  1. Welcome to the Fan Club for: Mage Meadowbrook An earth pony legend known for her prowess in healing who has saved many a town and city from certain doom; Meadowbrook is an earth pony after my own heart. Even though Twilight referred to Meadowbrook in "The Cutie Map" as an eastern unicorn (ala Mistmane), I find her depiction as an earth pony healer much more interesting, and at this point she is my favorite of the so-called legends. All rules apply as normal! Source: https://evergreen-gemdust.deviantart.com/art/Meadowbrook-706171869?src=MC_deviation_stack
  2. -WELCOME TO MISTMANE FAN CLUB- In Rarity's story, Mistmane is a talented unicorn sorceress who is hailed and beloved as the most beautiful pony in Equestria. Sometime after being accepted into a prestigious magic school, Mistmane receives a letter saying her best friend Sable Spirit was crowned empress of her old village home. However, when she returns home, she finds it a dismal dictatorship where the empress keeps the villagers working all hours on her palace and takes everything with beauty for herself. Mistmane confronts Sable Spirit in her palace and demands an explanation. Sable explains that she was always jealous of Mistmane's beauty and talent, and after she left for magic school, Sable used a spell to make herself beautiful. The spell backfired, however, and made her hideous. Therefore, she decided if she couldn't have beauty, she would take it from everyone and everything else. Mistmane refuses to allow this, and she faces Sable Spirit in a magic duel. After a fierce clash of fire- and water-conjuring spells, Mistmane wins by trapping Sable in a cocoon of plant roots. Afterward, Mistmane plants a flower at the center of the village and uses her magic to restore its beauty—as well as Sable Spirit's—while also sacrificing her own beauty. Sable Spirit is so moved by Mistmane's sacrifice that she rules with kindness and compassion from then on. Though Mistmane is no longer physically beautiful, she dedicates her life to spreading beauty all over Equestria. 3. Does anyone have any urban legends from their own country that they’d like to share? They can be scary, funny, stupidly mundane, etc. As someone who’s training to be a psychologist, I find things like these to be interesting, and it gives me an insight into how the people of the country think (eg. what they find to be frightening/funny compared to other countries). I’ll begin with an urban legend from my own country just to get things started. If the thread takes off, I’ll share more. The urban legend that I’ll talk about is a well-known one that comes from my own country of Northern Ireland (different from Ireland, I assure you). I attend a university called Queen’s University in Belfast, and the university has several buildings. For example, there’s the main Lanyon Building, the Teaching and Learning Centre, etc. The buildings that I’ll be talking about are the David Keir Building (DKB) and the Ashby Building. Across from the DKB, there is a graveyard known as the Friar’s Bush Graveyard. The graveyard is the site of a mass grave filled with bodies from a cholera epidemic, to the point where a mound can be seen in the centre. Those who approach this mound are said to experience the sensation of hands touching them and clawing at their clothes. Now, beneath the DKB, there is a maintenance tunnel. This tunnel stretches from the DKB to the nearby Ashby Building, and it runs adjacent to the graveyard. To this day, there is not a single staff member in that university who will willingly go down into that tunnel alone, and many absolutely refuse to. Those who have been down there attest to the fact that the tunnel, in some areas, becomes unnaturally cold. Voices can be heard, things can be seen, and perhaps most compellingly, the same sensations of the hands that can be experienced in the graveyard can be experienced in the maintenance tunnel. As for what the people saw down there, nobody knows. I personally don’t believe in ghosts, but I have to wonder what they saw, or what they thought they saw, that was so traumatising that they refuse to speak about it.
