - Bronies don't wear fur suits - the mlp fandom is more strict on the persona races - mlp fandom has a core source (mlp:fim) to talk about as the furry fandom is more general - lots more my opinion: Bronies are NOT the same as furries
  20. This is what keeps me thinking all night and i just wanted to say this to get off my crest. To any of my watchers who are Ponies fans, that if you want to know about me, Is understanding why I dislike Sonic x MLP crossover?I not considering complaining or trolling, on the Sonic fandom or MLP should crossover.THIS is MY OWN Personal opinion how Sonic and MLP are NOTHING Alike!this is like comparing lettuces and cabbages. The point of this is to analyze similar characters and finding to tell theme apart of find their similarities and differences.Dispite, there are know horrible shippings or bad fanfictions those plots that cliché or predictable. The one thing I hated this crossover because of fans comparing Sonic characters with the Mane Six,Some fans believe that these characters personalities and traits are similar to Sonic and his friends and they are totally the same characters,I wanted to see actual differences of characters and the series are they are NOT the same. It's just the way I see this similarities is that the Mane Six seemly didn't seem to stood out as individual and completely original characters,as fanS speculate that these characters are inspired from Sonic characters. These are common similarities of these characters if as you know.......Sonic = Rainbow Dash: for having being cool blue characters who are fast.Amy = Pinkie Pie: For being the color pink or somewhat randomCream = Fluttershy: Shy, kind, timid personalitiesBlaze = Twilight: Purple color and both princesses.Shadow = Sunset: Well having backstories that getting along the main characters and consider Chaos Emeralds = The Elements: Plot devices that involves defeating villains.Mane Six have something unique about them.I really wanted to know there any differences at all!I heard that Sonic characters are known be bland or bad.I'm sorry, I just wanted to see if there's anything more Unique traits to or any characters developments of these Pony characters, or anyone looking a deeper analysis on their personalities.MLP show is to have some respective nature and good writing of these episodes than any Sonic cartoon. This show doesn't revolve these ponies fighting random villains all the time. This show seems to have maturely and major changes in this show.So what to you think that Sonic characters inspired the Mane SIX
  21. Is the fandom divided? Not something I can answer in a single post, something that needs a lot of discussion I think. I'll get the ball rolling with my overly depressing take on things. The R34, the terrible (yet praised) fan-fic the militant attitudes of some, and the downright creepiness of what I will call 'elite' bronies be it popular musicians/youtubers whatever the people who form a tight nit community within the brony community itself and then set there own rules. Just spend some time on YouTube and elsewhere eventually you'll see what I mean. I can deal with all that. What russles my jimmies however is the increasingly fractured state of the brony community. Forming into sub-groups based on drama and ultimately leading many to become simply more interested in being part of a 'counter-culture' than being a fan of what they are in the fandom for in the first place. Twilicorn, equestria girls. And the one that russled my jimmies was actually the brony documentary. 300,000 dollars to be part of and excuse my language here but there is no other way to express this: a massive circle jerk of the community in a completely biased and sycophant fashion, that has caused me to lose respect for everyone involved in production as well as some of the brony community. I have avoided all fan bases since Pokemon generation one when I was still a nieve kid myself. The utopia of the fandom has either been lost or it was never there in the first place. I sometimes wonder if having found the show in total isolation of the fandom would have been better. Perhaps there is hope. To me the finding of the show itself merely a year ago was a small light in a very dark world. Well now that I've cheered everyone up. I'll end this post
  22. Finished: Open Development, with at least some hours of gameplay and stable: RPGs: Ashes of Equestria: Harmony Eclipsed: Ponyvania: SNES game hacks:I will not provide any links to patched or unpatched ROM. You have to find and search yourself. Filly Fantasy VI: Super Pony All Stars Closed Development My Little Pony: The Game Status Unknown: Smaller games are listed here: https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/VideoGame/OtherFriendshipIsMagicFanGames Demos: Equestrian Tales Finished: RPG: MLP RPG1 - The Elements of Harmony MLP RPG2: Cutie Mark Crusader Warriors Flash Player: Ejected from the list (likely to age and/or quality reasons) - Game warnings/Games to avoid: War of Harmony IV MLP RPGMaker game, also avail in Chinese and Russian. Reasons for removing from the lists: Gore & brutality, descriptions of how fillies were beaten, pony homicides incl. shown on screen with blood, and a description from something so much worse I will not share it here with anyone but staff. Apples, Apples Everwhere! & FlutterIsland 1/2 Reasons for removing from the lists: Close to the previous one, meant as a "horror game", this game features pony dieing brutally randomly on screen or finding very bloody remnants of these. Template: Ratings explained & template: Edit: After a short research, the age rating of the US seems to be rather...different than Germany's and I am not sure I will stick to them.
  23. It's a question commonly asked. But how do you think the fandom will be like after G4 ends? I think the fandom will still hold up together but might shrink a little bit. (This is also a thing all fandoms have in common) but will the fandom last forever?
  24. Bon Bon deserves a fan page!!!! Please make her popular
  25. It's always been a source of personal interest when joining new forums, seeing veteran members with many posts and others who've been around for a more moderate time with a more moderate amount of posts. Do you bronies participate greatly in other fandoms such as this one, meaning you attend cons, post enthusiastically about specific characters and never tire of it, are they a part of your identity if you were to ask what is? We all have others things we're fans of but what else do you go hard for. As in, intensely, not.. Ahum. And are ponies your number one or? Tell tell. For me, am pretty casual as far as bronies go. Never get high post counts in forums (Though my first was most like a home. This place like that for anyone?) but have been very active in other fandoms as far as their place in my heart goes as well as time spent on them and time interacting with other fans. Bronies seem so very nice, though.
