Movies/TV Halloween movies.

Recommended Posts

The Nightmare before Christmas is pretty good.

And The Adams Family has always been a favourite of mine, not really halloween related but excellent regardless!

I'm not really into scare you silly kind of movies, but sometimes those can be fun on Halloween

We don't even celebrate Halloween much over in Australia. Darn, why don't we ever get the fun holidays?!

Nothing like the original slasher to get the season rolling.

And no terrible rob zombie remakes allowed.

I have a marathon of those movies the day before and day of Halloween, excluding the Rob Zombie abominations, of course.

I also love to watch the Nightmare on Elm Street series, the Resident Evil series, and random scary movies all moth long.

Let's see...

The Nightmare Before Christmas

Halloweentown: Kalabar's Revenge

Under Wraps

Phantom of the Megaplex

Hocus Pocus

The Addams Family

There's probably more of them, but I can't think any of the others. I'm not into horror movies because I get horrifying nightmares from them. D:

I have two particular favorites for the spooky season. :3

1. The Blair Witch Project: Realistic, tense and all around eerie. I know some hate this film but I love it.

2. The Fog (Original, not the crappy remake): This movie has so much atmosphere. The music alone is so unsettling and some of the imagery too is quite scary.

Definitely two I would recommend.

Less horror and slasher movies, more stuff with dark, creepy and/or Gothic aesthetics.

Favorite Halloween movie of all time is The Crow.  Dark, stylistic, packed with both gritty action and moments of both the somber and touching types.

There's also:

Tim Burton's Batman films

Van Helsing

The Hollow