  4. -WELCOME TO STYGIAN AKA PONY OF SHADOWS FAN CLUB- In the season seven finale Shadow Play, the six "Pillars of Old Equestria" with Mistmane, Flash Magnus, Somnambula, Rockhoof, Mage Meadowbrook, and Star Swirl the Bearded, representing the Element of Strength had a thousand-year-old friendship problem that only Starlight Glimmer realized. Long ago, the Pillars were brought together by the unicorn colt Stygian to battle a great evil as known as the sirens. When Stygian later turned into the Pony of Shadows, the Pillars acrificed themselves to imprison him in limbo. In present day, Applejack retrieves Rockhoof's shovel for a ritual to free the Pillars from limbo. When the Pony of Shadows is freed along with them, the Pillars team up with the Mane Six to separate Stygian from the darkness and ban it to limbo once again. 5. -WELCOME TO FLASH MAGNUS FAN CLUB- n Rainbow Dash's story, Flash Magnus is a cadet in the Cloudsdale Royal Legion during a time before the founding of the Wonderbolts. One day, while flying over the Dragon Lands to reach their teammates on the other side, the Legion is intercepted and attacked by dragons, including Torch. Several members of the Legion are captured and taken to the dragons' lair. Flash Magnus wants to rescue their captured comrades, but Commander Ironhead forbids it, saying the dragons are too powerful to challenge head-on. Therefore, Flash volunteers to lure the dragons away from their lair so that Ironhead and the rest of the Legion can retrieve their friends. Ironhead recognizes Flash's bravery and gives him the fireproof shield Netitus to assist in his mission. After Flash gets the dragons' attention and lures them away from their lair, Ironhead and his soldiers infiltrate the cave. Once the captured Legionnaires are saved, Ironhead and the Legion gather together a large collection of storm clouds, which Flash leads the pursuing dragons into. Overwhelmed by lightning, the dragons retreat. Flash is praised by his fellow Legionnaires for his bravery, and Commander Ironhead allows him to keep the Netitus shield. 6. -WELCOME TO ROCKHOOF FAN CLUB- In Applejack's story, Rockhoof is a scrawny Earth pony colt who lives in a village at the foot of a giant volcano. The village is protected by a group of elite pony guards called the Mighty Helm. Rockhoof dreamed of becoming a member of the Helm, but his weak stature and inability to lift an axe got in the way, bringing him ridicule from the other guard ponies. One day, while Rockhoof was digging holes with his shovel, the volcano explosively erupts, threatening to cover the village in lava. Unable to think of a way to save the village, the Mighty Helm orders its immediate evacuation, but the villagers are reluctant to leave the home where they spent their entire lives. Rockhoof, however, uses his shovel to start digging a trench to divert the lava away from the village, even though he couldn't dig fast enough. Suddenly, in the middle of Rock hoof's digging, a mysterious magic surrounds his shovel, and he transforms from a scrawny colt to a brawny stallion. With his newfound strength, Rockhoof is able to dig multiple times faster than before, and he successfully diverts the lava into the ocean. For his bravery and determination, Rockhoof is invited to join the Mighty Helm's ranks. 7. As a football fan, I've recently become a fan of the 31 members of what is known as the 100 Sacks club. The NFL players who have performed at least 100 sacks throughout their NFL career. Unfortunately only 12 out of the 31 have managed to get into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. (Possibly 13 if Jason Taylor manages to get in this year) The ones who are in are: Bruce Smith Reggie White Kevin Greene Chris Doleman Michael Strahan John Randle Richard Dent Lawrence Taylor Rickey Jackson Derrick Thomas Charles Haley Andre Tippett 5 are still active: Julius Peppers DeMarcus Ware Robert Mathis Dwight Freeney Terrell Suggs As stated before, Jason Taylor is entering his first year of eligibility, so he could be there soon. 2 had just recently retired will have to wait a few years: Jared Allen John Abraham And 11 have still not yet been inducted despite being eligible for some time: Leslie O'Neal Simeon Rice Clyde Simmons Sean Jones Greg Townsend Pat Swilling Trace Armstrong Neil Smith Kevin Carter Jim Jeffcoat William Fuller Which are your favorites? Which ones would you like to see inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame that haven't been inducted yet?
  8. If anyone remembers back in the early 2000's, Acclaim released a pro wrestling video game series called Legends of Wrestling. As the name suggests, it featured a number of wrestlers from the past competing against each other. It's safe to say that they weren't perfect. They had some glitches and such but the whole concept was just fantastic. They made 3 games: Legends of Wrestling I, Legends of Wrestling II, and Showdown: Legends of Wrestling. However Acclaim folded just after Showdown was released. Since then, no other gaming company has acquired the rights to the Legends of Wrestling series. So I figured that I would show you a few Word documents that I typed up of stuff I would include in a fourth Legends of Wrestling video game if it were a reality. They include Game Modes, Roster, Arenas, Features and Notes and Disclaimers. I used Word documents because typing it all here would take way too much effort on my part They were done in the Stencil typeface just to let you know. This is only a fantasy, I don't know if they will make one or not. LOWNewFeatures.docx LOWModes.docx LOWRoster.docx LOWArenas.docx LOWNotes.docx Those are just my ideas of what I would use if they ever made a Legends of Wrestling IV. If you have any ideas, don't be afraid to share them.
