Knowing him this is him bringing me something back from the states because he just went back home.

I'm prolly going to go for the 7 string.

Yea, get the seven string. There's plenty of people with Epiphones out there. 

 

BTW guys I really want a guitar like this. It's a BC Rich Mockingbird and in black. I wish they made a left handed version though

Yeah I'd go for the seven string, but that's just because I really badly want to try out a 7-string guitar

I've been too busy watching really, really girly animes for much music recently ;~;

 

Though I DID get the chance to listen to Divided By by Struc/tures. I think that the band has potential, but this album was only decent. The opening track is the generic copy-paste breakdown track, and the transitions within the songs are a bit awkward. The growl/hardcore yell vocal switches are a nice effect though. The songs themselves are well structured and interesting. If they can clear up some of the problems, I think that they can make a hell of a group.

Is that going to be your first guitar? If yes, then I wouldn't recommend a 7 string. Why? It's more difficult to play. If you're a beginner, you are most likely going to start your guitar adventure with simple cords, and that 7th string would only get in your way. (eeyup, I've got a 7 string) By the way, that LTD doesn't look very convincing. Low end guitars can be painful to play (it's not a rule though, I've owned a chinese B.C. Rich Warlock Bronze, which after replacing pickups wasn't that bad for the price)

I would try to convince your father to get a used guitar, you can get some good stuff very cheaply in the us. (Oh, thy american Jackson of my dreams, where art thou?)

All I ask is that if you don't like them, please don't bash them.

Also, I won't post videos for these two, since they aren't technically /metal/ but...Pierce the Veil (punk/rock) and Sleeping With Sirens (punk/pop) are cool too.

BFFFFFFFFFFF it's awesome that you mention it! That album certainly is amazing, in fact, it's my desktop background since just yesterday! Just took a screenshot, this is Xubuntu BTW. Installed the OS just yesterday.

BC Richs were always ugly to me. Ibanez master-race. Also, there is the possibility of just stringing the guitar  backwards.

The sad thing about 7-strings is that they aren't very diverse: in look and sound. You can't see someone playing freak folk with a pointy Jackson, and the 7th-string always sounds muddy and overbearing when clean. Tis the pain of djenting.

That's not as easy as it sounds. Keep in mind, you have to get a new nut, there's the possibility you could mess something up, the swithes could get in the way while playing, etc. It just much more convinient getting a left handed guitar.

Do not like. I'm not saying they're bad, but... I've got an Ibanez. A Prestige Ibanez. It's good but it lacks something... I love its cleans, but distortion lacks that punch, that power which I totally adore in my Schecter Blackjack Atx C-7. Also, the neck on that Ibby is too thin for me. I've got quite large palms and super ultra thin Wizard neck is not for me. I like that beefy neck on Schecter. Sorry mister Ibanez, I'm going to get rid of you as soon as possible.

Eeehh Asking Alexandria aren't my kind of thing the kind of Metalcore that I prefer is more on the lines of Converge, but if that's your kind of music then so be it, listen to whatever you wanna listen to. I bet everyone here has those bands that they love that get bashed to hell, I personally love Liturgy and I think that they're an awesome band, but yet not too many people like to agree with that.

Love the desktop!  My roomie just installed that OS as well recently and he's been trying to convert me.  It's gonna get real weird if you also tell me that you love Iron Maiden and Yes and Rush.  And that you bridge the gap between metal and prog rock with bands like Them Crooked Vultures.

Hold your horses,don't chuck the prestige because you're not using it right.  I'm a fan of Schecters too, but don't throw the baby out with the bathwater.  For each instrument, a purpose.  The Prestige is a lead guitar meant for clean licks up high on the neck, hence the thin-ness.  The opposite is true for one of my guitars: Fender Strat American 50th special.  The neck is about as thick as an acoustic guitar because it is meant to be a rhythm guitar with a crunchy sound that you can slam around on.

 

My point?  Hold onto it, with some practice, you might need it.

False. Not the best, and they probably are one of those bands that make people not take metal seriously, but whatever.

Also MCR broke up. Made me a sad Twilie, even if their 2 most recent albums weren't too good.

I'm more of a rhythm player, that might explain my dislike for that Ibby. Neck is too thin to the point it becomes uncomfortable, and that's quite a problem. And I'm too lazy to set up that bloody tremolo properly. I'll never buy another guitar with trem.

 

I'm not telling there guitars are bad, they're just not for me. And I'm gonna sell it anyway

I like me some Iron Maiden, from about their debut to Fear of the Dark. I like Rush's 80's stuff too. Never been big on Yes, or any prog rock for that matter. Aside from Rush, which I just mentioned. A bit of Genesis too.

Its not my first I already have a couple guitars a I have a 7string that I use on occasion but i dont like it cause the strings are really close together.

My mom ordered me an Ibanez Rg8 the other day.

I think my dad is trying to out do my mom.  

Either way a new guitar is a new giutar an i wont complain.

I wouldn't worry about it, MCR haven't been around long enough to break up. They'll get back together soon with a new album/tour and make millions.
