Essentialy what the title says xD APPLEJACK IS JUDGING YOU THOUGH

If the internet has given us one thing, it's given us the power of anonymity: the ability to be lying deadbeats amd brain-dead morons without fear of consequence. But I know that not everyone is like that: there are intelligent people one the internet, you just have to be hard-pressed to find them. But how honest are you truly on the internet? And however honest you are the internet, does that reflect how honest you are in real life? For myself, I feel like on here specifically, I feel more honest than in real life. Slightly. If I ever get asked a personal question, I try to answer as honestly as I can. I won't give out exactly where I live for reasons. I have been more open since joining this site, but if I meet some random stranger, I'm not going to give him my life story. Even on here, there's some stuff I've rather not say about myself unless if it's necessary or if I've known the person a good amount of time.

I'm making this thread for important reasons. It technically doesn't qualify for the Life Advice thing so I'm posting it here. WELCOME TO THE "I admit it" THREAD!!! Here, we admit things to not only each other... but to ourselves as well. It's like the confession thread only MUCH deeper than that. In this thread we admit our flaws, our mistakes, our deepest fears and other things. This thread is about opening up out of that rusty shell! There are some rules however so don't get started just yet. Please consider the following rules before posting Ok! Now, lets start this off with me admitting stuff first! I admit it, I'm not a perfectly confident person. I have a LOT of insecurities that I need help with... and that is ok. I admit that I try to hide it all the time which sometimes makes me lie a little about my true feelings. I admit it, I am not a superstar at being confident. I admit it, I get angry. Not as much as I used to but still, I DO get mad. I take things to heart and I need to learn to let certain things go. I admit that the feeling of anger is within me and is real. I admit it, I love making others happy more than making myself happy. I feel selfish when doing something for myself and I admit that it needs to change. I admit that I overly give.

Just re-watched that episode and this really bothered me - Applejack represents the element of honesty and is so well-known for that trait. Sometimes she's honest to the point where she gets in trouble for it ("Honest Apple"), the whole plot of "Where The Apple Lies" is discouraging Apple Bloom from being insincere. Don't get me wrong, the episode is awesome, but I don't understand why such a character would suddenly take up an attitude that is the exact opposite to what she stands for. Specifically, I am referring to the scene in which she attempts to convince Pinkie that construction is underway in the barn. I know it was for the greater good, and she was doing it to hide the fact that the others of the Mane Six were planning a surprise party for Pinkie Pie, but still. What is everyone's thoughts...?

