  1. Hi Everypony!! I'm looking for free or affordable music software to muck around with and perhaps make my first FM do you have any recommendations? Any tips or recommendations would be greatly appreciated (Brohoofed)
  2. So for the half-person who waited for my livestream, it was cancelled (whoops ). Reason? Technical errors with the sound. (Not to mention two copyright strikes for a video that wasn't up for a minute) Beside that, I've got another computer-related blog (it's the last one, probably) on the way cause . . . I GOT A NEW LAPTOP! Finally after a good 8 or so months, I finally have a computer to call my own and respect (I'm looking at you, chromebook). I'll get into the specs later. What do I do with that computer? Counter-Strike, that's it. Skin Insanity Stage 4, gotta get more skins. On the contrary, I grew sick of the Steam Guard thing so I decided to download BlueStacks, a Windows Application enabling Android Emulation. I downloaded Steam and finally finished that silly security setup (it's really dumb; who needs it?). On my way out, however, I remembered an Equestria Daily entry about a My Little Pony Gameloft game. So, instinctively, I checked it out and downloaded it. First thing you'll probably see (if you ever decide to check out Bluestacks) is that everything lags pretty bad. Even on a brand new laptop, it still lags (no surprise there). So I got to enjoy the "alternate intro" to the game. (It's Episode 1's intro, but with Twilight in it for some reason. [Also: Celestia sounds weird]) It chopped every half second, so that was enjoyable. Loading takes forever on first boot. My first boot I was greeted to a lovely loading screen that took a good 4 minutes to complete. After that, I experienced that splendid Hasbro Logo accompanied by a second loading screen for updates that took another 12 minutes. Finally, when all was good and done, I got to experience the entirety of the game. Whatever that is. The tutorial is pretty simple, give Bon Bon a home and play with Twilight a bit. I kinda wish they had an Amie game to play with the ponies you buy . . . but there's not time for that; we need to get straight to business! (And I thought the Monopoly game was bad). My Little Pony: The Game is an in-game purchase hell. Everything you do is for more money. Play a game with balls? BOOM! Gimme your 200 bits. Want Rainbow Dash to bake cupcakes? BOOM! 2000 for Dash, another 800 for the bakery! Want that super special pony that's limited only to the weekend? BOOM! GOTTA BUY A 50 DOLLAR BONUS PACKAGE INCLUDING NOTHING BUT TREES!!! At least I get the experience of Hasbro's CEO. All I'm missing is a stamp titled, "DMCA". There's really not much to say about this game. Buy the souls of your favorite characters, then buy some other characters that've never been in the show and force them to work in your mediocre bathhouses. It's pretty much the game of "Life: Brony Edition". BUY OUR TOYS; YOU CANNOT RESIST -RealityPublishing Edit: The animations are still kinda cute, though. A little awkward at times (recycled animations for every single pony), but still very, very cute.
  3. Hello everypony, I've encountered a glitch related to the forum software. From my experience I know, that IPB doesn't handle special characters very well. By special characters I mean various symbols and emojis coming from the depths of the Windows' Character Map etc.. I know, that it's possible to easily corrupt things here and there to make them not view-able anymore. However, I didn't know about this one, because I haven't tried that yet. What's wrong? I can't view messages when clicking the letter icon to open the messenger. It opens, but it gets stuck loading forever and eventually closing back. How does it look like? The conversation's topic looks like this: Basically, these are unsupported by forum characters/symbols. The forum replaces these with <?> symbols, that cause issues later on. Now when I'll click the letter icon on the panel, I can only see that loading.gif : ~And nothing can be loaded. This pony keeps going and going. Is there any workaround? Yes, there is. I can always right-click the letter icon and open it in a new tab. That opens the Messenger Screen, where it shows all conversations: Everything works as it should from there. Solution Deleting this conversation solved the issue, as simply it removed the special characters from the list, so they don't have to be loaded anymore. Sorry for bothering; thanks for reading, ~Rikifive
  4. it's always fun to see technicians and programmers being creative with hardware and modding consoles to run other program systems. And last time it gave me an question; Is it possible to mod a PS4/Xbox One to run Windows 7? I think it could be possible since, especially, PS4's components are compatible with Direct3D and the hardware architecture is almost familiar with the PC. And recently the PS4 got jailbreaked to run Linux without problems. How about you? Do you love to do/see others experimenting with hardware/software?