  9. Megaman Legends is a very interesting game. Before it every Megaman or Megaman X game had always been an 2D action, side-scrolling platformer. Megaman Legends, however, was a completely alien experience for fans; rather than running from one side to another on a 2D plane shooting every bad guy and taking on an army lead by madmen, you were instead put into a full 3D world exploring ruins and discovering treasure while making your way through mysterious robots and thwarting pirates. It was a wholly unique experience from the Megaman franchise at the time and since it's release it's developed quite a cult following, and today, it's finally made its way to the Playstation Network Store. How well does it hold up? The story takes plays several tmillenia into the Megaman timeline(though no prior knowledge is needed to play the game). You take control of a new incarnation of Megaman called Megaman Volnutt(who is also referred to sometimes as Megaman Trigger), a 14-year old digger who travels a world covered in water with his surrogate sister and Spotter Roll Casket, her grandfather Barrel Casket and a little robot monkey named Data. The game begins with Megaman escaping a ruin after successfully getting a refractor(which serves as both money, and an energy source in the game). After escaping, the groups ship (called the Flutter) has an engine failure and crashes into Kattelox Island, where they meet the locals and a small town up ahead to meet with the Mayor. During their stay there they venture through several ruins, meet antagonists(though not bad guys) the Bonnes, a lovably goofy family of pirates who tries to find all of the treasure they can at any cost, and they learn from exploring the island's ruins that it contains a dark and ominous secret. This is probably the first time since the original Megaman X where the story in a Megaman game is actually pretty fun and engaging. The build up to the game's climax is fun to follow through and the characters are the best. Megaman and his "family" all have some pretty fun quirks and are great to be around, as well as some of the Kattelox's residents. But the real stars are the Bonne Family, who are some of the funniest characters in the game, Tron is feisty and stubborn girl with some temper problems(who also totally has a crush on Volnutt), Teisel is her crazy, hot-headed older brother who emotions are all over the place(which leads to some hilarious moments) and Bon Bonne who is the youngest of the 3 siblings because he's literally a baby, and and yet can operate a giant robot(He is likely inspired by Baby Commando, a character in the Capcom beat-em-up Captain Commando). Then there's their henchmen(and the game's pseudo mascots) the Servebots who are absolutely adorable despite their incompetence. They're some of the best adorable yellow/blue henchmen out there(suck it Minions!) Also Wily makes an appearance, but as a normal boat salesman rather than a crazy scientist Gameplay As I said before, Megaman Legends is a much different experience from the traditional Megaman games. This is the first Megaman game that lets you experience the world in a 3D adventure game. As far as controls go, they work well. Movement and shooting work fine, and you can interact with different objects, sometimes they do nothing, sometimes they explain game mechanics or the story, and somethings, usually boxes, trash cans and treasure boxes, contain items. The shoulder buttons move the camera, and the R2 button allows for targeting enemies. One glaring issue however with the targeting is that you can't move while targeting enemies which can make it difficult for targeting enemies, and sometimes it's difficult to switch enemies when there are multiple ones at once. It's takes a while to get used to and simply becomes a minor inconvenience once you do, but I can see this turning off some new players. There are also some situations where some enemies can become unreasonably difficult and overwhelming to deal with at times, which can lead to a few cheap deaths, especially for newcomers. As for exploring, you can enter ruins and search for hidden items, treasures, buster parts and money(which can also be obtained along with health from defeating enemies) with some items being harder to find than others. Some ruins may have areas where you can't progress further until certain items are found(such as the Drill Arm or Jump Springs). Some items can be taken to Roll to be turned into buster parts, special items and special weapons. Buster parts can be used to upgrade the stats of your buster, which is your