"Have you tried talking to her? Or possibly any of her acquaintances? We can head over there now if you like and see if she is there. Maybe Discord might be there if we're lucky."

The thought made Sen shudder for the moment. He knew the extent of Discord's powers were capable of but to see him with his own eyes... that was a different thing altogether. Though he had been through some of the most harrowing experiences in his life. Maybe this meeting with Discord wouldn't faze him as much.

"There is always the alternative option of asking everyone else in town who lives closer to where he stays." Lin eagerly added. "Chances are they would've noticed him if he frequents the area."

@@Hazard Time,

Ziggy was about to say something about how she had apparently been Fah'lina's puppet for a bit and that was how she got in here, when the door behind her got destroyed and the booming voice gave her a shock that sent her towards the roof. Literally. She had taken off like her hooves was on fire, and were currently clinging to a roof truss, thinking that something were attacking them.

Fah'lina on the other hand, didn't approach the situation the same way. Certainly, she had gotten a shock when the door had broken, and the combination of the noise that made, along with the booming voice, had hurt her ears, but her reaction to this wasn't to face the invader by running away, but rather to confront.

Within seconds, she had turned towards the princess, and in sight of everypony would arch her back and look at Luna with hard eyes before opening her gaping maw in all it's gloy and let out a deep, guttural hiss from somewhere within the mouth with the several rows of sharp teeth that were large enough to fit over a regular pony's head.

She were pretty much immobile when she did this, but it were to add size and a level of threat to her presence that she did this, and not to hunt down something. If she were hunting, she'd wait until she were close enough to chomp down, and wouldn't have folded out her ears as much as possible to try and give some width too.

It would be... Well, likely rather ineffective, but it was an instinctual, territorial thing, and she hadn't the faintest idea about the princess being anything other than just a tall pony with a larger mane and tail, so there wasn't an idea of an actual threat that should make her hide. She had never seen a princess before and hadn't an clue how royalty fitted into things, nor the power they had, so she were not against trying hers to scare the intruder away from her flock.

As ineffective as the show would likely be - at least towards Luna, Succulent might be another story as she had just seen the cute side thus far - the sight might be interesting to Luna. Not because of the defensive ways of the creature, but because she might know the actual kind of creature this were as they had once populated the rivers around the area that in time would become Canterlot, as well as a few rivers near the Castle of the Two Sisters before she turned into Nightmare Moon.

Why this were interesting? Because this kind of creature had reportedly gone extinct centuries ago.

They had come around some time after Discord had taken over Equestria, evolving alongside the lingering chaos magic in the air to better suit the sometimes more hostile world there was back then, and after he had been defeated had settled down a few places rich in fish and gotten along in relative peace until they were discovered.

They bred slowly and wasn't a species that often moved to find new grounds, preferring instead to nurture where they lived a little so they wouldn't run out of fish and other needed things, so they weren't seen as that bad creatures, although the strangeness of them had gotten some odd looks for a while. They were mostly playful and liked to hang around other beings, such as ponies, long as they didn't get near when there were off-spring in their nests, so for some it was quite the thing to find one of their populated areas and see how they were doing.

Luna might have known of them as they tended to be working on *schedules* so to speak, with there always being some there were awake to keep guard of get things done in some kind of capacity, so there were the *shift workers* that had more or less become completely nocturnal because of it, and with some being close enough to the castle, it might be that she had been around to see some of the few creatures who didn't all sleep under the moon's gaze.

It wasn't really certain what had happened to them though. The ones in the forest had seemingly relocated after the battle at the castle, and the last time they had been seen near Canterlot was about thirty years after it had been build, before they too suddenly went away without a trace. There had been plenty of theories about where the  adaptable creatures had gone to in the time since, but with no trace and no words about them from anywhere, eventually it was just thought they had gone extinct for some reason.

Seems like it wasn't so after all.

