Revisiting my roots in the metal scene. My mother introduced me to Judas Priest's Painkiller, and the black album by Metallica when I was about 10. This is still one of my favourites though.

Also this one makes me think of Warhammer 40k

Continuing my metal roots. This is yet another band I was introduced to by my parents. They had the first Iron Maiden album on vinyl, and one year at Easter, they got me Edward the Great, greatest hits CD. I soon found myself submerged in this band as heavily as the others I knew at the time. There was a moment when I first heard metal, that I look back on now and laugh. That moment of "Wow, I really, really love this" Metal head for life.

The more I learned about this band though, the greater respect I had for them in general. They're much more than just a band.

I haven't posted in here in a couple days. I'mma share a doom metal band I just personally discovered. Please, give them some likes. These guys need to be more noticed.

I must say, I love sludge/doom metal. This is right up my alley.

Damn, the cover already is looking freakin' great, but will the music sound the same, I sure think it will.

The Violent Sleep Of Reason out on October 7th, 2016

1. Clockworks
2. Born in Dissonance
3. MonstroCity
4. By the Ton
5. Violent Sleep of Reason
6. Ivory Tower
7. Stifled
8. Nostrum
9. Our Rage Won’t Die
10. Into Decay

Also, new Devin Townsend Project with Failure off the upcoming album Transcendence, out in September

This sounds really epic and atmospheric, love the overall set-up of this song with this heavy main riff who does not take too big of a space in this song.

I also can't wait for his Facebook Q&A that will be live-streamed on next Wednesday.

I'm going to throw into this thread, one of my favorite forces of power! Iced Earth! Whether it's Matt or Tim  (I do prefer Matt, though), this band is a kickass one. Yes, this one is neither Matt or Tim, but still good!

That is one of the best Iced Earth songs IMO.

@@Cosmic V0rtex,
Devin Townsend is bestpony.

Also This band. This is probably the strongest track from their newest album.
"When you change yourself, you change the world."

But if you like Devin Townsend, and you like Gojira, why not have both? It says it's Gojira, but Devin does some of the vocals in this song. You'll know it when he starts in, cause you can't mistake that voice.

The Latest offering from PAIN. Feat Joakim Borden from Sabaton

Fun fact: PAIN front man Peter Tagtgren is also the producer behind the last 3 Sabaton studio albums.

And speaking of Sabaton, here's a new one form them! You heard it first here!

  • 2 weeks later...

Let the thrash wars begin. lol

On another note. Leave it to Gojira to make a song called "Love" sound this heavy.

The lyrics to this song, basically the story of my life.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yI75VJIW34I

Where I come from is a place
of simple creatures, of no consequence.
For as long as I can remember
I've been obsessed with achieving greatness but to what end?
The notion seemed so deep,
brooding disdain all along in me.
That a greater purpose
lay hidden from view.

Searching in vain,
to leave this domain.

Though there have been many
whom I could call friend,
roads steep and laced with pain
have forced every one I've ever known
to fall behind.
They lied down to rest,
while I carried on forward.

But I felt no satisfaction,
even though I am the
great sage equal of heaven.

Searching in vain,
to leave this domain.

I was told that the truth is:
"Only those who risk going too far
can find out how far one can go."
Now I've crossed the earth;
I've reached the end,
and offered my soul.

What can one do to savor life
when everything is rushing so fast.
All alone, slave of time,
I know there is no turning back.

The purple dusk reveals a new road
reaching out to the stars.

To End is to Begin anew.
The colors have changed to a darker hue.
I have now finally awakened to,
emptiness.
