  1. Just as the title said, The user/avatar above you is most likely (to)..... example: TBD is most likely to die from boredom
  2. Haven't been having the greatest day today, and felt like something light-hearted. I'm trying to make and maintain some actual friendships on here since I'm still fairly new to the mlp community!
  3. Hello, I was wondering if any of you lot have dreamt about the show? I have, and I'll share mine. I once dreamt that I was watching an episode in which Zecora was pregnant and the father was some other zebra but we never got to meet him. And I was wondering what Zecora would be like as a mother. I had another dream in which Mum and I were watching an episode that began with Zecora sleeping under a tree and sleep-talking about three characters named Olivia, Baby Olivia, and Jake and I thought that was odd as her sleep-talking didn't rhyme. This dream was not exactly about MLP, but it was mentioned and a little boy in the dream said "Remember that episode where Zecora really needed a wee and then Pinkie Pie wanted to play a prank on Zecora?" and I was like "There's no such episode" (P.S. If there was, what would that episode be like?) In another dream I had, Zecora was angry and not speaking. :/ And in another dream I had, I found out that Princess Luna and an unnamed prince were actually the parents of Applejack, Big Mac and Apple Bloom, and I was, like, talking to the ponies and I said "Hey, Apple Bloom, if your parents are a unicorn and an Alicorn, why are you all Earth ponies?" and she just said "Genetics are weird". Also, Luna in the dream was all serious and kept saying "c'est la vie" like it was her catchphrase or something. So, have you dreamt about the show and if you have, what was the dream like? P.S. I don't know why I seem to dream about Zecora all the time.
  4. I think we've been here long enough for one of these threads. So like the title says, how famous is the user above you, or in other words, how often do you see them on the forums? Give a rating from 1 to 10. Example: Lady Rarity Pony 10/10 I see you in nearly every thread.

  8. So this is a "back of the good o' days" game I did in the old forum I used to be in. Just a thought of sharing it to this forum. Just as the title said, The User (or their avatar's, since many tends to be mixed between the two) above made a confession to you, what are they? As stephen colbert said, "I don't know if they're consider "sin" but I do feel bad about them."

  10. You know, YouTube isn't the enjoyable site it used to be but still a wonderful place to watch original videos by content creators. though that isn't the case there at all, no no.... There is always that community that is actually a mix of Love, Hate, Salt, Insults, Weird Stuff, More Insults (and Flame wars), and etc. and you know what community i am talking about yes, i am talking about the YouTube Community and although the YouTube community may have Few Nice people there, that doesn't mean the same for the rest of the YT community, The YT community is probably one of the most Flaming Communities i have seen and let me set and example for this, when you watch a video regarding a console boosting up sales or PC being the biggest market for game and finish watching it you would be like ''Yes! that awesome, lemme check the comments here'' then you click on the comments and what do you see? Trolls Starting to cause Flamewars and A crapton of Console fanboys insulting PC users and you would be like ''Why'' And The problem gets worse when it comes to bronies (us). so Say that you are yourself, browsing YouTube, then you decide to comment on the video on how the video was great and etc, then you go away for a few hours, and then 2 hours later, you come back, you see 100+ replies, and those replies are people Calling You ''gay'' for having a Pony as your profile picture, and saying MLP is ''cancer'' . well, now you see my point here, YouTube may be a Good site for watching videos but the community is just salty and full of trolls that want to cause a lot of flamewars. Now I am not saying that we should insult Anti-Bronies or Try to stop these wars but these are just my personal opinions about the YT community as a whole. So, yes, this was my whole opinion on The YT community and how they treat each other in the comments. Thanks for reading.
  11. So do you recognize the user who just posted/who is above you? P.S I hope I'm posting this in the right forum.
  12. Anyone using 3D coat or the Steam Version of it? I can figure alot of people will want to say just use Blender "because it's free". But the voxel sculpting sounds so tempting and the auto re-topology sounds fantastic. Speaking of free, the price is what I mostly want to ask. Should I wait for a discount on Steam? I accumulated +$300 worth of spare change, but would it be more worth it if I wait a bit? Steam gave me that mentality I know but... still. Should I wait? Also sorry if there was a thread like this already.
  13. I made a group with a shitty name, its called The Legacy Of DoTA if anyone wants to join they are free to since its a public group. if anyone wants to be a mod in the group ask me via PM on the forums first please.
