web 4chan is messing with the balance of the internet

I suppose that is what happens when you try you feed trolls or rather I guess in this case trolls fed other trolls which makes the situation that much worse. I am just going to kee a safe distance and not have anything to do with this clusterfuck.

I always say (somewhat jokingly) that the internet should best be browsed with an open mind, a closed heart, and full body protective equipment. It's just like any other environment working with volatiles, the less you make the choice of staying near them, the better the chance of not getting yourself badly injured.

Someone, somewhere, is screen capping things like the OP and posting them in some image board.

Hi, internet!

Totally what I was thinking this entire conversation.

Basically, the internet is like a nuclear detonation site.

But with more cat pictures and d*cks.

Lol Bronies doesn't even have anything to do with these raids... it's all about feminist versus /b/tards

All you need to do is not browsing the tags for a couple of days and /b/ will get bored of it faster than you can say "class action lawsuit"

Not quite... Chernobyl/Pripyat is pretty and relatively safe, same with Hiroshima/Nagasaki and Nevada (Only the safe part, that place is ugly as hell)

The internet is more like a badly designed and regulated CDC lab after a large earthquake, one wrong move and you are dead in seconds.

Still, more cat pictures and d*cks.

Time will only tell. Hopefully everyone has learned a lesson.

Don't touch 4chan. Leave them alone and ((hopefully) they'll leave you alone. Going back and forth between these people is pointless, so why drag the fandom into it?

Well, they were for the most part. There were a bunch of tumblr's talking about raiding 4chan on the 4th of July. It backfired, and now tumblr is in damage control while around 10 guys from /b/ post vile images on popular tags. So if they had left the ocean of piss alone, then this whole thing wouldn't have happend.

And no one will remember it next week anyway lol. And so far, this is the first I have seen of the brony fandoms involvement.

No one better jump out of the bushes and try to speak for the entire fandom, thereby getting us unwillingly caught in the crossfire of 4chan's raging revenge-boner.

OP.

OP.

The last thing you would want is to is drag this fandom into a petty internet shitfest that we have no stake in. So far, no one from tumblr has raided /mlp/, no one from /mlp/ has raided tumblr, and this is the only brony forum to be discussing this event. So we seem pretty safe for the most part, avoidence is the best bet.

It's 4chan — you will find no greater concentration of @$$hole-yness anywhere on the interwebz (not even on 2channel). Take heed from our use.net forerunners: don't feed the trolls. And this whole event just reinforces Rule 1: don't talk about /b/.

I also don't frequent tumblr, so there's that too.

Edit: after bothering to look into the ordeal, I am (still) 4chan's side (nuetral , technically — but leaning towards 4chan).

4chan itself isn't the enemy, there are many in 4chan who do good, hackers included. Someone posted a picture of a baby he killed to get revenge at his wife, and within seconds, people were calling the FBI to have him arrested. But just like with every group, there are the bad seeds.

Let's not make this a war against 4chan, yes, they relented and allowed the posting of pony pics. But this is different. This isn't 4chan mobilized as a whole, it's a small portion of their userbase. By making this personal against 4chan, we stand to make a LOT of enemies, who could likely shut down this site for days. I know the power of hackers, they pretty much shut down LoL for days, and I don't want the same thing to happen to this forum. And if there is a war, keep the fandom out of it. Because vengeance and hate have no place in this fandom.

I do not wish to partake this as some tumblerinas thought it was a bright idea to try and poke the bear of the internet while he's minding his own business. Now said bear has caused other tumbler users to suffer all because the few idiots realized of just how quick and violent (fortunetly tame by their standards as they're aren't even trying) 4chan is when they're getting annoyed.

If you want to blame someone, blame those tumblrinas for instigating the whole thing in the firstplace.

I am a 4channer alongside many Bronies here. Now though the 4chan raids may have been bad, note that tumblr didn't just sit back. They retaliated by going ON to 4chan and messing around there. The raids, while annoying, and sometimes insulting, were nothing compared to what 7chan did. 4chan has a reputation for being total assholes, but 7chan deserves that. The 7chan members went onto an Epilepsy Help Forum and made harmless sounding topics, which when clicked, would flash gifs of flashing images. People had SEIZURES due to this! People could have died! So while the 4chan vs. Tumblr were bad, 7chan's raids were WAY worse.

From what I remember reading, this is actually Tumblr's fault to begin with, taking a joke 4chan was performing ON THEMSELVES seriously and somewhat attacking 4chan first.

So if that's the case, good job tumblr. You're more special than most.

The internet has balance? When did this happen?

Yeah, these fights happen all the time. I am a HUGE fan of tumblr (Mostly because i'm a huge geek and fangirl) and I do go on 4chan every now and then, so i'm neutral over this. Also, nobody is going to remember this, like, ever.

So you may as well sit back and enjoy the show. Don't make a mountain out of a molehill, and don't drag the fandom into problems that are of no concern to us.
