  1. Here's my thoughts on the massive 16 match card of Wrestlemania 35. 1. Women's Battle Royal (Kickoff Show)- With no true title defense of the Smackdown Women's Championship this year, this will have a lot of women superstars from Raw, Smackdown, and NXT, and perhaps even some legends returning for a one off. Winner - Asuka 2. Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal (Kickoff Show)- This one will, like the Women's battle royal, feature a slew of talent from all three brands. The stupid storyarc with Braun Strowman, Colin Jost and Michael Che will finally end. Winner-Brawn Strowman 3. Buddy Murphy (champ) v. Tony Nese for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship (Kickoff show)- The cruiserweight division's championship is once again relegated to Wrestlemania Kickoff show status. However, I think this will be a sleeper for one of the best matches of the night. Murphy has been doing a fantastic job as the top guy of the division, and the battles that Murphy and Nese have had will make this match that much better. Winner- Buddy Murphy 4. The Revival (champs) v. Hawkins and Ryder for the Raw Tag Team Championship- The first match of the the main card is a match that was confirmed earlier today. THis will be a good match that will be dominated mostly by The Revival, but this would be a good place for Curt Hawkins' massive losing streak to finally come to an end. Winners and new Raw Tag Team Champions-Curt Hawkins and Zack Ryder 5. Fatal 4 Way Tag Team match for the Smackdown Tag Team Championship The Usos (champs) v. Ricochet & Aleister Black v. The Bar v. Rusev & Shinsuke Nakamura- This will be a knock down drag out fight pitting soem very good teams against one another. Honestly, I wish this match were a Ladder match, but this could change again. I think we're gonna see a heel team get a run with the belts. Winner and new Smackdown Tag team Champs-The Bar 6. Kurt Angle v. Baron Corbin (Angle's retirement match)- Let's get one thing straight here... THERE IS NO WAY CORBIN IS FACING ANGLE IN HIS RETIREMENT MATCH. There is more to this story than meets the eye. I think that Corbin will be attack back stage Sunday night and a replacement will be named. John Cena and the Undertaker are logical choices for Angle to wrestle against. But, we all know that WWE doesn't use logic. Winner-Kurt Angle 7. The MIz v. Shane McMahon (Falls Count Anywhere)- The Miz has been on a tear as of late, single handidly taking down Sanity a couple of weeks ago. The numbers caught up to him this week on Smackdown however. Who knows where this match will end, but it's pretty much a forgone conclusion that Sanity will have some sort of impact on it. With that being said, I think the WWE will drag out this feud for as long as they can. Winner-Shane McMahon 8. Women's Tag Team Championship Sasha Banks & Bayley (champs) v. Beth Phoenix & Natalya v. Nia Jax & Tamina v. The IIconics- This will be the biggest challenge of the Boss n Hug connection's reign thus far. However, I think they will come out on top. Winner-Sasha & Bayley 9. United States Championship Samoa Joe (champion) v. Rey Mysterio- This match is still up in the air due to Mysterio injuring his ankle on the go-home Raw this past monday in his match vs Baron Corbin. If it does happen, we'll see what will be a great match between two former world champions. Winner- no idea due to Rey Mysterio's injury 10. Intercontinental Championship Bobby Lashley (champion) v. Finn Balor- The demon returns. This will be a hard hitting match between these two. Balor goes over because he rarely loses when in his demon body paint. If this does happen, I think that Lashley and Lio Rush will finally break up. Winner and new Intercontinental Champion- Finn Balor 11. Triple H v. Batista (No Holds Barred; Triple H's career on the line)- It seems like this could very well be the final match of each of these guy's careers. Batista is the only guy he was not able to beat back in the day, and I think that he will come out on top. Winner-Triple H 12. AJ Styles v Randy Orton- If done right, this could have huge implications to the WWE Championship picture moving forward. These two have not had a singles match as of yet, but with the bad blood starting to boil over here, this one has the makings of an instant classic. Winner-Randy Orton 13. Roman Reigns v Drew McIntyre- Another match that brings huge implications to the WWE Universal championship picture, this match pitting two big hosses of the WWE will be a slobber knocker, if not anything else. With Roman's recent return from his leukemia recovery, he will win this match and establish himself as the number one contender. Winner-Roman Reigns 14. WWE Championship Daniel Bryan (champion) v. Kofi Kingston- This match has all the earmarks of Daniel Bryan's title win back a few years ago. This will be a highly competitive match, pitting one of the better flyers of the era against the most techinally sound wrestler of the era. I think Kofi finally achieves his lifelong dream. Winner and new WWE Champion-Kofi Kingston 15. WWE Universal Championship Brock Lesnar (Champion) v. Seth Rollins- This will be a fight. However, this will also be the crowning moment of Seth Rollins returning to the summit, finally slaying the beast. Winner and new WWE Universal Champion-Seth Rollins 16. Winner take all Ronda Rousey (Raw Women's Champ) v. Charlotte (Smackdown Women's Champion) v. Becky Lynch- IN one of the most stupid moves in the history of the business, this match will unify the raw and smackdown women's championships. This will be a match full of strikes, suplexes, and submissions. This will be an all-out brawl. With the Women finally main eventing Wrestlemania, this match will not disappioint. Winner and new Raw and Smackdown Women's Champion-Becky Lynch The card is subject to change over the next couple days and could change yet again, who knows.
