Name: Flamma

Race: Human

Gender: Male

Age: 27

Appearance: Around a slightly above average height and a muscular physique, Flamma is not a little pipsqueak. He has short blonde spiked hair, blue eyes and a scar across his left chin. His body displays the clear bruises of a soldier, giving an indication that he's been in combat before. Flamma is wearing what would appear to be a traditional "gladiator" outfit (inspired by the roman gladiator outfit), with worn bandages wrapped around his ankles, hands, mouth and feet. The outfit also includes a leather sword-belt, a metal shoulder-guard and a pair of gauntlets.

4-roman-gladiators-granger.jpg

Personality: Born to wield a sword, Flamma fought in arenas against other combatants around the age of 14, giving him a confident and some would say cautious attitude towards others, but has since been proven to be loyal and protective of his friends and those he cares about. He is a fighter, and always will be - failure is not an option!

Skills:

- Swordmaster - Flamma is a gladiator, a pit dog and by such knows his way around the art of combat, sword/shield mastership etc.

- Loyal and Cunning - Flamma was taught from early childhood that friendship and brotherhood is everything, and that he should never leave no one behind.

Magical Aptitude: None.

Relic: Sufferthorn (his blade).

I'm currently updating a lot on information still, currently just re-writing the lore for the races, and trying to get some quick sketches thrown together for them all as well.

I'm a terrible at freehand stuff though - really terrible - so don't expect wonders.

@

I think it's time I join one of these roleplays again. Let's hope more people become interested soon! It seems like a really cool concept.

Name: Samuil Yöndrsson

Race: Blooded

Gender: Male

Age: 17

Appearance:

Samuil looks like a slender, fragile young man. A boy almost. Facial hair slowly beginning to appear and a slim shoulder-width suggest that he isn't out of puberty yet. His hair is a little bit longer than usual and messy, but like with most blooded straight and silky, his hair often haning in front of his face if not tucked behind his ears or stuck in a tiny ponytail.

Though slender, he limbs look fairly muscular and strong. Of course his body language contradicts that, with his shoulders hanging and his head bowed down, but if you look closely you can see that a lot of effort has been done to increase the boy's muscle mass. In vain it seems, sadly. One feature that can be noticed fairly easily are his fairly large hands, with even longer fingers. About 3 centimeters longer than the average human, his bony fingers scare most people off when given a handshake. That on top of his grey skin make his hands and arms look slightly morbid.

Samuil's eyecolor changes depending on his mood and current emotion. Much like a mood-indicator ring if you will. If he is sad, his eyes will be deep blue. If he is angry, his eyes will be red. If he is in fear, his eyes will turn very dark purple. And so on, and so on. This has something to do with his magical abilities, and will be evaluated further in this background.

From a distance, Samuil looks like an incredibly shy and introverted young man, sometimes he may even seem scared. Usually he hides his skin under his clothes, ashamed of it. He wears a long coat with a hood over fairly simple citizens clothing. As of now, a lot of his clothing seems severly damaged, tathered by what it seems forces of nature after a long period of travel.

Personality:

Generally, Samuil is a very introverted and anxious person. Though he has a lot going on in his thoughts, he will usually prefer keeping to himself in most social situaions. He prefers to follow others, or otherwise live in solitude. If he is given charge of certain situaions or choices, his first rection would be very inconfident and fearful.

However, Samuil reacts very well to positive reinforcement. If encouraged, a more self-assured and open personality is revealed. Then a fairly capable leader can thrive, and his descision-making won't be so uncertain as it usually is. Once Samuil has gained confidence his is not quick to fall back into his usual habit, but it can happen.

In essence, Samuil is still just a boy slowly becoming a man. He is still very fearful and uncertain of things that happened in the past, and his family have never realy done a good job at being a good example. Samuil needs something or someone to look up to and to guide him, though he doesn't know that yet himself. Right now Samuil is avoiding anyone he meets.

Skills:

Stealthy: Samuil has learned to hide. Though he is a master of deception nor disguise, he can do a decent job at hiding in dark places or in camouflage.

Dextrous: Samuil's dextrous and slender fingers make him more skilled with knives than most people. He is capable of hiding and retrieving them quickly, and is a difficult opponent with two knives in his hands. He is still not a fighter however, and won't be able to stand up against a seasoned warrior.

Cook: Samuil has a talent for cooking. Not anything special, any food he makes is just generally really good.

