How competitive are you when it comes to something you care about? It can be a game that you enjoy playing, trying to be the best in your class, pretty much anything competitive. Hmm I'd say I'm pretty competitive, but I'm not as hardcore about winning as much as some people I know. If I tried my best and put up a good fight but lost in the end, that's not too bad. I mainly hate losing at something when I know I could've won if I hadn't made some stupid mistake. So what about you guys?

One thing I could never understand is why people enjoy watching sports so much. I find watching sports to be ungodly boring, both on TV and in real life. I mean, isn't the fun of athletics all in the rush of competition, self exertion, teamwork, and the joys of victory? Wouldn't people rather be doing that themselves, instead of simply watching other people play? I don't see the point in it. Athletics seems like one of those things you need to be doing first hand to find the fun in it. TL;DR - Sports are fun, watching them is not.

Anypony here a fan of NASCAR? Who's your favorite driver of today or of past & why. Do you prefer a certain type of car (Ford, Chevy, Toyota, Dodge-which is now no longer in NASCAR) Have you gone to any races? To those who dislike NASCAR, why do you dislike it? What do you think about the most recent major accident causing 28 fans to be injured? __________________________________ Carl Edwards is my #1, then Matt Kenseth. Carl has a great attitude and is honest and fun. Oh, and look at him shirtless... (I liked him before I found out how great he looked!) Matt is from my state, Wisconsin. I also like his style For past drivers, Alan Kulwicki and Rusty Wallace. RIP Alan... he did what no one else attempted, came from up north... he was a Wisconsin driver, started from nothing, turned down big teams to drive for himself... won the championship in 92 as the Underbird as they changed the car's name to... Died in 93 in a plane crash. Rusty is just a great guy and driver... plain and simple. Was always cool to watch him race, he also makes a good announcer. I'm a Ford girl... so I AM disappointed Matt is no longer with Ford Racing. Never been to a race... want to though. This last wreck was just horrible... I really hope the fans are okay, they go there to enjoy a race, not get hurt... although they do assume some 'responsibility' in going to the races knowing a freak accident may happen... and this one mirrored the Edwards/Keslowski wreck in Talledega a few yrs ago... So everyone knows there IS a risk. Even though I don't like Stewart his reaction was real good and classy... he didn't celebrate his win, he was worried for the fans. As for Keslowski, part of the accident does fall on him, he knew Regan would block and never let of the gas. bit similar to the Talledega one, but in that video Carl blocks him but he also moves up into Carl... I do dislike Keslowski a lot though... he is a punk of the sport... shown it in interviews and how he drives. -_- (not just talkin bout these 2 wrecks I mentioned.) Also I really love this sport, there is much more to it than "driving in circles & left turns" as many see it.. There's so many things to it! Strategy, passion, speed, cars...

An awesome era of professional Seattle football has come to an end Sources - Seattle Seahawks agree to trade QB Russell Wilson to Denver Broncos, get three players, picks (espn.com) Report: Seahawks trade QB Russell Wilson to Broncos (yahoo.com) Broncos acquiring Seahawks QB Russell Wilson in trade including Drew Lock, multiple picks, players (nfl.com) The Seattle Seahawks, in blockbuster terms, have traded their star quarterback Russell Wilson to the Denver Broncos And adding insult to injury, the Seahawks have released their star linebacker Bobby Wagner into free agency Seattle Seahawks releasing longtime defensive captain Bobby Wagner, source says (espn.com) As much as I love the Seahawks for the 12th Man and their loud crowd noises at Lumen Field, I am a very sad pony that this has ended. Let us proudly remember the Seattle Seahawks, a team still stuck with ONE D RING, being wimps to the San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Rams in the NFC West, even the Arizona Cardinals will have momentum over them in the years to come. Wilson, going to the very team that not only got their mighty horse butts handed to them by the Seahawks in Super Bowl XLVIII with a 43 to 8 score, but also the same team that fell into mediocrity after Peyton Manning won them Super Bowl 50 on February 7th, 2016. Nothing we or Seahawks fans can do but wish Russell Wilson the best in Denver

Link: https://apnews.com/article/tom-brady-retires-8ec48cdfdcc5f0dd4650b0572dd15252 What an unbelievable career. Seven Super Bowl wins in ten appearances, 5-time SB MVP, 3-time NFL MVP (and may win another). 14 playoff game-winning drives, the only QB with 600 passing TDs (624), 84,520 passing yards. His elite résumé earned him a trip to Canton a long time ago. In fact, split his career into the three decades of his life (20, 30s, and 40s); each of them are HoF careers on their own. His greatest win (and what sealed his status as the GOAT in both the QB position and the NFL altogether) was the overtime victory in SB LI against Atlanta: a 28-3 comeback on the grandest stage; no other team had a bigger Super Bowl comeback than ten points. See you in Canton in five years, GOAT!

