  1. How do men and women romantically bond with each other? THESE ARE THINGS I HAVE READ ONLINE: I heard that women can build incredible friendships and become very close to each other in a way men can't bond, and I heard that science shows that women can bond very well with each other. I heard that generally, women are even more social than men are. After something bad happens, a woman quickly rushes to talk to all of her female friends to get support, whereas a male can isolate himself and grief alone. I also heard that women tend to be more emotional, more caring, more empathic, more compassionate, more affectionate, more loyal, more sympathetic, more sensitive, more kind hearted, more peaceful, more calmer, more gentle, more expressive, and more outward than men are, and thus bond more with other women in a special way that they can’t with men. Men, on the other hand, are not that emotional, and thus can’t bond with other men in a special way. I also heard that women are more comfortable being around with other women than they are with men. They have a type of bond that usually men with women won’t really have, or with men and men. I also heard that women are very unique creatures, and women feel a lot safer in general with other women than they do with men if either is alone with each other, and it is easier for women to trust other women more than it is to trust a man. I also heard that women are very sociable with each other, so if something goes wrong, they like to speak about it to each other. This is a way to develop trust among women. Women often relate their problems with other women, which makes them feel more connected in a way. I also heard that most daughters have a very strong bond with their mother, while they don’t have one with their father, and most sons don’t have that strong of a bond with neither their mother nor their father. I also heard that most females have a very strong bond with their sisters, while they don’t have one with their brothers, and most males don’t have that strong of a bond with neither their sisters nor their brothers. I also heard that the bond that two females have with each other is the strongest bond of them all, and that's one of the reasons why sayings like “girls always have to stick together” exist. And I also heard that the friendship of males and females can hardly be as good as a female to a female relationship from a woman’s point of view. So if those things are true (which I am not sure at all), then how can a man and woman have a special strong type of bond with each other if women have a special strong type of bond with each other while men don’t have one with each other? Also, men and women are both mentally and physically different from each other (which is true), but would that at all effect the bonding between a male and female?
  2. I couldn't find a topic like this, so I made one I'm actually non-binary, so I was wondering: is there anyone else here like me? If you have suggestions for poll choices, please let me know! EDIT: I put boy/girl and transgender boy/girl as separate options simply because I want to know if there are other LGBT people here...
  3. Ok, so there have been many instances (be it on the forums or on YouTube) where girls don't like being called Pegasisters. Can anyone tell me why some prefer to be called just a brony, or female brony? There have been some instances where they get very stressy about being called a Pegasister.
  4. Who do you think is the most adorable female character in western animation? Aside from the obvious choices (Fluttershy and Bubbles), my 3rd choice would be Jenny "XJ9" From My Life as a Teenage Robot. Watching this show as a kid, I always wondered what separated Jenny from the common teenage girl characters. Maybe it was her uniquely cute design, maybe it was her combination of teenage interests and child-like innocence, or maybe it was her voice actress Janice Kawaye. It's probably a combination of all 3.
  5. Okay, I'll try not to judge. It's just that there are so many horrible.... augh... no..... tolerate! Love! Okay! Here's my take on good female singers. 5. Basia Bulat 4. Tori Amos 3. Buffy Ste. Marie 2. Joni Mitchell 1. Ann Wilson Here is Ann Wilson singing Stairway for Led Zeppelin with her sister Nancy and making them cry from sheer awesomeness. WARNING: You may cry as well. I did. Nobody does Led Zeppelin like Heart, except maybe Led Zeppelin... on a good night Have some more! I love those girls so much, I just can't even...
  6. I hope this clear the air
  7. So I tend to listen to a lot of Celtic music off hand and like to write or make things and one my fav bands is Clanned. They are just a wonder to do something creative too and the idea of from the lyrics of this song made me think of this young girl in the ocean just sitting while fish swim by and flowers dance in the currents. Mostly used pangs and had to retouch up some texture with some soft lighting effects in the background and on the girl with her make to you. Mostly it was playing around with the threshold of the layers and the layout work in how they looked. Music: Pngs: Girl: Fish: Fish: Flower: Flower: Texture
  8. Few Bronies actually like Brad Flash Sentry. He seems like a very contrived figure made to be a romantic interest and only a romantic interest, having zero personality or redeeming qualities about him outside of his stereotypical cool guy trope. But. How would we all have felt if back in 2013, Twilight kept bumping into, and appearing to have the hots for, a female Flash Sentry? First off, how would the fan base react to an eluded to female on female mutual attraction, (TV-G rating aside)? And second, would Flash being female make her a more accepted character? And would her flaws be overlooked in light of one of very few homosexual relationships, or even hints of one, in a kids movie?
