Is Storybelle g3's Twilight Sparkle?

Sadly, Storybelle only appeared in "Two for the Sky", but from what was seen, she lives in this giant windmill-like library with a second floor (like Twilight), loves reading (like Twilight), and has an assistant who's a dragonfly who's named Gossamer (like Twilight has with Spike)

I thought Lauren was inspired by G1 ponies...not G3, although there are similarities....

And for those who don't know what Storybelle looks like, here's a pic....

I heard that she was. Multiple times. I just found the similarities between Twilight and Storybelle to be there, in spite of that.

Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash are from G3.

Much of the main cast are G3 ponies.

Rainbow Dash is Rainbow Dash

Fluttershy is a Pegasus when she was originally a G3 Earth pony with a different color scheme. Posey wasn't really shy and yellow and light pink is a common color combo among MLP.

Twilight Sparkle resembles an Earth pony named Twilight Twinkle and not G1 Twilight at all.

Rarity has a G3 unicorn's name and resembles G1 Sparkler in looks and love of gems.

Applejack and Spike are the only G1 throwbacks. Though they were given a new personality. G1 Spike was gutsier and G1 AJ,a happy go lucky klutz.

Pinkie Pie is obviously a straight G3 throwback in personality and appearance.

FiM's Mane6 creation was taken from G1 AND G3. Take a look at this pic

There are quite a few past gen ponies remade into G4 ponies.

G1 Moondancer, Sunburst, Medley

G2 Clever Clover

G3 Star swirl, Cheerilee, Waterfire, Flippity-flop, Coconut Cream, Sapphire Shores

I really don't know why some people refuse to see that there are in fact more G3 characters in the toyline and show.

Lauren was originally going to name the mane 6 after G1 ponies, but for reasons I don't understand, she could only bring back Applejack and Spike.

It's a strange legal issue that Hasbro found itself caught in years after they stopped production of G1. And this is all trademark law, not copyright law. The two are effectively independent but get confused for each other a lot.

Basically what I've managed to gather from a variety of sources: when Hasbro switched to G2 they decided to sell off all their G1 molds and inventory rather than destroying them as was the common practice. And because the North America market wasn't doing so well at the time, they concentrated G2 in Europe and rebooted everything with mostly new characters and designs.

Which means they had unwittingly abandoned the brand in America. Those companies that bought the G1 molds had bought the trademarks along with them, though they didn't really realize it. When Hasbro went to G3 and restarted selling in America again, they found out that they had lost most the trademarks except for a couple like "Applejack". When Lauren was hired for G4 they still hadn't recovered ownership of all the trademarks for the characters she specifically wanted to use.

There are more similarities than just the character designs. :) The entire opening sequence of FiM is based off G3 show's opening.

Thanks. Still a little confusing but better than what I had before.