I only watched this episode after Canada released it, and I haven't budged. This episode is an effin' mess. The characterization is really poor, starting with Rarity: Rarity is a strong and intelligent businesswoman. Remember, she runs and owns three fashion boutiques: Canterlot, Manehattan, and Ponyville. An in-character Rarity would not only understand what she's doing, but also preplan everything before setting it forward. So, why would Rarity plan the fashion show before all three judges signed on to this contest? This type of act comes across as someone who doesn't know what she'd doing? Speaking of not know what she's doing, it's still contrived to choose Applejack out of thin air. She claims it's because she understands practicality/functionality better than the others. But Applejack doesn't have any fashion sense; her only vision of fashion is if it's good enough to wear. Kinda ironic considering Faust's original pony design of her had her wear plenty of clothes. (Speaking of which, Apple Bloom's tied-down hat is so stupid. Given her history of watching Applejack buck those apples, she oughta know that it wouldn't work. Wait, if that didn't happen, the plot would probably fall apart, and DHX would have to come up with a cleverer way to approach it.) On top of that, she didn't give AJ any chance to study practicality or warn her to study the clothing's quality. She agreed to take part, and the contest begins the next day. This lack of advanced planning and studying makes Rarity look really incompetent. As if she has no idea what she's doing. That's not her. Also, it makes no sense for Rarity to understand how crucial functionality works. (She wouldn't be okay with the disco ball dress; the costume looks really uncomfortable to wear and walk in.) Yes, fashion is treated more as an ancillary possession rather than a mandate, but functionality. Episodes like Suited for Success, ACW, Suite & Elite, Boutique, and Rarity Investigates! show how much she gets it. For her to not comprehend it degrades her character. Two of the three fashion designers sound like complete caricatures. Inky Rose was fine. Starstreak is over the top with his obsession with futuristic trends. But Lily Lace… *plugs my ears* Stereotypes are a complete bane in this show; Lily Lace is the valley girl stereotype. Her literally obnoxious drawl and voice don't work as a joke, because her valley girl accent IS the joke. You need some context behind it. If not, your joke is shallow and, thus, becomes cringeworthy. Her voice is faker than Shadow the Hedgehog. Even though Coco Pommel wasn't seen in the episode, she, too, is out of character. That disco ball costume makes no sense in any way, including practicality/functionality. Rarity put her in charge of the Manehattan boutique because of her strong creativity and fashion sense. The disco ball doesn't feel like work she'd do with a straight muzzle. Applejack…what the hell happened to her?! Despite Rarity not providing much sense with Applejack being a judge, one thing she understands about her friend is how she can be honest while simultaneously caring about other pony's work and feelings. Her initial comment sharply criticizing Coco Pommel's disco ball dress makes sense, because it's absolutely absurd. Afterwards, her characterization goes completely down the toilet. She bashed Inky Rose's dress for being too black, because it's completely depressing. If she criticized her choice of color because the pony within it would get really sweaty, then it'd make sense. Then he bashes Inky Rose's dress because she intentionally put holes in her fabric as she's making them. Lots of clothing intentionally has holes. Her manufacturer wouldn't be able to make her favorite cowcolt hat without one. Then she bashed Lily Lace's original draft of her dress because it could get dirty. As for her worst moment, where she destroys Lace's feather stitching on her hat, let me initial comments describe it: WHAT THE FUCK?!!!!!! Lily worked OVERNIGHT to stylize that damn hat from a bland, white piece of fabric to an interesting, complex piece of design. And in a few seconds, all that hard work gone! That's not being Honestyjack anymore. That's being an asshole! Applejack may not have the best manners or most polite language, but why the hell would she want to DESTROY someone's hard work?! I don't care what reason she has. This isn't Applejack. It's a complete bastardization of her! Excuse me while I go get Advil… On second thought, give me some fried Applejack to go on a bagel. An in-character and likeable Applejack would understand how important their hard work is and respond accordingly. She understands tact. She's NOT abusive! Her decision to destroy Lily's hat and be proud of it is by far her worst moment of the entire series. And on top of that, she stereotypes the art of fashion as pointless and useless. HELLOOOOOO!!! Applejack understands how important fashion is to Rarity, Coco, and many others. Even though she can't critically study fashion and color theory to save her life, she knows others can and listens to them. If she truly respected Rarity (on top of that damn hat), she'd give fashion a long, critical introspective why it's so important to Rarity, Coco, and many others. Look at episodes prior, and look at how much the Mane Eight (then Mane Six) grew. Both AJ and Rarity understand each other and respect each other. AJ, fuck your opinion! Remember what I wrote about Sunrise's argument with AJ? I still stand by that. Applejackass needed to be shown and told directly to her face that she was being abusive, because she was too stupid to figure out the lesson ahead of time. On the other hand, is the way it's handled really necessary, particularly for a show that's supposed to teach valuable lessons (of friendship) to impressionable kids? Absolutely not. When Friendship Is Magic gets really good, it creates a welcoming, uplifting atmosphere. Each of the Mane Eight are welcoming characters who are supposed to be role models to children. Episodes like Lost Mark are really, really amazing, because they shoot up. The audience is treated as intelligent beings. They could've done a "Turnabout Is Fair Play" scenario, but they don't. The Cutie Mark Crusaders care about Diamond Tiara's well being and want to help her. Their actions mark a complete sense of maturity beyond nearly everyone's years. Their ability to be selfless and care about their nemesis, especially when she's at her lowest point, is crucial for this show. The way this scene is completely written shows Rarity at her worst. Rather than show her how her words affected her and tell her through her pain how hurtful AJ's words are, she thought it was a good idea to play "eye for an eye," as if she wanted to get back at her. FIM is well above teaching lessons through pure spite. When they try this shit, the episode's quality hurts. It also really hurts when Strawberry Sunrise is an unlikeable bitch herself. @Ganondox pinpointed the problem — Sunrise accused apple farmers like Applejack of selling apples to either intentionally poison her or rip her off. That's really cruel, and by how coolly Rarity reacts to the argument and Sunrise's vile stereotypes of apples, she knows this. That puts Rarity as part of the problem, even though the episode completely portrays her here (and the rest of the episode) as completely in the right. Rather than playing their best off each other, Rarity and AJ act like they can't stand each other. Their terrible approach to friendship here further accredits Rarity's and AJ's backstabbing each other in PPOV. The only way for this plot to work is by disregarding blatant continuity. This episode as presented only works if you disregard episodes such as Suited for Success, ACW, and their sense of maturity leading up to this point. Season seven is not the time for Applejackass to finally learn a lesson about tact. If she didn't know at the time, then why the hell did she become the Bearer of Honesty in the first place? It wouldn't have chosen her if she wasn't a good pony. There were some good moments here. Rarity randomly jamming to the guitar (and Pinkie's hair straightening in response) is randomness done correctly. Pinkie Pie is completely in character and likeable here. When AJ learns her lesson, she's contrite and works to make things right. Unfortunately, those things can't save Honest Apple from being a terrible episode. Now, is it worse than Hard to Say Anything? Very hard to tell. Originally, I said Honest Apple's worse, but Hard to Say Anything is pure trash all the way to the end. Right now, it's a coin toss.

