"I could walk with you to the school since I'm heading to Canterlot real quick", he offered wanting to spend more time with her. "The princesses have some new job for me as always and their the type of ponies I want to keep waiting but the school is on my way".

"Oh, its okay, I can make it to the school, I know the route. Just head from my home, or to be exact, leave my home, go forward a few steps, go right, then take another right and keep walking for a while. Then take another right, and after a while, take a left and after a while I will reach the school." She said before saying "Thank you for offering though" and smiling.

He opened his mouth to respond but had nothing to say in response. "Uh..okay. See you later then, I suppose", he finally managed after about seven minutes of silence. He quietly headed out the front door and held it for her trying to maintain some sense of pride after that failure.

Shadow smiled once she noticed he was holding the door open for her, "But you can come if you want to..." She said as she walked outside. The smell of morning dew was in the air. She felt the wet ground and looked up, hearing the bird singing causing her to smile

"I did assume that you probably knew how to get to the school", he said quietly. "I just like talking with you and felt bad for basically blowing you off last night", he said listening to the morning bird songs. He flapped his wings nervously and paced waiting to walk with her.

"Come on then." She said before beginning to walk. She looked at him "And about last night, I'm okay with it, you were probably pretty tired. So its okay." She said before smiling at him. She was happy he wanted to talk to her. "Oh wait I need to get something, before we go." Shadow ran into her house and came out with a cloak, it covered her eyes. "The foals are sometimes scared by my eyes... so I wear this, it may scare them a little bit but not as much as it would if I didn't."

"Those pretty eyes and cloak mifght scare them but I am quite certain that I'm at least a Tad bit scarier", he said following her. "But, yeah...I was admittedly pretty tired last night Princess Luna and Celestial have had me working like a mule, its rediculous".

She stopped walking "y-you think my eyes are pretty?" She said before looking at him. She was blushing but the cloak covered it. "and I guess that what you should expect when its the princesses." She then looked forward and began walking again, counting her steps.

"Oh...I didn't realize that I said that put loud", he mumbled to himself quietly. "Yes, I do. They are unique and pretty at least in my opinion", he said slightly embarrassed that he had just announced that. He never went around telling ponies they were pretty. 'This mare is messing with my head", he thought to himself as they resumed walking.

"W-well, thank you... " She said blushing even more, it could be seen peeking out from behind the cloak. She looked away from him so he wouldn't see that she was blushing. She counted enough steps and began to turn right and looked forward again. She pushed some of her mane out of her face and continued walking.

"No problem. You act like nopony tells you that which would be ridiculous for you not to be with the perfect stallion by now", he shrugged watching her turning away. "Great..I pissed you off, I guess. Sorry", he apologized following hercwith evidently less enthusiasm.

She turned and smiled at him "thank you... and no you didn't piss me off... I'm flattered, to tell you the truth." She said, her face was turning a shade of red. She said before walking up to him and smiling. "and I have never really been good at dating..." She said before looking down.

"Not good when it comes to dating... join the club. I don't know what it is but something always seems to put ponies at a distance from me....must bevthe accent", he said dryly. He finally at her and saw her blushing. "Seriously, I thought you already had Pierre LePerfect by now".

"No... Stallions are usually turned away by my eyes." Shadow said. She looked up and began to think. She wanted to say something but she wasn't to sure about it. 'should I say it? no... not yet... maybe I will say it later.' She thought before looking in the direction of the school.

"Well..I don't understand why stallions can't see how great you are. Ypu are kind and pretty but nopony sees that. It just really sucks that the only one not scared off by your beautiful eyes is a changeling so I guess your kind of out of luck", he said quietly.

She heard what he said, well part of it "I have friends that are scared off by my eyes, and they are both stallions. One lives in cloudsdale, and one lives in Canterlot but we keep in touch, occasionally, One will come and visit me, Times will come and help me with something or we will just hang out... Winter on the otherhoof is more timid and really just comes to see how I am doing"

He looked at her blankly. "Well...at least a couple of stallions are willing to spend time with you despite your supposedely creepy eyes. Its nice that you do have some friends who don't just run away from you because of what you look like", Hivemind said trying not to sound bitter.

"Yeah, Times use to stand up for me when we were in high school, and Winter would comfort me when I was sad. They aren't my only friends but they are definitely my best friends." She said before smiling. "What friends do you have?" She asked as she looked at him.

"Me, myself and I and it sucks. Sure, I used to have friends up until my old marefriend ratted me out as a changeling to everypony. All of my friends abandoned me in one day. All because I thought I could trust her bur Golden Rose is a mare who can't be trusted".

"Good to know, I will add her name to the list along with my Sister and Father." She said before going silent. "also you have at least one friend... me" She said, thinking about how Hivemind would react to her saying that. She smiled at him and said "and I promise I will keep your secret, A secret"

"Yeah...bit I know why you are willing my secret. Nopony would believe a blind mare that she knows a local pony is a changeling....no offense", he said hitting himself for bringing her blindness into this. "I'm sorry for making light of your blindness and I'm surprised you actually want to be my friend with the way I have treated you".

"No, I'm willing to keep your secret, because i don't want you to be chased out of town. Also the ponies here would believe me, A. I have never lied before, B. I'm blind, I'm not a nut job, and Its okay... your not the first...." She began to go silent and turned as she came up to her next right.

"I would rather not talk about 'them' right now..." She said before looking at him "I already said its okay, and... can we please change the subject?" She said before giving a fake smile. She had gotten really good at faking a smile over the years. Having to hide her sorrow many times.

Especially since she had already helped him out multiple times and he was a chsmgelings who always replayed his debts. "So...what do you do to kill time" , he asked though he was awful at making conversation.