One gut-wrenching and very unthinkable playoff journey we’ve had everypony. It’s come to this, 4 teams are now left, but two will survive on one day. Winning a conference champion trophy is the ticket to the Super Bowl. The Kansas City Chiefs have proven to be a huge pain in the butt for every team that stood in their way on their very loud home turf. Only the Cincinnati Bengals, coached by Zac Taylor and led by Joe "Cool" Burrow, are the last that plan to deny the Chiefs a 3rd consecutive Super Bowl trip On the other side of the country, the mighty dynasty San Francisco 49ers travel to SoFi Stadium to deal with the Los Angeles Rams in a powerful NFC West showdown and 1st one in 8 years This is a big deal that coach Kyle Shanahan and QB Jimmy Garoppolo have to contend with, being these Rams, who deeply denied Tom Brady more rings, need one more win to play the Super Bowl in their home stadium There is no way the football gods are letting a 2nd consecutive team get this opportunity, right? Being the Rams are led by Matthew Stafford, the very guy who played many awful football years for the Detroit Lions AFC Championship Game at Arrowhead Stadium (CBS) 3:05 p.m. EST Bengals vs. Chiefs NFC Championship Game at SoFi Stadium (FOX) 6:40 p.m. EST 49ers vs. Rams Y’all be ready for them.

