Insta love this thread.

Not sure if Substructure has been posted yet.. Don't wanna look through all 33 pages.

If not they are my favorite band right now. They are definitely not like most other bands, they know what they are doing and they are definitely going somewhere. I suggest demand you listen to them.

Another pony for the sacrifices the metal thread! Hooray!

BOO really had to win me over after their second album. First one was meh, second one was lame, but they really hit their stride with this one.

Now, I have to gush for a minute, so bear with me.

This band. This fucking band.

I absolutely love this band. It just sounds so desperate, that 3 am dark ceiling depression sadness.

Unrelated, I heard some people talking about how metal takes no skill.

Okay... stay calm, Crispy... people have different opinions...

I'm sorry....no skill? xD

I don't think people understand just how fast the fingers of a guitarist have to move to pull of super solos or how easy it is to miss a beat without the drummer there who keeps the beat but also plays his own tunes as well sometimes.

Not to mention screaming isn't as easy as it sounds, to scream constantly would seriously tear at the vocal cords. Really, metal takes as much (or even more) skill as any other genre.

This band didn't get the recognition they deserved at the time, but Between The Buried and Me got pretty famous, and most of this band is BTBAM now. Guess it works out.

Gris was pretty good. Didn't care that much for Sacriphyx outside of the artwork. SMLE Mk.III, nice touch.

I'm more fond of the energy of bands like Absu and Dissection, as well as older Darkthrone and a great deal of Destroyer 666. Aside from that, I like Altar of Plagues and bands that sound like it, and I enjoy what I've heard of Negură Bunget. Just to give you a general idea of what I enjoy in Black Metal, instead of being recommended the DSBM that doesn't really catch me.

EDIT: Lolololol 666th post.

Congrats on having the coveted 666th post in the metal thread with that one.

I notice a disturbing lack of viking metal in this thread.

I was supposed to see Amon Amarth in Louisville last August, but then I went and got sick. I don't think there are very many concert goers that want to get puked on, so I didn't go.

Anyway, more music.
