Five Nights at Freddy's

Recently, there's a new horror game out for Steam, and its not Amnesia, or the Slenderman sequel. Oh no; its Five Nights at Freddy's, the new Creepypasta (as ironic as it sounds, its not even Creepypasta). I'd give you guys an explanation, though various YouTube vids, and the game, explains it all. Watch/Play it at your own risk. Its as scary as any Slenderman game would.

What is five nights at Freddy's? I guess, more specifically, what is it about?

Basic plot summary is that you get a new job at a place called Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, as a security guard. You have to work from 12 A.M. to 6 A.M. This would be no problem, but the animatronic characters turn evil during the night, and try to murder you. The game objective is to survive until morning comes. You can avoid the evil furry robots by closing the doors you have. But closing the metal doors consumes power, and you have a limited amount of power. If you run out of power, you only have 30 seconds left until you get caught. On top of shutting the doors, using the lights right outside your doorways, and checking the security cameras also consumes power. And like I said before, if you run out of power, you're screwed unless you have less than 30 seconds left until 6 A.M. An in-game night lasts approximately 10 minutes. This game is probably the scariest horror game I've ever played. It makes you really paranoid in every way. If you like horror games, you'll love 5 Nights at Freddy's.

I will say it. Scariest game ever. EVER. EVER. I never thought someone would make a game any scarier than Amnesia. I was wrong.

And dayum. It's getting popular real quick.

Now let's get Pewdiepie to play it  (I'm starting to think he's avoiding that game)

The atmosphere is gives is very amazing. Plus the game leaves you feeling EXTREMELY vulnerable with the door and power system it has. I only watched gameplay of it but it freaked me out, and watching horror games doesn't make me scared usually, but this one does,  In an nutshell the game is a great one

I really like the idea. I also feel it has that choice-ish system. You can play with all the doors closed and hope or you can conserve power, just sit and cry, etc

I like it. Its ok.

Honestly, I don't get it. The concept is interesting, but I don't really find it to be scary. It lives in the uncanny valley space where sure it's creepy, because the characters were designed to be that way, but as for genuinely frightening....nope.  And while it is an interesting concept, it doesn't have a whole lot of longevity to it, unless it's drastically changed.

Overall, looks like fun, but not really my thing.

Right? Why would you work there in the first place? Ungh.

Well, I'm extremely broke, so I guess I could understand working the first night out of desperation

If you want something kinda short that's extremely scary, play P.T. Its the teaser for, I think, a new silent hill game going out. Graphics are really good, scare factor is through the roof. Unfortunately it's only on PS4 right now, so I can't play it on my XBOne

I torrented it because I am poor. And I honestly felt like it is a bit overhyped. The gameplay was solid and workable, but nothing that indie horror hasn't done before. The creatures themselves are not very scary at all and the whole "you look away and they kill you" has been done quite a bit in recent indie horror. And like another member already said, it has very little replay value. The same set of scenarios seem to repeat, so there isn't much room for replayability.

so I'd call it a pretty decent jump scare game, but the scarriest game ever? Not even close, I'd give it a solid 7/10.

In all honesty, Papers, Please looks like it would deliver a far more thrilling playthrough. This looks about as scary as day-old fried rice. Yet another "horror game" that leaves me unfazed.

EDIT: I was right.

A lot of horror games don't scare me, but this game... it terrifies me.

I never played it, but watching Mark play it, it gives me the creeps. The jumpscares don't scare me, it's the extremely creepy atmosphere and the feeling of constant dread.

I don't like it.

Oh my god. Okay, this game is so freaky. I just saw RT play it and it was scary as heck. I've always hated places like Chuckie Cheese because of the animatronics. I'd quit that job in a heartbeat. And all of you saying it's out of desperation- screw that shit ok. I'm dead broke and I would never ever take that job. They're trying to kill you. Is it really worth a paycheck????

CHECK ON THE DUCK MICOO

I think that this is a really interesting game because it offers something that not alot of other horror games ive seen do: offer different playstyles. You can do the regular, lock yourself in for as long as possible, wait until they come and lock the doors, etc

That being said its not really over-the-top scary. But its creepy.