  5. Hello, I was wondering if anyone knows of a good In-Browser Animation Software so... do you?
  6. I have spent like.. 2 hours scouring the Internet looking for cheap or free alternatives to Adobe Flash Pro (which i hear is the best and stuff) But the pricing is just way too steep for my minimal budget Seriously.. Adobe Flash Pro is apparently like.. $42 a month.. WUT?! I've already got Inkscape, and GIMP and they're awesome (especially Inkscape for making still vector art) but they don't have the option to animate.. not without having to spend hours and hours shifting every little vertex to pose it, export it then repeating until it's done.. What I'm looking for is Free (Or like.. $30 maximum) 2D animation software with vector and bone/armature features so i can animate with ease, i really wanna try and animate some ponies and if that works out i might try animating some other 2D stuff as well, like anime.. Searching though the Internet for this i found a lot of dead ends or programs that just didn't cut it for me.. I've Tried Synfig Studio, It was way to buggy and unusable for me.. despite seemingly being the most promising.. And I've Tried Pencil2D which was meant to have vector features but i was mislead.. I really want to get Anime studio 10 as i saw one video on the interface, rigging and stuff and it seems perfect, but it was $50.. I'd be fine if it was $30ish but not $50.. I searched high and low for an older version that may be cheaper or free but couldn't find any But yeah.. Can somepony please help me out here? I'm a little lost and i really wanna animate some ponies and stuff but without a good program to do so.. I'm stuck.. Thanks in advance ~AURA EDIT: Please.. this is driving me crazy.. Not a single good program i can find..
  7. Windows 10 Discussion Hai this is a discussion for people who have windows 10 and those who dont have windows 10 but unsure if they should make the change. I myself have windows 10 and can answer some questions, if your curious about certain features or how it differs between the old operating systems Anyone can answer the questions posted here, this is a shared discussion.
  8. I'm wondering what office software everyone uses, and why do you use it? I use Libreoffice 4. I use it because it runs on GNU/Linux, not to mention that I don't like Microsoft and their products. I'm a bit surprised that I couldn't find a thread on this topic already.
  9. Hi Everypony! I am looking into creating some simple tunes and I have no idea what softwear to get and where to start! I know there are many talented musicians on his forum and was just wondering what you guys use and why !
  10. What hardware and software run Poniverse and the forums? I'm curious to know all the nuts and bolts.
  11. Hi everypony! : D I have found a very nice PowerPoint alternative. It is called Prezi (you can check it out here: www.prezi.com) I was really bored of that every presentation in my school is made with PowerPoint. Then I made my last homework with Prezi and the other students and the teacher were amazed. Everybody asked such things: "How have you done this?" or "How could you make it in PowerPoint?". Hehe... that was fun. So if you want to be "different", feel free to use this great software (it has a free version too, which can be used for 30 days). /)*(\ *brohoof*
  12. Hmm, so I finally decided to give the music part of the fandom a shot too, having experienced in both the art and the writing parts of the fandom. But I don't know where to start, and getting a music making software is probably one of the first things I want to do. Fellow composers, do you have any good music making softwares for recommendation? I would list my specific requirements here. - The ability to generate both orchestral and electronic music. - The ability to import music from external sources (since I'm most likely gonna start with remixes first) I would hope it's free but if there is really no other choice I'm fine to cough up a few bucks for one. Anyways, hope someone could give a newbie some tips and such. ^.^
  13. Hello! So recently I have been wanting to get into doing 2D animations, I have done 3D things for a while now (a couple years) in blender, so I have a decent bit of experience with modeling and animation, the work flow and such. But on to my real question: If I was to get into doing 2D animations what programs are good for this? I would want it to be very capable, as easy to use as possible (but not dumbed down) good for art assets (drawing characters) and worth using. It would also be nice if it had good documentation to learn from. A prime example of what I would be using it for is making MLP animations. The program does not have to be free, although free is always best, I can't go and spend hundreds of dollars on a random program, so I guess my top price would be about $50. Any help is good help, Thanks!
