Ulcerate- Stare Into Death and be Still

Probably my favorite metal album this year so far, Ulcerate plays dissonant, technical death metal with surprising melody and post-metal leanings. Very cool stuff, kinda of Gorguts-y but less so than their previous albums.

 

 

Antichrist Siege Machine- Filth of the World

10 minutes of prime war metal.

 

 

Oranssi Pazuzu- Mestarin kynsi

Absolutely wild. Finnish pschedelic black metal, and it's a complete trip. Please try it out.

 

 

CAUSTIC WOUND- Death Posture

Made up of members from Magrudergrind, MORTIFERUM, and Fetid, this 20 something minute assault is something to behold. Downright destructive, old-school death metal riffs, but really fast and hardcore.

Geeked up for the new Misery Signals coming in August, I'm sure that'll get Crispy all hot and bothered. Also hyped for the new Voivod EP, lol.

I posted a status about this. I like the songs and appreciate what they are advocating for but in general are midtier SOAD songs.

Alexi Laiho has passed away at the age of 41. One of my all time favourite guitarists and one of the reasons I started loving metal to begin with.

RIP, a man, an artist and a legacy never to be forgotten.
