I think that some (ok, a lot) of misconceptions about Rainbow Dash come from: 1) she is a tomboy and, 2) most people don't really understand tomboys. Which is really too bad. Tomboys are pretty awesome. I have a couple tomboy friends, and they are great. There was one article that did a good job at explaining tomboys, but sadly I can no longer find it
