Gaming Any Sonic the Hedgehog fans?

I've been a Sonic fan for 10 years and I'll never stop loving the series or the Blue Blur himself. He's my favorite character in anything ever and my idol. And I know Rainbow Dash is pretty fast and super awesome, but I'll always believe Sonic is the Best!
  2. My current setup: Hitachi CRT TV with component, s-video, and composite inputs Sega Genesis/CD - RGB SCART to Component conversion. I found the picture quality boost to be worth it. Much better than composite. RetroN2 - S-video and composite (for NES part) Playstation 2 - Component (temporarily using composite cable, since my component cable died) Overall, I really like how the games look on a CRT tv. I've tried these consoles on modern LCD's but didn't like the look and motion blur. Anyone else use these older TV's for classic game consoles?
  3. card games and video games rule but are often divded this sub forum is for people who do both or 1 or the other

  5. Good news! Nintendo is getting rid of their Creators Program and being more reasonable with people putting their content on YouTube. https://www.nintendo.co.jp/networkservice_guideline/en/index.html?n What are your thoughts?
  6. I'm sure this thread has been posted multiple times, but I figured to give it a new kick start! Anypony here play MTG? What kinds of formats do you like to play? What's your favorite color (or color combination) to play? As for me, I like Commander, and my favorite color combo is UWR, or Jeskai/America. Hoping to chat Magic with anyone here!

    Gaming Worst Games Ever Played

Title speaks for itself. I'm really curious to hear your opinions and stories about the worst games you ever played in past or in the present. To keep things a little bit more interesting, I'm gonna talk about the games we played ourselves and not just the usual garbage like E.t. for the 2600 or Big Rigs. I mean the games we thought were good but left a bad taste in my mouth. Here's an example. Nicktoons: Battle for Volcano Island I rent it from my cousin years ago because I always wanted to play as Timmy Turner (as a huge fan of The Fairly OddParents back in its prime) but what I got was a short and shoddy platformer with a very thin and uninteresting plot, characters acting the same with very little gimmicks to make them unique, boring bosses (with the final boss being a copy-and-paste of the first one) and not playing the characters you want like this crossover is supposed to. I get to play as Timmy once in the game and Spongebob/Danny Phantom in the rest. Overall, a generally boring and plain game with a well-intended premise executed poorly.

Gaming What was your first steam game?

My first steam game was Garry's Mod. It was also the first multiplayer game I've ever played on PC. Literally first time I've played with actual people! It was one of the greatest experiences I've ever had! But Steam has been around with us for a very long time and I'm curious. I wanted to know from you guys what was your first steam game! What was your experience with your first game like? Did you had fun with it?
  9. I was wonder if I can post blogs like shooter, adventure, strategy, fighting, horror, or any other genre? ( without the nudity of course )
  10. I have gotten back into Fallout 4...and have been modding my game extensively (135 mods and counting) I recently came across a few mods that add a Pony race to the game....I've been playing the game as Fluttershy. The past few days though, I've stumbled upon a couple new MLP companion mods. So, I'd figured I'd post a topic about it and share these mods. These ponies also have facial expressions, blinking eyes, moving mouths..and even ears and wings that'll react to dialogue during convos. Note: I'm using a couple of Eli's outfits from the Fallout Nexus in these screenshots as well as CBBE. FIrst: Black Jack, from Fallout: Equestria....She's NOT a standalone companion, she's a retexture of Cait (whom can be found in "Combat Zone" Near the beginning of the Freedom Trail) Overall a pretty well done re-texture.I've had no issues using her as a companion. http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/19340/? Second: Little Pip, another one from Fallout: Equestria. She is a standalone companion, meaning she will not replace any of the vanilla companions like Black Jack does. She,however, is still a WIP, but the mod Author has made her available to download and use as a companion. She doesn't have any audible dialogue but she does however have subtitles. Her interaction menu are mostly placeholders atm...but she can be used as a follower if you wish. http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/19461/? If you intend to use the above companions, you'll require the mods listed below to make these work (and if you wanna turn your own character into a pony)Be sure they're in the proper load order as well, if they're not, your character/companion may become invisible or have other odd effects. Race Customizer: http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/15212/? (CaN) Crimes Against Nature http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/19040/?
  11. ...I'm mostly doing this for my Informatics assignment, to be perfectly honest . Role-Playing games (RPGs) tend to have a large amount of information and dialogue in them. They help build the game's world and can make the experience more enjoyable. Because of the amount of different words and phrases utilised, they may be able to help improve one's vocabulary and reading comprehension. Have they managed improve yours to any degree? As for me, RPGs have helped me out a fair bit. My vocabulary and reading comprehension used to be behind most kids my age, until I started playing RPGs such as Pokemon and Paper Mario. It wasn't an instant spike in skill, but as time passed and more hours were played, my vocabulary saw some substantial improvement and so did my reading ability. Writing stories is one of my hidden passions and I doubt that would remain, had my reading ability didn't improve.