Magical Aptitude:

(there's a section here that I'm not sure that you are O.K. with Cinder, so just tell me if you don't agree. I won't mind changing it :) )

Samuil hasn't always been Blooded. He used to be an average human boy in a small village in the northen mountains. Something strange happened to him when a powerful magical force took him as a host. Samuil doesn't remember much about his transformation, but all he knows is that the force looked somewhat like a fiery phoenix. His body had adapted to the magic during his puberty, and it had turned him into a Blooded. His magical abilities were tremendous in his eyes, but no matter how much he tried he couldn't get full control over it. Samuil still hasn't found out the truth of his magical abilities.

- Adaptive specialisation -

Samuil has a very small amount of power over his magic at all times, being capable of doing trivial things that most human mages can. However, his specialisation constantly shifts without his knowledge. It depends on his mood and current emotion what his current specialisation is. If he is angry, he is greatly more powerful with controlling fire. If he is sad or in despair, his control over water and ice improves. Here's a little list:

Joy - Fortitude; Love - Healing

Anger - Heat; Rage - Fire

Sadness - Water; Grief - Ice

Fear - Shadow; Terror - Illusion

Disgust - Air; Hatred - lightning

Confidence - Earth; Serenity - Nature

All of his emotions do not only have an effect on his magical output, they actually have an immediate effect on his own body. When Sam is in sorrow, he will cool down, eventually undercooling him and killing him. Subsequently, if Sam enters a total state of rage he will be set on fire. Confidence will make him extremely hard to knock down and nature will make him rejunivate energy when he is in sunlight. You can imaginte the possibilities, but also the dangers of this. And since Sam doesn't know about this yet, and since he is a giant nest of hormones, magic particularly hard to control for Sam.

Relic:

Sam got rid of most his belongings when he left his home, but the one thing he keeps with him is a small trinket that he hangs around his neck. It resembles a tiny glass vial filled with liquid. It is a strong perfume that his love had once bought for him as a meaningless present, but it had become the final thing he had left of her now, so it meas something special to him.

Let's give this a go. It seems rather interesting. Have you though up all that story and those names yourself?

Anyway...

Name: Mike. (Just Mike)

Race: Human

Gender: Male

Age: 24

Appearance: He's rather tall, standing at 6'3" with a strong appearance. He's wide in the shoulders, but average in the hips. He has dark brown hair that is a bit longer, up untill about his shoulders (think Kurt Cobain).

He wears full plate armour. It is a black brushed steel colour with brushed silvery edges on his shoulders, knees and elbows. It is mostly decorated with things such as skulls, fire, bones and other things that resemble death. The tips of his fingers are sharp and pointy.

Personality: Even though he may look impressive and scary. He's actually very nice to others. He only uses violence when needed, or if he is really very angry.

Skills: Can cook very nice meals, strong, heavy armour. Level 89 in one handed.

Magical Aptitude: Magic is for the ones who can not lift a sword

Relic: He does have this giant axe on his back. He got it from his father, who now has passed away.

Updated some lore on magic in the world: that, and all three current races have some (terrible) artwork!

@@Scribblegroove,

One thing that I would ask to be changed is the race-switching part: it's a little conflicting the the Blooded and their history. Aside for that, i'd be more than happy to accept.

@@RainbowDashie,

Sorry, but I'd need some more detail on his character and less focus on combat. The problem is that as things stand, there really isn't anything to him other than how good at fighting he is. The only thing in there that isn't about fighting is that he is 'nice' and good at cooking.

I just need something deeper - something that shows a character with some depth, flaws and defects: with some personality.

That is exactly what I thought you would be against, like I said in the background itself. No worries, I'll change it, it's just something interesting I came up with since I didn't know how blooded actually came to exist.

Great that you accept the funky magic part. I was a little afraid you'd disallow that too :)

@@Scribblegroove,

Excellent: yeah, no worries with the magic. It looks like it will fit in just fine!

Basically, I've got certain things that are 'preset' in my mind - like the history of the Blooded - and anything else that doesn't conflict with that is fair game. Funky new magic? So long as it doesn't mess with the lore then I've no problem at all. :)

Gender: Male

Age: 18

Appearance: Platinum Blonde choppy hair with crystal blue eyes, his head is round in shape, (and look at the pic to see what he's wearing I have a hard time with appearance)

Personality: The first impression he always has is that he's a big jerk, and their right. Stubborn to a fault he will insult anybody friend or foe. He's also always itching for a good fight and challenge. Despite the odds, Arrogant and annoying he could care less with wahts going on in the world. (Think of Old Dante)

Skills: He's a novice marksman with a long bow and acrobatic while he does have a dagger for close range fighting he chooses to fight from a distance, and not that experienced with close ranged fighting. his stamina is huge but he can't take a lot of hits.

Bear in mind folks, that combat isn't the primary focus of this. I'm seeing a lot of 'warriors' of various types and... well, the world is going to burn if everyone is trying to carve things up.

