Twilight Sparkle has a brother named Shining Armor, a niece named Flurry Heart, a sister-in-law named Cadence, and I think her mother is called Velvet Sparkle and her father is Nightlight Sparkle or something like that. Celestia is also Cadence's aunt and also is Prince Blueblood's, which would make Celestia Twilight's...great-aunt-in-law? And what would that make Blueblood? Her brother-in-law? And that means Luna is also family because she's Celestia's younger sister but I don't quite know exactly how. Pinkie Pie has three sisters Limestone Pie, Marble Pie and Maud Pie. Maud is older than Pinkie, I don't know how old Limestone and Marble are. Their father is Igneous Pie and their mother is Cloudy Quartz. She has two grandmothers, Granny Pie and Nana Pinkie. Applejack has an older brother Big Macintosh and a younger sister Apple Bloom. Her mother is or was Pear Butter and her father is or was Bright Mac, but we don't know if they're still alive. She has a grandmother called Granny Smith and a grandfather called Grand Pear. She also has relatives called Apple Brioche, Goldie Delicious, Apple Fritter, Red Gala, Apple Bumpkin, Red Delicious, Caramel Apple, Apple Strudel, Apple Tart, Baked Apples, Apple Cinnamon Crisp, Apple Cider, Apple Cobbler, Apple Honey, Apple Munchies, Gala Appleby, Jonagold, Lavender Fritter, Peachy Sweet and Perfect Pie, but I do not know their exact relation. She has an aunt and uncle Orange and two cousins Babs Seed and Braeburn. Fluttershy has parents Mr and Mrs Shy and a younger brother Zephyr Breeze. Rainbow Dash has a father Bow Hothoof and a mother Windy Whistles. Rarity has a younger sister Sweetie Belle. They have parents, but I don't know their names. Scootaloo has parents, but I don't know their names. Thorax has an older brother named Pharynx. Carrot Cake and his wife Cup Cake have a son Pound Cake and a daughter Pumpkin Cake who are twins. Diamond Tiara has a mother Spoiled Rich and a father Filthy Rich. I think I also heard something about her having a grandfather named Stinking Rich. Flim and Flam are brothers. Peewee has parents but I don't know their names. I think that the Ursa Minor and Ursa Major are related, with the Ursa Major probably being a parent, but I don't quite know for sure. Did I miss any?
HIPSTER. God I'm sick of that word. Aren't you? I've never called someone a hipster, never thought of them as a hipster, and after some thought and research on the subject here's my conclusion. THERE ARE NO HIPSTERS. The word has no independent meaning whatsoever. It was invented by entertainment and fashion writers to tell you how you should think, who you should dislike (yourselves? everyone?) and to shoehorn you into a, quote, 'subculture' that does not exist. I love it when people use the word 'subculture' don't you? It's almost like they're admitting they have no clue who or what they're talking about!! But admitting you don't know what you're talking about is bad for your blog. Drives down the number of hits. Think about it. Almost every young person dresses, or thinks they dress, in 'their own style' when they're really just throwing together clothes with the right look or brand name with slight variations. "Um...well they buy their clothes at thrift shops!" So does everyone else and their one-legged grandma in this economy. So you can't define them by their clothes. Everybody enjoys the thrill of faux-apathy and being non-mainstream, so that doesn't work. Many of us dislike Justin Bieber but we don't call each other hipsters just for that. What's the deal? They're only hipsters if you disagree with them? When older people say "hipsters," what they really mean is "younger people." When younger people call each other "hipsters," what they really mean is "asshole." It's a glorified pejorative, an empty word we throw at each other because others have told us it's bad. I can tell because I've never heard anyone admit to being one--unlike hippies, metalheads, flappers and beats, who were/are in fact fairly distinct groups that some outsiders hated and some admired. It's like YOLO and swag. I'm told there are people out there who still use these terms un-ironically. WHERE ARE THEY? They're not there. They use the words once, get made fun of, and switch over to poking fun at them. Hipsters are a group that everybody hates and no one can identify. If you get this and still insist on using the word, you are not cool. You are not clever. You're buying into an illusion and you're part of the problem. The sooner we stop throwing it around, the sooner we can get at what's actually troubling this generation. Like our failure to pull together and get things done because we're too busy ranting online.
So I was scrolling through the forums (specifically the media beyond Equestria stuff) and I kept seeing all these different threads with a lot of pages of posts from the community and it looked disorganized and unkempt. That made me think of something more organized but a lot more tedious, (though I am willing to do the work for it) Is there anyway to maybe get a master thread for different things with ONE post that is locked? It would be a locked thread that would be created by a user (I am willing to make one myself) and that person would explain what the thread is to and then take the responsibility of having everyone's info pm'd to that individual. I know it's very tedious but, so is going through millions of pages of people's posts instead of nicely seeing one post with everyone's information on it. The benefits outweigh the cons: Pros: The thread/forum overall would look nicer The thread/forum overall would be more organized Everyone would be able to access the information at ease It would cut down on the number of active dedicated people enabling that only the people who go out of their way to be added are actually added. vs the people who post just to be on the thread. AKA people who want to be on the list get on the list Cons: VERY tedious work for that individual (but they would have to be willing, such as I am willing to make one myself) It would require more effort than just making a quick response ?? (I don't have anymore really, feel free to provide me with some) Personally I know there's a thread dedicated to information, but I rather make a master thread for PS3 information (I don't have an XBOX so). The platform for this idea could be a section of the forum dedicated to organizations. i.e. "The Official PS3 organization" "The Official Xbox Organization" "The Roleplayers of Equestria Guild" "The Official Rainbowdash Fanclub" The possibilities are endless and I believe that this will help the forums become more organized and easy to maneuver. Tell me your thoughts about it. Thanks!