A new NFL season is upon us ponies. The bad news is that COVID has grasped its filthy hands onto football for a second season. Worsening matters, we have variants that are putting stains on it The League has also enforced strict vaccine rules, some harsh enough to make teams forfeit games if even a single player gets sick Let’s rundown excitement and mayhem of all 32 teams, shall we? NFC North Starting with the Green Bay Packers, fans were driven nuts when Aaron Rodgers hosted several episodes of Jeopardy!, took a vacation to Hawaii, played golf and grew long hair. The fans feared in apes when Rodgers didn’t show up in involuntary team workouts, three-day minicamp and that he might leave the team. Rest assured Packers fans, Rodgers is committed to play in Green Bay this season, “Michael Jordan: Last Dance” style. The Packers just need to live up to this emotional story. The Chicago Bears are heading in apes to a quarterback controversy. Old man Andy Dalton is the starter. The rookie Justin Fields is stuck sitting and learning on the sidelines. The Bears may not even remain in Soldier Field after this. The Minnesota Vikings maybe stuck in average and destined to crack open another bottle of depressing drink. HC Dan Campbell got a serving of QB Jared Goff to be buried in misery of Detroit Lions AFC North Bones to pick in this division and first concern is the Baltimore Ravens. They have running back injury bug tying up their wings. Not gonna fall for positive vibes the Cleveland Browns have. Que to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Another glorious helping of grumpy old Big Ben. Got front row seats to a tasty helping of Days of Our Steelers Small hope that QB Joe Burrow can fully recover and lead the Cincinnati Bengals out of the sewer jungle. NFC East Second year under Ron Rivera, the WASHINGTON FOOTBALL TEAM is beefed with a stunning defense. But that’s not all, that magic guy with the beard, Ryan Fitzpatrick is their QB. Next is Dallas, where DEM COWBOYS booked a sload of cameras from Hard Knocks. Funny words and glorious sweat in detail on the field. Are we getting locker room episodes for this? Now for the Giants, just because HC Joe Judge was ticked off that he couldn’t get to the playoffs doesn’t mean his QB, Daniel Jones will fire on cylinders. Funny DERP season as usual, top the fact that its players are fighting each other. Finally, Philadelphia, QB Jalen Hurts is taking flight with Eagles that may crash into some graves AFC East The Buffalo Bills put together hope of clinching their division and being huge playoff contenders. One step away from getting back to the Super Bowl, as long as they don’t move to Austin, Texas Things are looking up for the Miami Dolphins. QB Tua Tagovailoa is taking full leadership of the team. That one pop song from the Hotline Miami soundtrack is playing. Sweetie Belle has setup a giftshop selling Dolphins Jerseys with her face on it Very happy time in this division with colorful rainbows and sunshine that will be around many years to WARNINGRED ALERTDIVISION RIVAL INCOMINGTAKE COVERHIDE IN THE BUNKEREVIL COACH Sweet Celestia No! Football’s Evil Empire, the New England Patriots, are loaded with new weapons, Imperial Star Destroyers and missiles. And Bill Belichick has finally found the Pats’ Kylo Ren, rookie QB Mac Jones. Pain and suffering enforced in their tyranny! But the bright side to this, JETS CRASH AND BURN NFC South The G.O.A.T. went to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and got them their second Super Bowl title. Now Tom Brady has to defend the title, lightsaber down the Patriots and lock-in a better winning season to clinch their division. With Matt Rhule coaching in his second year, the Carolina Panthers are sure to be thorns in the Saints’ flesh as long as Sam Darnold doesn’t goof up Now Orleans looks doomed with the Famous Jameis Turnover Bakery. We finally head south to Georgia where fresh graves have been dug for all Falcons. Dark Times for Dead Dirty Birds and Josh Rosen AFC South Heartache because COVID knows how to hit the Tennessee Titans hard But they should recover because they have onboard one dangerous dude, WR Julio Jones The Colts have Carson Wentz on their buffet, but he and T.Y. Hilton have been struck with injury bug. On to Florida, since they have rookie QB Trevor Lawrence leading them, the Jacksonville Jaguars should be able to finally bust out of their butt-smelling cage. Sorry Houston Texans, you guys are stuck in your laughable muck NFC West Great job San Francisco 49ers, you got control panels to make the best of a quarterback controversy with Jimmy Garoppolo and the rookie Trey Lance. George Kittle is gonna be tortured over which of them will fill the resume as his best bro. Second is the Los Angeles Rams. Sean McVay is cranking up fame and fortune off old man Matthew Stafford. The Rams hope they will be the second team to play the Super Bowl in their home stadium. Hefty worry on all levels for the Seattle Seahawks if Russell Wilson can’t survive on the running game he wants. Words for the Arizona Cardinals? Be prepared to fly into asteroid fields AFC West Having to tolerate cobwebs last season, the new Las Vegas NFL stadium will be loaded with a full-fledged crowd cheering THE RAIDERS QB controversy was expected for the Broncos. Terry Bridgewater and Drew Lock taking the football field of Orange Crush. Both these teams hopefully can deliver long overdue kryptonite on the Chiefs following that bloated hangover. And the Chargers can die in their own filth for all I care What teams do you ponies think will endure massive success this year?

Just curious to see what everyone's favorite boxer/mma fighter. In terms of boxing my favorite is Ron Lyle, an underrated heavyweight slugger who was feared by many during the 1970's I don't watch UFC or Bellator.

During March through May 2020, on the sports site Secret Base, two guys known as Jon Bois and Alex Rubenstein, did a 6-part Dorktown documentary series about the History of the Seattle Mariners. A Major League Baseball team that these guys say is “eminently lovable, profoundly human, and stunningly, outrageously weird.” And as a “fascinating team across the entire history of American sports.” The Mariners started playing games in 1977. https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=dorktown+mariners+supercut Now Bois and Rubenstein are at it again with a 7-part Dorktown documentary series about the History of the Atlanta Falcons Yeah, the team that started playing games in 1966 Going by calculations, with part 1 coming in August, we’ll be getting an episode every month. And to fully conclude February 2022 before Valentine’s Day with Super Bowl LVI happening in Los Angeles. Warning advisory for some bad language. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gUXkiXiTGjQ At centerpiece of this video is the high stakes football game involving our supposed “hero” against Boston’s Evil Empire of the NFL and not that very assumed tough team in Pittsburgh https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z-Zgtm-g4Co Super Bowl LI Fueled with political flamed air on February 5th, 2017. In Houston, Texas and not far a distance of a dishonest and most hated Major League Baseball team up the road. And word of unfortunate warning to the Mane 6, all ponies and even all of Fluttershy’s animals, ready the Ambulance and please say you’ll find a crying Scootaloo and brace her with loads of hugs She’s going to need all the heartbreak and misery lifted off her On the other side of this, our chicken Scootaloo, or should I say our chocking chicken is an Atlanta Falcons fan. That scene in “The Washouts” episode of MLP: FiM where Scootaloo gets yelled at by Spitfire (A.K.A. a Philadelphia Eagles fan) makes a ton of sense now. Before that there was “Sleepless in Ponyville” where Scootaloo was scared to s over those scary stories Rainbow Dash told her. Chicken Scootaloo came back in “Campfire Tales”. Now she has numbers to fear for blowing it, 28-3. Pile on the Scootaloo, chicken, chocking and Atlanta Falcons memes on this thread if you must