"No, I never talked to her. Most ponies run away when I show myself, and if she knew master, I couldn't scare her. He would not want it.

And asking others... Sen and I did that once. It weren't met with answers. The bat pony said something, but it didn't sound like a clue. Advise I think?"

Omen recalled the interaction between the Night Guard whose name she couldn't place right now and them one of the past days, where he had told them about how asking around about Discord likely wasn't that good of an idea. He had taken them to his office afterwards and said a few things about Discord before Sen and him had filed out a search form for Lin. Like Sen had said, they should likely get past him at some point and tell him it wasn't needed anymore really. Perhaps something to do first when they got back?

It wouldn't be that long all things considered before they reached the door outwards, and when they did, Omen would open it for them and let them back out into the ever-shifting world outside Mother's home. Lin would likely feel a little strange out here, with her ability to open gates now being able to work again, though she might not be able to open anytrhing yet, and likely couldn't aim it anywhere. It wasn't as easy as one might think when you weren't created with the tracking Omen's kind had, and it were still a new power for Lin. It'd likely take a good deal of time for her to have it under control, though random ones might happen.

Then again, perhaps she would have enough grasp on magic and the focus of it to give a fair try at opening a random gate? It was hard to say with any certainty, though as Omen walked out of the hallways she didn't think on it, or the possibility. Mother hadn't told her of what Lin might be able to do now, and she hadn't been there when the three others had discussed this prior to them going for the magical destination, so it didn't even enter her mind as a possibility. instead, she just looked around, trying to find a point too go for that would get them where they needed to.

"Time to find Ponyville then."

"I can cover that."

Chow interrupted before the doctor even had the chance to say something, and the arth pony waves for the zebra foal to follow him until they reached a minor pile of small crates.

"Ain't the highest quality supplies, but it should do the trick. Better than going into town and getting messed up in something for sure."

He rummaged around a few of them, looking in, before he finally took hold of one to the left and opened the lid fully, showing to her a minor crate of apples that had likely been brought from the part of the market that wasn't engulfed earlier.

"I know it could be better, but we have to work with what we have for now. And hey, it's better than pet food at least."

Double Chow grinned slightly towards the foal, knowing well that if there was one here that knew about the bad taste of pet food it'd have to be him, and he could for sure say the apples were better. Pet food - or at least the kind he made - were too filled with meat to be either tasty or edible to a pony, though a griffin might have a go in a pinch. Depended on what sort of cut it were from the beast mostly, and what else had been added. Yet, not important. No griffins here after all, just ponies.

It had taken a bit of time for Last to get up the building with the holes in the roof she were moving up through, but as soon as she got up there and saw Nemo starting to be on the move with a pony in one of his arms, she made the jump and started to strike without thought. She had hoped to get to the neck, and she did have some height that could help that, but she had to help others too in this battle so Nemo wouldn't get stronger, so the arm it were.

The angle she were striking at should hold enough power to either cut through the arm or at least damage it enough so that he'd have to drop the one he were carrying, and if it got through the arm, would keep striking inwards towards his body. It was hard to say how much resistance were in Nemo and therefore, how much the strike would loose in power from cutting into him, but hopefully this would do something. The battle was drawing on for far too long for her taste, and there were only so many times she could do reckless strikes like this before she were eventually swatted like a fly. Though hopefully, it wouldn't come to that.

Meanwhile, Zhu looked at the barely corporeal Charlie and watching the vague, few clips of a future he saw for the spirit. It would appear that this were the spirit in question that he knew the demon mare had forged a deal with for a new body, which were rather interesting as he had thought they had done that before this started, yet didn't help the current situation much. It was just another thing to handle in the aftermath.

"I know of the impact it can have upon the balance, and I see what future comes if it is not stopped. Something that should be stopped, though for the time being, that is of no concern to you. Conserve your strength, and leave this to us."

