Which is more smarter? A horse, or a pony?

I don't know if there is a big difference but I've been told several times that ponies are really smart.
It also depends from the horse breed. Some breeds are known for being more intelligent than others.

I wouldn't say that either is smarter than the other.

Horses, as a whole species, are quite intelligent.

That's like asking if a tall person is smarter than a short person. It all depends on their personality; every horse/pony has their own unique personality about them along with their own strengths and weaknesses. You also mentioned that "ponies can be a little mischievous" - that doesn't effect their level of intelligence or trainability at all. Plus, that's a stereotype, there are many ponies that are calm and very nice. So all in all, there isn't much of a difference between horses and ponies when it comes to intelligence, it's all in their personality.
