So I currently run a Tumblr that is completely made for songs and lyrics! It's called musicandlyricsrlife.tumblr.com if any of you want to see it.

Well anyways, I could use some of your help! I am kind of paranoid about running out of ideas and thought that maybe you guys would know a few!

Thanks so much! ~

Okay.

Meaning of this song: The praising of anything egotistical to the point of deification eventually leads to such praise as being an epic jerk-off session. This can apply to any point of view.

Fitting how the name would be The Mighty Masturbator.

And THIS is about racism. Also fitting because the bass player is a black man.

Maybe this song just affects me so much because it's about my homeland, but still a powerful shanty

We just lost sight of the Queensport light down the bay before us

And the wind has blown some cold today with just a wee touch of snow

Along the shore from Lazy Head hard abeam Half Island

Tonight we'll let the anchor go down in Fogarty's Cove

My Sally's like the ravens wing her hair is like her mothers'

With hands that make quick work of a chore and eyes like the top of a stove

Come suppertime she'll walk the beach wrapped in my old duffle

With her eyes upon the masthead reach down in Fogarty's Cove

She will walk the sandy shore so plain Watch the comber's roll in

'Till I come to Wild Rose Chance again down in Fogarty's Cove

She will walk the sandy shore again watch the comber's roll in

'Till I come to Wild Rose Chance again down in Fogarty's Cove

She cries when I'm away to sea nags me when I'm with her

She'd rather I'd a Government jod or maybe go on the dole.

But I love the waves as I pull about, nose into the channel

My Sally keeps the supper and a bed for me down in Fogarty's Cove

Here is a song from a band who's songs tend to be lyrical representation of philosophical theory. This particular song is dealing with the theories of Noumenon and Phenomenon. These opposing theories represent things that are viewed through our senses (phenomenon) and things that we cannot see with our sense (noumenon)

Some theorize that the world of noumenon does not truly exist for if we cannot see, hear, taste, feel or smell it that thing is not possible while others yet, such as Immanuel Kant, say that the world of noumenon likely does indeed exist but humans will never be able to find it because we have not the ability to understand something we cannot uses our senses to identify.

One could say that if there were truly a realm of the gods that it would essentially exist within this world of noumenon.

This song basically brings up these two opposing theories in a unique way saying that when you observe something, it is phenomenal, but when you aren't observing that thing it returns to a noumenal state or it was noumenal before it was discovered but once it is it becomes phenomenal.

Here's the song:

And here's the lyrics in case you can't understand all of it:

This song describes what I'm feeling right now, in addition to being amazing.

August Burns Red: Marianas Trench

This ship is sinking,

Deeper and deeper.

We've abandoned this vessel

And left the captain for dead.

Waves thirst for our passing. (2x)

Prepare for the struggle.

Prepare to engage.

Our armor tight to the skin,

This shield it bears His name.

We are strapped to the teeth,

But our swords are lodged

Tightly in our throats.

We are going under.

We cannot swim under these conditions.

We're drowning quicker and quicker.

We cannot swim, we cannot swim,

We can't swim under these conditions.

We are drowning quicker and quicker.

We cannot swim, we cannot swim

Under these conditions...

We have become what we have feared

(We have become what we have feared)

Being one with this world.

We've become one with this world.

Yeah!

Pray for Heaven's titans to rain down,

And spare us the pain.

We're going under. We're going under. (2x)

Under, under, under, under...

Some music about growing up. Some of my favorite music ever made. A totally underrated post-hardcore band by the name of Modern Life Is War.

It's the first and last song of their album, Witness.

Lyrics in spoiler.

Part One: The Outsiders

So what the fuck are you going to do, kid?

Still ratting at the chains of the gates of the world...

But you can't quite pretend.

Still tasting youth's bitter exile here in your empty generation's wasteland...

Where all the things that you've been clingingto are being ripped from your hands.

Restless soul this place will never be your home.

And if you wanna have it all...

You've gotta let it all go.

Before the adult world strings you up and skins your skinny bones clean to the bone.

'Cause all this time you've been searchin' for something real

And now the pressure is coming down on you.

You've gotta turn this despairinside out and turn it into your way out.

'Cause heaven knows you're sinking and I know we're much the same...

So cheers to our rebel hearts...

Not just another fuck you...

But a bedside love song for a chosen few.

We feel like we've been left in the wind to die in the dust...

With no one speaking to us...

So we are speaking up.

Throwing out our anchor against the fear.

Your revelation time is near.

So try and listen to the voice urging you on...

Saying...

This is it kid...

This is your last chance...

And this is the only way to glory...

And this is our last dance.

Part Two: Hair-Raising Accounts of Restless Ghosts

I promised myself I wouldn't lead you on.

So here it is confused and flawed.

As foolish as these words may seem.

As foolish as I may be.

See, I'm just a factory worker's son from a railroad town.

And yeah, I can feel the steel mills rust.

But I've been doing my time and I've been thinking about getting out.

I'm running fast the other way down a narrow dead end road.

I know this won't be the last time I sing

"These dreams will be my anchor.

These dreams will be the death of me."

Through all this I've been feeling like

I'm slowly burning out...

Nothing is all bad...

Nothing is quite right.

So I kept inking and screaming from my room...

The only way I know how to...

I'm calling out to you.

I'm calling out to you.

Nerves wrapped tight around my spine.

I'm past the point of caring what the rest of them think.

They've got the fear.

They're holding back.

And this is for the go-for-broke common-muck few.

And this marks the end of an era and the start of something better.

What can we do when the war is all around?

The veins are constricting the pressure is coming down.

What can we do when the war is all around?

The veins are constricting.

The pressure is coming down.

Everyone knows we're living in a world we just can't trust.

Left in the wind to die in the dust...

So we spoke up.

Crazy, Ugly, Illegitimate...

Never again.

We are the symptom.

We are the torn in the side.

They scream 'til it hurts.

They can't sleep.

I want to be one of them.

We try.

We bleed.

Endless.

Broken.

White.

Lines.

And we don't care anymore.

I don't give a fuck.

'Cause I'm one of them.

Our rebel hearts will turn restless ghosts.

They can never truly kill us and we will never truly die.

In My Darkest Hour-Megadeth:A woman who leaves you and hurts you.

Even though the music was for a friend. :P

Another good song would be Escape by Metallica. About not giving a shit about what others think of you.