'Course, I'm not going to say we can't have a party of fifty human knights: just that a diverse group will get a lot more opportunities and options.

---------------

@@Flying Ace,

One request I would make would be to either up his age or reduce his skill. At eighteen he's practically still a teenager and couldn't really have enough experience to 'master' anything. Besides, it means he can develop more as the story progresses.

Aside from that, I'm happy to accept him!

Hi @Cinderscribe,

You may not know me, but I've heard a lot about you from Scribblegroove, actually I'm his friend irl.. So let me just give this thing a shot..

Name: Withrbaen Stëkr

Race: human

Gender: male

Age: 24

Appereance:

Withrbaen has an almost grey toned skin, it is purely bad luck that he has a disease like this. Very little people have it and he is one of them, but he is even in a smaller category; the survivors. He has been treated like a bastard child in his small village as long a he remembers, and when he started to achieve performing minimal magic, he was totally cast out. Now all he has temporarily are his dirty, smelly, worn-out clothes that appear too small in more then one way. And a little bit if magical power, to help him survive by telling him which plants are edible and

Which aren't. His body features a sleek figure, though pretty muscular but certainly not meant for fighting hordes of enemies. He moves almost as some sort of animal. He has long, greasy and tangled hair, and watery dark eyes, misses 3 teeth and his nose is broken at least once. He doesn't wear anything on his feet.

Personality:

Withrbaen has not been under other humans for a long time, at least not with them noticing, he does not speak a lot, however if he speaks, he has thought about it, and talks with a soothing voice in his sometimes cryptic way of speech. Withrbaen is a hunter, but not much of a civilized one. He hunts for food, and he does it his way, as he always does anything. He never really understood affection, because he doesn't remember the last time something, or someone showed it to him. Everything smaller than him and not aware of his presence is equal to a prey, everything larger than him is a predator, but, luckily, most humans are smaller.

Skills:

Withrbaen is skilled in the arts of hiding, especially in bushes, jungles and forests, actually anything that is green and lives.. He is also very talented in setting traps, snares and gathering food like berry's nuts and edible plants and vegetables. He is not good at fighting, but he is muscular and he doesn't mind killing a few 'preys' if they enter his domain. He prefers sneak attacks and backstabbing, or throwing something sharp or pointy at someone from outside of its(mind, human is it... intentional) vision range. He can make great smokeless fireplaces and he is 'proficient' in 'cooking' his own meal.

Which most of the time is raw meat, or raw plants, or raw meat with raw plants, or burnt meat with raw plants... Actually anything that is quickly done and nutritious.

Basically;

-hide and seek(read hide, hunt and kill)

-make fire

-burn meat

-SURVIVE!

Magical aptitude:

Withrbaen can slightly transform plants and living beings, making them edible or guarding him from pesky, rain. Also magic sometimes helps if a trap doesn't get as good as Withrbaen wanted..

-specialized nature(and snaring), but primitive as sh.. Poop.

Relic:

Carry's a little slightly curving dagger, bound to the hip with a vine, imbedded with shiny gems in its hilt. Looted of some dead guy near the edge of the woods, looked like he was pretty fried, tasted that way too, probably something magical, that or lightning, but the dagger came in handy, for cutting vegetables mainly. But also sometimes for skinning a rabbit or a fox. Or for getting those nasty fish bones out of his teeth, on the few places where they COULD get stuck..

I hope this is sufficient, because I would love joining this RP, it is my first time though and English is not my native language, so don't expect too much from me ;)

This seems to be a very interesting RP. Personally, I'm surprised no-one's made an Eldritch character yet, so here we go.

Name: Tha'ur

Race: Eldritch

Gender: Male

Age: 132 (I'm assuming here Eldritch age at 1/3 the speed of humans, so he's the human equivalent of 44)

Appearance: Tha'ur is a dinstinctly humanoid figure, consisting of a dark blue, almost black, fog with piercing green eyes

Personality: He cares little for the other races and regards them as inferior, especially the Blooded. Tha'ur would kill any Blooded who wronged him without a second thought or care, as he sees them as filthy half-breeds. Around his own kind however, he is happy and friendly to those he knows, but cautious of others.

Skills:

-Highly Magical-

Tha'ur is a highly magical being and cannot survive in an area deprived of magic for longer than 2 minutes. He can however, utilise his magic better than most other Eldritch. If he uses up his reserves in any non-highly magical area however, he simply dies. He also has little physical defense and is therefore weak, physically at least.

-Intelligent-

Tha'ur is intelligent and can solve most logic based problems posed to him.
Magical Aptitude:

Tha'ur is very magically capable and has control over a magic many deem questionable: shadow magic. He can also perform very basic elemental magic, like all Eldritch.