  2. The Pontiac Silverdome opened in 1975. in Pontiac, Michigan. For the next 26 years the venue was home field to the NFL's Detroit Lions. It also hosted the Detroit Pistons for a time as well as several college and minor league teams. But personally the Silverdome became a favorite of mine as it was the site of Wrestlemania III. It's hard to believe that 30 years have passed since March 29, 1987. It's one of the few Wrestlemanias I can still remember the exact date of. While Andre the Giant and Hogan headlined the event, Ricky Steamboat and Randy Savage nearly stole the show with an insane, non-stop 14 minute thriller that saw many tide changes and two counts. But most of all, WMIII was remembered for being big. Everything about it was big. Even Andre, normally billed at 7'4”, gained an extra inch and was 7'5” for one magical night. There was a lot of exaggeration and years later just about everything has been called into question. Some say that the claim of 93,173 fans in attendance wasn't true and that they couldn't have fit more than 78,000 to 80,000. And it's been pointed out that Andre had lost several matches cleanly prior to this. True, but to the best of my knowledge the statement that the Giant never lost in the WWF is also correct. Anyway, after WM III, the Silverdome continued to hold many other events. It saw Super Bowl XVI in 1982. The NFL's championship game would return to Michigan in 2006 but this one was held at the Silverdome's replacement, Ford Field, in downtown Detroit. Almost everything has a life span and that's especially true of sports arenas. After the Lions left in 2001, the Silverdome closed in 2006 and was briefly reopened in 2010. Its doors were shut for good in 2013 and has been awaiting demolition ever since. I'm not sure when exactly the fabric roof came down but it's sad to see the tattered pieces strewn about. Pretty sad. Now it just looks like a dead outdoor football field. If it's any consolation, the next dome to host a WrestleMania, Skydome in Toronto, is alive and well as the Rogers Centre.
  3. We're just one day away, from NXT Takeover: Dallas and for some of us, this event might be even more hype then Wrestlemania, with a supercard of awesome matches, that makes the old vin mans main roster look like a joke. I thought i take the time to predict the matches of the show. Austin Aries vs. Baron Corbin Winner: Austin Aries Aries is being booked as a huge signee, like Samoa Joe, rather than a glorified veteran enhancement talent, like Rhyno. Whether he has a shot at the main roster or not, Aries will definitely be a big name in NXT’s title picture and also be used to put over rising talent. But he’ll have to establish himself to the NXT audience — even though many are smark fans — before losing to Corbin, although there is a very good chance the Lone Wolf pulls off a win and becomes the top heel challenger for the NXT Championship. NXT Tag Team Championship The Revival (Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder) © vs. American Alpha (Jason Jordan and Chad Gable) Winner: American Alpha American Alpha is at its peak popularity yet doesn’t show signs of slowing down. The Revival has had a lengthy title reign and has already established itself as one of the division’s top tag teams. NXT needs to strike while the iron is hot with A.A. and give Jordan and Gable their first championship victory in their biggest match to date. Apollo Crews vs. Elias Samson Winner: Apollo Crews Crews needs a win to re-establish himself as one of the brand’s top babyfaces. Samson has been dominant since becoming a regular on NXT television — aside from his upset by Gargano last week — but is unlikely to capture a victory in Dallas. Sami Zayn vs. Shinsuke Nakamura Winner: Shinsuke Nakamura Zayn is already a full-time member of the main roster and a favorite to win the Intercontinental Championship. He has nothing left to prove in NXT as a former champion who provided several stellar matches throughout his tenure. Nakamura is — along with A.J. Styles — the biggest acquisition in WWE history based on his past success at New Japan Pro Wrestling. The King of Strong Style has already been hyped as a breakout star in what is expected to be a short run in NXT and needs to capture a win in his first match. NXT Women’s Championship Bayley © vs. Asuka Winner: Asuka Asuka is the most believable challenger to end Bayley’s title reign, which will reach 222 days on Friday. Bayley, like Zayn, has nothing left to prove and should make her debut on the main roster competing against the other Horsewomen. TakeOver: Dallas is the perfect event to solidify Asuka as the new face of the division and end Bayley’s NXT career with another stellar performance. NXT Championship Finn Balor © vs. Samoa Joe Winner: Finn Balor Balor showed signs of a heel edge in his match against indie favorite Rich Swann last week. Many have speculated that there could be a double-turn to end the NXT Championship match. The most likely scenario would involve former Bullet Club members “Machine Gun” Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows — expected to make their debuts soon — helping their former leader pick up the victory or attack Joe after a hard-fought match. Either way, Balor will likely continue to be NXT’s top star while Joe, 37, will make the jump to the main roster while he’s still in his prime. However this will turnout, it will be one hell of a show.