(the following only happens if Charlie doesn't tell him to wait)

As Zhu left the dome he were met with yet another sight of random destruction that had occurred in his short time in there. Not unsurprising, as this were one of the possibilities he had seen so very long ago now, but how ot handle it were another deal entirely and relied some on the abilities of the ones that had already taken their own precautions.

The ananasi seemed like they had set up the thing that should trap the being further, which should soon get into power and doing its part to keep the old being here, along with the two remaining ones of its kind that were attempting to slow it down in what ways they could, whilst avoiding the *rift* so to speak, that had been opened.

It seemed the changeling and kitsune had yet to get through with more of their part in this, but it should happen soon enough, and frankly his interest were more on the rift for a little than them. A few beings were visible through there that he knew were victims of the Forgotten One, and even if they had been part of things, he could no longer place them in his mind, yet there were one thing he could: The blade held by the pony aiming for the old being. It were an artefact that he had not been able to locate, no matter how much he had sought, but knew should have been part of this fight. It seemed like it had become after all, just in a place where he couldn't interact with things.

But, it were not his concern for the time being. He could not make contact with that pony as it were right now, so he should focus on where he could do things. Such as raising the winds to be redy to take hold of beings that got tossed around or were attempted to be thrown into the rift. With some luck, he could avoid more casualties or sacrifices from happening until things proceeded to the crucial point. Hopefully, this would soon be, as there were limits to how much any being could keep fighting before they became too drained by the ordeal.

As for Meeko... Well, the wolf had quickly run over to Ginger when the tail got off the bucket and were currently standing next to Ginger, with his front paws on her body and looking at her with some degree of worry. Something which could also be heard in the small barks he gave towards the half-blood changeling.

Everything that has happened here is totally over Lonk's head. He thought he knew what was going on: there's an invisible monster attacking Ponyville and all the freaks of the town banded together to stop it.

There's more to it though. Something about the fate of the universe being at stake.

And everything seems to be going at a stalemate. One being against 8 or more. Maybe one more would turn the tides? But what would that do? All Lonk can do is have night vision, and some magic could easily accomplish that. What's the use?

Maybe his random trip of him sprouting claws is linked to the night vision. Maybe he actually does have claws.

He raises his hoof and wills it to sprout pointed nails.

Nothing happens.

Well, it was worth a try.

Still, there's more to him that he doesn't know. The letter from earlier pops into his mind. Not what was on it though. He thinks it told him to go to Ponyville. What help that was.

...On he trots. Not to the building though. To the battlefield. Whatever happens to him, it will probably reveal everything about himself. Probably.

Zinthar saw the little morsel that Crescent pointed out, yet didn't know what to think of this one. Mischievous brat was the first words that came to mind really, but it was hard to be sure if this was something important or just a part of this dream. There'd always be foals that were less than pleasant to be around, and if this was the dream of some kid then it stood to reason that there'd be some in here that wasn't good ones.

Still, if this one were really part pf the dream, why run away from them? The little one should stay around the ones in the dream... Bah, where was the point in thinking this over? Might as well capture the foal, then see what would happen from there. Easier than thinking, or at least were when his head were still pounding.

"Who can say for sure?"

Lyriel interjected the comment between the weird whisperings to the tree before Nerzhei could answer for her again. It wasn't that she minded that they spoke amongst eachother currently, as she had most of her focus on listening to what this tree *spoke* to her about, but it had felt like a time when she had to say something of her own.

To say that the tree spoke wasn't exactly true though. It hadn't the cognitive pieces for that sort of thing, but she could connect to it and feel out what it had gone through in it's time here, which in a sense were a way to communicate. It was not easy to interpret unless you knew what you were doing, which was why it required most of her focus that wasn't spent on making sure it were properly healed, but it were a beautiful story to behold regardless. Mundane for most, perhaps, but to her it was something special, and very unlike the strange feelings that came from the trees in the valley.