Who of you cubes? For how long have you been cubing? What's your main event? What are your PBs? I just wanna find cubers and talk cubing. I've been cubing for about 10 years, maybe 11, but I've gone through several long hiatuses and was held back financially for a long time at the beginning (and even now really) so my times don't seem like those of someone who has been cubing for that long. I've tried being an all-rounder for a while but then realized I was never gonna get as far as I want that way so I pretty much dropped most events and just pick them up casually from time to time. My main events are 3x3, 4x4, 5x5. OH, and megaminx. My PB singles for those events are: 3x3 - 8.33, 4x4 - 48.343, 5x5 - 1:50.504, OH - 17.69, megaminx - 1:03.539.

In case you ponies are bored on many levels or annoyed fully with unexpected late April winter keeping your indoors, watching on TV the NFL Draft during Thursday April 29th through Saturday May 1st surely won’t hurt. ESPN ABC NFL Network Three solid days of seeing the names of college football athletes going pro, but with unpredictability involving a certain team drafting him or them. The long grueling hours and the looks we are all going to have at our TV to see if a favorite team makes the right picks. Entering Round 1 of the NFL Draft, the Kansas City Chiefs, Los Angeles Rams, Seattle Seahawks and Houston Texans do not have picks when this big three-day event starts. Keep in mind though, there are also a few occasions a team will trade a pick to another team, moving up or down the draft board. Moving up means more money to spend on a pick. Moving down means less money to spend on a pick. I challenge you ponies out there with nothing to do to have your filthy rumps parked on the couch and cheer or go ballistic for what draft choices your favorite team makes. Will it be a draft class that that is graded best or is terrible? It’s a big deal, given 6 top quarterbacks are on the board. Trevor Lawrence of Clemson Justin Fields of Ohio State Zach Wilson of BYU Trey Lance of North Dakota Mac Jones of Alabama Kyle Trask of Florida Anyhow, let’s get to many questions below what’s at stake. Will the Browns lock in the right picks to create an outstanding team knowing the very fact that this year’s NFL Draft is in their home city? Do the Jaguars leave their poop covered habitat if they lock in Trevor Lawrence and prove he is their man? Will the Buccaneers, the Defending Home Super Bowl Champions, lock in one pick that will prove vital for Tom Brady and has pirate gang to repeat? Can the Chiefs get what they need to recover from that lousy Super Bowl Hangover of 31 to 9? Do THE RAIDERS draft the needed picks to diminish Patrick Mahomes of his crazy throws? Will the Packers settle on the best picks so that Aaron Rodgers won’t leave Green Bay? Do the Bears supply Andy Dalton with talent to keep their fans a little happy? Do the Jets stick to their tradition of laughable draft picks? Will Patriots head coach Bill Belichick use his usual evil tactics for picking the best athletes to succeed without Tom Brady, Rob Gronkowski and Julian Edelman? Will the Washington Name Redacted score big in the draft to aide Ryan Fitzpatrick, best known as Fitzmagic? Can Dem Cowboys land the best offensive lineman that will satisfy Dak Prescott of his new 4-year contract? Can the Saints prove that their no turnover machine following the retirement of Drew Brees? Does Rams head coach Sean McVay prove he’s no Bill O’ Brian 2 point 0 when loading talent around Matthew Stafford? Can the Steelers survive on just draft picks when their grumpy old man Ben Roethlisberger turns down retirement as usual? Will the Cardinals take things to the next level when J.J. Watt, James Conner and Malcolm Butler will now be playing for them? Can the Texans, as Scaceballs would say “DO SOMETHING”?
-
Well football ponies, we knew this day would come Drew Brees, NFL's all-time leading passer, retires (yahoo.com) Two decades of throwing the ball in the NFL and 9 playoff wins, Drew Brees has now called it a career. Retiring from football to commit to his family. Entering the 2001 NFL Draft. Playing for the San Diego Chargers and finally the New Orleans Saints, winning a lone Super Bowl championship for the latter in the 2009 NFL season. Given all the heroics he’s made winning against all 32 teams, achieving 80,358 career yards and 571 career touchdowns, so many heroics. Unlike some big clunky donning the number 7 jersey wearing "leader of men" NFL quarterback in Pittsburgh who doesn’t know when to quit. The New Orleans Saints won’t be the same without him. It’s proud and sad he’s hanging up the heroic number 9 jersey and walking away from the game for good.

