Twiliscael 3,958 March 13, 2013 Share March 13, 2013 >Implying that its a thing now I've had this marked on my calendar for ages, brah. Surprising to find someone that not only likes Time Bomb, but doesn't bitch at the fact that it's not Demolition Hammer. It was one of the first thrash albums and bands I heard. My uncle had a few of their CD's in his old apartment. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vwdXqrrsF9o Tortured Existence is still my favorite. You're a big grind kind of guy, eh? Djenty's got some good grindcore like these guys. Twiliscael 3,958 March 13, 2013 Share March 13, 2013 I've always liked Gorefest but I didn't know that there was a such thing as death 'n roll. Hard rock influenced death metal. Is it just me, or does anyone else find that pretty funny?

Is it just me, or does anyone else find that pretty funny? Oh yeah, I never really listened to too much death 'n' roll. I always loved that term though, pretty fun to say. Pretty sure this was the first death 'n' roll song I listened to. I love this opening riff, so heavylicious.

Champion RD92 8,644 March 14, 2013 Share March 14, 2013 Does anyone here know anything about Lamb of God? I suppose I could just listen to the album that this song is on. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bqgJc7DaDU4

That's some good stuff Unfortunately I don't really know Lamb of God too well Though the best idea would be to buy the album with that song Since I think that most of the other songs sound like Laid to Rest
Twiliscael 3,958 March 14, 2013 Share March 14, 2013 Lamb of God is pretty good, though I haven't heard enough to really recommend much. Sorry RD. I just listened to Forging a Future Self for the first time in way too long of a time. Such a good album. I love the guitar parts on this one. During the chorus, they even give off a happy-ish vibe. Also, Misery Signals because Misery Signals.

Shit I'm late, but I really like LoG. If you liked Laid to Rest, you'll probably like their 2006 album, Sacrament, or the Ashes of the Wake. It just seems to kinda mesh with that song, you know? So yeah, it would be pretty good to start with those two albums. Laid to Rest just sounds a lot more like a track that fit in better with Sacrament. Wrath is probably my favorite, and you'd probably like that one too. Just a bit faster, heavier, and tuned half a step lower at Drop C#. Then again, that's three albums already. To me, all the albums have their own highlights. That, and their 2012 album Resolution have some pretty neat guitar stuff too, if you're into that. They're far from being a death metal band, but their first release kinda has some death-ish influences. But Randy does some really interesting vocals in that album. You can barely understand him. Unfortunately, he doesn't do that stuff anymore. Still kinda worth checking out, just not a lot like "Laid to Rest". http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y1llKWeNUcQ

I listened to about half of Ashes of the Wake earlier and it seems pretty good. That first song you posted seems really great, I'll probably check out that album too. The general consensus is that you can never go wrong with Accelerated Evolution, Terria, and Ziltoid the Omniscient (but only if you're a big boy). Due to his genre diversity, it's totally up to your taste as to what you want to get. Ambient: The Hummer, Devlab Pop: Addicted and Epicloud Calm Stuff: Ki and Ghost Weird Stuff: Infinity, Ziltoid... Heavy: Accelerated..., Ocean Machine, Terria, Synchestra REALLY heavy: Deconstruction, Ziltoid, Physicist (but no one gives a shit about Physicist) REALLY REALLY heavy: Anything from SYL

Nope, you weren't the only one who was surprised I was pretty surprised that the Metal thread had so much attention too I guess I had thought this because there's more electronic music In our fandom than any sort of metal/hardcore/rock bands But it's cool to see a new guy here, hope you enjoy your time In the best thread on this whole entire site

Making electronic music isn't that hard to figure out for anyone who knows their way around a computer, which is a lot of bronies. You still have to be able to compose, but composing and learning to use FL Studios or Ableton Live is a lot easier than being able to compose, learning guitar/drums, finding a band, and recording stuff. Electronic is popular within our demographic, and is a lot more accessible than almost any othe type of music. I've found some pretty great metal MLP covers though actually. The prevalence of electronic music is probably due to the fact that we're all nerds. Please speak for yourself. Treeboy 418 March 14, 2013 Share March 14, 2013 Blut aus Nord had a pretty good concept going with the "777" series they did. I've listened to the first two albums from the series, "Sect(s)" and "The Desantification," and really enjoyed their blend of black metal with industrial metal (of all things). "Cosmosophy" is next, and I think that'll be great too.
