Why do some Bronies hate the intro?

- Not catchy

- Not a fan of the singing

- Disappointing compared to the Japanese intro

it probably has to do with the intro being, by far, the girliest part of MLP.

 

the intro makes me, as a guy, feel like "you shouldnt watch this!", while the rest of the show doesnt

Personally I do find it to be the most girlish and childish thing about the show and makes it feel less like this fabulous and amazing world and more like a kid's show.

I like the intro to be honest. It grew on me. I prefer the Italian intro and the full intro though.

Those alternate "opening themes" are mediocre and embarrassing hack jobs, a brutal assault on My Little Pony. The songs are plain inferior bubbly garbage with singers that makes me think that my ears will bleed..and totally inappropriate...and the makers were too pathetic to bother making an actual animation, making the "opening themes" no better than some second rate fan creation with no inspiration or drive to do anything interesting or creative. Is that the best they could do? If I were Hasbro, I would remove them and replace it with this show's wonderful theme song that most unconventional fans seem to take for granted. It perfectly encapsulates what the show stands for and has a superior song and style. By the way, if you hate it so much because it is girly then you are welcome to stop watching the show in its entirety.

Then my son looks at me slowly and says " :okiedokielokie:  no."

 

Oh, and the Equestria Girls opening is my favorite

I think Tay Zonday went through puberty three times... I mean, MY GOODNESS... I, personally, am admittedly jealous of his voice.  I freaking loved that video...

I LOVE the MLP intro.  I watched the other countries versions, and I gotta say, I think they are pretty bad.  

 

For me, watching the [AMERICAN] intro is an essential part to watching the episode.  It just brings back a certain nostalgia from when I first started watching it.

I don't use the idea of demographic to try and insult people for watching the show. I use it to demonstrate that the opening theme is equally part of the aesthetics of the show. Not liking it is akin to disliking the common instruments used in Jazz music but still professing to like the genre. Not liking the true opening theme makes no sense.

I don't hate it. I don't mind it much. I think it's that most people are embarrassed about it. Like if someone else was nearby, I think some bronies would probably turn down the T.V. volume when the theme is on XD

1.It's probably the only thing antibronies see of the show, and why they drop so much hate on us.

I just don't like theme songs that much.  There are only a few that I don't skip, and it doesn't mean that the other ones are particularly bad, just that I've heard this song already like fifty times and I don't care to hear it again.

Okay, aside form the quote I made from the original Mentally Advanced Series opening, I see nothing wrong with it. Yes the begining of the opening does draw back to the MLPs before it but that's the point. As for the bulk of the song for Gen 4, it's a very awesome opening. I guess it can be embarrassing to listen to when you blast it out loud for everyone to hear. As for why some bronies dislike it. It maybe just personal preference or taste in music. Allot factors into it when it comes to the mind of a person, so it's never absolute.

I guess the reason I hate it is probably because it tormented me as a kid, remember folks if you grew up in the eighties nineties or two thousands my little pony was for girls and no one else. If you grew up a male in any of these decades MLP(along with other girls toys)was the bane of your existence, and once you heard that annoyingly memorable theme song you just wanted go to the nearest store and burn every last pony doll in sight. Well on a less violent note there is still an 8 year old in me who wants to ruin the show for me(although I try to make him shut his f**king face)and that's probably the main reason I can't enjoy it. But even if I did fully shut him up I still don't think I could really enjoy it.