Given there are few teams we care about so much, how’s about we talk kindly about them with gentle regard when things fall flat. I’ll start with one such team. The Pittsburgh Steelers are the only team that strikes me as menacing Given their name Steelers, which makes me think of the Terminator. They keep falling short to the New England Patriots in the playoffs. Not only that, but they haven’t added more Lombardi Trophies to their collection after winning Super Bowl XLIII against Kurt Warner’s Arizona Cardinals. If I could pity them, Antonio Brown and Le’Veon Bell (google them) weren’t the right people to play for the Steelers. We all know their two Super Bowl loses to Troy Aikman’s Dallas Cowboys and Aaron Rodgers’ Green Bay Packers. If success to acquire 7 or more Super Bowl championships is ever going to come for them, it’s not going to happen with Ben Roethlisberger or Mike Tomlin.
-
Well ponies, the final stage is set The defending Super Bowl LIV champion Kansas City Chiefs will head to Tampa Bay to play the Buccaneers who have made history to be the first team to play the Super Bowl in their home stadium. Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs are going to have a lot of trouble as the Buccaneers (who won Super Bowl XXXVII back in 2002) aim to win it all on their home turf led by the G.O.A.T. Tom Brady February 7th Sunday 6:40 p.m. EST on CBS Who do you think is going to win?

One jam packed playoff journey we’ve had everypony. It’s come to this, 4 teams are now left, but two will survive on one day. Winning a conference champion trophy is the ticket to the Super Bowl. Aaron Rodgers is a BAD MAN but he and the Packers are in the crosshairs of the traveling Buccaneers, the team that just so happens to attempt its first Home Super Bowl appearance in Tampa, led by the G.O.A.T. Tom Brady The Chiefs had their troubles, but the defending Super Bowl champions made it. The Bills surprised everyone and have made it to this level. Sunday, January 24th, the matchups are set. NFC Championship Game at Lambeau Field (FOX) 3:05 p.m. EST Buccaneers vs. Packers AFC Championship Game at Arrowhead Stadium (CBS) 6:40 p.m. EST Bills vs. Chiefs Y’all be ready for them.