  9. This is Shaymii, a character that has actually been on the backburner for nearly two years. She is my favorite Pokemon, Shaymin. She is 19 years old and a very kind and loving girl. She only gets mean if you attack her friends and other loved ones in anyway. Other than that, she is sweet, and a little shy. Sometimes super hyper and happy. She will continue to change with time. This is just her beginning. :grin2: This is her Sky Forme. This is a start up for Shaymii in her land form. Obviously some mistakes were made. Neck was too long and some details such as the feet could have been better. But its a start. ^~^ ( Third Edit )
  10. A recent challenge I was given, honestly meant to be a rough draft, but I liked it so much that I decided to put it up. This is my first ever dragon, and I know there are mistakes, but my friend who asked for a dragon commission, and who I think is actually on here and following me, says that for a first try, it was not bad. I am new to claws and paws as well, so even this was difficult for me. I draw ponies and foxes and other creatures. Lol. This particular dragon is a female who is built for speed on land and can do just as well in water. Scales are placed on certain sections of the body to streamline her and aide in this. On her hind paws she has Talons which Jut out from just above her souls. Her horns adorn her head like a crown as a sign of non-submissiveness to other males. :grin2:
  11. I was just thinking about this as I was looking at pictures of the Manehattan and Whinnyapolis delegates from Princess Spike. I noticed that the former barely has any pictures of him on Derpibooru, while the latter really has something going for her in the fandom. This support even seems to extend to other ponies like Berry Punch, Tree Hugger, and Octavia, who seems to be much more popular than her stallion bandmates. Is this just me, or does anyone else seem to think that female characters are much more likely to become Ensemble Darkhorses than male characters? If so, why do you think this is?
  12. Who is the mosy attractive animated villain in your opinion? Here are some of my favorites: Thrax: Ferid: Giriko: Starlight Glimmer:
  13. So... what pony do you think looks best as it's opposite gender? Well, my opinion is Princess Molestia(yeah, molestia) Look at this LOOK
  14. It bothers me how so many of the female characters in action movies and stuff are like the same. The character is a attractive young adult, usually white woman, but the appearance isn't what really bugs me. It's the personality. They are often insensitive, confident, bold, "bad", flirty, athletic, "cool", etc, and act uninterested but fall in love with lead male. It's tiring. Where are the awkward, nerdy girls? Where's the emotional, artsy, unconfident girl who works to gain confidence? Where's the strategic girl who hates battle and tries to find better, more clever ways? Anyone else feel similarly about it?
  15. So, at my school, there's a concert where people can sing on their own or in groups and sing whatever they want and a friend of mine and me wanted to sing a duet but we can't find any good female only duets. I'm mostly looking for songs from musicals. Any ideas?
  16. I did a similar topic for cartoons, now lets do it for video games. Who do you think is the most adorable female video game character? I recently stumbled upon this trio from a PS2 game called Unison from Tecmo.
  17. When a female character is the main protagonist of a video game, it tends to be the grown, adult woman type like Lara Croft or Bayonetta. But what if there was a female protagonist in a game who wasn't like that? Like a zany, bubbly girl who follows her own logic, and is naive, quirky, random, and optimistic. Someone who's like Pinkie Pie or Mabel Pines only isn't. Can a character like this work in a game?
  18. Before I ask my questions, I want to state that due to recent events like GamerGate, the community I am a part of has been labeled with words like "sexist" due to some vocal people's responses and actions. Groups like the mainstream media seem to believe that we don't want to have main female characters that are well represented in video games. Honestly, I find this notion irritating since I am one of those not opposed to this at all. I am a male gamer who is perfectly okay with games having a female protagonist and is willing to see more games that are like this, including ones where she has positive character traits, and may not even be sexualized at all. I really don't have an issue if a trend starts where more games are made like this. Do you feel the same way and are completely fine with more female protagonists in gaming? Any personal favorites you want to discuss? Also, I am more interested in what the guys say since I hear the same thing so often about how we want to keep things as a "boys club", which I really can't stand.