Finally, she let go of the tree and waved it back towards the forest where it planted itself and spread its branches towards the sky once more, before she turned and looked at the others. There were still tears on her cheeks, but they slowly got drained by her skin and left no trace behind as she moved to their side once more.

"I'm sorry, it was simply... Breathtaking, in ways I could scarcely explain."

"How much did you hear?"

The dragoness looked at Lyriel with a somewhat suspicious look in her eyes. In the camp, they had always figured this time the only point where they could really look at them before they went nuts, and this made her somewhat paranoid about whatever or not they had been the butt end of some joke. Or well, if the others had, as she hadn't been there before after things went downhill, but the point still stood.

"Enough to know that your theory is somewhat flawed, though you do have the right idea on some aspects."

"Care to elaborate?"

"Not currently, no. It is hard and time-consuming to explain these things, and as our friends here have pointed out, we really should be on our way. I promise you though, another time I will try and answer as well as I can."

Nerzhei looked at the Dryad for a good while, but eventually just nodded and turned around, leading them down the path they were on before again.

"If we keep up pace, we should be seeing sea in a half hour or so."

"I will attempt not to slow us down by going crazy then, or weep further, but I make no promises."

Lyriel felt in a rather good mood right now. Enough to taunt the dragoness a little, along with Summer, who she sent a little wink, to signal that she had well heard her little comment about her before. Not that she minded really, it was a valid concern that they thought that she might go mad, considering what she had told them, combined with how little they really knew about her kind. Some of it she could answer, and reassure/explain about, but in the end it were as Nerzhei had said: Not even the dryads themselves knew everything about them.

But, there were little point in thinking about this currently. Onwards they went, with no distractions. Well, unless you counted Blitz that were still spending some excess energy it seemed, as she ran around giggling for a bit longer, before finally, she settled down some, and began to wander alongside Frosty and Summer.

"Strange things happening everywhere in dragon country. It's fun! Think we're gonna have more fun at the ocean?"

She sounded really gleeful when the word *ocean* came over her lips, but how couldn't it? She had never seen such a thing before - at least as far as she knew - and she loved new experiences. Like this whole trip from they woke up in the valley had been. Lots and lots of new experiences, new fun, and adventure!

Ziggy thought over this for a bit, just swaying from side to side in her downwards position, whilst down on the nearby table, Fah'lina closed her mouth, though she still looked defensively on the princess.

The other ponies seemed relaxed around this one, and it sounded like she had reacted to what she'd think off as a distress cry, so perhaps giving her some space and see what would happen would be the thing to do. Okay, there were the coat pun that was sort of against that... Oh well, she'd behave from now then.

@@EQ_Theta,

Omen hadn't the time to answer, nor really be sure where the gate she had opened would get them, before Sen and Lin walked through. She just knew that it were somewhere there, and that a familiar energy was on the other side, though she hadn't had the chance to really think over who it were beyond it being one she had met there before.

The answer would become apparent when they'd all step through on the other side and see the office that they had been in before, now with less crates, a few more things unpacked, and a few meters from them, a bat pony foal hanging down from the ceiling in her tail and looking at them with awe and her jaw almnost hitting the... Well, ceiling would fit the expression better, considering the position.

"Woah. How'd you do that?"

Her mane rummaged a little and a large spider glanced out, and fixated its two, red eyes on the strangers without going further away from his hairy hideout.

"Alright, think I got a room sorted for you Je- By the night!"

Stargazer came down from upstairs with a stack of papers, which he promptly dropped all over the place in shock when his eyes fell on the scene in front of him. Sure, he'd seen much in his eyears, but a hole in mid air, with strange things happening behind it, and three odd creatures in his office? Nopony could be prepared for that sort of thing.

He instinctively grabbed for something to attack the intruders with before his higher brain functions began to kick in and he began to recognise some of this scene. Not all of it, obviously, but two of the creatures rang a bell wit him at least, though he had almost forgotten about them. It might be hard to believe that he could forget these sort of beings, but it had been some long days and he still hadn't gotten time to get a proper rest. Also, the entrance of these didn't help things on his sleep-deprived brain.

