  5. I'm sure lots of us have played the oh-so popular Nintendo crossover fighter, Super Smash Bros., in some way shape or form. And, I'd like to ask, if you have, which installment of the series is your favorite? My personal favorite is the newest release, Smash 4 for Wii U and 3DS. Which is your favorite (and if you say Super Smash Flash, I'll virtually smash you )

  9. I am probably the only guy here, who actually cares about the Wii U Virtual Console, but i write it down anyway. When Nintendo introduced the Virtual Console almost 9 years ago, i freaking loved the idea. It was one of my reasons to buy a Wii back then and i am buying games from there, through the Wii U, especially since now GBA and DS games are also on it. However, i think Nintendo should cut the prices on the NES, SNES and N64 games. They still have the same price tag as they had 9 years ago and since that time, i think the games have lost a bit off worth. Not in the fun factor, i still love these games. But they are quite old (Super Mario Bros. Turned 30 for christ sake.) I would suggest that the NES, SNES and N64 games should atleast be 1 Euro (Dollar) cheaper and the GBA and DS games should remain as they are. What do you think?
  10. What you guys thought I was gonna review Splatoon for a game review? Well, I'll probably review that next game review. I actually don't like to a lot of game reviews. This is mostly due to multiple reasons. My interest in very few game series, the fact that I'm not that good at a lot of games, and the fact that I'll be addicted to a game for weeks and then never pick it up again for weeks or months. Since I'm now on summer break, and end up being bored I decided, "Why not play some games?" There are two new games I got into. Splatoon which again, I'll cover in my next game review and Banjo Kazooie. The reason it says Talks instead of Reviews in the blog title is that I haven't played enough of the game to give it a proper review. In fact as of posting this, I'm only on the 3rd world. The reason I wanted to talk about it now was because this is becoming one of my favorite games of all time, next to of coarse the big dogs like Pokemon and Mario. It might pass Mario but it's not passing Pokemon. So without further ado, lets talk about the game. The game's story: A bear named Banjo and his bird sidekick Kazooie are on a quest to save Banjo's sister, Tooty from the evil whtch Grintilda, who looks like she's ripped straight out of Wizard of Oz. This game was developed by Rareware. You know, the company that worked with Nintendo during the 90s to make some great games like the Donkey Kong Country series? I've noticed that Rare games seem to have this style of making games extremely cartoony. And it really shows in this game. This game has a really wacky and in your face tone about it. The characters are pretty wise-cracking. Kazooie and the mole who gives you tutorials have these pretty funny back and froths and the way the characters are designed look extra cartoony. I can'r say too much about the game as a whole since I'm only on the 3rd area but I guess I can talk about the gameplay. It's your typical collect-a-thon. You collect a lot of things to move on through the main hub of the game. It's not really a bad thing. It ends up being very rewarding when you say, find all 10 jiggys in an area. Yes, the main items to collect in this game are called jiggys. And they resemble puzzle pieces. Yes, very brilliant pun Rare. The graphics are your typical N64 graphics. Not amazing nowadays but pretty good if you were brought back to 1998. There are some nitpicks I have with this game so far, like the problem that most N64 games seem to have: the camera. There were moments where the camera just wouldn't agree with me and I couldn't get a proper aim on something or make a proper jump. It's not as bad here as in Mario 64, but it's still a bit bothersome. So yeah, this game is awesome. I might get the sequel if I ever finish the game or just want to but we'll have to see.
  11. We may not be the "master race", but we all know that Nintendo is pretty awesome. This thread is devoted to the Big N and all of it's glory. If the discussion is about Nintendo, debates about which game series is best, timelines (looking at you Zelda), ideas for reboots, new dlcs, etc. it is welcome here. Is it just me or does Nintendo have a lot of series? Like seriously some of these need to come back instead of Mario, Zelda, and Pokemon...
  12. Want just a quick summary? Head to the Final Verdict for that and my rating! Rampage 2: Universal Tour Platform: N64, PS1 Genre: Beat em' Up Publisher/Developer: Midway/Avalanche Software ESRB: T The original Rampage in the arcades was a peculiar game. It was all about annihilating everything in your path as giant mutants in order to get a high score. This kind of setting is reminiscent of the Godzilla franchise. Rampage World Tour vastly improved everything about the game and due to its popularity, a sequel was made in the form of Rampage 2: Universal Tour, a game that takes us to the stars and...well, boredom. Rampage 2 is of course the sequel to Rampage World Tour. The concept is basically exactly the same, you cause chaos, destruction, and mayhem throughout many cities across the world. The gameplay here is the same in almost all areas as the first game. The only major addition to this game is that you now also go to places beyond Earth and into space, but the concept stays the same there. Destroy buildings and move on. When you destroy all of the buildings in a city, you move on to the next one. It is a very simple concept that is very easy to get into, but it suffers from extreme repetition very quickly. Much like the gameplay, the graphics and sound are essentially the same as the first game with only minor additions. The only other major addition to this sequel are the 3 new characters; A Rhino, a Lobster, and a Mouse. The 3 original characters are unlockable in which you have to save them. The main issue that Rampage suffers from is repetition as I mentioned earlier. The game has a simple goal, destroy everything, but there is no real reward for doing so. There is no real feeling of progression in anything in the game and no stats or additions to your monsters, which would have worked wonders for the game's longevity. The best aspect to the game and probably what would make me still play it is the 3 player mode. The game allows for up to 3 players to cause carnage and mayhem or even fight each other randomly. You then can compete to who can cause the most destruction as it is tallied at the end of each city. The game is still very mindless in this mode but it at least feels more fun in its mindlessness with others. Final Verdict: Thank you for reading this week's Turbo Review! Until next time, Turbo out!