  19. Resubmitting this because I changed some things ----------------------- Age: 19 Gender: Female Species: Earth Pony Cutie Mark: Double Stitch's cutie mark is a heart with a sewing pin sewn onto their flank. Personality: Double Stitch is, in general, a nice pony. Quiet yes, but nice. She is happy to make friends with others that accept her difference. D.S. tends to have a low tolerance for rude behavior. If someone shows themselves to be unkind or intolerant of others, she will permanently shut them out of her life. Feminist | Kind | Caring | Easily tempered | Creative | Lazy | Quiet | Calm | Grumpy sometimes | Shy Backstory: At some point in her life, Double Stitch was a regular earth pony. Her parents were both toy makers living in Canterlot, producing all sorts of toys for the young fillies and colts that lived in the city. When she was young, her mother made a small plush pony for her, which she treasured dearly; it went everywhere with her. Nothing in the world meant as much to her as that plush. She would fix it whenever it tore, have her mother replace the eyes if they fell off, and re-stuff it whenever it lost its fluff. This continued for a very long time. Often she was teased for carrying a doll around with her everywhere, and it came to the point where she was harassed by a group of unicorns for it every so often. During one of these occasions, double stitch decided to stand up for herself, engaging in an argument with an older unicorn mare about how it was wrong for her to treat others cruelly. Taken aback by being stood up to, the older mare was furious. In a burst of rage she let loose a bolt of magic, originally intended to destroy the doll. That was not what happened. The doll was somehow fused with Double Stitch herself, rendering her a plush. The group, mortified by what had happened, took off and left D.S. alone. She was terrified. No pony was like her now, she was no longer the normal earth pony she was born as. Knowing this, she fled the city. She had realized that she would never be able to see her family again, but it was better than putting them through the shock of seeing what had happened. She took up residence in a small house surrounded by trees near the edge of ponyville. Other: What a grump
  20. Being a female myself, i'm used to seeing media with a male dominated cast with very few developed female characters. I know there are tons of female shows with females who dominate the cast, but I was never into female oriented shows because they always focused on stereotypical female problems like romance and stupid drama surrounding romance or love and not much else. So all the shows i've been drawn too have just been male oreinted shows. Even the best shows I watched sometimes had the same problem with female characters, not giving them a prominent role in the show or going back to the stereotypical female traits such as romance or fashion. Mlp is one of the only female targeted shows that has done female characters well. Which is kinda ironic because its a kids show and the writing for the female characters is often more complex than that of adult shows! The characters are not one dimensional and plots don't revolve around romance (besides rarity) or fashion (again, mostly rarity) but even then it isn't done in a stereotypical manner. This is what I love about this show. They don't have to fall into stereotypical gender norms in order to get viewers. What do you guys think about mlp's representation of female characters compared to other shows? And why aren't more shows trying to make well roumded female characters like mlp?
  21. They seem to have a problem with grown men through their teens-adult, making immature comments and whatnot. Have you ever seen an incident where any of them has had a problem with female bronies watching the show through their teens-adulthood? If not, do you think so?
  22. Do you know her? This is her: (Yes this is Wolfie Redheart do you know her?) Wolfie Redheart was me when i was 13 to 14 and turning 15 year's old but i quited the whole teen werewolf thing when i was 15 year's old still but i was still a teen werewolf a little bit when i turned 15 year's old and yes i was stupid when i was a young teen but i got smarter when i was more 15 year's old and 15 in a half year's old and i turned 16 year's old on october 23 2013.My hair is no longer long and i have changed and i am no longer that Wolfie Redheart and i can't reach my old account's anymore since the passwords are gone and i could no longer reach my old email since they took the secret question's thing out and the papper with my passwords and email's some of them are torn being steped on by my famlies dog Millie Mo.
  23. I'm just curious to see what people think. Here is a recent photo of me. By the way, I'm not telling you guys what my actual physical gender is. See, I consider myself to be a neutral-gendered or omnigendered individual. I do not identify as the gender I was born with, but I also don't fully identify as the opposite gender either. When I draw myself as a character, the gender I use varies. Even my bronysonas are different genders, but... not quite the stereotypes of their genders. (Rainshine is a mare with a squared muzzle and no eyelashes; Pudú is a tiny, fluffy buck.) Anyway, I often watch people on the Internet get into arguments over my gender, and I don't like when that happens, but I would like to know what general percentage of people generally view me as male or female. It's interesting. Please do not post any insulting or offensive comments in this topic, either directed toward me, to one another, or to anyone or any group of people in general. Thank you. (**clarification: When I say "insulting or offensive," I mean like hating on people with different gender identities. I am not going to be offended by your opinion of what I look like, but I don't want to be told what I have to be or that what I am is wrong. Guys, please stop apologizing for giving me what I asked for! xP)
  24. I was just thinking of putting a list together of how many female vocaists we have in the community especially since we have a show with female characters and an artist fanbase that's overwhelmingly male. So not a LOT of them despite a huge demand for their talents in collabs. 25. This is going to seem like a weird thread, and potentially a duplicate, but I really wanted to make a poll on this so just hear me out. I want to know if there is a significant difference between males and females who watched Equestria Girls. I have engaged in a lot of different conversations about Flash Sentry and why people may or may not like him. I mainly want to know if there is a difference between the opinion of men and the opinion of women about him. Hence the poll. I ask because I am getting the feeling that more females like Flash Sentry than males. I want to know if that is actually the case. So if you are going to vote in the poll, please feel free to post in here letting us know what you voted for and why.