I am kind of shocked by how many members and so many more of the fandom are afraid to let their family know or their friends. Yes I am older, I'm 25 soon to be 26 and I have grown up with multiple remakes and the original My Little Pony and it wasn't a big deal. I still don't think it is a big deal today, my family knows I love the show and I love all of the merch and such. They support my art and they want to see me grow and develop it into something more and maybe eventually be good enough to sell things for commissions. Someday soon hopefully! But over the last few years I have heard stories where elementary school children are being bullied by other kids because they like the show, they were bullied to the point where they wanted to take their own lives. It is honestly sad and pathetic that kids do this to their fellow classmates. But I am really concerned about those who are afraid to tell their parents. I mean, I don't see it being any different then being a fan of some other show. Look at Star Trek (which I am also a fan of), or Dr. Who, or any and all of the anime shows. I am not trying to point fingers or single anypony out but this is coming from a place where I am truly curious and if there is anything that we as a community can do to support those who are having a hard time. I don't want somepony to feel like they can't talk to the people they care about and have to hide something that they love. I do understand to a point where you might hide it from other class mates because... let's face it, some kids can be REALLY mean, and that stems from the home and the parents of THAT child. I am honestly curious and concerned from a Psychological standpoint and from a concerned member of the fandom. Please feel free to post your story or if you have had any experience with confronting other people or why you may feel that family/friends may not support you. -Stardust*

Hello, I'm ragestar, and I've been pretty bored lately and just love to inspect and rate OC'S, so I've decided to make this thread to rate anyponies OC, I'll be honest, but not mean, actually, the only things that induce groans from me are overpowered characters, perfectly flawless characters, and terribly gramnered backstories, plus, as a promise, I won't use the word mary sue/gary stue, on your OC's, I hate that word so bucking much...but anyway, let's get started, who would like to go first? (Looks blankly at the empty audience seats, with a sweatdrop while ignoring the cricket sounds) WARNING: I may use my OC crimson grinn for commentary on your OC for comedy reasons.

Title pretty much says it all. The fandom always blows a gasket whenever the mane six don't follow their element to a tee(which I think is ridiculous). But the more I think about it, the more I realize the elements aren't that easy to follow, whether it be not following it enough, or following it too much. Out of the six elements, which do you think is the most difficult EDIT: Also consider: Which of the mane 6 has it the hardest?

Monday is usually the day we get back to the grind, and most are willing to be perfectly honest when they say that they hate it. Then they get back to grind for another honest day's work. Applejack takes to Honesty as often as possible, we all know that, but here I find myself wondering about what that means. Sure that means not lying, but that's so simple, too simple. How honest is someone who can use the excuse, "I didn't actually lie?" Honesty, Truth, Reality Deception, Lies, Falsity What seperates the "honest truth" from "an honest day's work?" How far does the concept of Honesty extend? What can we do to liken ourselves to everyone's favorite background pony (I mean that only as a joke), Applejack? Define Honesty.