  14. Yea basically i want to drawing using drawing tablets and software but don't know what kind/make i should get. What do you use or what would you suggest ? Thanks
  15. Hello there. I've created that topic, just to post my SFM works So, if you want one, talk to me (PS: I've not downloaded the ponies models yet, but will be pretty hard, because they should put in the sfm workshop, but bleh.)
  16. What would you recommend to someone who's looking for some cheap simple video editing software that can still produce a nice finished product. I'm looking to get into making youtube videos, and though they will be more informational and not need any fancy effects and whatnot, I of course still need some means of editing. Thanks in advance
  17. So I'm writing a software called Autoshipper, basically it automatically ships two random characters, I don't know if I should have it be exclusively mlp, or not, and if not if I should include every mlp background character or what. Please give me advice.
  18. I'm looking to make a few OC drawings but have nooo idea what software to use. Right now, I have ms paint and it's really low quality. I'd like to get rid of the pixelization look...any advice on how to make ms paint files less blocky? Is there another program I can use to make my OC stuff? I've already tried general zoi but I want to tilt the head and body.
  19. In this day and age were we take photos like maniacs and uploaded to websites and what not, we forgot that now some photos have a gps data encoded in them specially if you are taking pics whit a cellphone, and even tho some websites take that info away when you upload a picture most of other websites dont, here is a video explaining that and what can you do to prevent someone from knowing were you uploaded the photo: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nfNv9R2oBzU As you can see in the video the programs is free, and while im not in to selfies or a photo maniac it does show what some people are willing to go thru to find out your personal info so be careful when uploading photos to certain websites specially personal ones about you and/or family.
  20. Hey, So I am wanting to create an MSPA webcomic of my own and I am unsure of what software would be best for me to use. I was thinking that I could use an illustrator software similar to adobe illustrator but I don't have the cash to actually buy adobe illustrator. Does anyone here know of any cheap or free illustrator programs that I could use to produce my web comic?
  21. I recently got a Dazzle capture card to record my console footage with, but the footage didn't come out exactly how I wanted it to. I'm also having trouble in the microphone department, too. Does anypony know of any console recording equipment and microphones that are of quality and affordable?
  22. So what's the piece of software that you use most and is there a certain one you'd like to learn? Can we exclude web browsers and game clients. Otherwise i think every second response would be Google Chrome or Steam haha For me i use Autodesk 3D Studio Max. Only because i want to be a Visual Effects Artist and it's, arguably, the best thing for the job. Something i want to learn is Zbrush. It's a modelling package and pretty much the best in it's class. Chances are a lot of the CGI characters you have see in movies are made with it. Learning FL Studio would be pretty handy as well.
  23. I have a laptop, an internet connection, a pair of headphones, and an interest in having a go at electronic music production. Using only these, and free software, and free articles legally availlable on trustworthy parts of the internet, is it possible for me to start doing electronic music production? Also which guides and software are best and where are they?
  24. I've been looking for some recording software to record what's onscreen on my computer, preferably software that can hook up to a mic as well. I don't really know what to look for, as I'm just going to do some let's plays. It'd really help if it could be free and without any viruses too. Can someone please link if they know of some? If anything, thank you for taking the time to read
  25. So I've been drawing quite a lot the past couple of months (compared to my earlier activity, not others~), and so far I'm very satisfied with Paint Tool SAI as my drawing-program... However, I recently heard about Manga Studio. I looked at it, and found the Manga Studio 4 Debut is actually kind of cheap... So what I heard is that Manga Studio is better (in some ways at least). Anyways, my question is: Is it worth getting and at least trying out Manga Studio? Is it any good/better compared to Paint Tool SAI and other programs such as Photoshop?
