web 4chan is messing with the balance of the internet

Is /mlp/ the mecca of the fandom then? If so I've made my trip once when Faust came there and I was pleasantly surprise by how civilized the board was during her visit despite my previous belief of how bad it was. Further visits have me convinced that frankly the only real differences between 4chan and the rest of the internet is of how very open they are of their viewpoints and of how they would often welcome such opinions where anywhere else would be looked down upon, attacked, or even outright banned for simply posting an unpopular opinion. If not for how many negative rumors prop up on there, I wouldn't mind visiting there more frequently as it's certainly better than EQD's comment section.

If I where to take a screenshot at random of any of the threads on /mlp/ there is a 90% chance I couldn't post it here.

Take a look for yourself, you'll see a lot of fetish threads of greentext pony fan fics, people insulting each other, and occassionally people creating drama threads for news and so people can argue.

True, but lolz only ensue when you give them reason to believe there will be lulz. They're people (4Chan is people too! #freetheChans) too and the easier the target is the better. So don't be an easy target.

/mlp/ has a daily 'cringe' thread. If they deem someone 'autistic' you can be sure they will be a target + drama and you will become a higher priority target and on and on it goes.

That's not new on the internet, heck the arguments I'll typically find anywhere else that has comment sections. It maybe a naive viewpoint, but at least I feel 4chan would welcome an unpopular opinion and give it a try before it blows up into oblivion.

Serious question: have you ever been to /mlp/? I go there a couple times a week to look for news, drama, and drama news.

90% of the board is nothing but wierd  fetish threads and people calling each of other 'autistic f*ggots'.

I've been there during Lauren Faust's visit and a few other times after that. In otherwords I seldom go there. Thus seeing your more educated opinion would suggest that I am foolish with my view but I may have been wearing rose tinted glasses for 4chan (ironic enough). I'll admit that yes there are many fetish threads and your embroiled arguments on it too often hurled with unfiltered insults.

On a single thread with what is practically the Christ figure of the board of course there going to be on best behaviour.

I have no idea what you're attempting to get at here. I'm quoting what people on the board typically say because It appeared you hadn't spent much time there based on your opinion. Which it turned out was a correct assumption.

I don't know, it was simply me trying to be some fanboy for 4chan despite my inexperience with it as I feel the site receives more hate than it deserves. However, you're correct that for whatever half assed attempt at trying to portray 4chan in a better light, it's still an ocean of piss as they love to call themselves.

4chan is like a force of nature. You might as well try to stop a hurricane, for all the good its going to do. I don't think 4chan is inherently bad. Its just a place of absolute freedom, where everything goes.. As a result, its pretty easy to get an angry mob going to go raid a website.

I don't know exactly what happened, but I wouldn't be surprised if Dumblr did something to set them off. I don't condone this kind of thing, but I'm not going to shed any tears over them either.

to discuss a plan. even if I have to go into this alone I will do everything I can to fight against these dark and twisted people. :okiedokielokie:

I don't care what you do, but for the love of all that it holy, don't say its an organized thing from this forum. I don't want to draw 4chan's ire here.

You can rely on 4chan to be the toilet of the internet. Which is part of it's appeal. You can say anything you want, which includes complete honesty without fear of a ban or damaging your reputation because no one there has a reputation.

I go there maybe twice a week for news and fandom drama, because It can be pretty funny. If you want to have legit discussion about mlp you're better off here, or maybe reddit.

1. Cool

2. Suing someone is very expensive and you can receive a counter-suit.

Touche! But my second thought was...well,a thought!

(It is illegal to create demeaning photos of another person...celebrities could sue the internet)

I go on /b/ and /mlp/ everyday. I see threads of Tumblr trying to raid 4chan. So 4chan attacked them back, even thought I'm sure a user from /pol/ started shutdown4chan on Tumblr. It was SJW's that was pissing /b/ and /pol/ off.

/b/ is tumblr these days. 4chan tries to raid tumblr in return, but on /mlp/ at least no one 'joins the cause'.

OP is well you can guess, on the threads that attempt to build a raiding party at least on the /mlp/ board.