standard weapon and you can upgrade either your attack, energy(the amount of shots you can fire at one time, with 3 shots at the start, like every other Megaman game), range, and rapid fire and are completely unlimited. Special weapons are weapons that can be more efficient than your buster given the situation and are completely unique to each other, they range from machine busters, to rocket launchers, swords, vacuums(which is more useful than it sounds) with a laser being your strongest special weapon. Unlike your buster you have limited ammo for most of your weapons until your refill your weapon energy at the save point or have a Hyper Cartridge and you can upgrade your special weapons with money as well. You can also obtain Special items, some of which are either key items or items that improve your performance(such as Helmets, which protect you when you fall on your head, armor, jump springs, which improves jumping, and jet skates which allows you to move faster). Other items include energy canteens(refills health), chameleon net(which makes invisible and avoid enemy detection), Adapter Plug(which lets you equip more parts) and a shield repair(which lets repairs your shield when it gets too damaged). There are also various shops and vendors where you can buy more items, parts, increase your life gauge, energy canteen, etc. Items and parts can also be obtained by doing side quests, that can range from fun to annoying. Visuals Visuals are a bit of a mixed. They game is very polygonal, and definitely shows its age in a lot of areas. On the plus side, the world is very colorful, some areas such as the town, shops and ruins are very detailed, as well as some cameos here and there left by Capcom. Ruins are made to be very dark and mysterious with a draw distance that adds to their ominousness. The game also uses cutscenes played in game and was very anime-like(not quite cel-shaded though), it allowed for characters to give some very good facial expressions, which was pretty impressive, not to mention rare for a 3D game at the time(keep in mind, not even Metal Gear Solid or Ocarina of Time had that). The character models on the other hand could have used some more work, while the main characters looked fine for the most part(which is probably because they focused mostly on them) most background character models had some ridiculously massive limbs and normal towns people look pretty ugly(and not intentionally). Sound Music is quite different compared to most Megaman titles, but it's still a very impressive soundtrack. Memorable tracks the Apple Market theme that plays whenever you're in the main town or in the small shopping arcade in front of it, it's very relaxing and will put you in a shopping mood. Most of the ruin's music definitely add to their mystique, though the definitely gets bonus points for adding some suspense to it. And lets not for get the , or the Flutter vs the Gesellschaft, both of which are up there with Dr Wily's Castle and X Vs Zero as some of the best tunes in the franchise. This is also one of the few Megaman games that doesn't have awful voice acting. They aren't anything special, but they get the job done pretty well. Some characters can come off as a bit hammy, but with some of them they work very well and fit the character perfectly(again, Tron and Teisel are easily the most memorable performances in the game) Also Megaman finally sounds like a boy Overall This game is an odd one. Visually it shows it's age, and I could see the shift in gameplay being a turnoff to some people, especially hardcore fans of traditional Megaman gameplay. But the controls still hold up well(despite targeting issues), and the story and characters are a blast to experience. For a new player it could be beaten in about 10 hours and beating it unlocks the Hard difficulty which allows for more replay value. Despite it's issues it's still a really fun game that I still say is very much worth giving a chance, especially now that it's on PSN(which means you won't have to donate an organ to buy the original PS1/N64 copy), though the best way to experience it is either on the PS1 or PS3 due to the lack buttons on the PSP/Vita, and because the N64 controller is seriously fucked.
  10. http://www.equestriadaily.com/2015/04/legends-of-equestria-open-weekend.html The LoE openserver weekend is going on right now for those that weren't aware (like me...) http://www.legendsofequestria.com/
  11. LEGO. Chima. Yup. I like this series, it has humor and battle scenes galore. If you haven't seen it yet, Season 1 is on netflix. So go watch it now.