"Just... What is..."

Jelly Drop heard her dad give out a long, drawn out sigh, which she knew was usually what he did to clear his head and get some focus back into things, though what was gonna happen next she hadn't the faintest idea about. This wasn't like anything she'd seen before, so there wasn't any saying what he were going to do. Though,s he should probably get over to him so he didn't have to worry about her in all of this.

She let go of where she had hung out and flew silently over next to her dad. When she got there, she subconsciously pushed a little at the tinted glasses she had on - more of a habit than a need - and kept her curious eyes on the entourage in front of them, though she kept silent for now as Stargazer refocused on the folks in front of them.

"Alright, somepony close that thing and-"

He hadn't even ended the sentence before the thing had more or less imploded upon itself, with no indication of who had done so. So now he had a magic user that could open holes in the air without showing any signs of doing it. Could this get any better?

"Just... Tell me why you're here."

You could hear him grumble something to himself about this town becoming the death of him, though some things were too low to be heard properly, even by those with good ears.

"Uh... yes, about all of this..." Sen hesitantly stepped forward, hoping his memory might serve himself and the other pony well. He gathered every relevant memory in order to get Stargazer's mind to jog for a moment. "You might not remember me too well but I'm the same strange creature who approached you when I first came to Ponyville. You know, to help me find my sister?"

Lin stepped back and tried to make herself appear smaller, and possibly less threatening. Being around ponies is new to her and her nervousness around them is already made apparent. Having hybrid features that really stood apart from those of Sen and Omen didn't exactly exude feelings of comfort and warmth but such is the way appearances work. The eyes pick up on an image and the mind is left to fill in the blanks with information that the individual could think of without asking questions. The most important pieces only came after voicing curiosity, but not everyone does so. Sen noticed his sister inching away from the rest of those present and continued.

"I just wanted to let you know it's okay to call off the search for her since she's already found. And I'd also like to ask if you've seen a specific pony. A mare, to be exact, one who is familiar with someone called Discord?"

"Well...knock on wood."  Succulent was still incredulous that THE Princess Luna had just broken down the door of her hostess' house, so all she could do was sit there and stare.  Inside, her thoughts continued to bounce around her cranium, trying to connect with something that she could do to not make herself look like an idiot.

"Should...shouldn't we be bowing right about now?"  The perfumier tentatively slipped from her chair and prostrated herself, her eyes going to her friends to observe if she was doing the right thing.  Was it just crystal ponies who showed their rulers great respect?

"I remember you longma. Senlin, far as the papers said, yes?"

Longma's wasn't easy to forget, and especially not ones that ran around with whatever Omen were. Yet, the shock of them appearing out of a hole in the air wasn't exactly something that made him recognise first as much as being shocked. Especially as Jelly was down there, and worrying about her right after the initial shock hadn't sped up the process.

There was a new addition though, yet he weren't really sure what to say of that one. Looked sort of like a longma, but darker, and with glowing parts that he didn't understand the purpose of currently, and were reluctant to ask about. Some things were better left unsaid.

"Guessing that means this is your sister then? I'd ask where you found her, but it ain't none of my business. I'll send some letters out tomorrow though telling that she's found, and to call off the search."

As he went through the motions, Jelly kept her position next to him, though her eyes were following Lin. In the filly's eyes, this was a pretty strange, fascinating creature to be faced with that she hadn't t he faintest clue what were. Her dad had just said longma, so that should be it, though the word didn't ring a bell. Were it a new species? And why did the two of them look so different?

Questions upon questions piled up after that, though no answers were found as she kept looking at Lin with curiosity glimmering in her eyes. Likely wouldn't be any either, but it was interesting to look at least.

"As for the mare you speak about, I'm going to need a little more information. I mean, there's several in the town that knows Discord-"

"Fluttershy."

