Music Genres you dislike.

Vox

Recommended Posts

Gospel (self-explanatory), Hardcore Rap (gives me a headache), Country (Uh, hello: trucks, beer, women and dogs that's all they sing about), Most pop (I don't need to hear celebrities complain about how hard their lives are), Techno (not really into the computerized thing). Basically, if it doesn't have a distorted guitar or doesn't have a pedigreed musician playing it, it's a no go.

Pretty much anything modern that want made after the 90s. Rap, country, pop, techno, dubstep, alterjative, that whiny stuff scene kids have the gall to call "rock" (FEELINGS. FEELINGS.)...

I'm an equal opportunity hater.

I dislike rap. It goes too fast for me and thus usually doesn't have a good beat IMO. And of course, there are the topics that most rappers use...

I can't even call rap music, lol

Who you jiving with that cosmik debris?

Every genre can be salvaged to be enjoyable to some extent. My least listened to (main) genres would be country and death metal.

I like rap because lyrically, no other genre can even come close. It also sometimes has a more comedic tone which is an enjoyable change from the norm.

Well rock music I generally thought was about expressing feelings in sound. A lot of songs back in the 90s weren't exactly following a "better" topic (such as Kurt Cobain singing about mosquitoes...lol).

I am someone that really likes all kinds of music and have more or less listened to everything and liked just about everything at some point or another, the thing is about music for me is that it's not that I dislike a certain genera, I just usually dislike a certain song or artist, though I would say that my favorite genera would be country, an no not that modern crap, for people that said they dislike country they are usually referring to that modern stuff you hear on the radio which isn't even country, all it is is pop with a southern accent, real country actually can and usually does have very deep meaning other than this modern stereo type.

Anyway, if I really had to choose a genre that I truly don't usually care for (99 percent of songs at least) it would probably be opera, and to be honest 99 percent of stuff they play on the radio now days flat out sucks, even this so called "new rock" that they are always talking about on the the modern rock station where I live.

Bad example, as I dislike Nirvana x)

Only reason I included 90s is because there are some stuff there I like, unlike the 2000s and up, where even if I may like a song hee and there, is just too few to mention

Rap: Very few songs I like. I generally find rap "angry" and usually not exactly positive. A lot of times it's hard to understand what the hell they're even saying. However even though I don't like it, It still takes some talent to rap.

Dubstep: I just don't like a lot of the weird sound effects. Reminds me of a breaking garbage disposal (insinkerator, food waste disposer). Most of it is too harsh sounding for my tastes.

Newer country music: I just don't care for a lot of it anymore. Part of the reason is when I'm at work early my annoying boss puts the country radio station on, so now whenever I hear country music I think of him. I used to only listen to country as a kid in the mid 90's though.

Newer pop music: Bruno Mars, Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, etc MAKE IT STOP :(  lol.

edit* and whoever sings that "it started with a whisper" or whatever song I HATE IT

Country is perhaps my least favorite genre of all. I try to be open-minded, but country just doesn't work for me. It's either really irritating, or it's slow and depressing. I can listen to all moods of music and be okay, but when being forced to listen to country at work that is depressing it really makes me work much more sluggishly. I hate it.

In general I find 80s rock to be irritating as well. That's not to say all of it, as there are a select few songs from the 80s that I really like, but they're very far and few in between. But when I'm forced to listen to it at work it's very hard to think about the few that I do like because the rest is just so... I'll leave it at that. xD

I've never really cared for Christian rock either. Something about it is just so 'blah', and it's not necessarily the Christian part of it since I listen to some Christian music. It's mainly the sound... Christian rock is so dull from my experience.

And I hate to say it, but I don't like a lot of today's mainstream pop either. Mainly because it's too electronic. It's all so hollow and generic.

I can't even call rap music, lol

Aw... It is music, though. I don't listen to rap, but I can't stand when people say this.

Rap is heavy on punchlines, rhyme scheme, curse words, and tempo. It's just a different kind of style. I don't think it's fair to say it "isn't music" because it certainly is.

Old rap is pretty good. Much better than nowadays stuff, that's for sure.

Some good stuff coming out nowadays too. I'd recommend Chance The Rapper, Logic, Ace Hood, Kanye West, Kendrick Lamar, and Eminem to name a few who put out some good stuff in the past year or so.

Dubstep, modern rap, and modern pop music, to put it all under an umbrella. Country is one I dislike most of the time, but there's also a lot of good country, as there is with older rap and older pop music from the '80s and '90s. Other than that, I'm pretty open minded, but I find myself leaning towards anything with a guitar in it most of the time.

Iiiiiiiiiiiii think I'll stick to what I know, thanks x)

I like rap that talks about "the struggle".

Most radio nowadays is blind to that, obsessed with materialism.

Not saying old radio didn't have that, because it did, but...less so.

I listen to just about everything with the exception of Pop, Pop-fusions and Middle-eastern eurodance (don't ask). Btw, these also got exceptions within em, if i find a song i really like etc.

I like all genre of music. Rap? Heck yeah. Pop? Love it. Country? Enjoyable. I don't dislike any genre of music, even gospel and death metal. You can play anything and I'll tend to like it.

Only a fan of modern pop songs if the artist has any real vocal talent.

Not a huge fan of Honky-Tonk, J-Ska, and whatever you call Reggae mixed with Hip-Hop in Spanish.

I dislike most electronic music (exceptions exist), aaaand yeah lol. And rap and heavy metal (progressive metal is iffy). Metal is a bit too heavy for me, whereas I normally listen to "easy-listening".