  4. Imagine if the WWE revived the Starrcade wrestling PPV which was NWA's and WCW's equivalent to Wrestlemania. If it was revived I would like to see it treated like a second Wrestlemania held later in the year but with the much younger or less used Superstars or Divas getting the spotlight matches. I would love to see a Starrcade revival as that event has so much heritage and it was just as important of a event as Wrestlemania. Would you like to see WWE revive that PPV and if they did what would you like them to do with it? WWE own the rights to the "Starrcade" name so it is possible.
  5. NOTE: Wrestlemane-ia has ended. The team of Princess Celestia and Sunset Shimmer, AKA 'Solar Eclipse', have defeated Twilight Sparkle and Spike 31-28 to become the first-ever MLP Tag Team Champions! A big round of applause for our runner-ups, who twice came back from large deficits to make this one of the tournament's closest and most exciting matches. RESULTS OF ROUND 3 'The Princess & the Dragon', TWILIGHT SPARKLE & SPIKE def. 'Rock Candy', PINKIE PIE & MAUD PIE (31 votes to 25) 'Solar Eclipse', PRINCESS CELESTIA & SUNSET SHIMMER def. 'The Page Turners', RAINBOW DASH & DARING DO (31 votes to 25) (Better summaries than I ever could have written by The Second Opinion and EquestrianScholar. xD ) RESULTS OF ROUND 2 RESULTS OF ROUND 1 See the 16 teams that qualified and how the matchups came about. This goes in classic tournament style, with 8 matchups in Round 1, 4 matchups in Round 2, 2 matchups in Round 3, and the final 2 teams facing off at WrestleMane-ia! So I thought of something a while ago: hey (hay)! We've got a voting tournament set up like the NFL Playoffs (the Most Attractive Pony Tournament). We've got another one named after the NBA March Madness Tournament. We've even got one named after the FIFA World Cup. But one thing we've never had here as far as I know is: An MLP Tag Team Wrestling Tournament! Ponies plus fantasy wrestling? The chance to come up with the funniest tag teams I could think of? Running my own contest?? I had to try it! I did set a few ground rules for myself, before I got too excited: No Mane 6 teamed together because it's an unfair popularity advantage, and no inanimate objects or non-pony "animals" allowed. (Sorry AJ, you can't team up with Bloomberg, Fluttershy won't be stuck with Angel Bunny, and I love you Rarity, but you can't wrestle The Crab.) And a few rules for everypony else: (1) Some of the ponies teaming up may not be friends or even know each other in canon. But that's okay--we're bronies! Imagine these ponies together, promote them, post pictures of them together (SFW) if you wish! xD (2) Play nice. We all know these competitions sometimes get intense, but please keep your comments positive. Advocate for your favorite team/s as much as you like, but don't bash the others.
  6. As a special something for the monumental Wrestlemania 30, I've decided to let WWE 2k14 predict the outcome of the Wrestlemania XXX Pay-Per-View! Please, enjoy!
  7. This will now be the Official MLP Forums WWE Thread for the entire year. Every Raw, SD, and PPV of 2012 and 2013 leading up to Wrestlemania 29 will be discussed here. Wrestlemania 28 - April 1, 2012