  14. Hello! Recently, I have been sending questionnaires to some of the members here to get to know them better. It has been pretty successful, and I've learned a lot of new things about some of the members here. Anyway, one of the members I gave a questionnaire to, Pink Mist, came up with the idea for me to post the results in a thread (thanks for the idea, by the way), so here it is. I'll put the actual questionnaire below first (feel free to fill out the questionnaire yourself, and post yours in this thread), and then I'll leave the results from the other users (don't worry, I asked each of them for their approval before posting.) Also, the members put "N/A" for questions they couldn't or didn't want to answer. Bye! Questionnaire: Favorite Color: Favorite Pony: Favorite TV Show: What country do you live in? Favorite Pokemon: Favorite Musical Artist: Favorite MLP Episode: Favorite Movie: Favorite Fanfiction: Favorite Song: Favorite Superhero: Favorite Animal: Favorite Board Game: Favorite Video Game: Favorite Video Game Console: Favorite Book: Favorite Fictional Character: Favorite Sport: Favorite Instrument: Member Responses: @Batbrony @Chigens and Kay @CITRUS KING46 @Colt @Dsanders @Eureka Rainbow Hash @Sterling Crimson
  15. Let's be honest with ourselves: 24-hour days suck. So, now that I'm off of school for spring break, I've moved onto a highly productive 31-hour schedule. Booyeah! Progress on has been lightning-fast as a result, and the main reason you haven't seen me blogging much about it lately is because I've been so focused on pushing out all the code I can. Today, I'd like to take some time between the coding to talk about a fundamental feature you'll run into a lot: the user profile. First things first: where do you physically live on It couldn't be simpler: How much better does it get? Keeping the URL's so short and simple makes them stupidly easy to remember and share. Meeting with a friend and want to tell him where to find your pony tunes? He'll probably remember "pony dot eff emm slash your name here" a lot better than "pony dot eff emm slash user slash four six nine seven two four one" or something else with an account ID in it. You're a human, not a number, and's profiles reflect that.'s profiles are divided into three sections: you, your content, and your social circle. You The header is all about showing people who you are, at a quick glance. With a huge avatar, your name front and centre, and a 250-character blurb to express yourself, it's truly your space on Here are a few headers from the alpha testing team: Your Content The cutest avatar means little for an artist's profile page if there's no content for potential listeners to enjoy. So, profiles put the stuff you've made on the left half of the page, in full view. Albums are up top. As they're larger and rarer than single releases, they receive a large, unmissable tile. Beneath them, you'll find a complete set of a user's tracks, in reverse chronological order and ready to listen to without even leaving the page. Your Social Circle One misconception I've observed as that is only for artists. Nothing could be further from the truth. With a central commenting framework, a meticulously designed notification system (it's better than the one here on MLP Forums), user-curated playlists, and more, comes battery-loaded for social interaction, and future development will only increase the richness of the experience. To that end, the right half of every profile is dedicated to your social presence on The users you follow and that you are followed by are shown in tabbed grids. Simple name/avatar blocks save space on your screen, and a paginated wall of profile comments appears below (currently, a page is created every 10 comments). Leaving a comment on someone's profile sends them a notification, but you won't receive one for leaving a comment on your own profile. The Future Web applications are never truly "complete", so there comes a point when I have to put the keyboard down and publish something for the world to see. However, that doesn't mean I can't keep making things better afterward; as a developer, I just need to set some priorities for what needs to make it into the MVP, and what I can procrastinate on while I hope it magically drops out of existence leave in the task tracker for later. So, here are a few ways in which I intend to improve profiles in the hopefully not-too-distant future: Ability to upload a background image for your profile header. Limit the number of tracks and albums shown straight-up on the profile, and push the full discography onto a dedicated page or two (ie. Make tracks on profiles a little less "samey" by displaying their cover art (if they have any) beside their inline players. Please remember that, as this is software development, intentions are not and cannot be treated as promises or guarantees that something will be implemented. However, all development begins with some form of intention, and these are three features I feel pretty sure about at this point.
  16. Here's a feature I've been wishing was available for a while now, as well as another idea. 1. The ability to follow users in much the same way as you can follow forums. Simply get a notification whenever they start a thread. Because I like to stalk people. 2. I think that all users should automatically follow Canterlot Castle, to make sure they know when news is posted. (I had the problem of forgetting to check it until I followed it). I'm afraid the answer will be "IP Board can't do it," but here's hoping. :3
  17. Hello, guys. Today I'm going to be talking about an awesome user, Pink Mist. She is rather new to the site, but has already made it clear that she is a great person, with her sig request shop. Her sigs are high quality, I personally think she is very talented. Not just that, but she likes to write, which is something I can appreciate, being a fellow writer. In addition, but she has made an that shows a tour of these very forums, which is amazing. You should check that out, give her a like, and a subscribe. From what I've seen, she's a really nice person and I'm really looking forward to her future participation in the forums. Brohoof to you, Pink Mist.
  18. Unofficial MLP Forum Census 2013 More info available in the thread here. This is an unofficial census I'm holding for the community. It will hopefully show our standing both in our beliefs and our standing in society, namely of the forum as a whole. This is a way that we can bring the community together all while generally learning more about the opinions and standing of the fellow members that we may or may not pay attention to otherwise. Some key points to mention: The results are anonymous The voting starts April 15th, and ends Midnight, May 1st (EST) If you quote the results of this census, please properly refer back to the thread or back to this blog if you are using data from this particular year. Answer all questions honestly to avoid distorting the data
  19. Simple game. Rate the user's weirdness above you from a scale of 0-10. By weirdness, I mean how strange the forum member is by means of things they've said or the way they act. There is no one above me. So, I'll just wait until someone rates me.