  12. Hey there! Just wondering if anyone here is going to join LOE. I'm going as my OC Honey Dew. You'll see there later
  13. So I've been playing Legends of Equestria and of course as my OC Speedster. It's awesome, I decided to do a fly by nothing serious. Didn't really edit the video, just recorded with fraps and was listening to music. The music was playing while I was recording so it was recorded with it. Plan on recording two more just for fun, it's awesome. So Speedster in Equestria, enjoy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Ulz6ANxBRg&feature=youtu.be
  14. So basically, I've been playing some League of Legends lately and have noticed (after purchasing Leona and playing support for a while) that she is oddly similar to Celestia. She warships the sun, and she sounds almost JUST LIKE HER. I realize that they are voiced by two different people, but the similarities are striking. Let me know what you all think. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BMRn0rvu-L0
  15. And I am not talking about the online game, sadly... So, It seems pretty obvious that, in Equestria, there are many creatures that we would see as Myths, Legends, or Fictional creatures (Which is what I like most about the show, to be honest...), but, are there any kind of fictional creatures that were thought up but don't exist in their world? I first thought that humans could be mythical creatures in their world, but Equestria Girls proves that that probably isn't the case. Since myths are usually displayed in books, Twilight wouldn't have so ignorant as to what she is when she became a human (Or at least a very close representative of a human), since she probably would have read a book on humans. That lead me to believe that no one in Equestria knows about humankind what-so-ever (Now, other than Twilight and her friends). But then, what do they think of Minotaurs? Since, in our books, Minotaurs are half-man, half-bull. But, "man" probably doesn't exist in Equestria, so would they say "Half-ape, half-bull?" Also, another thing is, Dashie asked "What are hands?" at the end of Equestria Girls, so most ponies probably don't know what Hands are. Then, what to they call the parts at the end of a Minotaur's arms? Paws? It would be interesting to see what some ponies could create in their heads, since they have so much more to reference in a fictional creature than we do (assuming we don't just pull something random out of our head). What do you think?
  16. Hello there everypony! Today, I happened to stumble across a project for a MLP themed MMORPG called Legends of Equestria. I'm sure some of you have already heard of it, but I though it would be a good idea to start up a thread so that the good bronies of mlp forums could show their support for the new game. Please post your thoughts on the upcoming game! Here is a link to the official website: http://www.legendsofequestria.com/
  17. Welcome, dear reader. I hope that these words find in you a seeker of the truth, just as the humble writer that places his work now beneath your eyes. My name is Alazlam Quill , and I am a scholar of the history of our beloved Equestria. I have lived traveling to the farthest corners and highest peaks of this world, crossing the roads that lead from horizon to horizon, learning and recording the places, dealings, events and lives from past and present that have given shape to our world and will found the grounds upon where the generations to come shall stand. You see my dear friend, the past shapes the present as this moment establishes the future. We are subjected to the consequences of these happenings that were and to free ourselves from the shackles of a dreaded fate there is no other way than acknowledging the steps that brought us here. My life has been devoted to build a path which you may want to walk alongside my words, for these are the records of the stories and legends that dyed the colors of the Equestrian folklore that have inspired dreams and fed nightmares for entire generations. You may consider the stories that follow these words to be fantasies or fiction, but if you do, dear friend, I’m afraid you are mistaken. The scars over history are always left behind by some deep wound and just as our flesh history shows without fail the record of those wounds; over stories, legends, songs, prayers and many more ways our kind has stored those wounds deep inside our culture. Fueled by the drive of discovering the wounds behind those scars I crossed the land and gathered the traces left behind such tales, pieces from our past that have dented our lives with their powerful myths. Heroes of bravery without precedent, artifacts of terrible might, lands filled with wonders, creatures of both divine and wicked cradle. Our world holds the fabric of legend among its days and nights and it’s from it where these stories find their origin. Just as the magnificent dream embodied into flesh and magic that our Empress of the Sun is, the unlimited amount of legends that sprout throughout our world is never ending as the stars that once were guarded by the mare in the moon; just as her legend and prophesy is true and waiting to ensue. The secrets of thousand other stories are waiting for souls like yours to find and unveil their wonders. Now as I see how the dusk of my life is drawing nigh, I can tell you, dear reader, that the words that will follow these ones are the testament of my travels, and the joy of my times. My efforts now relies on you and with them the hope that they will be able to ignite a spark in your heart that will burn with the flames of discovery pulling you towards the desire of knowing more. These are my final wishes. These are: The Tales of a Millennium I - Valley of the Blaze Garden II - The Curse of the Silver Light III - The Perpetual Nightmare IV - Galloping Thundermare
