Could Princess Celestia be evil?

Someone's been reading too many trollestia/molestia fanfics methinks.

 

Though there's always room for a dark backstory

Evil? Not exactly evil but she isn't a good princess either. I'd put her on Anti-hero status. She loves to be playful, sometimes to the level of trolling. She tends to be well laxed most of the time, which shows some level of uncaring. Though that too could be a facade and she is hiding allot of stress. She couldn't be wholly evil but there is no way she is good or innocent. I mean think about it, why do the guards keep a close eye on her? Even better question is why she has them around since they do not see much action with the exception of the attack on Canterlot by the changelings.

And to the Nightmare, to her sister... perhaps the worst punishment was given. To the one who wanted her and her night to be adored above all else, she was trapped on her creation indefinitely. Her face was etched onto her moon, a sight to bring fear and pain even to those who did once look at the moon with love. There were those who still remembered, but eventually, even the youngest of foals forgot the moon goddess and her creation. The moon lay unloved for a thousand years. This is the fury of a goddess. She never kills, and she never has to. Those who face the wrath of Sol Invictus, over the years, have instead learned of something far worse. It's a punishment to which death is a joy, something they pray to her for every second of their remaining existence. To those who threaten the ones she loves, Princess Celestia gives the gift of immortality.

Celestia is lawful good. There isn't an ounce of evil in her. She is supposed to serve as the supreme example of what all ponies should be: loving, caring, nice, etc.

She's damn near perfect.

Plus to top it all off, she already has absolute control over Equestria, so there's literally no reason for her to be "concealing her evilness".

The Tyrantlestia headcanon, for me is actually more fanon, because it comes from out of nowhere. The only reason that i can think, that this headcanon exists, is because, while Celestia isn't a Tyrant, she is certainly an autocrat.

 

I think most first world countries, where the people have a voice in it, have a certain problem with autocratic figures, because all who don't grand them a voice, are evil and tyrannical automatically.

 

Most people then also ask "why has nobody stood up to her in the last 1000 years?" The answer is, because she is nice. A content population, dosen't rebel against a nice dictator.

 

So no, Celestia is in no way Evil.

I would say no. At least not intentionally. Everything she does is done with the best intentions. But then, the road to hell is paved with good intentions...