The one word from Omen made Stargazer cringe a little, as the voice were once again whispering in his head, though this time he wasn't the only one. Jely hid it worse though when it started to rummage up on the top floor, but otherwise, they had a pretty similar response to things.

"Fluttershy, yes. The mare who looks at me strangely when I walk near her house. Is thre a particular reason you seek her, beyond the rumour that she sends letters to Discord?"

Rumours were all he figured they were until now, as even though he might come around and be with somepony, he couldn't imagine anypony just casually exchanging letters with him. And especially not the timid mare that he had seen, even if she were one of the former carriers of the elements of harmony.

Peace and quiet, as rare as it might be from time to time, did fall over some parts of the Everfree forest. Usually around the edges, within sight of Ponyville, but a little further in it ould happen as well. Such as tonight, under the stars when even the timberwolves seemed to have better things to do than making noise.

"Urgh, what a day."

And there the peace went, interrupted by somepony who put down his wagon and let out a large, annoyed sigh. A vendor from the looks of things, though one might wonder what one of those did out here in the forest, all alone, at this late hour. It could be dangerous out here after all.

"*Oh hello, do you sell cider?"

The vendor went up in a puff of jade flames and a middle-aged pony mare stood there instead, talking with a mockery of a mare's voice by the changeling impersonating her, though it seemed as if he talked to himself rather than anypony else. Apparently, he thought this a place where nopony were listening in or watching things, such as him switching back now again to his vendor form and speaking almost with a snarl.

"Cider, cider, and more bloody cider. I swear, the next one who asks for that swill is going to get a flask of poison."

The changeling in question, Happy Hour, wasn't overly happy with how things had gone today. Sure, he had made a sale of things, and the business went fine, but it was really starting to trigger him when everypony thought he sold cider. They were obsessed with it in this area, and it irked him as he hated that swill, and wouldn't sell it if he got paid for it. He only barely allowed a few flasks in his storage in case he needed to get something drunk by somepony outside of business hours. Unfortunately, it were rather effective at that, but that didn't mean that he liked it.

Thankfully, he had found a little place in the forest to rest, and get off some steam about this before he blew a casket. One of life's little blessings far as he were concerned.

Brianna was walking through the Everfree Forest, disguised as a Unicorn mare with a dark purple coat and a baby blue tail and mane. She knew that hardly anypony went through there, but she'd been extra cautious since "The Canterlot Incident". She saw a Vendor Pony by the looks of it, further along the path. Though she sensed something was not normal about him. She would have to get closer to find out. She approached him silently, him barely hearing her right behind him. "Hel-I mean, Hello." She said, switching from her normal voice to a regular mare's.

@@Blitz Boom, She looked at the fruit recognizing it now that he mentioned the name. "Ah! Astral used one of these in a potion recipe!" She gasped. "Oh rats! It's used for a health potion, we could've totally used that instead." She said peeling off the skin, then slowly eating the insides to enjoy the flavor. "That makes me feel better in a way, knowing she really did just wanted to show me how much she cared." She took another bite. "At the same time, she could've just asked me to go to our house and pick them from our farm."

"It's just Sen now, Stargazer," Sen replied while trying to cover up his face from Lin's snickering somewhere around the back of the room. He didn't tell her about the name change and he regrets not letting her know sooner. From Lin's perspective, she desperately tried to stifle her chuckling, having to turn around and run for the nearest exit... and probably the nearest bush or hole in the ground so she could let out all of her laughter. She excused herself and temporarily left Sen and Omen's presence.

Sen turned back to Stargazer and continued, wishing he could excuse himself as well to go after his sister. "Yes, that's the name. Fluttershy.  My sister and I wanted to help find Discord for our friend, Omen, but we thought it might be easier to find someone who has been in constant contact with Discord. Fluttershy is our best option; I assumed Discord's history with Ponyville was an unpleasant one and not many might be willing to talk about him."
