There are like a few hundred bands trying to bring back "old-school death metal" just because it's the current trend.  Of those bands very few succeed in bringing back the magic, and even fewer have legitimate cred or genuine inspiration from the 90s. Disma is one of those great bands. Craig Pillard of Incantation devastated me with this. Seriously good shit.

The new Elvenking album came out in September, and I just found out about it last week. I've been slacking in music collection, but the new stuff is amazing.

 

It's definitely better than Red Silent Tides, and almost reaches the heights of The Winter Wake.

It's like a throwback to their earlier albums. Red Silent Tides changed their style a bit. This album is more in the style of Heathenreel and The Winter Wake, but it's fresh and new. I'm a big fan when they use contrasting vocals, this is one of the best examples.

Thanks to @, I discovered another deathcore band that I fucking adore. Rings of Saturn. Why haven't I heard of these guys before? Also, their newest album Dingir has been released for free. Definitely worth a listen.

They're described as atmospheric djent, which definitely fits the bill, imo.  I love this song in particular.  Listened to it after a hard day at work; nice to unwind to.
