P.S I always start with the ear, is that bad?

as long as it looks like a pony you can start werever you want!

And I agree on the forelegs on the unicorn, and it looks like her head is a smige to far forward, and it leaves a "neck bulge" at the base of the neck.

Starting with the ear is how I start ponies. Works really well