    Gaming Aliens, Predators or Marines?

In any AvP game, which species do you play the best?
  13. People typically have a few games that they enjoy a lot, but I was curious if anyone had one which they enjoy so much, they would play it for the rest of their life. Would only being able to play one game get boring? Probably. But if there was only one that you could play for the rest of your life, what would it be? (You can include a compilation, if you want.) For me, I'd say any of the main Pokemon games - Particularly Pokemon Ruby or Pokemon Platinum. There's just so many things to do, even after the main quest is completed. This in turn makes the experience all the more interesting and enjoyable to replay.
  14. If you've played any, what's your all-time favorite TLoZ game? I assume most of you will say Ocarina of Time, which is fine, because it's my favorite too :3 Although A Link To The Past is a close second. Edit: the reason why OoT is my fave, mostly because of nostalgia, and the fact that every other Zelda game I played didn't match up to it, for me anyways, obviously from an objective stand point they've gotten better, but I just like OoT more. Likewise for A Link To The Past. So, uh, what is your favorite?

    Gaming Game Theory ARG Discussion

If any of you looking at this is working on the Game Theory ARG (thetheoristgateway.com) and need help on one or more of the keys, I am happy to help. If you want to know what I'm talking about, popular youtuber Game theory hid several clues in some of his videos, and it's up to you to solve his puzzle. I will also give a link to the video that announced it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qn2XVQ4XXPY . You get this clue after beating Gate 1. Surely some of it means something. You also get this, but I don't think it has any meaning. Well, it's not hex code. I put the code at the bottom into a translator and got nothing.
  16. For me, it was Skyward Sword. What about you guys?

    Gaming Longest Gaming Drought

I took about a 6 year hiatus from gaming during and after college. Life got incredibly busy and stressful as I was working my way thru college and establishing a career. I returned to casually playing video games a few years ago after things settled down. I still don't play near as much as I did as a teenager, tho. Anybody else go thru a long period of time without touching a video game?
  18. We've all been there. When we were younger, we had a level that no matter how hard we tried, we just kept dying on, and then we got so frustrated, we quit. Well, what was yours? Mine was Allegro Presto in the first Rayman game.

    Gaming Favorite Classic Video game?

So, what is everyponies favorite classic games? As in the older consoles/handhelds such as, NES, SNES, N64 PS1, PS2, gameboy etc. I'll start. My most favorite classic game series was Final Fantasy. I enjoyed playing through them. Especially FFVI. Which is cool that they ported it to steam not to long ago. So I have gotten it again. Out of handhelds, I really enjoyed playing Pokemon back in the day on Gameboy Color. Favroite was Crystal. ^^ So, whats your favorite classic games?
  20. Video games, I'm pretty sure everyone that's reading this has played at least one video game in their lifetime, but the big question is...What are your favourite video games of all time? My all-time favourite video game is The Last Of Us because it truly is a masterpiece!
  21. Almost every gamer has at least one of these games. Those games where we started it, get through it to a certain point and then....we never actually finish it. Don't you hate that? I sure dd, because I do it waaaay too much. XD There are so many games I have started but never actually finished for whatever. Could be the game was incredibly long, other games took my time or I just sorta forgot and couldn't get back into it. Let's delve in this topic. What are some games that you have started before but never completed? I have some sad candidates. Most Final Fantasy games, I never complete. I have started so many before in my life and never finished them. I think it is because I will take a break and then just be lost on what I am doing and lose motivation. This goes for most RPG's. Only FF game I have finished. Friggin 13-2. Yeah, I know, sad. Also most Zelda games. I have only ever finished Ocarina of Time. I have started so many others in the series but just never completed them.
  22. Alright, I did a little digging and it appears no one has done this. Alright so it's exactly what it sounds like, what was your first console. I'm going to include the next generation for obvious reasons. In all honesty, my first console was the Wii, sad I know since I'm 19. My parents never let us have consoles until one day they decided to get a Wii, a few months after it was released. After that, we, my brother and I, bought a PS2, taking baby steps, sold that after a while and then finally purchased a Xbox 360. He went to college, I paid him off on the 360, so now it is all mine. He owns a PS3 now.
  23. Now that the Next Generation Consoles are out, I look back at the awesome games of the past... I personally love my N64, and my favourite games are tied between Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask... I want to know what you people think.