I know, I know, but we already had an episode like that for AJ, 'Leap of Faith' and I really liked that episode. I honestly thought it was one of AJ's best episodes to date. Is it so wrong I would like to see another one again? In the future that is. Before you cry out, it would be unoriginal to do it again, I would say that you can rework the situation differently or concept with a some modifications or such. Afterall, it's okay if something gets done again (imo), so long as it's presented well and done correctly would I say it can be judged by its own merit. (besides, it would only be the 2nd time, hardly can say its repetitive). It's just really a concept to work with. Aj has to tell the truth in this episode and there are consequences attached to this. So maybe a slight modifier, raise the stake of the consequence a little. AJ, tell Applebloom where her parents are .... this would be where AJ would have to deal with the dilemma, do I tell Applebloom where they are? Or do I keep lying about it until the very end of the episode where she has to tell her anyways. Depending on how you pace - you could have AJ say it right from the beginning of the episode, and the rest of the episode dealing with Applebloom trying to interpret/understand that truth and try to deal with it. But it would also be an episode about closure, yes AJ would have to admit a truth that she might be afraid to say to Applebloom (again, depends on how you pace it), but it would also have to involve closure for the Apple family, to come together, because any type of grieving that might be presented in it, must be overcome by being able to grieve with each other as a family. Sure, I'm well aware of the Never say die trope here. I'm just throwing that one out as an example, because we really haven't acknowledged this elephant in the room (and yeah, I'm well aware, it's extremely unlikely it will ever happen. And no, I'm not counting the two shooting stars from 'Apple Family Reunion' as full acknowledgement, keyword being full. We had to get Sabrina Alberghetti to vaguely say 'yeah'. I kind of wish Lauren Faust was still able to make some decision on said manner). But i'm digressing too much, I just used that as an example. How would you come up with a plot that revolved around this episode concept ? Discuss pls.

Kindness: The Element of Kindness is found in characters who have a deep compassion for others, and an acceptance of others for who they are. A kind character seeks not only to do no harm, but also to heal hurts in others, and nurture them. While they aren’t necessarily as generous, encouraging, or devoted as others might be, a character who embodies Kindness has a deep compassion and empathy for others which most do not. They are more aware of someone’s feelings and well-being, and how their actions—and the actions of others—might affect them. For this reason, a kind character tends to be reluctant to engage in confrontation and might try to stop it before it starts, and would be the first to make peace afterward and take care of those who were harmed. Laughter: The Element of Laughter is found in characters who are optimistic at their core, and seek to use their positivity and energetic good cheer to make the world a better place. A cheerful character tends to be upbeat and rarely discouraged or fearful; even when things are at their worst, they can find the silver lining in the dark clouds. While they can tend to be odd or appear to not take things seriously, this is often not the case; a cheerful character generally understands the gravity of a situation, but chooses to focus on the positive and fun aspects of it instead of dwelling on the grim and negative. For this reason, a cheerful character tends to be more apt to encourage others than to oppose them; they are more likely to throw a party to try to change someone’s attitude than to argue with them. Generosity: The Element of Generosity is found in characters who readily make sacrifices for others, giving of their time, effort, possessions, and even opportunity. While Generosity is similar to Kindness, it differs in that while a kind character might nurture someone by making sure that they get the medical care they need, a generous character would absolutely insist on taking care of the person themselves. It’s not enough for a generous character to make sure someone gets something nice or something they need; a generous character has a deep need to make, give, or deliver it themselves, personally. This can get them into trouble by causing them to try to take on too many responsibilities and thus suffer from the ‘weight of the world,’ but it is this theme of personal and dedicated self-sacrifice which is the mark of a generous character. Honesty: The Element of Honesty is found in characters who focus on personal integrity, responsibility, and straightforward morality. An honest character is more than simply someone who doesn’t tell lies (in fact, they may lie if it serves a higher sense of responsibility); they have an ‘honest heart,’ and try to be dependable in all aspects of their life. An honest character usually has very strong self-discipline, and firm convictions in what they think is right or wrong; they rarely (if ever) cheat, even against their enemies. To an honest character, a commitment they have made is a sacred duty—an oath or vow that they must fulfill at any cost and by any means necessary. This can lead to an honest character being blind to the assistance others can offer, as they focus on their own personal responsibility and how important it is to their ‘honest heart’ that they make good on their promises. But it is this dependability and firm moral core of steadfast integrity which defines an honest character. Loyalty: The Element of Loyalty is found in characters who place immense value on those who they consider important, and choose those friends over others—and even themselves. A loyal character desires value and acceptance from their friends, and regularly does things in service to their friends which they do not—or cannot—do in service to others. While a loyal character shows aspects of the other Elements in the things they do, they usually show them more when serving their friends. While they might help others and reap the glory for themselves, when helping friends they are likely to do so even to their own detriment. This is the difference between a loyal character and anyone else: a loyal character will push themselves far beyond the lengths they would normally go to when they do so out of loyalty to those they care about. Magic: The Element of Magic is found in characters who approach the world with an outlook of idealism, faith, and wonder, and strive to see what makes all things special. A wondrous character focuses on the unique and the important, looking for what makes each pony, each situation, each experience, ‘magical.’ Often, a wondrous character tends to have an innocent, even naive, outlook on life; they have an optimism which is similar to (but more restrained than) a cheerful character’s. A wondrous character approaches situations with a unifying faith in the world around them and their friends, and more often than not, it is they who more readily see the ‘magic’ of friendship for what it truly is.