  20. So what I'm going to do here is just what the topic title says: Draw random users. You can recommend random users for me to draw, but they must have an OC or I can't draw them. Confused? Here is Random User Number 1:
  21. Is there anyone on the forum that you just think is, well... awesome? Anyone that just posts things left and right that you really enjoy? I do, although, I'm a pretty weird person, so maybe this isn't such a good thread idea. For example, I appreciate pretty much all of Bohtty's posts, because they're generally entertaining and/or informative. Although, I may just really like his avatar gif, and just overrate all his posts. Also, Silly Lily is another user that just randomly seems awesome to me. Still a muffin (at the time of posting this), Silly Lily's contributed new thread after new thread, that just turn out to be awesome. So if there's anyone who you just really enjoy the posts of, or that you are really good friends with, say so now! And why! But keep it non-creepy!
  22. What has been going on? I have seen quite a (few) people leaving the forums and it concerns me! If any of you know why people are just deciding to leave then let me know! * I guess you could say the big deal I am making here was because I was concerned that the forums have been on a decline as to the reason for people leaving. Which I do not want because I don't want to see that happen... *As I have seen the "negativity" that this topic has brought forth... I no longer have nothing to do with this topic, honestly I should have minded my own business in the first place. Am not going anywhere soon and made some great friends by joining this forum community. Also the people who have made what this community is now I thank you . So I have decided to leave this topic off with that.*
  23. We all know that My Little Pony and its fandom (including fan-work) is well-known throughout the internet and around the world, correct? But what is it about the show that really enhances its overall appeal? None other than the wonderful art created by the fandom itself, and it's all set up amazingly due to the immense charm that the show gives off. In regards to fanfiction, some of the stories you will read are well thought out and manage to capture each and every character with thorough precision and without leaving any doubt that he or she is this exact character from the show. In My Little Pony, the cornerstone of the topic of character design is largely in part of the very in-depth qualities that these characters have - in essence, much of the show is character-driven, and as such, many people may relate to the Mane 6 in many different ways in regards to their own lives and experiences. For example, as you know, Rainbow Dash is a headstrong, brash, and sometimes a bit self-centered, but at the same time is very caring towards her friends and epitomizes loyalty. With these character traits at hand, the story at hand can easily develop all of these traits and what you end up with at the end of the story is a "resolved" character who has matured from the aforementioned qualities in which he/she might have. This ties in nicely with the plot as well, given that whatever the circumstance is, the character's personality will decide what he/she wants to do. To this end, MLP is second to none when it comes to character presentation, and this was demonstrated very nicely in the episode "Party Of One" where we see Pinkie Pie being the fun and loving pony early on, but because she loved her friends dearly, she became highly paranoid at the thought of them abandoning her -- and thus she nearly went off the deep end. Although this is not a fanfiction, it nonetheless manages to convey that the characters are multi-dimensional who live, breathe, cry, and love, and are not stuck with just one trait. Because of this rather heavy influence, bronies who understand this concept are undoubtedly immediately sucked in to a story with such regards, although said story can also manage to capture the hearts of many other bronies who are not quite familiar with the characters and what they stand for on both an interpersonal and intrapersonal basis - even non-bronies. In regards to fanfiction though, the story "Cupcakes" managed to capture Pinkie Pie's "dark side", in that her hyper antics were merely a result of a state of psychosis - an ulterior of a subordinate trait, so to speak. Of course, there are many other forms of media in which the fandom can use to create their own little pony world, such as through music videos. While I've already stated that the show is character-driven, which is the catalyst for said music videos, the setting and plot in the PMV (Pony Music Video) undulate the plot and setting of MLP quite nicely. This can expand further into the realm of the characters themselves -- and the song choice would vividly represent who they are and what they stand for. Not only does it manage to convey the characters traits wonderfully, but it also gives off the vibe that the character at hand could even have yet another trait which would be foreseeable in the near future. For example, making a PMV out of Rainbow Dash with the song "Won't Back Down" by Eminem (this is not a current project, mind you. I only recently came up with this idea) -- the song itself presents itself in the way that the person "saying" the lyrics would not back down from a challenge no matter how big it was. As often stated in the show itself, this is one of Rainbow Dash's major qualities - she will not back down from a challenge. The fact that you have used this song in particular enhances whatever "strongheaded" qualities Rainbow Dash may have, such as her brashness. Of course, these PMVs are not just limited to the characters. They could be very well documenting anything from the minor aspects of the setting (Equestria) to the origin of Equestria itself (more of a digital fanfiction, if you will). Finally, we have music. Many bronies have made their own beats for the show and for all to enjoy, and this sends out a strong message to the community itself in which the show is so fantastic that they have even started to make their own music, or have even remixed the many songs heard in FIM. Usually, these songs in particular manage to capture the personalities of the characters, the moods of bronies, or just conveying the message in which Equestria tries to teach us. Alas, there are many other fan works in the making. Because of the enormous popularity that MLP has attained over the months, many different forms of entertainment with MLP at hand are blossoming - from fanfictions to computer games (we all know of Fighting is Magic, correct?), and it won't be stopping anytime soon. Not only will this generate even more influence among the non-bronies and spark curiosity, but at this rate, the brony community could go down in history as one of the most intriguing and interesting fandoms in entertainment history.