Gaming Old games you want to see get fixed

We all like certain games for a number of reasons, but some of them probably have certain flaws you don't like. If you could have these games re-released with all these issues fixed, what games would they be? It doesn't matter how old they are. Gonna start this with.... 1. Anarchy Reigns- I love arena-fighters, and I really thought there was no way this could possibly disappoint me. I was terribly wrong. Whose idea was it at Platinum to include a block function? Because when you went online, that's all anybody ever fucking did. I'm not joking. They'd just stand still and block, so that they could wear you down and attack as soon as you turned your back to them. I rarely ever got more than one kill in any online match. That's how badly the game favored defense. If you tried being aggressive towards anybody who wasn't facing you, you got your ass kicked. The online co-op modes were fun, but that's really the only thing that made it worth playing. And I'll never understand why Platinum didn't try to improve the game by just releasing a patch that removed blocking altogether? Because what's the point in moving around in full 3D environments if you're not even free to attack? Blocking has no place in this kind of game. 2. Alien vs. Predator (2010)- This game felt perfect on my first playthrough. The single-player campaign did a good job at getting you accustomed to the mechanics, maps, and weapons. But all that went to shit with the online play. And not even for any inherent flaws in the gameplay, but the matchmaking. Of ALL things. I couldn't open a Mixed Species Deathmatch lobby without getting messages from assholes telling me to start the match. And even if I actually got to start the match with all 18 slots filled, people would gradually drop out of the game, and I wouldn't know it until it was just down to me and one other guy, and I'd be running in circles trying to find somebody to kill. Not fun. I don't know how Rebellion could have mitigated this problem. I just know that people don't have to put up with this crap in other FPSs that are still played competitively. A different lobby system perhaps? 3. WWF Wrestlemania: The Arcade Game- It's a good thing this game never had a tournament following, because I would have gone to each event, picked Doink and STOLE all that fucking prize money. Getting to play famous pro-wrestlers in an environment where they had special powers was such a novelty concept, but it got bogged down by shoddy execution. Or should I say lack thereof? The special moves, while varied enough, just weren't tested very well. I've never seen anything more OP in a game than Doink's hammer or Lex Luger's mace. If you got hit by either of those, you weren't getting back up. If I was feeling generous, I could throw somebody outside the ring just so they could last a bit longer. That is, until I threw them against the side of the ring and, before they could recover from hitstun, I'd kill them by repeatedly ramming my knee up their ass in an unending juggle combo. I found a ton of glitches in the Genesis version too, and sure enough, they were present in the arcade version. Not the least of which was running backwards for no reason. And I was only ten years old when I discovered all this shit. It was ridiculous. I don't care for Mortal Kombat anymore, but I know that Midway/NRS took their time making sure that MK2 and Ultimate MK3 weren't riddled with game-breaking glitches, and horrible balancing in the cast. People are still playing them in tournaments to this day. So why couldn't the devs put the same care into Wrestlemania?
  25. Another year is coming to its dramatic close. The ground is shaking, fire is falling from the sky and dogs are tap dancing on the moon. Okay, maybe not that dramatic, but it has been an interesting year for games. Lot's of new releases, and quite a few highly acclaimed ones. As with each year and its gaming releases, everyone has their personal favorites in that year. Let's dive into a positive gaming topic and discuss all of our favorite releases in 2017. I think my favorite games of this year are Forza 7 and Killing Floor 2, both for Xbox One. Both had some rough launches, but now they are patched up and working gloriously. Forza 7 is endless fun and I have already fully completed the career mode. Now I love doing multi class races in Free Play and it just a joy to play. Killing Floor 2 finally made its Xbox One debut this year and while it had a very rough start with crashes and other issues, it is now working well and is one of the most fun FPS games I have ever played. It is extremely mindless, but a blast.