https://www.mlb.com/news/phil-niekro-dies-at-81 Affectionately nicknamed "Knucksie," Niekro's the best knuckleball pitcher of all-time, and his résumé backs it up. His 318 wins is the most by a knuckleballer. Over the course of his 24-year career, he compiled a 162-game average of 14-12 (averaging 233 innings) with a career 3.35 ERA. He pitched in 864 games and started 716 of them (all but one after turning 28 years old), his first in 1965 when the Braves were still in Milwaukee. His 716 starts is fifth-most all-time. The only ones ahead (from #4-1) are all Hall of Famers: Greg Maddux, Don Sutton, Nolan Ryan, and Cy Young. He logged in 5404 innings, fourth-most all time and the most in the live-ball era (1920-present). Only Walter Johnson, Pud Galvin, and Cy (#3-1) have more. At the time of retirement, his 3342 strikeouts were seventh-most all-time. Since then, four pitchers (Bert Blyleven, Clemens, Randy Johnson, & Maddux) passed him. Pitched his only no-hitter in 1973. For a starting pitcher or position player, 60 Baseball-Reference WAR (aka, bWAR) makes you a considerable candidate for the Hall of Fame. He finished his career with 95.9 bWAR; his 97.0 pitching bWAR is 11th-most all time. During his peak from 1974-79, he achieved the following: Averaged 7.9 WAR per season, including an even 10.0 in 1978. Went 108-97 and averaged a 3.21 ERA (good for 125 ERA+). Led the NL in wins twice. Led the NL or majors in complete games four times (1974, '77-'79). Pitched 300 or more innings four times ('74, '77-'79). From 1977-'79, he pitched 330.1, 334.1, and 342 (!) innings, respectively; he's the last pitcher to throw 300+ innings in consecutive seasons. (No pitcher has thrown 300+ regular-season innings since Steve Carlton in 1980.) Led the majors in starts four times (1977-'80), including a three-year stretch ('77-'79) of 43, 42, & 44 games started, respectively. Since then, only one other pitcher (knuckleballer Charlie Hough in 1987) started at least 40 games. After he turned 40 on April 1, 1979: Won 121 games after the age of 40, a record. Pitched 1977 innings. Started 294 games. Struck out 1148 batters. Threw 62 complete games, including a MLB-high 23 in 1979. Was an All-Star in 1982 and 1984 (the latter at age 45); he had five altogether. Won four of his five Gold Gloves after turning 40. Holds the record for being the oldest pitcher to throw a complete game (June 25, 1987 at 48 years old). At the time of his retirement, he was the oldest to pitch a shutout (at 46 years & 188 days old to get career win #300; more on that below), which would be eclipsed in 2010 by Jamie Moyer. Although he was known for his knuckleball, in Niekro's last start for both the Yankees and the 1985 season altogether, he relied mostly on fastballs and changeups to a woozy Toronto Blue Jays' B-squad (the team won their first AL East title the day before while playing their best players, so they were all [hung over ] on the bench). He didn't throw one until the final pitch of the game, notching his 300th win: (It was also his 45th and final shutout of his career.) The last player born in the 1930s, before the start of WWII, and the third-to-last in the Silent Generation (behind Greg Nettles and Tommy John) to play in the Major Leagues. The Braves retired his #35 in 1984 (while he was still playing) and was elected to the Hall of Fame on his fifth ballot in 1997. You can read more of his great facts here: https://www.mlb.com/news/phil-niekro-career-statistical-breakdown Phil wasn't the only Niekro knuckleballer. His younger brother, Joe, won 221 games and a championship in 1987 with the Twins. At 539 career wins, the Niekro brothers have the most combined wins by any pair in baseball history. This man's one of the greatest players of all-time, and he'll be missed. RIP, Knucksie.

Two months ago an investigation was started by Major League Baseball looking into allegations of the 2017 Houston Astros stealing signs during the World Series. I tried my best to keep away from the drama, but now, based on MLB’s findings, the allegations were confirmed. Commissioner Rob Manfred has handed down a handful of punishments to the organization. The teams general manager Jeff Luhnow and field manager AJ Hinch were both suspended for the 2020 season without pay, but team owner Jim Crane was spared. Crane announced that both Hinch and Luhnow have been fired from their positions following the findings, which include former starter Mike Fiers admitting that they used a hidden camera to steal signs for what pitches to expect. The Astros have also been fined 5 million dollars, which is the highest allowable fine under league constitution, and will not have first or second round draft picks in 2020 or 2021. I’ve provided a link to the official news article from MLB.Com about the situation, which includes a PDF report released over the investigations findings. As a hardcore MLB fan, I’ve found this news rather odd at first, but now that the word is out that they did all this, I just can’t believe how other fans must be feeling https://www.mlb.com/news/astros-sign-stealing-penalty

I was thinking back to my days as a kid when I took karate classes at the local mall. I was influenced to do it by my being a fan of Power Rangers and Street Fighter. I really had fun with it and made it to blue belt. The school was very well structured, and the instructors were very good. It had classes based on belt level. I didn't partake in the tournaments. I did it just for fun. Although I never made it to black belt, I'm pretty proud of how I did there. Have you ever taken karate or any other martial arts? If so, what were some of your experiences doing it?