-Spell List-

Shadow Bolt: Tha'ur conjures a ball of darkness, then propels it at a target. The ball then darkens the surrounding area and lightly damages all living things directly hit. This spell is the most basic shadow magic he knows, and only requires around 5% of his energy.

Veil of Darkness: Tha'ur completely darkens an area around him, ridding it of all light, allowing him to slip away unnoticed. This is a more complex spell to perform, and as such Tha'ur cannot cast it rapidly without draining himself rapidly as well (25% of his energy).

Dark Summon: Tha'ur summons a being of pure darkness for several seconds, following his will and attacking with sharp claws. This is one of the most complex spells Tha'ur knows and it drains him (75% of his energy), leaving him nearly completely drained if he casts another spell within at least a minute. This spell requires him to be in an area with higher than average concentrations of magic or he is at risk of dying.

The Dusk Cull: Tha'ur darkens the area around him, bringing it to late evening in darkness, inspiring fear into all surrounding him. He then unleashes raw arcane power, dealing large amounts of damage to surrounding enemies. This spell must be performed in an area with massive concentrations of magic, or else he will die. He cannot do anything after this for around 3 hours either, so this is a last resort for him (98% of his energy).

Spark: Tha'ur sparks a small area with magic, possibly starting a fire. This is a basic spell, one almost all Eldritch are capable of performing without a blink (1% of his energy).

Armor: Tha'ur can utilise magic in the area to armor himself in a similar fashion to hardened, or if he extends his will far enough, stone. To create basic armor, it is more of a reflex that uses around 1% of his reserves every minute, but for stone it requires ten times as much effort.

Chill: Tha'ur saps an area of heat, possibly freezing water-based materials. This is a basic spell, similar to spark.

Gust: Tha'ur creates an artifical gust with his magic. This spell is useless in almost all circumstances. Only requires 2% energy.

Relic:

-Shard of Darkness-

Tha'ur is in possession of a crystal shard imbued with the power of darkness and is the source of his dark magics. He contains this crystal in the centre of his chest, close to the surface. If this shard is shattered, Tha'ur is left nearly powerless and can be killed by a butter knife, or even uncooked rice.

Sorry I'm slow to reply folks: real life takes priority of course, but I'm also still creating lore, writing story elements and creating rubbish artwork! You'll probably have noticed the initial post ever expanding.

@@Brushwuzz,

One very small query - how is his name pronounced? I'm afraid that I'm not completely familiar with accents, other than very basic ones.

With-ar-bane / St-E-kir?

@@Flying Ace,

Excellent: here's an official acceptance then! I'm happy with talented individuals: it would just be hard to justify a teenager being better than a trained, experienced soldier, that was all.

Why do I now feel compelled to create an 'uncooked rice' monster? Huh.

Well, I'm happy with that! A note that Elementals do exist in the world already, and that you may have accidentally stumbled across some of their lore when creating your spells. Pretty accurately actually... Huh again.

Accepted!

Little note btw: My pc is broken, so I write ecerything on my phone.. So that will be the main reason there's some typos and the layout isn't really neat. Also I heard there are some binds I can use foor bold and italics and color, I would like to know them.

It is a strong perfume that his love had once bought for him as a meaningless present, but it had become the final thing he had left of her now, so it means something special to him.

@@RaptorJaysus, as Tha'ur.

Dark Summon: Tha'ur pours his own essence into a violent elemental being of pure darkness, which is then bound to his will for several seconds, before either being banished or breaking free of the casters control. This is an unnaturally powerful spell which fuses the majority of his own essence with elemental darkness - leaving him drained, weakened and exhausted.

Spark: Tha'ur sparks a small area with concentrated magic, possibly starting a fire. This is a basic spell, one almost all Eldritch are capable of performing without a blink (1% of his energy).

Armor: Tha'ur can utilise magic in the area to armor himself in a similar fashion to a hardened shell, or if he extends his will far enough, stone.

Raptor, your summoning spell was - as I mentioned - very similar to how I had pictured elemental being being created. I tweaked it a little to reflect that, but Its your choice whether you want to go with it or stick to your initial version.

I agree on, and am happy with how things are. :P

Just one thing, but it's not that important. This IS in fact my first RP online.. So I don't have a really clear contemplation of how the plot will develop, but I'll try to be as much of a good poster as I believe you guys undoubtedly are ;)

All this seems perfectly in order, except for that part that we agreed on was going to be removed, but we can just ignore that I guess. Can't wait for the RP to start.

Don't worry about the quality of your posting. It should be fine, and if it isn't we're not going to kill you or anything. We're all here to help :)
