Subforum for Media Discussion (IT H&S)

Recommended Posts

Now, I have the tendency to browse around the Media Discussion Section almost everyday, due to some threads that involve technology.  However, in doing so, I've noticed the number of "tech support questions" that had me thinking.  As much as its great to have technology categorized in the Media Discussion, I think there should be a sub-form for Technology itself.  Basically:

Beyond Equestria

--------Everfree

----------------- General

----------------- Media

----------------------- Tech Info & Support

Personally, it will be easier, b/c if you think about it, many members may ask "My Computer is broken, b/c of this or that, etc.".

Adding a forum section implies that its theme is of substantial relevance to the MLP Forums community. How well does IT help fit with this community?

While I'm sure we have plenty of technical people here who are capable of diagnosing and resolving computer problems, I can't help but feel that more enthusiast-oriented communities would be much more appropriate venues for such things.

In addition, this has been brought up before and didn't get enough support to pass through, from my memory.

Thunder-Wing, one suggestion is that you could make a general self-help resource topic and include several of the more helpful sites like TSG, Tech Support Forum, ARS Technica, Stack Overflow, etc.

If you want a hand with compiling a list I can help.

True.  Yet, if you think about it, I think some (not all) would somewhere along the line ask an IT related question which I think it would be better to have in a separate section.  Then again, there are other appropriate communities for that specific area.  Just a thought, :)

Really?  That's quite surprising, this was mentioned before.  Thought it would be a good idea to have, :)

That sounds like an idea, :).  Let me have some time, on that, yet, I'll definitely consider that idea, :D.  And sure, I could use a hand, :)