Judging by the pilot episode where the Mane Six first discovers their elements, I've been thinking Applejack's element, honesty, isn't accurate for her. In the episode, she reassures Twilight before letting her fall off the cliff to get rescued by Rainbow and Flutters, but I didn't see any form of honesty being the important thing there. AJ did say "What I'm telling you is the honest truth," but honesty is more about being true to your feelings and admitting them to others. In this scene, Applejack was not doing that. In my opinion, her Element of Harmony should have been trust, because Twilight had to put her trust in her by letting go of her. That would have represented AJ's character more accurately, I think. If they wanted to give her a proper scene for honesty, they could have had her being honest about something she did wrong in order to save her friends. That was done in a fanfic I read on FIMFiction, and I thought that would have been great in the real episode, because that's what honesty represents.

We all know that Applejack is honest and true to her values and to herself and the mane 6 all are to a certain extent but which one other than Applejack is the most true to themselves? Rainbow Dash though she has grown a great deal as a character still has some deep seated insecurities regarding her rep which makes her reluctant to express her emotions and is also reluctant to try new things that night be considered "uncool". Pinkie Pie is friendly, hyperactive and chipper but can have problems respecting other ponies or in one case donkey's and another case griffons personal space which crosses the line from friendly to stalker mode. Fluttershy is as her name implies very shy and reserved and is quite kind which does make her very true to herself but seriously needs to grow a spine. Twilight Sparkle was very anti social and had trouble making friends at first because she didn't see it as important but has improved a great deal in this regard while still keeping her studious bookworm tendencies. Because of this I think it is a bit of a toss up between Fluttershy and Twilight as to who is the most true to themselves.

Here come more lyrics. This time, it's a rock cover that uses some aspects of the layout of Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata in C# minor (1st movement). This one's about the fall of Nightmare Moon. The Fall (Nightmare Moon) (Beethoven Moonlight Sonata intro for 3 bars, on fourth lead into 6/8 Medium-Hard Rock) (Medium-Hard Rock for 4 bars then lighten) Verse 1 Days, turned into to months Months, into years Years into decades To centuries and then a millennium Verse 2 Darkness filled her heart A clash with the light A simple request Turned into a vengeance of fire Chrorus It was her plan Spoiled by light The sun and the moon collide, a fight For whom shall reign the skies above The night, shall reign forever more (Short guitar solo for 2 bars) Verse 3 Twas told the legend The mare, in the moon Nightmare moon, she was called Brought fear and terror in the night Verse 4 Just a simple request Rejected by her older sis Forced herself, unto the throne Banished to the moon Chrorus It was her plan Spoiled by light The sun and the moon collide, a fight For whom shall reign the skies above The night, shall reign forever more (Guitar Solo for eight bars then lighten) (Spoken) Elements of Harmony (with an echo effect) To end the night of terror Take six Who are the chosen (Getting a little heavier) (Spoken) Applejack, you are the one The one who everypony can trust You assured Twilight in fear’s eyes You…represent honesty (Short medium heavy riff and guitar solo for 2 bars) Fluttershy, you are the one The one who can be shy at times But, you have compassion overloading as you tamed the beast You…represent kindness (Short medium heavy riff and guitar solo for 2 bars) Pinkie Pie, you are the one The one who spreads the spirit of joy wherever you go You laughed away the fears and in fear’s eye You…represent laughter (Short medium heavy riff and guitar solo for 2 bars) Rarity, you are the one Despite your love for gems and riches You gave up your lovely tail to a serpent in need You…represent generosity (Short medium heavy riff and guitar solo for 2 bars) Rainbow Dash, you are the one The one everypony can depend on You stayed with your friends instead of following your hearts desire You…represent loyalty Bridge And once combined the 5 elements Produce the one to end it all The true meaning is that… Friendship is magic! (hold “magic” for 4 bars) Chorus (Reprise) It was her plan To rule the skies No longer her great destiny It was the fall Of Nightmare Moon! (hold “moon” for 2 bars) (Chorus riff chord progression for 2 bars) (Last 6 bars of Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata 1st movement, guitar solo over these bars, then begin to slow arriving at the end of the 6th bar. Take last 6 notes of the third to last bar and slow them down. Hold last note with a heavy C# minor chord. Roll cymbals with Nightmare Moon’s cry, Crescendo to two final hits. Cut on final hit) (Rainbow Dash: Awww yeah!)

I'd been meaning to make this one for a while. I love LJ/AJ's horrible poker face.
