I'm still not a huge fan of Cannibal Corpse, that song was kind of meh, I wasn't that into it. Lyrics though were beautiful whoever wrote those lyrics should be rewarded.

Eeyup, Cannibal Corpse and their wonderful lyrics. And Chris Barnes wrote them, he always wrote the lyrics. So you should reward him.

Bathory does help out a bit, even though my focus is more onto Metalcore now. But after that one Death song, I've been wanting more of Death Metal, care to help me out?

I think it's because Morbid Angel likes to use a touch of synth in their songs. Look up "Immortal Rites" and you'll see what I mean.

Well I haven't listened to any of their songs yet, I just thought that the name Morbid Angel sounded cool. Immortal Rites was fairly good, not the greatest that I've heard, but still I enjoyed it.

Ha, you would like their progressive stuff. You should look up stuff from their album Symbolic (that's the Death CD I bought), it has my personal favorite Death song, "Misanthrope". You should listen to it.

Maybe that's because straight up Death Metal might be too much of a jump for you, stick with some more Proggy Death Metal like Death and Opeth along with some Melodeath, and you'll soon grow onto it. My first jump into Extreme Metal was from the old school Metalcore bands like Converge and Norma Jean (no surprises here). I still do find it hard to listen to Death Metal growls though they become bearable after a while of listening to them, trust me, you'll get used to them somehow.

Death metal is an acquired taste, it takes time for you to get used to. It took me a year for me to finally get into death metal. If you want to get into death metal, I suggest you listen to more thrash metal first.

That's another thing I want to bring up. What's everyone's opinion on 'pony' metal?

That exists? Apparently so. Metal is an already underground genre, I can't imagine it being wildly popular amongst a fandom such as this.
