  3. So, looks like we got the budget and score info for the movie. 4. I re-scored a short clip from "Magic Duel", with no offense to William Anderson, of course. This was done for fun and practice.
  5. My favourites are: 1.Hans Zimmer - he's just God of soundtracks:) 2.Two Steps From Hell (mainly Thomas Bergersen) - not that they made a lot of soundtracks, but just great music; 3.John Powell - his scores for the animated movies are very gorgeous and inspiring:) Then... 4.Jesper Kyd - I fell in love with her scores for the Assassin's Creed games; 5.Jeremy Soule - Elder Scrolls..very atmospheric stuffs; 6.Brian Tyler - has a really interesting and fresh ideas; 7.Craig Armstong, Harry Gregson-Williams, Alan Silvestri..and John Williams of course:) that's all I recalled yet.. It isn't like Top 7, just a list, because really hard to choose even some of them like the best composers:) Though..Zimmer with no doubt the best to my mind)) What about you?
  6. I've been making a lot of acapellas in my spare time lately. Some good, some utter crap. But this one turned out pretty good... for the most part. You may remember I released a Pokemon acapella not to long ago. You can find it here; I don't know if you guys find the top part adds to it or just sounds plain annoying. But it is what it is. But anyways, enjoy it, it's yours to keep. Harry Potter Theme 2 (Custom Chords).mp3
  7. Hi! If you tried to access, well... it no longer exists, I'm sorry to say. Or rather, it does, but it's been taken offline and it will now redirect you here instead. InfinityDash (my friend and BGM collaborator) registered the domain for the site back in October 2011. Life circumstances have caused him to become extremely busy for the past few months now, unfortunately; because of this, he did not wish to renew the domain come mid-October of 2012. The site was under a very lengthy hiatus and because he had full control of it, it wasn't being updated very often and it might as well have been sitting on the web collecting e-dust. We agreed to transfer to Feld0 (the site owner of this message board, rather than let it expire, to be potentially taken by someone else. Feld0 is a great friend of mine and we have been buddies since before these message boards opened back in October 2011. I have plans to reboot into an entirely new website sometime in the future, though I have no idea when that will be, as I am very busy extracting BGM and managing my own life as well. In the meantime, please stick around in this thread or feel free to stop by at the official MLP:FiM Background Music Facebook and Twitter pages that I run: Cheers, Senn555 November 9th, 2012 About This is my way of contributing to the Friendship is Magic community - by extracting the show's background music and sharing it via YouTube. I'm one of four people (that I know of) who does frequent BGM ripping - the other three are InfinityDash (my partner and collaborator), MrNewbyNewb, and Wingbeat Pony. Links to their YouTube channels are at the bottom of this post. Infinity, Newb, and Wingbeat have extracted more of the show's music than I have, though I tend to focus more on quality rather than quantity; I spend a lot of time finding methods to take out as much of the dialog and sound effects as I can. For the purpose of musical substance and listenability, I also edit and compile short cues together on a case-by-case basis; the download versions of music tracks may be presented in a different manner from their YouTube video counterparts. Other information about me and what I do can be found here: If you decide to use a music rip of mine for a project of yours, please let me know. I'm usually fine with it as long as I am given credit. 8. Pretty plain and simple: What is your favorite video game score (for those who dont know what a score is, its the orchestrated music). Mine would probably the legend of zelda score.
  9. Pinkie Pie and Braeburn vs. Score and Gilda! Where is Pinkie's usual partner, Moondust and why did Score select Gilda to replace his usual partner Crafty Crate? The former Anonymous stable is really starting to spread...
  10. Hi there, folks! Okay... it's done! After so much hard work, this track AND my very first album are finished. It's all thanks to you guys. If it weren't because of your huge support, I wouldn't even be here. Thank you so much! Anyway, this track is a mix of all my previous pony tracks, completely re-orchestrated and organized into one huge track. It works as the finale of the album, mixing all the stories, scenes and feelings of a big journey: Tales from Far Away. It took me weeks to complete this track... no kidding. You may think it was easy because mostly of its composition were done in the other tracks... but you'd be wrong. This was a whole new challenge, and to modify and combine each track, while maintaining its sense and essence (and the sense of the overall track) was surely a hard task. Nevertheless, I enjoyed every second of it, and with patience and hard work, I was able to pass this challenge... and I'm really glad and satisfied with the results. I hope you enjoy it, guys. It's been a beautiful journey so far! Thank you hugely for your time and support! As some of you may know, I'm a composition student, and therefore, I plan to make a living out of my music. Hence, I'd love if you could support me by buying the album. Or maybe just the track alone! Both links are here: Album from Bandcamp (16 tracks, $5 USD): Only this track ($1 USD): I really, really hope you enjoy it. Until the next time, everybody!
  11. Hi all, I've started up a brand new fanpage on Facebook devoted solely to FiM's instrumental / background music and BGM extractions. It shall serve as an alternative to - InfinityDash maintains that website, though it's been put on hiatus for the time being due to college and exams (I have no control over it aside from being able to post and edit blog entries). Because I am running this page, I hope I can provide more timely updates on new and upcoming BGM rips and other related news. Come join us and feel free to ask if you have any questions! EDIT: I've created a Twitter page as well.

  13. If you have an iPod or iPhone or iPad or anything like that just wondering what your high score is? Mines 358,317, yes ik its pretty bad So whats yours?
  14. As if I don't have enough on my plate already. This idea popped into my head a couple of days ago - yet I've been feeling really out of it lately (not motivated to do anything beyond my part-time paper delivery job); thus, I haven't so much as started on it. I'd love to tackle a complete music analysis with in-depth notes that covers each and every single song and cue in the series - yes, that would include all instrumental/background music. I'd like to do this primarily for any people and crew involved in putting together an FiM soundtrack, to make their job a little bit easier, and also to decide musical arrangement/sequencing on CD. There's a lot of reused and recycled underscore in the show - it wasn't so evident in season one, but I'm REALLY noticing it a lot as season two progresses. It would look like something similar to this: http://filmscoremont...71736&archive=0 La-La Land Records mentioned that they were in talks with Hasbro in a recent post (SOURCE: click). The process appears to be very slow - it could take many more months, if not years, before FiM sees its music released on CD. In the meantime, I'd like to throw something together to help them out - though my own project would take a number of weeks to do. (I'd have to comb through 35 episodes and counting!) What do y'all think? Now that I've posted this, I'd better start on it tomorrow and stop being lazy.
